"HOGWARTS SOUNDS AMAZING," GAMBIT said coolly, listening intently as the four boys told her tales of their adventures in Hogwarts.

She was a little devastated she didn't get a letter, but the universe must be making it up to her, she thought.

"Hogwarts is our home. I'm sure it will be your home too," Peter smiled sweetly,

"Yeah well, how can it be my home if I've never been there?"

The boys nodded in unison, already knowing that James had a plan to take her there.

"We'll take you! To Hogwarts--sort everything out with Professor Dumbledore--"

"James.. I appreciate it but I can't leave the Orphanage now, Aunt Marge is gonna freak--"

"Who says we have to leave now?"
James smirked,

Gambit gasped, happy that he's willing to wait until she can leave, although she may never visit Hogwarts, it's nice to know James thought of taking her there.

The five of them stood in front of a house, waiting around as Sirius threw small pebbles on the second story window. The house had wooden pillars holding the roof of the porch as the windows were dimly lit seeing as it was around midnight, the curtain passed the window frame as a girl with red hair looked out her window.
Shocked to see four familiar faces, she immediately motioned to come through the window.

Sirius went in first, going in with his broom followed by Remus and Peter. James carried Gambit once again and they entered her room,

"--are you doing here..?! My parents are home they could--"

"Alright there, Evans?"
James asked, setting his broom in the corner as Gambit wiped her feet clean.

"Potter. Nice to see you I guess," The red head looked at Gambit, pleasantly surprised but confused, "Who is she..?"

"This here, is Gambit Gaunt--"

"Gaunt as in--"

"Yes as in Child of Gaunt. We thought it'd be nice to show her some things from the Wizarding world, she's never got the chance to see it herself," Remus explained, offering Gambit a seat on the bed.

Gambit apologized she intruded, but Lily reassured her,

"Oh it's alright Gambit, I've gotten used to them visiting with no warnings.." she sighed, "I'm Lily Evans. Also a wizard--just a Muggleborn one,"

Gambit nodded, glancing over at James,

"People who have Muggle parents,"
James chuckled as Gambit seems to have forgotten a few details, but he's happy to see the two girls be friendly with each other.

Lily showed her some of her school books as Gambit tried her best to pay attention with James giving her all sorts of wizard candy coming from his pockets, stacking on top of her.
Sirius sat down by the window, smoke coming out his cigarette as Remus helped Gambit understanding more about magic, while Peter explained the different types of wands.

"This is a lot to take in," Gambit smiled, her heart beating so fast while she saw pictures of Centaurs and Unicorns, Werewolves and Trolls.

She saw elvish creatures, all sorts of ingredients for potions (Potions seemed to excite Gambit, making Lily excited) Lily began talking about Potions once she noticed Gambit take interest, offering to help her brew potions.

"Really? You'd do that?"

"Of course! Not many likes Potions, I'm just happy to find someone who takes interest..!"
Lily grinned, rummaging through her drawers as she pulled out a few small books.

"Here," she handed the first book, "This is a book that has basic Potion names, it's causes and effects and it's ingredients," Lily gave her the other, "This is advanced Potions, more ingredients and complex brewing steps."

Gambit flipped through the pages, skimming through the words as she thanked Lily over and over again.

"You don't need to thank me--oh! You don't have to brew the Potions, it's best to memorize the names and such," Lily smiled before scolding Sirius about smoking.

"Quaffle?"

"Yeah--and each score is worth ten points. And this," James gave her a golden snitch, it's wings fluttering rapidly in her hands, "This is the golden snitch. Worth one-fifty points--it's an artificial one, of course."

Gambit nodded, holding the snitch between her two fingers while James continued to talk about his sport,

"The seeker goes for the snitch. Beaters have bludgers--what are bludgers again?"

"They're--erm.. They're like clubs!"

"That's right! They hit and defend the others you could say, and Chasers chase the what?"

"The Quaffle..!"
Gambit answered, trying to keep her voice down.

"Yeah, and Keepers can prevent the Quaffle from scoring--"

"Actually.. James? What's your role in Quidditch?"

James thought she'd never ask, he grinned as he flexed his arms,
"I'm the Gryffindor captain and Seeker, of course. The most amazing James Potter--winning the Quidditch cup for his team--"

"You never won the cup--"

"Shut it."
James threw Sirius a look as the boy smiled with smoke coming out the sides of his mouth,

While they talked, Gambit couldn't help but stare at Lily Evan. She looked familiar, almost like Ariel from the Little mermaid and her name is of the same of James' crush--

"James, is Lily the one in your note--"

The boy clamped a hand over her mouth, giving her a look. Gambit understood and stayed quiet, knowing that Lily had never received the notebook yet.

"Does Gambit know?"
Lily asked with knitted eyebrows,

"... Yes."

Lily chuckled, going back to reading her book.

"You two aren't--haven't dated?"
Gambit heard Lily scoff as James smirked,

"No. And we never will. Shove off, Potter..!"
Lily threw his arm away from her, a few laughs rumbled from the others.

Lily had already slept on her bed, while Remus tried to keep his eyes open. The other three continued to talk as Gambit's eyes looked at the clock.
4:47 AM

She stood up abruptly, her feet tangled up in the sheets, waking both sleepy Remus and Lily.

"Oh God. Oh God--shit!"

"Whats wrong?"
Peter asked, seeing the girl scrambling to open the window as Sirius got out of her way,

"I have to go back that's what's wrong, it's almost five!"

The four boys who took her gasped dramatically, mocking her a tad,

"What--"

"James will take you back, don't worry."
Sirius chuckled,

Gambit couldn't not worry. Five am was when they first get the wake up call, Five forty-five for waking up and breakfast in fifty.

She stayed silent, not wanting to ruin the fun they had but her face couldn't hide her anxious expression--as James noticed and took her back,

"I'll be back then we'll head out."

James grabbed his broom--going out the window on his broomstick as he waited for Gambit,

The girl grabbed the books she's received and said good bye to Lily and the boys, feeling James wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her out the window.

"Hey..! You could've waited more.."
Gambit exclaimed as she almost fell out of his grip,

"Oh shush, let's go now. Or people will see," James tipped his broom upwards, ascending to the clouds, "If you'd like, maybe we can go to a coffee shop with Lily tomorrow?"

"That'd be nice--I can see why you like Lily, she's very kind. I'm rooting for you James!"

The boy laughed, his nose crinkled as his glasses slid down, his eyes became clearer to Gambit. Rich brown eyes with hints of golden around, his eyes never leaving her earthy green, having lighter green flecks on the outsides of her eyes.

James cleared his throat as Gambit pushed his glasses back, smiling quietly as she waited until she was back home--leaning into James as the broomstick moved steadily and swiftly.
