Since there's a ten-year age gap between her and Dora, she was the youngest (and only girl) for the longest time, so she's a bit of a brat. Between her siblings, though they're all intelligent in their own rights, she's still the "prodigy," having gone through her education much faster than the average Joe. So not only does she always get what she wants, she's also pretty arrogant at times. Luckily, the more negative side of her personality has waned throughout the years; through her friendship with Gwen, her apprenticeship with Bruce Banner, and eventually working with the greatest minds in the world. Though, it still unconsciously comes out from time to time, which makes people quickly dislike her. But even so, she remains unbothered.

She's generally the type of person who prioritizes her work more than anything. Nothing, no one, stands in between her and her work, which ends up with her appearing stand-offish and aloof. She rarely ever lets people in, and though has many 'friends,' often sees them more as acquaintances and/or co-workers. The only people she actually holds close to her heart are Gwen, and her family. Along with them are people she holds in high regard, which includes Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, and Helen Cho.

Over the years, she's grown to appreciate people's company, realizing their importance and value. She became more welcoming to new people, more playful, and even lets out her childish side. But still, she holds some biases, often preferring to talk to people of higher intelligence (especially those with degrees in higher education), or (surprisingly) children, because they're often more open minded to new ideas and topics, and are usually willing to learn about what she has to say.

She believes that if she wasn't doing what she's doing now (working in the labs with Bruce, Tony, and Helen), she would probably be a college professor.

Alina was a sort of last minute decision for me. Though she was also (admittedly) based off myself (though a smarter, louder version of myself), she was also heavily based off Temperance Brennan from another one of my favorite crime shows Bones. Obviously, Alina's not a forensic anthropologist, nor does she have an inherent disregard of psychology. She is, however, very focused and goal-oriented.

Like I mentioned before, Gwen was originally supposed to be paired off with Hotch, but a lot of people wanted her to be paired with Spencer, which I'm actually very happy about because I really like their dynamic. But I still wanted to write for Hotch, and I also wanted it to still be a crossover with Marvel, so I came up with Alina. Someone who's more than ten years younger than him (I'm not sure exactly what year Hotch was born as there are so many inconsistencies surrounding his birth year, but regardless of which birth year you choose, there's still a ten year age gap) and more than a foot shorter than Aaron. I just liked the idea of him falling for someone who's practically his opposite. Obviously, there are similarities, but it's still not as significant as their differences.

I've just always pictured Alina as someone outspoken and loud, and along with that, she has no filter. I can just picture Hotch being so flustered all the time, completely caught off-guard and, ugh, I love them so much y'all don't even know.
