Inside of the Blue Super Hornet's cockpit, Nicky watch the sunset over the horizon. Enjoying her last moments in that base.

"Thank you for letting me do this one last time Sir" she thanked the squadron leader who approached the jet

"Consider it a parting gift" he sat on the wing smiling friendly "just don't tell anyone" he whispered making her huff a laugh

"I'm going to miss this" she muttered running her fingers along the yellow line

"Our shows with your crazy ideas will be missed too" patting the pockets of his flight suit, he took out a white envelope "your last day with us and has already been called for a new job"

"what?" she asked confuse

She stretched out her arm taking the envelope that was handed to her and started reading quickly. She widened her eyes feeling the thrill of pride.

"Congratulations Swan" he smiled proudly "You deserve it"

Nicky didn't notice when she was alone again, reading and rereading the words printed on the letter. She was being called back to San Diego for a mission. But it didn't say more details.

What type of mission? She asked herself

Realizing that she would soon lose sight of the sun, she put the letter away along with her questions. With the longing already anticipated she enjoyed her last minutes in the great navy angel.
