THE SMELL OF morning was one of the first scents selene smelt as she woke up in the morning. the clock on her bedside table read that it was 10:04. she recalled timothée saying he would arrive to the destination around noon.

pulling her hair up and out of her face she made her way out of her room and into the bathroom to get ready for the day.

the water she splashed on her face was like an extra awakening for the girl. as she stared in the mirror at herself leaving her mind free to draw out the fantasies the day could possibly hold. a smile appeared on her face due to the thoughts as she put her toothbrush and made her way out of the bathroom.

when she arrived at the kitchen it was empty which was odd because usually brigetta would be up trying out a new crazy recipe. but to be fair selene never was one to wake this early so maybe brigetta was still deep in her slumber.

well that's what the girl would've believed if she didn't hear a loud thump from the girls room when selene let out a yawn.

the blonde girls room was on the main floor while nicolas' and selene's were on the second floor.

slowly approaching the door selene softly knocked on it. noise was heard on the other side of the door but she was soon met with the face of her blonde bombshell friend.

"morning luce del sole!" selene said a confused smile on her face yet her voice remained cheerful.

"eh morning sels!" brigetta responded but it was clear her thoughts were full.

"you...ok in there?..." selene asked curiously.

"oh yea mhm hmm!" brigetta responded giving a tight lipped grin.

selene narrowed her eyes and before she could stop herself words started pouring out of her mouth like water all out of curiosity.

"have you seen nico?" she asked tilting her head and smiling slightly.

"nico? as in nicolas? nope. not even at all!" brigetta said quickly.

"oh well ok then. i'll leave you to...whatever you were doing." selene said smirking and turning to make her way back to the kitchen.

as she sat sipping on peach juice and flipping through pages of a magazine she heard brigetta enter the kitchen. she wore white silk button lounge shirt and white silk shorts to match. her hair was down and frizzy but the girl didn't seem to mind as she went in her tippy toes to reach the cereal.

selene watched in observation as the girl made her breakfast. she wondered why the girl was acting odd but was snapped out of her thoughts by the sound of the front door shutting and nicolas walking in.

"morning la mia rosa and la bestia" nicolas said as he made his way into the kitchen.

"how dare you call selie a beast?!" brigetta gasped dramatically.

"actually she was my rose. you can figure out the rest." nicolas said sipping the peach juice selene once claimed as her own whilst selene laughed and brigetta expressed fake hurt.

"where are you coming from nico?" selene asked closing her magazine.

nicolas stiffened. out of the corner of her eye she saw brigetta fluster as well. her face curled up in a smirk.

"oh i was just out with friends last night and crashed at one of theirs." nicolas said giving a faint laugh.

" do you not wear socks or shoes when you're out with your friends?" selene asked realizing the boy had nothing on his feet.

he mumbled something under his breath as brigetta almost choked on her cereal and sunk her head down and selene kept a smile lit on her face.

"things get pretty while when you party to hard i guess." nicolas said trying to divert the topic.

selene knew there was more to it than he was letting on but she dug around enough for the time being.

"mhm hmm, anyway i have to get dressed." selene said taking the peach juice from nicolas and finishing it before making her way to her room.

"wait! dressed for what? you have plans today?" brigetta asked walking to put her bowl in the sink.

" yup." selene said smiling brightly as she thought about the curly haired boy.

"oh i know that smile. i know that smile all to well. who is he?" nicolas said walking up to the girl and smushing her face in his hands.

"he?! you've met a boy selie?!" brigetta says excitement filling her voice as she turn around quickly.

"maybeeee" selene dragged out as she swatted nicolas' hands away.

"what's his name?" "is he from around town?" "where did you meet him?" "is he cute?!" we're just some of the questions selene's beloved roommates ambushed her with.

"you'll meet him soon. hopefully. i'm not sure. gotta go!" selene said smiling at the pair skipping off to her bedroom.

"wow. well what're your plans for today?" nicolas turned to ask brigetta.

"nothing much really." the blonde shrugged.

"well, wanna grab lunch?" he asked.

"sure" brigetta responded with a smile.

back in her room selene fixed the pink fabric of her dress to her liking before making her way over to her vanity to fix her hair.

she shifted her eyes over to the clock observing the time and finished up quickly before making her way out her room and eventually out of her house after saying her goodbyes to her roommates.

selene made her way into town smiling and waving at the townspeople. the bold bright colors filled her vision as she passed many shops on her way to her destination. the bustle of the town gave off a chaotic noise but she didn't seem to mind as she kept a smile on her face and pep in her step.

arriving to her destination she felt nostalgic gazing at the blue door. she looked around for the boy she grew fond of but didn't see him yet. maybe he got lost. he was a tourist after all. so she waited for him.

"timmy you've just met this chick! you sure she's not gonna chop your knocker off right?" sebastian said to the pale boy.

"hey i hope not" timothée said giving a laugh.

" i say go for it timmy boy!" cassandra said ruffling the boys curls.

"hey hey not the curls he's spent hours making sure they were all curled exactly to perfection!" alexander said swatting his sister's hand away and going to fix the boys curls only to ruffle them some more.

"hey hey! i did spend time on these!" timothée said moving his head out of the boys reach.

"okay okay! just be safe kid. have fun but don't bring back any italian-american babies now!" sebastian said hong his best friend a slight shove.

"no promises." timothée winked before turning to walk away but stopping quickly.

"that was just a joke by the way. i don't plan that just yet. i've only know-" he started.

"GO!" all three friends shouted at once.

"nerd." cassandra said letting out a scoff as the trio watched the boy make his way over to the store with the blue door.

"pizza?" sebastian asked pointing in a random direction.

"sure but the pizza parlor is this way." alexander said pointing in the opposite direction.

"no...it's this way." cassandra said pointing at a slant.

"i could've sworn it was this way though." sebastian said beginning the on going bickering between the three.

timothée made his way over to selenes figure he had traced multiple times in his mind.

"well hello stranger!" timothée said walking up to the girl who has her back to him.

she jumped and stumbled back into him before turning around to meet his eyes.

"you scared me silly!" the dark-haired girl exclaimed lightly swatting his chest.

"whoops." timothée said shooting her a wink making the girl lightly fluster.

he didn't know where this burst of confidence was coming from but it seemed to stick around and he seemed to like it a lot. and so did selene.

"anyway i guess i should tell you where we are as it's my duty of tour guide." selene said laughing and walking over to the blue door and knocking on it.

soon a familiar male opened the door.

"lorenzo?" timothée asked in confusion yet still with a smile.

"ciao ragazzo amante!" lorenzo cheered.

"well i know what ciao means so, ciao!" timothée said with a laugh making selene laugh as well.

on her part the laugh was more out of admiration. seeing the smile on timothée's face made her heart feel like it was being tickled by a feather, her stomach rumbled with butterflies, and her face kissed with a pink glow. but she pushed those feelings aside knowing a relationship wasn't her thing as they always seemed to make her feel like she was floating only to be yanked back down from being up in the clouds.

"come on in you two angurie" lorenzo said opening the door wider.

"did you just call us...watermelons?" selene asked stifling a laugh.

"maybe." lorenzo replied with a cheeky smirk.

the trio burst into laughter as they all made their way inside. inside was a quaint hallway with stairs. they made their way over to the stairs and began to walk up them.

at the top of the stairs was a round-top wooden door that lorenzo opened.

"honey i'm home!" he called out waiting for a reply from his wife.

"i thought i told you not to come back this time!" isabella said jokingly coming into view as she exited the kitchen holding a tiny human in her arms.

"rosalie il mio piccolo gnocchetto!" selene said going over to greet her baby niece.

"well nice to see you to sister." isabella said allowing selene to hold rosalie.

"hello timmy dear!" isabella said making her way over to the boy and taking his face in her hands and giving it a light smush.

"nice to see you again is!" timothée said allowing his face to be smushed and giving a smile.

" ok ok before you kidnap my daughter and claim her as your own and you take my wife, let's get you kids what you came for. follow me!" lorenzo said making his way to one of the many rooms in the hallway.

the young pair followed the older man as they arrived at a closet door lorenzo opened for two bikes to come into view.

"well have at 'em!" lorenzo said making a hand gesture towards the bikes.

selene and timothée smiled at each other before going to grab the bikes.

the pair bid their goodbyes and timothée even got a little giggle out of the little baby rosalie making selene's heart jump a little.

"i expect you to have my money soon. don't think i forgot about our bet old man." isabella said bouncing rosalie in her arms as she looked up at her husband who just chuckled at her whilst closing their door.

the pair peddled around the city as selene pointed out some sights and timothée took pictures of them. he even snapped a few of the girl in moments she wasn't looking. her raw beauty made him loose in the knees in the best way possible. but when she would strike a pose once she caught him snapping pics his knees were near nonexistent.

"over this way!" selene called out to the boy as they cut into a little trail in between the trees.

"is this where you're going to brutally murder me?" timothée asked jokingly.

selene let out a laugh that was much louder than she expected.

"depends. you're in good water right now." she said quickly turning to smirk at him.

the duo soon arrived to their destination. a body of water stood before them. selene hopped off of her bike and placed it down gently timothée doing the same.

"this is my place. my area where i come to just breathe and take in this crazy thing called life." selene said overlooking the water.

timothée didn't reply but his silence in itself was a answer. he looked out at the water but couldn't help but turn to look at the girl as she seemed to be infatuated with the view. he was infatuated with her however.

suddenly the girl began stripping of her clothes and timothée's eyes widened in shock but he looked away out of respect.

"woah woah i didn't know it was this kind of party!" timothée said with a laugh.

"oh hush. it's just a swim on a hot day is all." selene said now adorning a black undergarments.

selene reaches out and grabbed timothée's hand letting him know it was ok to look. he turned and tried his hardest to keep his eyes up but then again it was very hard for him. smiling selene giggled, let go of his hand, and jumped into the blue water.

timothée looked down as her head resurfaced after a short while.

"you coming in?" selene called up at the boy.

"i don't have a bathing suit." he called back down.

"who said i had one either." she called again.

she was farther down but timothée could still make out the smirk evident on her face. he quickly began to dismiss of his clothes before jumping down into the water as well.

the coolness hit his face and awoke him. he came back up to the surface to see the girl awaiting him with a smile.

"guess you are some fun my american boy." selene said giving him a wink.

"my american boy" that repeated over and over in his head as he swam around in the cool blue waters with the girl he had became intrigued in despite only knowing her for a short amount of time.

after a while in the water timothée found himself laying upon a rock hitting down plot ideas whilst eating strawberries selene had brought along. she was still in the water swimming about humming a melody that was simply beautiful.

she soon made her way out of the water and timothée grabbed his camera to snap a pic of the landscape. turning his camera for a good angle he was met with the angel face of the girl smiling brightly into the lens. smiling himself he snapped a picture.

she walked over and took her place next to him on the rock to dry off in the warm sun.

"watcha' working on over there?" selene said leaning over towards the boy.

"just some plot ideas." he responded back.

"may i?" she asked referring to her being able to see the note book.

he nodded and handed her to burgundy leather book that held the many thoughts in his head. along the pages were random doodles and words formatted together to make a plot in a way.

"i like this one." the girl spoke not taking her eyes off the page.

timothée peaked over her shoulder to see which one had caught her attention but his heart dropped once he saw what was in the page.

"today i met a girl in town..."

he quickly took the book from her grasp carful not to harm her in any way.

"th-thats nothing. i was just keeping a- a -um.." timothée started.

"a diary?" selene said with a smile.

"in a way." timothée replied with a smirk.

"i like it though. it has potential. a boy meets a girl in italy and falls in love. she's a singer him and actor. they have many adventures and he love they share is thriving with passion and hope. hope they'll have an everlasting love." selene said gazing off into a dream land as she spoke.

all timothée could do was look at the girl. in wonder of how she could just be so intriguing so effortlessly.

"i think you just made yourself my muse miss selene." timothée said with a toothy grin.

"it's not a bad thing if i did." selene said matching his smile.

the two held a gaze that spoke many words yet neither seemed to decipher it. for in fact maybe no one could.

" now that i've helped you, do you think you could help me with something? it's okay if not" selene asked softly.

"sure of course. what is it?" timothée asked sitting up a little.

"i'm working on this new song but i think it needs a male part in it...do you think you could just hum along or song it if you prefer. i can show you the notes and melody." selene asked shyly for once.

"hey, of course. show me how it goes but fair warning my pipes may be a bit rusty." timothée said jokingly clearing his throat.

selene showed him how it went and soon she was sat up singing her part as he awaited for his entrance.

" here for the nosedive, whatever you need. and I'm savin' all the bold lines, i'll say 'em while you sleep"

timothée watched the girl as she sung with such grace. this had been the first time he'd hear her voice right in front of him.

"you're sleepin' on the wrong side, and I'm turnin' endlessly. screamin' for my lifeline, lifeline, life."

she looked up from her song book and to him only to be met with his eyes. they shared a smile before she continued on.

"ooh, continental drifter, still, I'm the hero of my hometown. now i'm all laid up with you, sentimental trickster. maybe in another lifetime, lifetime, life"

she smiled at him letting him know it was his part now. he smiled back and looked down at the lyrics giving it his best go.

"in a strange land, with no plans surrounded by doors, yeah. i can't find myself anymore. with foreign people, you're my temple. i want things like they were before. but I don't know myself anymore"

selene let out a soft gasp. she wasn't expecting him to be as good as he was. sure he wasn't the best but neither was she. his voice made her tummy do flips and she blushed like a wreck at the melodic sound of it.

" with you, love was simple, my spiritual crystal, but now life is limbo, i'll wait for tomorrow."

he looked up at her as it was now their time to sing together.

"ooh, continental drifter. still, I'm the hero of my hometown. now i'm all laid up with you, sentimental trickster. maybe in another lifetime, lifetime, life"

the two held eye contact throughout the verse and after it ended. the contact held a million words. it was heavy and even a boulder couldn't break it. the two were close. five inches maybe. and then four. but it was four inches to soon as selene pulled away past relationships haunting her brain.

" i have work at 5 and it's pretty close to then." she said trying to play off how close the pair were.

"o-oh yea well um we should get these bikes back and get you there!" timothée said trying to play off his damp mood.

for he was so close and the spot, the light, the moment, everything was so nice. yet he didn't do it.

the two quickly dressed and hopped back on the bikes riding back into town both of their brains filled with to many thoughts to contain yet for the time being the brain is where they would stay.
