Bending across the table, I adjust my cue to hit the white ball.

"I think it's the first time I wake up in the girl's bed, without the girl" said a voice behind me holding my waist "And I haven't seen you all day either"

"Did you sleep together?" Natasha asked looking at me accusingly.

"We just slept, tasha" I reply straightening up.

"Unfortunately" Jake sighed disappointed causing me to elbow him lightly in the stomach

He glared at me, squeezing my waist. I shrug.

"What are you laughing at Coyote?" he asked seeing his friend cover his mouth with his hand.

"No big deal" he shrugged his shoulders still smiling "Didn't you want to grab a drink?" asked me malicious

I gather my eyebrows, confused

"I'll go" Jake said putting my thigh "I was going to get something for me too"

"You dint need to..." I try to deny taking his hand

"Relax princess" he smiled at me and went to the bar

I stare at him until I hear Javy cough next to me. Turning to him, I see that he could barely contain his laughter. Natasha was beside him and Bob was behind her.

"What?" I ask confused "Seriously dude, what are you laughing at?"

"Girl, you have it in the palm of your hand. Didn't you notice?"

"If they slept together, he must be getting her too" Natasha said with a smirk.

"We just spent the night in the same bed" I sigh wanting to hit them with my cue.

"But, it's against the rules" Bob said with a frown.  He was cute.

"Leave them man" Javy said with a smile "Nicky, seriously, why don't you give it a go?"

"It's not that simple" I say seeing Jake looking at me from afar.  When our eyes meet, he smiles making me copy the gesture.

"Why? You like him, and he's clearly into you, so why keep torturing him?" he insisted

Bradley. He was the reason.

I didn't like Jake picking on him. Yeah, he does that to a lot of people. But Brad? He was the favorite.

And Bradley is already acting like an idiot to me because of Maverick. If I started dating Jake without really talking to him, things would go from bad to worse.

I don't answer and start fiddling with the charms on my bracelet.

Jake came back and handed us the glass bottle. I smile at him accepting the drink. My eyes run over his face until they land on his eyes. He found it strange and tilted his head a little with his brows furrowed.

Working up my courage, I take another step, pressing my lips to his. It only lasts a few seconds, and when he tries to deepen, I pull away with a smile.

Turning back to the table, I make my shot, hitting two balls into the holes. Looking at our colleagues, I see them with their mouths open.

Jake was no different. He was frozen and wide-eyed.

"Your kiss brought me luck" I say before taking a sip of my drink "I beat Natasha. Want to play with me?"

He stuttered trying to form words, causing more laughter from Javy.

"I don't think so. We both know how you're going to cheat and make me lose."

"It wasn't my fault you couldn't take your eyes off my cleavage"

"How about a walk on the beach?" Jake proposed

"Only if you play a game with me" He sighed looking away "I promise to be good"

I was not good. A few kisses on the cheek and a few pecks on the mouth and I'm celebrating my victory.

"You'll pay me woman" he threatened staring at me

"I'll be waiting" I smile intertwining our fingers pulling him to the door. "Come on. We have a walk on the beach"
I wave to our friends in farewell. Ignoring their strange looks.

Our walk on the beach was peaceful and lively. Almost romantic. Our hands still together, we enjoyed the gentle breeze off the beach.

Maybe Javy is right. Why not give it a try?

Every second I spend with Jake, every kiss we steal from each other, every memory that comes back to when we were still training at Top Gun, even with his teasing, the less important I give to Bradley's opinion.
