30⋆Wish
"Oh, a shooting star!" Seonghwa lifts his hand and points out the window, before wrapping his arm tightly around Yeosang again.
"Remember to make a wish," Yeosang mumbles through a small yawn, cuddling in closer against Seonghwa's chest.
It's getting quite late, but neither of them wants to go to bed, risking to miss out on this beautiful moment they are sharing in Yeosang's old room. Seonghwa nuzzles his nose into Yeosang's brown hair, inhaling the scent he loves the most in the whole world. The scent of comfort, happiness. The one that brings out the most beautiful feelings inside of him, like the calming smell of the first summer rain.
Seonghwa briefly closes his eyes while making a wish. A wish for this moment to never end, to never have to spend one single day without Yeosang by his side.
"I'll love you forever," Seonghwa whispers softly, holding Yeosang even tighter in his embrace.
"Forever is a long time," the younger snickers, "you'll probably get tired of me."
"I could never get tired of you, don't say such foolish things."
Speaking these words out loud, not even forever seems long enough for his love for Yeosang. All the fights they have had, all the angry words, the tears, all the doubt and confusion; everything seems so far away when they are sitting together, looking at the stars.
"We should go on a trip someday. Where would you like to go?" Seonghwa asks, already knowing that he would be happy to go anywhere as long as they are together.
"I don't know? I would really like to travel outside of Korea one day. Maybe even move overseas at one point, it's been a dream of mine for a very long time."
Seonghwa nods at the younger's reply, listening closely when Yeosang continues on telling him how he chose his line of studies due to his wish of moving away someday. To get far away from Korea and all the bad memories which had held him back from being able to truly find himself.
Yeosang's voice starts getting a little shaky when he mentions how he'll probably never do it, because that would mean he would leave his father behind. His father who has worked so hard to give him the best life possible despite everything that had happened in their small family.
"Well," Yeosang clears his throat while shuffling around a little in Seonghwa's warm embrace, "first of all I need to graduate and get myself a job. Earn some money and be able to take care of my dad, like he's taken care of me for so long. He worked so hard for my sake, but we both knew it would never be enough for me to go to one of the top universities. But I had to get in, so I worked hard too and eventually got in on a scholarship."
"You're an amazing person, Sangie," Seonghwa says just as he places a kiss in the brown hair. If it was even possible for him to fall even deeper in love, it definitely just happened.
"I'm really not. I've been so horrible to you..." The warmth of Yeosang's body is fading as the younger moves away and sits up to face Seonghwa instead. "I'm sorry."
Although the look in his eyes is so heartbreakingly sad, Seonghwa can't help but smile. The soft glow from the small lamp on the wall is lighting up the younger's face just perfectly, making him look ever so magical. Yeosang tilts his head to the side, his hair falling over his eyes like a beautiful wave of the ocean in the early morning sun.
"Please, stop apologizing. None of that matters anymore," the corners of Seonghwa's lips curl up in an assuring smile as he looks at Yeosang who is still looking at him with those sad eyes.
"I'm just afraid that I will hurt you again. And that I..." Yeosang briefly closes his eyes while taking a deep breath, "... That I'll end up losing you."
A small tear is threatening to break free from the corner of his eye as he nervously looks up at Seonghwa.
"Already told you not to say foolish things, didn't I?" Seonghwa leans in, gently pushing Yeosang's hair away from his eyes.
The way the warm glow is falling over the younger's face reminds Seonghwa of the night they met at the night club and sat down outside. How the lamppost had illuminated that perfect face the exact same way the small wall lamp now is doing it. He remembers how Yeosang's eyes had sparkled when he had gazed at the stars, and now they are sitting there doing to same thing, together.
A bittersweet feeling hits Seonghwa's heart when he remembers what Wooyoung had told him; the reason why Yeosang loves to look at the stars. His wish to be something so beautiful, but so far away. Something that people would look at and admire.
And so, Seonghwa decides to withdraw the wish he had made earlier. Instead he makes a wish, a promise to himself to make Yeosang understand that he shines just as brightly as everyone else in the world. And that he already is something so beautiful and admirable.
"Do you want to go to Paris with me someday?" Seonghwa suddenly hears himself ask.
"Paris?"
"Yeah... I-I know it sounds cheesy, but you know how it's called "the city of love", right? I've always told myself that I'd go there when I met someone I truly loved." A slight blush dances over Seonghwa's cheeks as he confesses. And although he spent years in a relationship with Tzuyu he never even once thought about taking her there.
"I... I always wanted to go there," Yeosang whispers shyly, rocking a little from side to side while biting his lower lip to hide a growing smile.
"Then that's our promise to each other, right? We will go there together."
They seal their promise with a kiss, and Seonghwa could swear that their lips were made only to fit so perfectly onto each other's.

Seonghwa spends the rest of the Christmas Holidays with Yeosang and despite it being two whole weeks, time just flies by. Seonghwa loves every single second of being with his amazing boyfriend, just doing whatever they feel like in the moment. Going to see a movie, just walking around, watching some street performance in Hongdae, cooking dinner together at home and enjoying the meal with Yeosang's dad.
But there is one thing they aren't doing; sleeping together. Even when being home alone in the apartment all they do is cuddle. Seonghwa kind of feels like they have hit the reset button on their relationship and history with each other, and he actually likes that. How everything now seems so cute and innocent, and how they are really, truly getting to know each other.
At the same time Seonghwa is trying to gain the confidence to tell Yunho and Mingi about his relationship with Yeosang. Although he had felt rather confident about sharing the news a couple of weeks earlier, he now feels so anxious about it. In the end he realizes it's only because his love for the younger has gotten even bigger, and even the smallest threat of ruining anything between them is scaring him to death.
When the day has come for them to return to the dorm Seonghwa feels kind of sad. It's like they have been living in their own little winter wonderland and he definitely doesn't want to leave that. Seonghwa has had his phone turned off pretty much every day, only turning it on now and then to check if there's anything important happening. He's received a couple of passive aggressive text messages from his mother, but other than that nothing special. Nothing would be more important to him than finally spending his Christmas not being stressed out all the time because of his family.
"Thanks for letting me stay all this time, Mr. Kang," Seonghwa smiles, receiving a warm hug from Yeosang's dad as they say goodbye at the door.
Yeosang has just run back to his room to grab his charger, while Seonghwa is standing in the hall-way with both of their bags over his shoulders.
"You are always welcome here, Seonghwa," Mr. Kang says, eyes watering up behind his glasses, "thank you for making my son so happy. I have never seen him like this before. Thank you."
Seonghwa's own words are getting stuck in his throat, but for once it's purely because of the happiness which rushes through him. His face turns into one big smile when he hears Yeosang's dad say those words, and when Yeosang returns from his room the smile grows even bigger. The younger grabs his bag from Seonghwa's shoulder before saying goodbye to his dad. Afterwards he and Seonghwa walk towards the metro, it's time to return to reality again but Seonghwa will never forget this Christmas and he already knows now that it'll forever be one of his favorite memories.

"Hey, you're back too!" Hongjoong's cheerful voice calls out behind Seonghwa.
Seonghwa looks over his shoulder as he picks up the bag from the counter. He has run to the nearest convenience store to grab some food and snacks for him and Yeosang, who is resting in Seonghwa's room.
"Joong! Ah, it's so good to see you. Did you enjoy your Christmas?" Seonghwa asks, for once not feeling bummed out about the whole Christmas thing.
"Yep, good as always," Hongjoong practically sings, "how about you though?" The frown that shows on Hongjoong's face indicates his worry that his best friend has had to suffer through two weeks in his parents' presence again.
"It was all I could ever wish for," Seonghwa smiles as they two of them walk out the store together.
Hongjoong looks confused, which Seonghwa had expected as he usually hates Christmas.
"I spent it with Yeosang," he then adds, and Hongjoong lights up in a bright smile.
"Ah! Now it makes sense!" Hongjoong laughs, "I'm glad you had a good time. Let's all hang out one of the days, okay?"
"Of course, see you!"
The friends part ways and Seonghwa walks to his room, humming while swinging the bag around. They still have a couple of days left before classes start up again, and for maybe the first time in his life he doesn't want to go back to his studies.
When he returns to his room, he sees Yeosang sleeping on the bed with the pillow hugged tightly against his chest. Seonghwa quietly puts the bag down and walks over to sit on the bed.
"I'll always love you, Yeosang," he whispers, gently stroking the younger's soft cheek, "you are the one."
