ENDGAME PART 2

ㅤ"𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋, 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆," was all Phobos could say, his eyes trained on Thanos' decapitated head, all thanks to Thor finally going for the head. His attention shifted to the God of Thunder's retreating figure, feeling all sorts of emotions radiating off him. He turned back to look at all the faces of his comrades, his friends. "Let's just go home."

And go home they did. Phobos tried his best to continue staying at the compound, but the air there was too thick for his liking. And it wasn't just him who had the same thought, as everyone branched off one by one. He was the last to leave, giving a small apologetic smile to Steve, before transporting himself back to his temple.

Of course, first thing he did after stepping foot in his actual home was to change into his traditional Greek clothing, before journeying to where his sister was recovering. There, he saw Adrestia sleeping peacefully in her bed in the infirmary.

Phobos turned to Apollo who was watching over the two of them. "How is she?"

"She woke up about a day after you left," Apollo answered, "she was well aware of what she'd done and just pretty much stayed silent while I tried to tell her not to do it again. Poor girl looks up to you so much."

The God of Fear looked down and sighed. "Everyone knows not to approach me when I lose control, let alone touch me. I've never felt so terrified for her life."

"Well, she knows you're sorry," Apollo shrugged. "And she'll be fine soon. I'm just monitoring her. She keeps waking up screaming because of her nightmares. Now, any news from the mortals?"

"We...we tracked Thanos down," Phobos began, his eyebrows furrowing, "we detected a power surge similar to the one released when he first used the stone to do what he did. And, well, Thor couldn't help himself. Sliced his head off."

"He used the stones again?"

"Used them to destroy them," he chuckled bitterly. "Despite knowing that everyone will eventually come back, I'm beginning to lose hope. Hearing him say that he destroyed the stones...you really begin to wonder how the mortals still don't lose hope. And that's saying something, given that they don't even know that their friends will actually return."

Apollo sighed. "The prophecy is never wrong. But they're never that informative either. It's up to us to decipher it." He turned to face Phobos. "Did you tell them about the prophecy?"

"I debated on it, but I had a feeling it wouldn't do them any good," Phobos answered, shaking his head. "So I didn't."

Five years later, and nothing has changed. Streets were empty and vacant, life was dull...living didn't make anyone feel alive anymore. Everyone lost someone, and many couldn't be bothered to cope after watching their loved ones turn to dust right in front of their eyes.

Phobos stared at the wall opposite him as he leaned his head on his sister's shoulder. The two haven't really been that far from each other ever since the snap, not that they'd want to, either. Phobos lost his twin, Adrestia lost an older brother, and both lost their parents. They're all each other has, other than distant friends.

Then suddenly, a beeping came from the device Natasha gave him before he left. He carefully lifted his head and shared a look with his sister, before shifting to grab it. He looked at it for a moment and spoke, "It's time."

"You want me to go with you?" Adrestia asked.

"Of course," Phobos grinned, "what would I do without you?"

No more than a few minutes later, the two siblings were walking side by side in the Avengers compound, with Phobos finally sporting a suit and tie. Phobos walked in first walked in, his face immediately scrunching in confusion as he spotted the once-hunk God of Thunder with a beer belly and an unkept beard. He glanced around the place, spotting an upside down Rocket underneath a machine.

"Well, this place has certainly changed," he glanced around, giving a playful look to his sister as he spoke to the raccoon. "What are you working on?"

"It's a time machine." Was Rocket's simple answer, causing the siblings to gape.

It was Adrestia who spoke. "I beg your pardon?"

After introducing himself to Scott, and Adrestia introducing herself to the team, the situation was quickly explained, and everyone began to prepare for Clint's solo travel. His job was to make sure their navigation device worked, and that their mission to retrieve the stones is possible.

As Clint stood in the middle of the machine, Phobos turned to his sister and whispered, "You think this is it? Think this will kickstart the last few lines of the prophecy?"

"I don't doubt it," Adrestia whispered back. "Apollo did say that the prophecy will be proven true, one way or another." This time, Phobos nodded in reply, feeling Steve's eyes on the two of them.

"Alright, Clint," Bruce began, preparing to send Clint on his way, "we're going in three, two, one..." The portal opened, and they all watched as Clint shrunk in size. Just a minute later, he was back, and was kneeling on the ground with a look of pure shock on his face.

As the Avengers ran to help him up, Phobos smirked, seeing the catcher's mitt on the archer's hand. Fully on his feet, Clint spoke to his best friend, tapping her with the glove. "It worked."

It was almost blinding, seeing the hope return to everyone's faces, and this new development pushed them into brainstorming for this 'time heist'. Everyone stood around each other as images of the six Infinity Stones appeared on the monitors.

"Okay, so the 'how' works," Steve started, "now we gotta figure out the 'when', and the 'where'. Almost everyone in this room has had an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones."

"Or," Tony interjected, "substitute the word 'encounter' for 'damn near have been killed' by one of the six Infinity Stones."

"I haven't," Scott countered, making Phobos snort. "I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about."

"Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round trip each," Bruce added. "And these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history."

"Our history," Tony emphasized. "So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in, you know."

"Which means we have to pick our targets," Clint concluded.

"Correct."

"So, let's start with the Aether," Steve decided. "Thor, what do you know?"

Everyone turned their attention towards the obviously sleeping god.

"Is he asleep?" Natasha asked no one in particular.

"No, no," Rhodey replied. "I'm pretty sure he's dead."

Phobos, who was standing right next to his chair, nudged his fellow god awake. Thor, as if electrocuted, shot up in attention, and stood up and walked towards the screen which showed an image of the mentioned Infinity Stone.

"Uh, where to start?" Thor took off his sunglasses, which made Phobos and Adrestia face-palm in unison. "Um, the Aether. First, it's not a stone. Someone called it a stone before." He pointed at Steve who gave him a frown. "Uh, it's more of a--kind of an angry sludge sort of thing." He began to put drops in his eyes. "So, someone's gonna need to amend that...and stop saying that." The rest of his team members were giving each other looks of disbelief as they watched the large man.

But Thor continued nonetheless. "Here's an interesting story though, about the Aether. My grandfather, many years ago, had to hide the stone from the Dark Elves. Woooo, scary beings." Even Rocket was face-palming. "So Jane, actually, oh there she is," an image of the scientist popped up, "Jane...Jane, was an old flame of mine. Uh, you know, she-she stuck her hand inside a rock, this one time, and...and then the Aether stuck itself inside her."

"Oh my God," Phobos muttered.

"And she became very, very sick and so I had to take her to Asgard, which is where I'm from," Adrestia scratched her head in confusion, wondering what it was that made Thor decide on telling this whole story, but just a quick glance at Scott's astonished face made her rethink her life choices. "And, uh, we had to try and fix her. We were dating at that time, you see, and I got to introduce her to my mother." He suddenly let out a heavy breath. "Who...who's dead, and um, oh, you know...Jane and I aren't even...dating anymore, so."

Bruce tried to signal to Thor to cut off his story, but the god paid him no mind.

"These things happen though, you know, 'nothing lasts forever'. The only thing that--" That was when Tony tried reeling him in, telling him to just sit down, but he continued. "I'm not done yet--the only thing that is permanent in life is impermanence." Then he chuckled.

"Awesome," Tony said sarcastically while clapping, his voice a little muffled by the thing in his mouth. "Eggs? Breakfast?"

"No, I'd like a Bloody Mary."

When it was time to talk about the Power Stone, it was Rocket who took the reins. Phobos and Adrestia watched him speak as they ate their takeout. "Quill said that he stole the Power Stone from Morag."

"Is that a person?" Bruce asked as he chewed.

"No!" Rocket answered. "Morag's a planet. Quill was a person."

"Like-like a planet? Like, in outer space?" Scott asked, still trying to wrap his head around this whole other world.

"Aw, look, it's like a little puppy," Rocket began to patronize the poor man. "All happy and everything. Do you wanna go to space? You wanna go to space, puppy? I'll take you to space."

An image of the Soul Stone appeared next, and it was Nebula's turn. "Thanos found the Soul Stone on Vormir."

Natasha, taking down notes, asked. "What is 'Vormir'?"

"A dominion of death...at the very center of celestial existence," Nebula answered. "It's where...Thanos murdered my sister."

Everyone was thrust into an uncomfortable silence, and Phobos, who was Adrestia-less at the moment, awkwardly looked down, before looking up to give Scott a look of utter disbelief as the said man spoke.

"Not it."

After brainstorming about the time stone, a plan had been formed.

"Alright," Steve began, "we have a plan. Six stones, three teams, one shot."

That's when everyone suited up. Adrestia had been assigned as look out. She'll be the one to make sure everyone will be successfully transported back. Bruce had taught her about the 'emergency' button in case something goes awry. Phobos, on the other hand, was assigned to help out Bruce with the Time Stone. And now, they were all walking towards the time machine.

With everyone stood in a circle, Steve began to speak. "Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends, we lost family...we lost a part of ourselves. Today we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One roundtrip each. No mistakes, no do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know, but that doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful, look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives...and we're gonna win. Whatever it takes. Good luck."

"He's pretty good at that," Rocket pointed out.

"Right?!" Scott agreed.

"Alright, you heard the man," Tony spoke up. "Stroke those keys, jolly green."

There was a bit of banter, but there was one thing that stood out to Phobos. And that was Natasha's little quip.

"See you in a minute."

And away they went.

Phobos, Steve, Bruce, Scott, and Tony all arrived in New York in the year of 2012. The god stood next to his partner.

"Alright, we all have our assignments," Steve spoke. "Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low, keep an eye on the clock."

All attention was diverted to a loud roar, and 2012 Hulk came crashing down. He lifted a car above his head, smashed a Chitauri, while another ran away in fear. Hulk continued to smash, and Phobos turned to look at 'Smart Hulk' right next to him, giving him a smirk. Bruce tried to cover his face in shame as he cringed.

Steve turned to look at Bruce. "Maybe smash a few things along the way." This made Phobos cackle in amusement, Bruce giving him a look.

"I think it's gratuitous, but whatever," Bruce commented as he shredded his shirt, before doing his rendition of a 'smash'.

Phobos continued to cackle before recovering. "I'm just gonna meet you there, don't want to be seen with you, at all." He cackled again before disappearing in a cloud of black smoke, with Bruce's mumbles being the last thing he hears.

He reappears again on the roof of the New York sanctum, the sight of the Ancient One fighting the aliens greeting him.

"Ancient One," he greeted, watching as she turned to him with squinted eyes.

"Phobos, I didn't expect you here," she spoke with a tone of suspicion.

Their conversation ended as quickly as it started, as Bruce roughly landing on the roof. Phobos watched as the man turn his attention to the door, wanting to enter the building, not noticing the Ancient One herself standing near.

"I'd be careful going that way, we just had the floors waxed," were the words the Ancient One used to bring the attention to her.

"Yeah, I'm looking for Doctor Strange," Bruce said in reply, finally taking notice of Phobos leaning to the side.

"You're about...five years too early," she informed, shielding her shock. "Steven Strange is currently performing surgery about twenty blocks that way." She pointed. "What do you want from him?"

"That," Bruce pointed towards the Eye of Agamotto that he knew held the real power. "Actually."

"Ah, I'm afraid not."

Phobos scoffed from where he stood, knowing exactly what would be happening to Bruce next. He's been acquainted with the Ancient One many times before. And though he admired her sheer power and will, he was often annoyed by her ways.

"Sorry, but I wasn't asking," Bruce continued.

"Bruce..." Phobos tried, "you don't want to do this."

"He's right," the Ancient One agreed. "You don't want to do this."

"Yeah, you're right, I don't, but I don't have time to--"

It was there that Bruce first experienced being in his astral form.

"Let's start over, shall we?"

"You know, you should just give it to us," Phobos pointed out. "You know what's going to happen to the Eye. You're going to give it to Strange. And he's going to use the Time Stone. Fast forward a couple of years, a mad man eventually will get the stone and use it to turn half the universe's population to dust."

"And now we need it to undo what he did," Bruce continued. "Please."

The Ancient One began to walk away, ignoring Bruce's pleas. "I'm sorry, I can't help you, Bruce. If I give up the Time Stone to help your reality, I'm dooming my own."

"With all due respect, I don't think the science really supports that."

That's when the Ancient One created a visualization of what might happen. "The Infinity Stones create what you experience as the flow of time. Remove one of the stones, and that flow splits." Phobos walked closer to the two in curiosity. "Now, this may benefit your reality, but my new one, not so much. In this new branch of reality, without our chief weapon against the forces of darkness, our world will be overrun. Millions suffer. But tell me, doctor, can your science prevent all that?"

"No," Bruce answered, which made Phobos smirk, knowing that his friend knew what to say. The God of Fear was always amused when the Ancient One was proven wrong. "But we can erase it. Because once we're done with the stones, we can return each one to its own timeline at the moment it was taken. So, chronologically, in that reality, it never left."

She began to walk away. "Yes, but you're leaving out the most important part," she then leaned on something. "In order to return the stone, you have to survive."

"We will," it was Phobos who answered, turning the attention to him.

"We will, I promise," Bruce continued.

"I can't risk this reality on a promise," she scoffed. "It's the duty of the Sorcerer Supreme to protect the Time Stone."

"Then why the hell did Strange give it away?" Bruce retorted.

This caught her off-guard. "What did you say?"

"Strange, he gave it away," Phobos repeated. "He gave it to Thanos."

"Willingly?"

"Yes," Bruce answered, frustration in his voice.

"Why?"

"I have no idea, maybe he made a mistake." This made the Ancient One stand up and look Bruce in the eye, searching.

"Or I did." A second passed, when suddenly Bruce was transported back to his physical body. The two Avengers watched as the Eye opened, revealing the glowing light of the Time Stone. "Strange is meant to be the best of us."

"So he must've done it for a reason," the doctor realized, watching as he was handed the stone.

"I fear the two of you might be right," she turned to look at Phobos who was standing to the side, nodding to him in recognition, realizing that Phobos knows more than he's letting on, but is unable to tell anyone anything.

"Thank you," the god acknowledged.

"I'm counting on you two...we all are."

Phobos and Bruce gave each other a look, before standing next to each other. A quick press of a button, and they're transported back to their time. It was Clint who caught everyone's attention.

"Clint, where's Nat?"

Instead of going with the original Avengers, Phobos opted to stay in the building, out of respect for the team and for the fearless woman he'd grown to appreciate. He sighed, holding a hand out to his sister who gladly took it. The two would often need each other's physical touch to ground them, after the events five years ago.

And so, they decided to go on a walk, just to explore the place.

"Can I tell you something?" Adrestia suddenly asked, looking up at her brother.

"What is it?" Phobos inquired.

"When you all came back..." she hesitated, "I just had this feeling that something was off. Not because of Natasha's death but...Nebula..."

Phobos paused in his steps. "What about Nebula?"

"I think...I don't think it's actually her," Adrestia stopped right next to her brother, her lips pursed in deep thought. "I remember back then when we would follow Ares to war without a single thought. How I'd always be standing in between you and Deimos, because I'd always be the more rational one. Now, my senses are telling me that I should be wary of Nebula, which wasn't the case when I first met her."

"So you think her other self...switched places with her?"

"I'm not sure. But I can't shake it off my mind."

The God of Fear looked down to meet his sister's eyes, knowing that her gut-feelings should never be ignored. After all, she's the Goddess of Revolt.

"We'll just keep an eye out for her, okay? We've got a big day ahead of us."

While Phobos went and assisted with the new Iron Man-made Infinity Gauntlet, Adrestia decided to confirm whether her gut feelings were right. With the ability of telepathy like all gods have, she sent a short message to her brother.

I'm going to check on Nebula, something doesn't seem right.

Diverting his attention from the glove for a split second, Phobos replied. Be careful, Adi.

Adrestia carefully followed Nebula, and lo and behold, they found themselves at the time machine. The goddess clenched her jaw, annoyed that she was right.

"Who are you?" She spoke up, causing Nebula to jump back and face her, while pointing a blaster at her head. "Let me ask again, who are you?"

Nebula scoffed. "I'm Nebula."

"But you aren't our Nebula," her eyes squinted.

"I'm not," Nebula smirked. "I came from the past. Your Nebula got captured, and father sent me in her place." She slyly walked closer to the panel, carefully activating the machine and flipping all of the switches.

"Why do you continue to yearn for your demented father's acceptance?" Adrestia growled. "Why can't you see he's only using you?! You're nothing but a tool to him--"

"Because I have no one!" Nebula cut her off with a snarl. "And now, so will you."

Adrestia's eyes widened at the sight of Thanos' ship appearing, but could only scream out. "No!" Before she was buried in rubble.

Phobos groaned as he used his supernatural strength to push away a wall that landed on his chest immediately after the compound exploded. He pushed himself up, watching as Tony tried to wake Steve up.

"Come on, buddy, wake up," Tony called, to which Steve immediately reacted to by gasping awake. "That's my man." He held up the shield. "You lose this again, I'm keeping it."

"What happened?" Steve looked around, catching sight of Phobos walking towards them.

"You mess with time, it tends to mess back," Tony replied.

Phobos turned away from the conversation and found a lone Thor looking down on someone. He walked up to him, and followed his line of sight to see a relaxed Thanos just sitting on a pile of rubble. A growl formed in him, his eyes immediately turning black. But he held back his deadly smoke, instead using his sudden power surge to change into his armor. Thor looked at it in approval before turning his gaze back to the Mad Titan.

Steve and Tony walked up to them, finally seeing what it was the two gods were looking at. It was Tony who spoke first.

"What's he been doing?" He asked.

"Absolutely nothing," Thor replied, his eyes never straying.

"Where are the stones?" Steve asked this time.

"Somewhere under all of this," Tony answered, looking around the destroyed compound. "All I know is, he doesn't have them."

"So we keep it that way."

Phobos clenched his jaw. "You know it's a trap, right?"

"Yeah," Tony turned to him. "I don't much care."

It was Thor who continued. "Good. Just as long as we're all in agreement."

The sky rumbled as Thor's eyes began to glow. This caused an uncontrollable leer to spread across Phobos' handsome face as he made eye contact with the titan.

Both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker raced to each of Thor's hands before he spoke again. "Let's kill him properly this time."

The four then walked towards Thanos, with Phobos flanking Tony's left. As they neared, the titan began to speak.

"You could not live with your own failure," Thanos started, his stance unchanging, "What did that bring you? Back to me. I thought by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive. But you've shown me that's impossible. And as long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that are unable to accept what can be. They will resist."

"Yep," Tony interrupted. "We're all kinds of stubborn."

"I'm thankful," Thanos replied. "Because now...I know what I must do." That's when he stood to his full height. "I will...shred this universe down to its last atom. And then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one. Teeming with life that knows not what it has lost, and only what it has been given. A grateful universe."

At this, Phobos slowly released his pent-up energy, as Steve spoke. "Born out of blood."

"They'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them."

Phobos' lips twitched in anger, his hands clenched so much that they're shaking. His mind flashed to the memories of everyone just disappearing right before his eyes, making him growl under his breath, before charging at him, seconds after Thor's battle cry.

In another area, Adrestia was slowly gaining consciousness, her head pounding as she pushed away a few rocks that happened to land on her upper body. She looked around, noticing immediately the destroyed compound. She grit her teeth as she pushed herself up, trying to see if any one of her friends were near her. With a quick look to her right, she saw Nebula pointing a gun at Clint. She rushed to save him, before sighing in relief as a green-skinned woman appeared.

"Stop," the mystery woman ordered, pointing a gun to whom Adrestia assumed was the bad one.

"You're betraying us," bad Nebula accused, before the real Nebula stepped out of the shadows. Bad Nebula immediately pointed the gun to her, and Clint used this opportunity to duck away, spotting Adrestia who slowly walked towards him to give him assistance if need be.

"You don't have to do this," Nebula said with raised arms to show that she was unarmed.

"I am...this."

"No, you're not," the woman who Adrestia assumed was Nebula's sister quickly interrupted.

Nebula spoke again, pointing at her head, eyes trained on the bad version of her. "You've seen what we become."

A silence swept over the three before Gamora spoke again. "Nebula, listen to her."

"You can change," future Nebula reassured.

Bad Nebula was teary eyed, but still, she didn't lower her gun. "He won't let me." Then she attempted to shoot at Gamora, but the good Nebula was quick enough to shoot her instead; right at her heart.

Not knowing what to say, Clint quickly reached for the gauntlet, eyes meeting Adrestia's, before they booked it out of there.

Phobos panted as tried to wake Tony up. His lip was split, and he had a nasty cut on his cheek. "Tony, wake up." He looked up for a moment, only to find Steve suddenly wielding Mjolnir, but he had no time to marvel over the sight.

He grit his teeth as he tried to ignore pain blooming from his side, standing to his full height. He grabbed his fallen spear, and threw it right after Thanos took off his helmet, grazing his neck. The titan turned back to him with a growl, giving Steve enough time to recollect himself.

When Thanos rushed to Phobos in anger, the god quickly unsheathed his bronze sword and swung at the titan's face, creating a cut that immediately bled. Thanos snarled at this, swinging his double-edged sword, which the god deflected with his shield.

Quickly reacting, Phobos swung his sword again, cutting just under Thanos' arm. The titan grew furious, and kicked the god away, and turning his attention back to Steve.

With Phobos landing roughly on his back and his head connecting with a stray piece of rubble, he began to grow dizzy. His vision was becoming blurry, and he turned to see both Tony and Thor knocked out. He was fighting hard to keep his eyes open, but the sight of Steve standing alone against Thanos' whole army made him sit up.

Despite his weakened state, he grinned, realizing what this meant. "A man shall stand alone in a land burned," he muttered to himself, chuckling despite the pain. "All that's left is--"

He cut himself off, just as the first portal opened, and out came T'Challa, Shuri, and Okoye, with Sam swooping in from behind. He pushed himself up, excitedly looking at all the portals that were beginning to open and the people beginning to walk out of them.

"Yibambe!"

Adrestia rushed to Phobos' side, right after she and Clint found their way out, changing her attire to the armor she once wore back when she accompanied her father in war. She grinned, seeing her two older brothers reuniting with a tight hug. She situated herself between the twins and hugged them both.

"It's time," she grinned, her eyes flashing a dangerous red, just like her father's does when he gets excited about fighting. Though she's become more controlled when it comes to her father and brothers, that doesn't mean she isn't as deadly.

Phobos grinned back, his eyes turning black just like Deimos' from beside him. The twins gave each other excited looks, before they faced their sister in unison. The three shared grins, before they faced their enemies, waiting for the signal.

"Avengers!" Steve shouted, dramatically calling out for Mjolnir, who rushed to his awaiting hand. "Assemble."

Thor let out a battle cry, and with that, everyone rushed forwards. The twins, flanking their sister's sides, were fighting like mirror images, protecting their sister while ferociously killing their own enemies. And Adrestia, who stood in between them with her head held high, hair tied away from her face, swung her sword and killed whoever stood in their path. The three were trained to fight together by their father, and nobody stood a chance against them.

With adrenaline pumping through his veins, Phobos barely noticed his injuries from earlier. He laughed almost maniacally as he swung back and forth, his eyes like pure onyxes. He and his twin's smoke was pouring out of them, touching their enemies and causing them to convulse before dropping dead. When the God of Fear and the God of Terror stood side by side in battle, their enemies would often run away from them, but those brave enough will suffer the consequences.

Bucky had two missions in mind: survive, and find Phobos. The second he woke up, he only wanted to see Phobos. But now, with him preoccupied with surviving this—hopefully—final battle, he didn't know when he'll find the time to find the god.

After shooting off another Chitauri, he took the time to look around. He saw everyone had their own little battles. He squinted, paying closer attention to the Olympians. The gods who controlled lighting, Zeus and Thor, were fighting side by side. Hades was trampling all who dared to face him and his army of undead, while Ares was beside Iron Man, eyes gleaming. Hermes and Dionysus were fighting among the Einherjar.

He shook his head with a smile before reloading his gun. The second it clicked into place, a voice called out his name.

"Hey, Buck," Phobos greeted.

"Phobos," Bucky breathlessly said before rushing to him with his gun hanging loosely on his hand. He gripped the back of the god's head before pushing their lips together.

"Oh, gods, please save the kissing for later," Deimos suddenly spoke up, causing the two to break apart. "Please hold your horses until the battle's over, thank you." Adrestia chortled from beside him. "Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm Deimos."

Bucky gaped at the sight of his lover's twin, gaze switching back and forth between them. "You guys are identical."

Phobos laughed. "You kidding me? I'm obviously more handsome."

"Yeah, right," Deimos rolled his eyes, before suddenly, Thanos' ship started shooting down at them. The gods quickly pulled their shields over their heads, with Bucky pulled into Phobos' side.

"What the hell?" Bucky muttered, gripping onto Phobos.

On one end of the field, Poseidon, who was near Doctor Strange, quickly raised his arms to hold back water that was rushing into the battlefield. The doctor took notice, and gave the god a nod of thanks. On another end, Apollo quickly grabbed onto Peter Parker after seeing him fall from a Pegasus while carrying the Infinity Stones.

Phobos was struggling to hold back the force of the ship's blasts, when suddenly, it stopped. Giving his twin a look, they stood up in unison, before looking up to see Carol Danvers singlehandedly destroying the ship.

"She's awesome," Adrestia grinned. "Now come on, fight isn't over yet."

Their mother Aphrodite wasn't used to wearing an armor, but she stood next to her sisters Athena, Artemis, and Demeter in battle, fighting with a certain rigor that stemmed from her annoyance at being dusted.

Athena growled as she stabbed through an Outrider. "Look!" She suddenly shouted at the sight of Carol being handed the gauntlet. The goddesses gave each other looks before they rushed to join the women.

"She's got help."

As Ares continued to fight alongside Tony Stark, he suddenly spoke up, "You know, you're a formidable warrior, for a mortal." He swung his sword hard enough to decapitate a Chitauri.

At his words, Tony smirked. "Why thank you. You're a formidable warrior too, for an immortal."

Ares let out a loud laugh before turning to face Tony. But before he could say anything back, the man suddenly rushed to Thanos. He watched as he was backhanded away. So, the god immediately rushed to his aid. But his eyes were trained at the Mad Titan.

"I am...inevitable," Thanos smirked, before snapping his fingers. But he frowned when nothing happened, and turned to look at the gauntlet that was stone-less with wide eyes.

Ares immediately turned back to the mortal right next to him, who was suddenly kneeling, with the stones connected to his own gauntlet. The god was shocked at the man's bravery, but he couldn't help him, not when Tony shook his head at him as he tried to approach.

The mortal man then faced Thanos again, his body shaking and breathing labored as he tried to hold the powers of the Infinity Stones. "And I...am...Iron Man."

Watching this scene right in front of him, Ares stood. He watched as those closest to the mortal man come forward. He paid no mind to what they were saying to the dying man. But as his wife came and hugged him for the last time, he decided that it was only fitting to take a knee, and honor the man that give his life for them all.

As the rest of the Avengers walked closer, they took notice of the God of War on one knee. One by one, they all took a knee, with their head down. The whole field was plunged into silence, to honor Tony Stark.
