HWANG IN-HO has never been the same after the death of his wife HWANG HYUNRIN. She suffered from liver cancer and needed a donor. However, to find a donor and cover the expenses of a transplant operation, they be talking about enormous amounts of money.
In-ho was forced to borrow money from a criminal yet was mistaken for taking a bribe. Despite his perfect track record and the circumstances of his wife, his superior fired him without a second thought.
Desperate, he entered the 28TH SQUID GAME and won but it was too late as his wife passed away before he could use the winnings to pay for the surgery.
Maddened with grief, he gave in to join Oh Il-nam''s crew as the FRONT MAN ever since.

HWANG HYUNRIN was very well alive after presumed dead. A mysterious donor gave a liver to bring her life and her unborn child to safety. However, the mysterious donor demands his money returned leaving Hyunrin desperate. She was alone in this world without a single sign of her husband.
"He disappeared while you were in the hospital." That is what her mother-in-law told her. Her heart shattered as she laid a hand on her stomach. Hyunrin searched for her husband, but it appeared he had fallen off the earth.
Fallen into depression, she gave birth to a son. His son, Hwang Min-ho. With such debt to repay, Hyunrin was desperate to find a way.
