POSITIVE
— disciplined —
the provisions to remain disciple and stern would explain the exclusion to freedom and expression. albeit the inquiry may resume pity in others, duwar's self security prevents a falter to doubt; he relinquishes in the rewards to restraint. yes, the male holds himself to high standards in regards to logical motives, but the sternness allows for the windows of opportunity in survival to open. strict regimen does no harm as duwar desires no change in routine and a cold persona many pups and youngsters view as less than subpar and charismatic.
— forgiving —
a refusal to taunt himself, and others, in guilt of no chances at all - duwar lets himself accept the apologies that slip past muzzled of both the beneficial and malicious. the guise to appear tougher, or superior, and reject genuine reflections go against the male's morals and leaves regret and discontent to bury itself. for a peace of mind, and peace of heart, the least duwar does is forgive and move on - never forget. no promises to caution or suspicion, but there will always be a promise at the opportunity at redemption.
NEUTRAL
— straight forward —
the knick knack to beat the bush bluntly is an action duwar takes and presents. no crap, no lies (mostly), and no excuses (sometimes). he'll be as frank as one could be in situations that allow upfront honesty and discipline. now, that does not decline duwar's praise as he will give credit where it is due. the male sire will not hinder himself in opinions and objections to others either and serves as a grounded individual to voice both the majority and minority. this courage lets others not risk a bare of teeth themselves and earns duwar some rabbit ears for camaraderie. so, the staple to a blunt attitude serves neither good nor bad and depends on occasion.
— reserved —
alright - it's no tall tale crime duwar's a mystery. most knowledge of his past goes undiscovered like a riddled map to treasure. and, to elevate his 'mystery', duwar gives no care or attention to broadcast his life to the mountains. the male has enough certainty in himself and the present to stop inclination of over-share. what business may another wolf have on his past and actions anyway?
NEGATIVE
— short-tempered —
like the hind end of a porcupine, duwar is prickly. a short fuse of patience graces his frame with oncoming age. now, certain aspects can propose a longer wick to the bomb of rage, but eventually it'll reach the end and explode. an upside to the male's easily bared fangs is how quick fumes can diffuse into a calmer demeanor. let few moments pass by like the breeze and his anger will whisk away as it never happened. duwar, plenty aware of himself, quite enjoys his prickly nature: pups get uneasy quickly in his presence.
— nonchalant —
nonchalance and a short fuse don't come together usually - but duwar may just be a special case. after all, he is legendary. teasings aside, in moments where he doesn't allow anger to best him, duwar is calm, collected, and unconcerned. anxiety and interest don't easily front themselves as the barrier of peace and un-care act as a mask. letting others see every bare emotion across the canine's muzzle is not a priority.

mental health
he's a guarded wolf — no doubt. but, besides his difficulty to open up and properly socialize outside of recommended requirement, duwar's mentality is strong with wisdom one can only experience with years.
physical health
he's fine physically. admittedly, with the big age of eight, his joints shoot a subtle pain to remind duwar of his oncoming age. the youth has passed the older fellow tremendously.

MOTHER
— yuliya —
yuliya and duwar's relationship had multiple falters: from petty mumbles to heated, toxic arguments no mother would befall on a pup nor a pup would dare brave against an elder. she always pushed duwar to be better no matter if the canine pushed past his limits to give her an ounce of euphoric pleasure and pride. eventually, the pressure of his dame led to continuous cracks in the cliffs of affection before the end completely fell off and crumbled. he didn't love her, didn't need her, and didn't want her. this resentment grew so bitter and toxic no amount of light shone on yuliya and, inevitably, drew her son away. she's deceased - yet duwar shed no tear.
FATHER
— sindri —
sindri, a youthful father, always brightened and taught the current wisdom duwar carries upon his shoulders. despite nursing on his mother's teat, duwar and sindri's relationship skyrocketed into a tight bond. in juvenile years they'd often practice common skills shared among wolves and constantly share chuckles and worries. in fact, sindri had the ability to dishevel anxiety that occasionally crept within his pup over responsibilities his mate bestowed on duwar. he was the middle ground and kept the two from ripping each other's throats. fortunately, sindri is still kicking in his nine years of life with a new mate to lead his pack.
SIBLING(S)
— eren —
eren is duwar's younger sister by two litters. she's quite the opposite of her elder as her inheritance granted an excitable and affectionate personality. duwar admittedly grew close through multiple pup-sitting. she, the runt, had prevented harsh bullying situation with duwar's aid and naturally became clingy and attached. later, through her independence, she managed to convince duwar to leave the pack in search of his own happiness; jealousy on duwar's end began to strain their relationship. yet eren never held malice against him and understood enough to coax his departure.
— galayn —
from the same litter, galayn is a few hours older and somewhat of a predecessor. he has made his own history in the area and still excels in life with his family. he was always a faster learner and got praise before duwar did. they envied each other but also held love and a strong brotherhood. silent competition continuously came and went until galayn forged his own path after two years spent with his parents. he left the pack and, most importantly, left duwar. it's bittersweet to think galayn never once came to visit or say a hearty goodbye.
MATE
— raë —
her jet black, dirty white, and rusted brown coat could stun the gasps out of anyone. raë faltered no ordinary placement in duwar's affections: her brilliance touched every possible mile and her eyes sparkled in equal gratitude and love for duwar who so helplessly doted. from their early courtship days till her frame became limp - they lived the most calm of lives and left a legacy intermingled with their inherent tufts of fur and peaceful demeanor. oh, how duwar loved her and continues to love her after her passing. one crescent moon for each month his beloved howl pierced the night and carries to raë's afterlife.
LOVE INTEREST
no further love interests after his former mate.
PUP(S)
— haven —
haven is a two year old male; he's the only pup of duwar still residing in the territory and living close knit with his father. haven's expressed his admiration for duwar and has not the desire to court a mate. duwar is doubtful his son will ever find the interest in a lifetime partner and hopes the phase of content shifts. however, duwar appreciates haven's company and doesn't mind it. still, the small resemblances haven has of raë sometimes leaves duwar speechless.
FRIENDS
— crow —
crow is... well, crow is a crow. duwar would not craze himself over an original name so he called it as he saw it. crow has been a bird who warns the wolf of another presence or food. in turn, duwar provides the bird with protective companionship and meals. both take solace. but, dear god does that crow molt a ton and try and weave his own feathers in duwar's fur. in fact, hints of jealousy come when another crow attempts to befriend the canine.
ENEMIES
doesn't have any personal enemies.
ALLIES
— wakin village —
wakin village is a good natured size group full of familial and ritualistic ties. their residence stretches from a multitude of territories as ancestor lineage befalls from hispanic, native, and african blend. their resources grow from the ground as they respectfully live in the area and protect the land and animals. tourists occasionally visit as well. duwar's name derived from the village people as he is seen to visit and watch them.
— evangeline protection program —
the evangeline protection program (epp) centers around wildlife and conservation efforts. they protect from poachers and hunters and continuously chip animals to follow and document - duwar included. they plan to watch him from afar and take note of his life. duwar's memory of them is subtle and faint, so their presence doesn't bother.
throughout duwar's life, the most fuzzy memory—and most unpleasant—tokened his early pup-hood to late juvenile age. the main factor being his own mother. she appeared to harbor an idealistic image of herself which crumbled duwar's relationship to her. no matter how much the anxiety riddled pup begged for attention, consolation, or reassurance, yuliya always concocted a worst outcome. she'd invigorate gaudy competition with duwar and his littermates whom harbored as much confusion as him. with a tattered soul and beaten confidence, duwar mainly tucked his tail and scurried to an affectionate sire who cheerfully licked his wounds.
not one blamed duwar and his compulsory bond to his brother, galayn. they pressured each other and supported the other when in a tousle with yuliya. as they'd transform into young males, questions arose against their mother and reigning alpha female: why had she run the pack the way she did?; did she acknowledge the harm caused on the younger pups?; could she not change her ways a smidge for the benefit of the family? in spite of the brothers' pleads, she continued her ways. the repercussions left a miserable male as galayn left. duwar's older brother could not withstand yuliya no longer. so, he left. not even the grave of goodbye as he snuck out at night with the thought duwar slumbered—which he hadn't. too cowardly at the time, duwar shifted his head away and heard the last paw steps fade.
yuliya didn't care of galayn's departure and sindri understood why his son left (an experience that happened often). duwar couldn't bring himself to leave. in a few months, the wolf coped by doting on a younger sibling. her name was eren and she brought such an ease to duwar's hell. the natural bubbly personality eren somehow inherited impressed the male enough to hope the pack's chance at a better future could still prevail. however, the older he got, the torrent of bitterness grew with yuliya. her increased age led to less tolerance for mishaps as her outbursts became more frequent and targeted at duwar; one of the oldest pups to stay in her pack yet contribute little (in her eyes).
he wanted to go. duwar truly did. but he didn't want to leave eren abandoned. they'd grown close over her maturity and (he felt) the same incident with galayn shouldn't repeat. with coax, eren assured duwar his departure would leave her heartfelt but cheerful all the same. it was time he followed the path long overdue and seek a partner of his own to begin a new family. one he can be proud of. so, in his goodbyes, he nuzzled his sister and father as they walked him to the border. tears pricked all their eyes as empty promises to see one another again eased the pain of leaving. and he did.
granted, duwar's prolonged residency with his origin pack pushed good experience upon him: he knew how to hunt, how to use his nose, and what to look out for. someone not too young yet not too old—seek a place calm but stimulating—succeed in a family. all these challenges he overcame on his own. on his way to self-assurance, the male encountered none other than raë. at the time he could not guess she would hold such a large piece of his heart. in fact, he wanted to push the dame away because her views utterly diverged his own.
all raë did was flutter her lashes (framed her face beautifully) and swish her tail before she had the male locked onto her. okay, it took a couple of tries to appease him—but nonetheless! their dynamic inter-tangled in mutual respect and communication. they may not agree on most decisions or aspects, but their affection and understanding always to hurdled through. they compromised a lot—but, again, they were happy. anyone could imagine how anxious ridden and joyful duwar had been with the first few litters of pups. nonsense and worry of becoming his mother surfaced now and again, as expected. his mate guided the male into an optimistic mindset and eased him into becoming a well-deserving father. he provided, he protected, and he doted. he grew older—as did raë—and the united pair remained as one.
inevitably, all stories must have some sorrow. his beloved, in her older age, experienced a steady loss in hearing. she relied on body language and interpreted gestures. in one of her evening strolls, raë's frame entered a bad situation: the proximity between herself and a human child too close for comfort. as protection, a tourist in-knowledgeable to the area took a fatal shot for the forest to hear. the local wakin village people chastised and temporarily banned the man set to protect his child and carefully helped raë's dying body deeper into the territory for duwar's frantic find. as he saw her and attempted to let her hold on and fight longer, he saw the cloud of content and relief.
she'd remind him her death may be unfortunate, but the intent harbored no ill. raë grimaced in pain delivering the short sentence and continued to croak sweet nothings and adoration in duwar's ears. his cries and pleads fell on deaf ears before she finally slipped.
duwar's heart held some resentment for what happened. but he couldn't cling to hate for long. he understood raë's statement and respected it as she herself would if merely injured. in her memory, he howls each month at the crescent moon he faced alone without his mate. raë will never not grace duwar's memory and offer him strength to push on. in appreciation to the people that carried his mate's frame to him, duwar occasionally visited from afar and let the locals view his old frame. they gave him a new name he calmly received and kept.
CRESTFALLEN
genre: drama
His deep caramel eyes held epitomes of deep disappointment and crumbled expectancy. Great. All the hard work Duwar integrated his blood, sweat, and tears for flooded into the soil so quickly and rotted in a foul stench you couldn't shake off. It wasn't supposed to end here — you didn't plan to disappoint him. In the overwhelming silence stretched for miles, tears pricked and stung your eyes as you curated multiple efforts to blink them away.
With sorrow too great, you broke. A wretched sob (intermingled into a whine) pierced the surface and broke tension. The distance between the other canid and yourself did little to reap solution and piled into the hole of hopelessness you burrowed into. Raspy voice tipped in desperation and regret, your meek glances upward managed to lock to a cold one, "Duwar I... I'm sorry. Please, forgive me. I didn't mean to come back - I didn't mean to leave, either. But you just..." The jumbled and cracked sentences did little to help make sense and glue the predicament together. A stubborn nature the only thing which kept your heals grounded and stature upright. Otherwise, you'd befall much sooner.
With the hesitancy of your statement (in fear to insult the elder), the anchor and charcoal gray wolf decided to butt his own questions in, "I just what? Told you, a pup no less, something you hadn't wanted to hear? If you were more mature if-" his eyes shut tightly to refrain from continuing in a raised voice and feed into his heated emotions, "if I had raised you correctly, perhaps you would've been ready to leave and be smart enough to not return." His self-deprive and comment to your younger age left you ears to forward assertively and eyes narrow. In fact, even fur along your hind bristled.
"I'm not a pup, Duwar! You took too long to realize that. The term had no relation to my readiness - you're the one who couldn't see me grown up."
"So that's why you came back, hm? Is that it? No grown wolf would return to their mentor."
SNOWED OUT
genre: adventure , warnings: foul language
"Face it - we're not going to make it through this fucking storm!" The husky beside you, Wensworth, growled between clenched ivories. His huge figure could not fend off the malicious blizzard; it clawed at everyone's eyes, clung to their fur, and bit exposed noses. The wind roared in your ears and nearly deafened you. If the sun had been a beacon, then the blizzard would be its opposition.
In your swing dog position, sole reliance befell the canines in front whom braved the front. A frown surfaced lightly as your own teeth grit with the pressure and stress to continue. "We'll make it. We have to," you barked loudly for the majority to listen. The team's spirits didn't rise in your support and tightened instead. Reliant on one another served as a mood killer when the majority held no merit to continue an extended death sentence. Strength from the storm led to everyone's pace to slow; sight a privilege as canids sought for vision. You shook your head in defiance: your ending did not end like this. Never like this. Not with fear in your heart and blinded eyes begging miracles.
To answer the prayer to whomever deity heard, a large figure similar to everyone's own jumped in the middle pathway, blocking exit and entry. Everyone halted. Their expressions contained hope and their breathing exertion.
"Chew off your garments and follow my lead. I'll wait atop the hill," a deep voice instructed - objection dwindled to a mere cough. The safest bet was to follow suit - everyone held that piece of common sense. After the word delivery, the male hopped back atop the slope.
CAVED AFFECTION
genre: romance , warning: sexual
You wanted his troubled gaze to look at you with wander and lust—with passion only few engulf in. Yes, he made you feel safe a thousand times over with his security and protection. But now, with your body aflame in desire at its highest ovulation, all you craved settled within his physique. In its darkness the world made you optimize your other senses and stimulated excitement: Duwar's homely scent, his soft breaths, and the touch of tangled fur tickling your own. Only the two of you occupied the den—a good hide under a tree's gangly roots. His son had left days prior after his nose whiffed the warning of your estrus. It made Haven uncomfortable. The wish to court didn't rise so he inevitably parted until the cycle would end.
Since his son left Duwar could not leave the territory to its own devices as unwelcome guests most likely set afoot their paws with the inclination of no wolf present to acclaim the land. And, in his arrogance, his spirit to strain himself of you voiced itself often. Commonly, his flat rejection left you deflated more than once; Duwar held attraction and experience to fatherhood. Made him an easy target to pine for. Yet, you were a pup in his eyes. A female who knew no better after he aided you to escape a potential death (bison stampede). More than once you've also caught glimpses to his longing for Raë who never parted from his heart despite the dame's unfortunate end.
Now, in the night, you had a chance. A slim one, albeit. Still, if you missed it today the chance to miss the opportunity next season could occur. You had wanted a family of your own and wanted one type of partner only. All the male had to do was accept your affections. Few centimeters away his frame lay unbothered. His back's rise and fall signified a deep slumber. Licking your chops, butterflies fluttered at the pit of your stomach. A shaky breath exhaled. It was now more than ever.
