"Are you sure that's the best idea?" Changbin asked skeptically.

Felix cringed at the older boy's words. Him saying that after praising Felix's growth was a very low blow; and the Australian was feeling the full effects of Changbin's words. Red watched as Felix's face dropped, and she immediately tapped into his thoughts to hear what he was thinking, because she knew he'd be too afraid to voice his thoughts out loud.

Why would he say that? I thought he believed in me; at least a little bit...

It was clear to Red that Felix wasn't the most confident person when it came to using his powers. In reality, the brunette was scared of what he could do. It was a constant struggle to not over think things. Running through the younger's mind all day were worries about hurting someone with his powers. He wondered if he'd be able to understand them enough to have full control over them. What if he ended up hurting or even killing someone because he wasn't able to control himself? Thoughts like that were always in the back of Felix's mind, but he never voiced them. He thought that he'd be burdening the person he admitted his true feelings to, so he always kept it locked inside himself.

"Why wouldn't it be?" Red questioned.

"Didn't you just say that Felix has shown incredible growth in power and in his control of power?"

"Yes, and he has...But, isn't it a little too soon? He's been here for less than three weeks," Changbin reminded the female.

The redhead nodded.

"I know. But, you had your first mission within your second week of training," Red stated.

"But my situation was...A lot different than his," the raven haired boy defended.

And he was right. Felix's powers were inside of him since birth. He just had no idea they were inside of him until that early morning when the forest fire spread to the neighborhood houses. Changbin, on the other hand, wasn't born with his powers. A long, incredibly horrific string of events lead to him being able to use telekinesis. He'd much rather forget that list of occurrences, so he did his best to bury them along with all his other childhood memories. Those memories were toxic to him, and frankly, he saw no use for them at all.

"Even so, there's no better way to test his abilities than to give him some hands on experience," Red decided quickly.

It wasn't that she didn't take Changbin's words into consideration. It was that she could read his thoughts, and the words coming out of his mouth definitely didn't match what he was saying in his head. It wasn't that the older boy didn't think the younger was capable enough to do the mission. That wasn't the issue at all. The problem was that Changbin didn't want Felix to end up hurt; but he wouldn't ever say that out loud.

"What's the mission?" Felix asked, finally popping into the conversation again.

"Yesterday, Woojin and I got word of a new member that's joined a rival group of superhumans that are planning on using their powers to gain control over the human population," Red began seriously.

"I'd like for both you and Changbin to investigate the situation further and find out if this new member even exists at all."

That's not so bad, Changbin said to himself, mentally breathing a large sigh of relief, he probably won't get hurt if all we're doing is gathering information.

"I'd like to do it," Felix spoke up confidently.

He was absolutely determined to show Changbin that he wasn't weak. He wanted the older boy to know that he listened when he was given pointers and directions. He wanted Changbin to know that he listened when he'd speak. Felix wanted to prove himself to the raven haired boy; and prove himself he would.

"We'll obviously be taking cautionary measures, considering the fact that it's Felix's first ever official mission. You'll both be given Call Watches. You wear them on your wrist, and they look like plain, normal watches. However, there's a computer chip on the inside that allows me to teleport to your location in the blink of an eye if you run into any trouble. All you have to do is press the little black button the side," Red explained, showing the button to Felix.

The Australian nodded in understanding, gently taking the watch from Red's hand. He clutched onto it, confidently looking up at Red's face.

"Don't worry," Felix said.

"I can do this."

He wasn't trying to convince himself, or even Red. The brunette was trying to convince Changbin. His eyes locked on the older boy's, and before he could say anything, the raven haired boy nodded his head and left the room. Though Felix was a bit discouraged, he refused to let Changbin's words get the better of him. With a shared smile between the leader and the Australian, the brunette retreated back to his and Changbin's shared room. He climbed into bed, gently placing his watch on the nightstand beside his bed.

Felix turned the shorter boy's words over and over in his mind all night long. He was hurt by what the older boy had to say. He just didn't understand why the raven haired boy would tell Red that he wasn't ready to be taken on his first mission. He'd been training harder than anyone, working on controlling his powers, and learning how to use them properly. He thought, after hearing that Changbin was acknowledging his hard word, that the older boy would be excited about their first mission together. But, instead, the shorter boy had tried to convince Red that Felix simply wasn't strong enough or prepared enough to go on any missions yet. And that made Felix feel worthless. Come morning, the Australian was absolutely determined to show the older boy that he was ready to go on missions. He was determined to prove to Changbin that he was ready to be a contributing member of Supernova, and that he was a well-rounded partner.

"Put this on," the older boy said emotionlessly, handing Felix a black long sleeved shirt with black pants to match.

"Why?" The Australian inquired, looking from the outfit to Changbin's face.

Felix could sense hints of unease coming from the raven haired boy. That only made him that much more encouraged to show him that he knew how to use his powers properly and he knew how to be a proper member of the group.

"All the partners have set colors," Changbin explained, his tone leveled out.

"I've always had black, so now that you're my partner, your color is black, too."

Felix nodded, deciding not to ask anymore questions. It was obvious to him that Changbin seriously wasn't in the mood for them, so even though he had one hundred million more on the very tip of his tongue, he kept his mouth closed and his tongue in between his teeth. After getting dressed in the all black outfit, Felix snapped the watch onto his wrist.

"All right," he said, turning to look at Changbin.

He did his very best to keep his gaze straight ahead and his hopes held up high.

"Let's go."

The pair entered the living room together. Red and the other seven members were there to see the duo off.

"Good luck guys!" Jeongin smiled brightly, giving them two thumbs up.

Felix smiled lightly at the younger boy. The rest of them all wished the both of them luck on their mission, and after thanking his friends, he turned to Red.

"We're ready," Felix stated, doing his best to keep his confidence at its highest level.

"Good luck," she said, tapping a few buttons on her own watch.

Around the two boys, a circle of pale blue light appeared at their feet. Before Felix fully realized what was happening, he felt like his body was being sucked into a vacuum cleaner. He tightly closed his eyes, waiting for the strange sensation to leave him be. Changbin shook the younger boy's shoulder a bit roughly.

"Open your eyes. We've got a mission to complete," he spoke dryly.

Changbin wanted everything to be over as soon as possible. The sooner he and Felix could go back to the hideout; the better. The less time they spent inside the lion's den, the less chance there was for Felix to get injured. Frankly, Changbin didn't really care about his own safety. He'd stopped worrying about whether he would live or die on missions a long time ago. After every shred of his self respect was ripped away, he lost his will to live in more ways than one. He didn't want to take his own life, though. He wanted to leave it up to fate. And so he did. However, he was also known to throw caution to the wind on missions; putting himself in danger that was avoidable and often times even unnecessary. And the older boy didn't want that kind of thing for Felix. That meant Changbin would have to be careful, something he wasn't used to, and he'd have to new strategic in every move he made. Not only was he looking after himself, he was looking after Felix, too.

"What is this place?" Felix asked quietly, looking around at the beige colored room that they'd ended up in.

"Crimson Vector's main headquarters," Changbin answered matter-of-factly.

"What's Crimson Vector?" The Australian inquired, letting his eyes wander around the room.

"It's one of the seven groups of superhumans that are hell bent on world domination. Crimson Vector is made up of men and women who call themselves Human Vessels. They're all able to use their own blood as a weapon."

Felix's heart began to race. It was scary enough going up against people he thought would have the same type of abilities as the members of Supernova. But now that he knew the truth about Crimson Vector's members, he was beginning to wonder whether he'd really be able to pull the mission off. Adrenaline began to course through Felix's veins as he thought about what he and Changbin were going up against. It absolutely terrified him. But, he knew that he couldn't let the older boy see his fear. He had to be strong and confident for the both of them.

"How is that even possible?" Felix asked, unconsciously looking down at his arms.

Changbin refused to meet his eyes when he answered.

"I don't know," he replied.

Felix could sense that he was leaving out a lot of details, but he could only hope that the older boy would tell him everything he needed to know one day. To stop the Australian from asking any further questions, Changbin headed for the door. With no questions asked, (much to the raven haired boy's relief), Felix followed behind silently.

"Their meeting room is at the end of the hallway," Changbin stated quietly, pointing a finger towards the white door.

"I'm going to see if I can hear anything. And while I do that, you need to go that way and sneak into the training arena. If there's a new member, you'll be able to tell. They'll look different from all the others," he explained.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to split up, though?" Felix questioned.

He was scared to be alone in unfamiliar territory. He didn't know his way around, and even if he did, he still wouldn't want to be left alone to roam the establishment.

"Don't worry about it. I'll be quick. Just go," the shorter boy ordered.

The taller boy was nervous, but he knew that if he wanted to prove himself to Changbin that he'd have to follow orders. He nodded his head, quietly making his way towards the training arena while the raven haired boy creeped over to the meeting room's door. It wasn't Changbin's first time dealing with Crimson Vector, so he knew what he was getting himself into. He wasn't very worried, because while they were incredibly powerful, they weren't much for intellect. They were too caught up in plans of world domination to think about anything else. Changbin pressed his ear to the door, doing his best to stay alert and aware of his surroundings while listening in on the conversation taking place behind the door.

"Are you sure that Blair will be an asset to us?" One deep, masculine voice questioned.

Changbin's timing was perfect.

"We'll have to wait and see how she's able to control her power. Then we'll know," a higher, seemingly female voice returned.

Blair, Changbin noted the name, that may be the new member Red and Woojin were informed of.

"Things would be so much simpler if we hadn't lost-" a young male voice was abruptly caught off by the first man that spoke.

"Never say his name," the deep, male voice growled.

Changbin's skin was crawling at the sounds of their voices. They even sounded evil and sinister. He pulled his ear away from the door, quickly but quietly making his way down the hall to join Felix in the training arena. Inside, the younger boy had successfully creeped into the room without being noticed by any of the seven people down on the arena floor. Crimson Vector had constructed the training arena in order to practice in secret; making sure to keep their selves a secret from the government. The practices they used in order to become "Human Vessels" were unethical in every sense of the word. Blood splatter lined the walls and floor of the arena, leaving Felix feeling a little bit sick to his stomach. The metallic scent that filled his nostrils left him silently gagging.

He'd managed to hide himself behind a beam, discreetly peeking out from behind it to watch the seven Crimson Vector members as they trained on the arena floor. Changbin was indeed correct when he told Felix that he'd be able to tell if there was a new member. Six out of the seven people looked deathly pale with black hair and glowing red eyes. They reminded Felix of vampires. However, one girl stood out from the others. Her hair was strawberry blond and her eyes weren't red. Just as well, her skin was a bit lighter, but she wasn't anywhere near being deathly pale like the other six. In reality, she was the only one on the arena floor that looked like a normal human being. Felix looked on as a girl with dark black hair and glowing red eyes walked over to the strawberry blond girl with a knife in her hand. Calmly, the seemingly regular looking girl held out her forearm to the scary girl, watching as she dug the blade into her arm without flinching. Felix's stomach was churning as he watched the raven haired girl remove the blade and toss it to the side.

"Do it again," she commanded.

He noted that the raven haired girl seemed like the embodiment of sinister evilness. The way she dug the knife into the other girl's skin without even batting an eyelash was...Sociopathic. The strawberry blond haired girl nodded, clenching her fist. With horror filled eyes, Felix watched as her blood pooled on her cream colored skin, only to quickly begin to swirl around her body like shards of glass that had been caught in a tornado. After a few seconds though, the young girl fell to her knees in exhaustion, and while some of her blood returned to her body, the rest rained down on top of her like a demented storm. She was breathing heavily, chest heaving, and she coughed up blood a few moments later.

What kind of sick, twisted place is this? Felix asked himself.

Suddenly feeling the presence of someone behind him, the Australian whipped around quickly, sparks forming over top of his fingertips as he readied himself for a fight. But, when he saw that it was only Changbin, he relaxed a bit and let his hands fall to his side again. Changbin had seen the very tail end of the young girl's actions, and he felt sympathetic towards her in a way. However, he was much more concerned about Felix than he was about some random girl that made the stupid decision to join Crimson Vector in the first place. Whatever was happening to her, she brought it all on herself, and Changbin had to remind himself of that.

"Let's go. We got lucky today. We've got all the information we need," Changbin stated.

Waiting for the best moment to sneak out, the two boys eventually made their way into the hallway once more. All that was left to do was return to the room they were originally teleported to and click the tiny black button on the side of their call watches so that Red would come in order to bring them back to Supernova's hideout. Unfortunately, the mission was just too easy for the world to let them get off that simply. Just as Felix reached for the doorknob, the meeting room's door swung open. The younger boy could feel his heart drop into the pit of his stomach.

"Well, well, well," a tall, deathly pale man with glowing red eyes said, a sinister smirk playing on his lips in a fashion that even chilled Changbin to the core.

"What do we have here?" The man asked incredulously, stepping towards the duo.

Changbin stepped in front of Felix, staring the tall man down. If looks could kill, he would have been a dead man.

"They're from Supernova," a younger, less manly boy announced.

Changbin's eyes were transfixed on the tallest male, but Felix noted the way a short haired girl in the back was moving her hands slowly.

This could have been so simple, Changbin thought to himself, clenching his jaw in anger.

The older boy was too caught up in his personal anger to take notice of the short haired girl in the back of the group. But, thankfully, Felix moved just in time. He pushed Changbin. Hard. The older boy was sent falling into the wall on the other side of the hallway, hitting his head in the process. Moving his hands quickly, Felix forced out a stream of fire that cut right through the bloody attack that the short haired girl had sent the older boy's way. Changbin's eyes widened as he realized what had just happened.

Felix had saved his life...

And he'd risked his own to do so.
