Maggie was already regretting getting so excited about going to Top Gun.  Not only did they have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn to make their way to Japan to get a commercial flight home, but because of military standby flying, she was stuck next to a bitchy lady and her asshole five-year-old.  Due to all of the screaming coming from both of them the entire flight, Maggie barely got a minute of sleep.  Drew, on the other hand, slept the whole time - a fact that was obvious once they got to San Francisco.  They were early, so they were allowed into the classroom after dropping their packs off at the barracks.  

Maggie headed straight to the back corner of the classroom and cuddled up in a chair.  As soon as Drew sat down, her head was glued to his shoulder and she was fast asleep.  Drew closed his eyes too while the rest of their Top Gun classmates filed into the classroom.  Neither really cared who was in their class, they were going to kick ass anyway once they had the energy.  

It didn’t take long for the rest of the program to file in.  Drew elbowed Maggie to get her to stand up at attention when the teachers of Top Gun walked in.  As soon as they were dismissed Maggie passed back out on Drew’s shoulder.

The topic of discussion that Viper was nothing Drew hadn’t already heard - same with Maggie.  Therefore, Drew decided to people-watch.  It was hard to really gauge the people he was around based on the back of their heads and the darkness of the room.

 As soon as the lights were flicked back on, Drew could tell most of them were super cocky - per usual.  But there was one person he recognized because of his sideways posture and arm around the blonde next to him.  Slider.

“Mags, Maggie, Margret,” Drew whisper-yelled, poking his pilot in the ribs.  She groaned and shot him her nastiest glare.

“What asshole?” Maggie sharply whispered back.  Viper spoke up with a warning, halting their conversation.  He walked toward the back where they were sitting and began talking about the best of the best.

The man that Drew had seen Slider next to turn around, his gaze focused on Viper.

“Oh fuck me,” Maggie breathed out, the first words popping into her brain that leave her mouth. 

“Nah, I think he’ll take care of you just fine,” Drew whispered back, his face straight.

“Well, I guess that you’re not the only one getting laid tonight, Stormy.”

Viper looked as thought he was going to leave the room, but instead he made eye contact with Maggie.

“Commander,” Viper started - causing everyone to look over at Maggie - including Tom.  Maggie’s breath hitched.  She could feel Tom’s gaze on her, but she knew better than to look away from her superior.

“I need to have a word with you.”

Maggie nodded, “Yes sir.”

He gestured for her to follow him and she stood up, looking at Drew with an “oh shit” look.

They walked in silence to his office, Maggie’s thoughts racing.  Why did Viper need to speak with her? Her husband was less than a mile away.

Viper sat at his desk and took his glasses off.

“I’m sorry to say this Commander Kazansky, but due to you and Lieutenant Kazansky being in close proximity during this session of Top Gun, my superiors have ordered that you are to go by your maiden name of Abbott throughout.  All of your provided amenities and such will be labeled by Abbott,” he held out an envelope, “these are your name tags for your uniforms.”

Maggie took it from him and responded in an orderly fashion.  She pulled the last name Kazansky off her uniform and passed it off to Viper.  All Viper did was sigh and dismiss her.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” She whispered, standing outside Viper’s office with her hands on her head, the envelope still in her right hand.

“Mags,” a voice said.

Maggie pulled her hands down and looked up.  Staring at her were the beautiful blue eyes she knew so well.

“Tom,” she breathed out, wrapping her arms around her husband.

“What’s wrong honey?” He asked, holding her face in his hands.

Instead of replying, all Maggie did was lock her lips with his.

Hi guys!  Sorry about no gif, my laptop was being a pain about posting, but I really wanted to get this up.  I am shocked at how much support this book has gained and I truly appreciate it!
