While his mother owns two pets [a horse named Fidella and a pet owl], Apollo briefly acquires Fidella for the sake of impressing his crush [Prince Dion] when he ends up going on a date with him. However for the most part, Apollo enjoys hanging out with the owl.

Cassandra Gothel - While Apollo loves his mother, the boy can't deny the overwhelming pressure he feels of having to live up to his mother's 'standards' and the aftermath of his mother briefly betraying Queen Rapunzel and her people in her past in terms of dealing with Auradon and the kids attending Auradon Prep.

As such, the two aren't super close to each other at the start of Descendants and when he acquires the Moonstone Opal, their relationship will further fall apart as Cassandra will have to face her son being under the influence of the stone. However, when the two have a heart-to-heart moment and she explains that she has always been proud of him, his relationship with his mother will improve for the better.

Mother "Dame" Gothel - their relationship is unknown as Apollo hasn't actually met her. However, Apollo has heard a lot of terrible things from both his mother and his aunt, causing him to decide that his aunt was better off being disowned and out of his family's life.

Walter Gothel - their relationship is unknown as Apollo hasn't actually met him prior to his disappearance nor did he know about his existence.

Mara Gothel - When the two meet for the first time, Apollo initially tries to convince the girl to switch sides. Unfortunately, Amaranthe takes an aggressive approach to the boy, not believing him when he tries to help her see the lies his [disowned] grandmother was telling Mara.

However when Apollo agrees to help Mara find out the truth about her father and he starts to show signs of being trustworthy, their relationship will change for the better.

Queen Rapunzel Fitzherbert of the Corona Kingdom - Apollo is closer to his aunt in terms of sharing a common interest in painting as the two can go hours and hours on art pieces. More so, he just relates to her better and often confides in her when Apollo feels too uncomfortable to discuss certain things with his mother.

King Eugene Fitzherbert of the Corona Kingdom - Though Apollo is not as close to his uncle [than compared to his relationship with his aunt], the two still share a typical and healthy uncle-nephew relationship as Apollo often finds the man humorous, especially when he talks about the rivalry he shared with his mother.

Personality:
Fierce and loyal, Apollo is someone who will go out of his way to protect others, often throwing himself into danger if it meant securing that person's safety. He cares deeply for his loved ones, even when using the moonstone to get revenge Auradon itself [along with Audrey and Metos].

Serious and wary at times, Apollo tends to focus on preserving his mother's image [even as the pressure starts to get to him] or serving as Prince Dion's bodyguard. Yet, despite this, Apollo tends to have low self-esteem [which is only seen by those who know him] and often believes he's not doing enough.

This mindset has also influenced the way Apollo views his relationship with Prince Dion as the prince is in love with him [that much, anyone can tell]. While Apollo does feel the same, he doesn't view himself worthy [plus given his status, he definitely doesn't believe the prince should be harboring a crush on him when there are other suitors] of earning the prince's heart.

Combined with the people's perception of him, Apollo will eventually snap [much like Audrey and Metos] and when he gets a hold of the Moonstone Opal, Auradon will come to regret ever pushing the boy to his limits.

Initially, the board were going to list Cassandra as a VK and send her to the Isle of the Lost as she did betray Queen Rapunzel and her people in the past. However, the Queen and King of the Corona Kingdom vouched for his mother, causing her to become label as a AK, allowing her to stay in Auradon.

While Apollo is an AK [prior to his mother being identified as one], most AKs still refer to the guard's son as a VK, in terms of the boy's mother being related to Mother Gothel.

Power(s) and/or Abilities:
These powers won't be used until Descendants 3 and by the end of the movie, he won't have access to these abilities.

Decay, Moonstone and/or Hurt Incantation - When citing and/or singing the incantation, Apollo's hair will briefly switch from blue [when using the moonstone] and turn sliver [rather than black] as everything around the boy starts to die/rapidly decay in the process. In addition, when someone attempts to touch Apollo in this state, their hand will completely turn pitch black.

Black Rocks - While using the moonstone, Apollo is able to summon the black rocks and much like his mother, the black rocks are tied to his emotions. When Apollo ends up becoming frightened by the idea of harming his loved ones, the rocks will turn red and cause people to endure their worse fears, even to the point of becoming paralyzed by fright if people stare at the rocks for too long.

Strengths:
Horseback riding - As he was taught by his mother, Apollo is particularly skilled at riding horses.

Archery - As he was taught by his mother, Apollo is particularly skilled at archery.

Fencing - As he was taught by his mother, Apollo is particularly skilled at fencing.

Athleticism - As his mother taught him her ways of displaying athleticism and the constant roaming has caused Apollo to display impressive feats of athleticism as he is able to sustain a great deal of stamina and endurance.

Weakness(es):
Losing Prince Dion [his love interest] - This fear quickly becomes apparent in the middle of the climax within Descendants 2 when Dion finds himself under a love spell and claims to be in love with the son of Morgana, which initially breaks the boy's heart until Uma confesses that true love can break the curse.

This fear quickly becomes apparent again when Dion pushes him out of the way and gets dragged underwater by Uma's older sister, Una, just moments after Apollo was able to free Dion from the spell.

His quick assumptions - Because Apollo tends to assume things pretty quickly, he automatically assumes the worse.

For instance when the boy spots Prince Dion with Morgan, Apollo assumes that the prince had replaced him as his date [which from his perspective, it looked true] until Uma admits to him that the prince is under a love spell and it can only be broken by true love, which upsets the girl's family [who then mock Uma that being around the daughter of Mother Gothel made her 'soft'].

However in extreme cases [like being influenced by the moonstone opal], Apollo's quick assumptions can be influenced by his anger and that anger reaches its highest peak, the young boy can quickly become blindsided from this state. More so, he tends to become more wary and mistrustful toward people.

1. Similar to how Audrey was lured into obtaining Maleficent's staff from the woman's voice in Descendants 3, the same thing will occur to Apollo when he's in the museum with Prince Dion.

While hanging out with the prince, Apollo will hear his name being called by Zhan Tiri which will lead him to acquire the Moonstone Opal. As such when Apollo activates the stone, his hair and eyes will turn blue, signaling that he will obtain the powers of the moonstone during Descendants 3 only!

By the end of Descendants 3, Apollo will return the stone back to the museum, lose the powers he initially gained and become reduced to a normal man [much like his mother went through].

2. Much like how his mother and his disowned grandmother said "You want me the bad guy? Fine. Now, I'm the bad guy" line in their respective timeline, Apollo will end up uttering this line when he activates the Moonstone Opal. As a result, when Apollo says the line, the quote will serve as a shift in the boy's demeanor, signaling his descent into evil.

3. Unwittingly, Apollo will end up repeating history and follow in his mother's footsteps as he will end up betraying Queen Rapunzel, King Eugene, Princess Ruby, Prince Elliot [OCs belongs to Sci-Briana17] and essentially, all of Auradon itself when he chooses to activate the Moonstone Opal in Descendants 3.

4. Apollo's relationship with Prince Dion will resemble Mal's own relationship with Prince Ben [minus the whole love spell situation].

5. Additionally, Apollo's relationship with Prince Dion will also resemble Dion's parents [King Eric and Queen Ariel]'s relationship in the sense of the two repeating history as King Eric once found himself under Ursula's spell [as her human form, Vanessa], which led Queen Ariel to save him.

As such, Prince Dion will unwittingly take the place of his father [King Eric] as he will find himself under Morgan's spell [the son of Morgana, who ends up taking Ursula's place], causing Apollo [taking the place of Queen Ariel] to gather his courage to break the curse on his crush.

6. Initially upon meeting Amaranthe Gothel, it will be revealed that Mara is his cousin when in reality, Mara is actually his aunt [just roughly older than him by a few months] since Cassandra is the girl's sister [but this will later be discovered when Mara, Apollo and Cassandra find Walter, who is revealed to be his mother's missing father who had also strangely disappeared].
