― Yara is a proud Peruvian-American teenager. She's gotten some shit before for her race and she's learned not to let anyone talk down to her because of it. She's the older sister with somewhat-absent parents so she's more mature for her age than one might expect. She's the tough-love sort of person where she complains about her family but would beat up (physically or verbally) anyone else who made fun of them along with her.
       ― That being said, she does sometimes feel like a second fiddle when her parents are around. They're always focused on "amazing Xia" because she's an up-and-coming prodigy singer. They stop everything for her at the drop of a hat while they ship Yara off to a four-year boarding school. There is some bitterness between the girls (though mostly just on Yara's side) and she usually does her best to ignore Xia unless it's an emergency. Xia is also adopted, which her parents take great pride in and try to give the younger girl a better life than she would've had at the orphanage. However, they sometimes go a bit overboard (for example, moving out to CA when Xia gets a chance at a music deal) to show that they love her. 

― This is where Zack & Cody come in. Yara's parents moved them to Boston during Suite Life ( the first series ) so Xia could attend a prestigious boarding school while Yara went to school with the twins. Zack immediately thought she was cool when she pulled a prank on Mr. Moseby at her first day in the hotel.  (This can be shown in a flashback or prologue; you definitely don't have to write for the original Suite Life series unless you really want to.)
      ―  "Cody?" "Yeah?" "You know how you want to go to Harvard when you're older?" "Uh-huh?" "I just figured out my long game." 

― I chose "Martín" as Yara's last name because it's so close to Zack & Cody's and I intended for it to be a running joke. (Hence "when we get married you won't even have to change your last name!") Also, you'll notice that Xia's and Yara's first names are close to the end of the alphabet. In the flashback/prologue you could have either Esteban or Moseby come up with their nickname "XYZ" (for Xia, Yara and Zack) and they are addressed as such whenever they're together.

― Zack & Yara's relationship will be a lot like Shawn & Juliet's if you've read my Boy Meets World book Ocean Eyes. Zack would often "propose" to her but Yara knows he's a flirt so she isn't interested in him (or tries not to be, at least.) 
     ― These conversations usually go one of two ways: "Yara, will you marry me?" "No, Zack." "What if I asked you in Spanish?" or (usually when she's more annoyed) "Yara, will you marry me?" "¡no hay tutía, zack! It's never gonna happen!"

― This one is definitely a slow burn since Yara constantly rejects him because she doesn't think he's serious about his feelings so Zack dates other girls even though he doesn't really have feelings for them. More in the second half of season 2 or even season 3 they have a sort of heart-to-heart where Yara realizes that there's more to her best friend than just being a class clown. 
      ― Remember the move to CA that I mentioned earlier? This is when it happens. She receives an email or letter from them saying that Xia's been picked up by a music company but it would be more convenient if they moved out west. She gets upset because they never even considered asking for her opinion in their decision and goes to the bow of the ship where she knows no one would find her. 
      ― Zack is the only one who knows her hiding place and he finds her there. She tells him about the news and then asks if he's ever felt second fiddle to Cody because of how smart his brother is. At first he wants to laugh off his answer but when he realizes that she's being serious, he admits that yes, he does and (honestly) explains why. They become closer after that and eventually Yara realizes that she has feelings for him. 

― I don't really have any opinions for Yara's relationship with the other characters but maybe Woody would be scared of her because of how tough she is. Eisa Hansen (played by Alisha Boe) is her roommate but they don't see each other very much because of their conflicting schedules and Eisa has a lot of (sporty) extra-curriculars. 

― Feel free to use any of the graphics provided when creating the book, but make sure you credit me as the creator in addition to the plot. Also, you don't have to use all the quotes provided in the 'description + epigraph' section but I wanted to make sure I got the right vibe across.
