M (Moderator)
FOR OUR FIRST CONTESTANT, LET'S WELCOME JAGUNJAGUN.
JagunJagun 004
M: Hello JagunJagun, welcome to your diary session.
Q: How are you doing?
A: Thank you, I'm doing fine. Thanks.
Q: So you've been in the competition for how many weeks now? How do you feel about it?
A: Been here for over a week. And it's been thrilling.
M: If I were you, I'll be thrilled too.
Q: How do you feel about being in the project pen house? And have you bonded with anyone yet?
A: Getting in was quite a surprise, because I was freaking out when I registered. And isn't it too early to be bonding? I'm still observing, vibing too. But I don't think I've bonded with anyone per se.
Q: Have you ever felt uncomfortable in the house
A: I've never been uncomfortable in the house before, I've decided to enjoy myself.
M: It's great to see that you feel at home, fam.
Q: Which housemate(s) do you vibe with currently? And why?
A: TheVinylWriter, because she's a werey like me and S.A Writer too.
Q: So, which contestants do you feel will make it to the next stage.
A: Contestants 002, 007 and 014 seems like they have strong chances.
Q: Wow, why do you say so?
A: Imma be honest, reading their works kinda intimidated me. It's obvious they're great writers and they know what they're doing.
Q: Even with this slight feeling of intimidation, do you think you would make it to the next stage?
A: I have a strong hope, from the Judges' reviews, I saw that they were impressed. So, I think I have a shot.
M: I like your confidence.
Q: What do you think of the Judges' reviews generally and how did their review of your work make you feel?
A: So, I think the judges have a very nice way of putting their criticism. They have eyes for good work and can easily identify a writer with potential. And let me add that they are also professional hype men! My head almost exploded from their reviews.
M: I like the hypemen part! Everyone needs a little hype once in a while.
Q: So who do you think is likely to win based on what you've seen.
A: Contestant 002. That person writes fire! They have their way with imagery and dialogue. Their style is just so captivating.
M: Oh wow. Wow. At first, I thought you wouldn't be sure about it. But man, you sound so sure! I do like your honesty. It was really nice having you here. I'm rooting for you. For all of you. And I hope you keep striving to be yourself and keep believing in your art.β¨Best of luck, gee! We've come to the end of your diary session.
NEXT UP, LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR S.A WRITER.
S.A writer 008
M: Hello S.A writer, welcome to your diary session.
Q: You've been in this competition for how many weeks now? And how do you feel about it now?
A: I've been in the competition for I think almost three weeks⦠starting from the time I auditioned from the link I saw on instagram.
Well, I'm fond of doubting my writing ability. I am basically a lover of books. The ability to paint and describe activities on paper, give it life and create a world of my own where I can make anything that fascinates me happen. So when I got accepted in the competition it gave me hope that my writing isn't that bad.
M: Okay wow. That's amazing. I'm glad you know you can be a better writer.
Q: Have you bonded with anyone yet? Or who do you see yourself bonding with?
A: I don't really know much people here. But I love JagunJagun and thevinylwriter. Their vibe is out of the world. I like you (moderator 1).
You have this calm understanding aura about you. I like moderator 2 and Yourcrypticgrey as well.
M: Thank you so much.
Q: Have you ever felt uncomfortable in the house?
A: No. I have never felt uncomfortable. The competition is actually lovely. I got to meet lovely people, make awesome friends and broaden my knowledge on writing. It's fun, exciting and educative as well.
M: Amazing. It's good to know you feel this way about Project Pen.
Q: Which contestants do you think would make it into the next stage?
A: Hmmβ¦I think JagunJagun, Yourcrypticgrey, Thevinylwriter and DD Marx. I'm doubting I'll make it because two of the judges didn't really like my work.
M: Hmm. But don't worry too much, okay? You can still make it.
Q: Can you talk to me more about why you're doubting making it in to the next stage?
A: I made alot of mistakes concerning the story I wrote and two of the judges felt that I rushed the storyline. Three judges liked it so maybe it's possible that I may make it in.
M: Alright, let's keep being optimistic.
Q: What do you think about the Judges' review?
A: it's actually really confusing to be honest. But I noticed most of them complained about my punctuation so I'll work on that. One said it was edited, another one said it was rushed. Three liked it though. It's a bit confusing but anyways, I'm willing to take corrections.
M: it's nice to see that you're willing to take corrections. Keep it up.
Q: Who do you think is likely to win based on what you've seen?
A: To be honest I feel it's either JagunJagun, Yourcrypticgrey, Thevinylwriter or DD Marx.
Q: Why do you think so?
A: Their stories were really good.
M: All right. Thanks for being here. It was really nice talking to you. I'm rooting for you and I wish you all the best. We've come to the end of your diary session.
UP NEXT, LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR AYINKUS!
Ayinkus 001
M: Hello, Ayinkus. Welcome to your diary session.
Q: You've been in the competition for how many weeks now? How'd you feel? And how does it feel to be in the Project pen house?
A: Honestly, I don't know. How many weeks? I'll say two. Not sure though.
How it feels? omo!!! At first, it was like joke. Because I literally applied on the last day (some hours before registration ended) Now, that I'm in.. It's crazy. Some of my housemates are crazy for bread, others are so silent you won't even know they are there. While some if they don't talk that day, you'll know something is wrong.
M: I agree with the bread part; they really love bread.
Q: Which of the contestants do you vibe with and who do you see yourself bonding with?
A: JagunJagun, thevinylwriter, Dwordsmith and Pam.They are the people that make me smile no matter what.
M: I think they are really cool too.
Q: Have you ever felt uncomfortable in the house before?
A: Well, sometimes when I speak or say something and then the comments get ignored. It makes me feel like an outsider like some of them already know each other there before hand and you are just by the way. Sigh! I don't know. It's prolly all in my head, so I'll just work on it or better still limit my interactions.
M: Well, sometimes people might not really have anything to say to your comments. So it's not like they just want to ignore you.
Q: What do you think of the Judges' review?
A: Honestly, out of the five judges, two kinda made me sad. I would love to thank the first two judges: Judge purple and blue for liking it.
To those who read it, corrected it and gave their honest views, I appreciate it a lot.
There was a common thing amongst all they said, which I agree with. The sickler part was unbelievable and not needed in my story. But, in some cases some siblings actually don't know; especially if the sickler isn't emaciated and comes from a polygamous family where there is no tight bond. However, in my story it was out of place.
Another thing I learnt is that, even if it's Nigeria themed you don't need to drop Nigeria words in there. And trust me, I'm not one to be bitten twice. Thanks judge pink for that, Noted. Mmh To the judge who loved it, I love you. To the one who asked 'If I understand?' Yes, Yes I do. Oh yes, and to the one who said sho get? I get o!! Thanks for your detailed review, Judge orange, I appreciate. I appreciate you all.
M: I'm glad.
Q: Are you hopeful about making it into the next stage?
A: Well, I think so. My review is half-half so I'm not sure where I stand but I do hope and believe I make it into the next stage.
M: Great, love that.
Q: Last question! Who do you think is likely to win?
A: Ohhveeohh or JagunJagun.
M: We've come to the end of your diary session. Goodluck. I'm rooting for you.
NOW UNTO THE LAST, BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE LEAST, PAM!
Pam 014
M: Hello, Pam. Welcome to your diary session.
Q: How are you doing? So you've been in this competition for how many weeks now? How do you feel about it?
A: I'm good. For about a week and a half, it's not been long tho. Honestly, I so did not know that I was gonna make it. I love writing, but it takes a lot of courage to put it out there, yunno. I feel amazing, meeting with people who are also writers, knowing that I'm not the only one that gets nervous when someone is reviewing my works even if it's anonymous is very comforting.
Q: How do you feel about being in the house and have you bonded with anyone yet?
A: The feeling is amazing, it looks like the bond goes beyond being just housemates in the same house. There are talks of bread, uplifting people and all.
M: All thanks to the amazing team for creating a safe space like this and thanks to the contestants too, for cooperating.
Q: Have you ever felt uncomfortable in the house?
A: uhmmβ¦I don't think so.
Q: Which housemate(s) do you vibe with currently and why?
A: Vibe? I vibe with everyone who likes bread, who's currently online when I am online and of course the ones I knew before the house, VinylWriter and Jagunjagun.
M: Love your energy!
Q: Which contestants do you think would make it to the next stage?
A: I think DD max, Akira, JagunJagun. They wrote amazing pieces.
Q: Are you optimistic about making it to the next stage?
A: If you had asked me this before I saw the reviews, I would have said no, but I'm feeling optimistic.
Q: The reviews gave you hope right? Tell me more about how the reviews made you feel.
A: Yeah, they did. I was screaming all over the house like a mad woman when I read the reviews. I felt really amazinggggg. Knowing that my writing could be considered extraordinary and unique really really made me so excited, boosted my moral too and it made my day. Although, I'm curious about the part where a judge said I deserve a golden line and why were all the reviews not published?
M: Saying you deserve a golden line doesn't mean anything bad, it's nothing to worry about. The judge really loved your work and as for the reviews? Not all could give reviews because of their busy schedule and the work load was too much. So, some dropped thier verdicts on some works and gave reviews where they could.
Q: So who do you think will win?
A: Omor. I don't know. I honestly don't know, but we'll see how it goes. Everyone has potential, anyone can win. But I really hope I win.
M: Fair enough. We've come to the end of your diary session. I'm rooting for you. Good luck.β¨
