TWO

Langdon had been at Outpost 3 for a few weeks now, and Pandora had yet to have her 'cooperation'. And this considerably bothered the girl. She was on-edge every day, waiting for a Grey to escort her to the interviewing room, but it never seemed to happen. Honestly, Pandora was frustrated, she was the only person left without talking to Langdon and she didn't know why he was dragging out the process.

Pandora dreaded that Langdon had already made his decision on who to take back to the Sanctuary. But her doubts thankfully came to an end as a tall woman, called The Fist, informed the girl that Langdon wished for her presence while she sat at the dining table.

Pandora happily sighed as she rose from her seat and followed the tall woman through the dark hallways. The Fist stopped outside a wooden door. "Here we are, good luck," The woman sarcastically spoke to Pandora as she strolled away.

Pandora gently knocked on the door and waited for Langdon to say it was clear to come in, but instead, he opened the door and greeted the young lady.

"Ah, Miss Adler, please, come in and take a seat."

Pandora gave a small, timid smile to the man and walked inside and took a seat in front of the mahogany desk. Pandora's nerves got the better of her and she began fiddling with her purple Victorian gown. Langdon seemed to notice her jitters from his place behind her. He set his large hand onto her shoulder. "There's no need to be nervous, Miss Adler, I don't bite," Langdon spoke reassuringly, before leaning down so his hot breath fanned across Pandora's fair neck.

"Unless you want me to."

Pandora's breath hitched in her throat as the man's hand slid across the back on her chair and moved towards his seat opposite the desk. Once he was seated he simply smiled at the girl with his long legs crossed over each other.

"How does exactly work, Mr Langdon?"

"Please. Call me Michael." Michael smirked at the nervous girl. "I'm not gonna tell you what criteria I'm using to grade you. Things you may feel are helpful may be hurtful. Things you may feel will compel rejection may be exactly what I'm looking for. If you hedge, I will know. If you lie, I will know. And if you try to trick me, I will know, and this interview will be over, and you will die here painfully." He answered. "Are we clear?" Michael tilted his head to left slightly with an almost sinister smile plastered to his mouth.

Pandora gulped but nodded with faux confidence. "Perfect. Now, tell me about your childhood?"

"Well, I hardly remember it. I spent the majority of my childhood at my orphanage, it was nothing special." Pandora sadly answered.

"Are you sure about that? Nothing extraordinary happened to you that you could not explain?" Michel leaned forward so his elbows were settled on the desk.

"I don't believe so, but as I said, I can hardly remember it, it's almost like that portion of my memories were erased. That probably sounds insane," Pandora continued.

"No, that's not insane. It's interesting. Moving on," Michael gushed as he stood up. Michael walked around the desk and stopped in front of Pandora. "Do you recognise me, Miss Adler?"

Pandora widened her eyes with her mouth hanging open. "Uh-umm -" Pandora hesitated as she studied his face. "You seem familiar, but I have no idea where I've seen you before."

"Intriguing..." Michael whispered. "Do you find me attractive, Pandora?" Michael stepped closer to the girl until his face was mere inches away from Pandora's face. Pandora's eyes travelled around the man's face, analysing his expression to see if he was serious.  "Well?" Michael huskily asked.

"Yes, the idea of you excites me," Pandora whispered. Michael gently smirked as he placed his hand on Pandora's thigh.

"Good," Michael says as places his palm against the girl's neck and tilted his face even closer until his lips were brushing Pandora's. "Let's continue this conversation another time, shall we?" Michael suggested as he pulled away from the girl.

Pandora sighed with annoyance yet stood up. "Of course, Mr Lan - Michael."
