𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑 in the center of the kitchen, Roses hands cradled around her face as her thumbs rubbed against the poor blondes cheeks. She was trembling.

Right after she heard about Topper choking her she turned her gaze back to the young blonde in front of her, —"my poor girl." her voice softened.

"It was really—my fault Rose.." voice cracking in between the sobs coming from Moon Cameron.

"Nothing was your fault hun." Rose comforted as she held her arms around the girl, —"I went to John B's.., when I should have just stayed home." —"why did you go to the other side of town?" Rose pulled away as her and Ward both looked at the girl confused.

Thats when Ward turned his head over to Rafe, "I thought you told me she was staying home to get better!!" He screamed, Rafe stared down at the ground almost startled by Wards yelling.

"I thought she was!" Rafe looked over at Moon making a quick second eye contact with her before running out the back door. He was most likely running off to find Kelce.

"—I wanted to apologize to John B, for how Topper almost killed him last night." Moon finally answered Roses question once the yelling was silenced.

Right before anyone could say anything, Sheriff Peterkin and Deputy Shoupe came through the front doors. Notepad in hands.

Moon sighed as she knew this was gonna be a long night.

She yawned as she sat on the couch in the living room watching as the door closed behind Peterkin and Shoupe.

"So Moon—" Ward spoke as he was cut off immediately. "—I'm going to bed dad." The girl stood up as she brushed her dress off before saying goodnight to everyone.

She walked up the stairs holding the sides of her neck that stung badly.

Opening the bedroom door in front of her she closed it calmly behind her before turning to her bathroom, she slipped her dress down her body before kicking it off with her feet.

Placing her hand on the tap as she turned it, warm water streaming out of the shower head as she took her hair of the pony it was in, dropping it onto the marble counter.

She sighed as she stared at her reflection that stared back at her in the mirror, the bruises that stung against her neck weren't too hard to notice either.

Her fingertips traced across them wincing as they did, she knew it was gonna hurt the second the warm water touched her neck.

Her body turned as she stepped into the shower the water hitting against her body, Ow. She mouthed to herself as she began washing her body.

Shortly after washing her body carefully, she began washing her hair. She thought about Topper, she still couldn't believe how he treated her last night even this morning.

He had never acted that way towards her in their years of dating, all she could do was sit back and hope he'd apologize to her for the way he hurt her.

Hurt her not just mentally but physically.

Moon sighed as she turned the tap off of the shower, squeezing her hair out and reaching over to grab her towel. Just as she did she began wrapping it around her hair.

Then carefully stepping out so she wouldn't slip she grabbed her second towel, wrapping it around her figure tightly—So it wouldn't fall off.

Walking over to her closet she loosened the towel that was wrapped tightly around her figure, letting it fall to the ground. Before sliding some clothes over top of her.

Turning her head as she headed back towards the bathroom, grabbing a hold of her electric tooth brush she began brushing her teeth. Humming a tune as she did so, "goodnight Moon!" Sarah called from the hallway.

She spit her toothpaste out of her mouth before yelling goodnight back. "—goodnight!" She rinsed her mouth out with water gurgling it before taking her towel off of her head.

Moon combed her hair out before shutting the bathroom light off along with her bedroom light, using the flashlight on her phone to get back to her bed.

She plopped herself into the bed, had a massive sigh and laid her head against the pillow. Instantly falling asleep as she did.

It was about lunch time and Moon had already had her white short dress on with light pink roses on it, a gold necklace that had the letter M hanging from her neck.

She had her white sneakers on as she sat at the table outside with her family, everyone besides Rafe. She didn't know where he could have ran off, " Thanks Wheezie." Moon smiled at her younger sister that had just placed down a cup of juice in front of her.

"So what are the plans today?" Ward was eating a piece of bacon as he stared at the rest of his family, nobody really said anything so Moon opened her mouth. "—I was probably gonna sit on the boat, read maybe or even have a nap." She had a frown on her face until her father smiled.

She formed a smile on her face, suddenly her eyes got caught by a sudden small boat being parked behind her boat. She thought she could recognize that boat, she just couldn't think of where.

"May I be excused?" Everyone nodded as Moon stood up quickly brushing her dress off as she ran towards the boat, pushing her hair behind her ears as she hopped up onto the boat.

She walked over looking at the smaller boat next to it, suddenly she heard footsteps coming from outside of her boat. Startled she ducked down hiding behind the railing, that was until she looked up to see John B carrying a bunch of scuba gear outside of her boat.

"John B?" She softly spoke still holding onto the side of the boat so she doesn't fall into the water, "Moon—oh hey!" John B had a bright smile plastered across his face.

"My gosh you almost gave me a heart att—" suddenly she lost her grip, almost falling into the water until John B dropped all the scuba gear and got a grip on her wrist.

She kind of winced at the sudden grip, John B noticing as he carefully pulled her back up onto the boat. "Hey, is everything alright?"

She licked her lips looking down at the scuba gear he had dropped, " um—yeah I'm good, everything's great." She forced a smile on her face as she kept trying not to look at him so her hair would cover her bruises.

"Aren't you the one who said it's better to have conversations face to face?" Laughing as he said so, "yeah we are face to face." She stared at her reflection in the window, "doesn't count when your not even looking at me Moon." Picking up the scuba gear in his arms again.

Quickly she looked over, "what are you doing with that stuff?" Stunned John B kind of froze looking at her neck, "—nothing I just need to borrow it for an hour or two." Confused she raised one of her eyebrows.

"I'm being serious Moon." He laughed, "for what tho?" She was determined to know what he would be doing that would lead to him having to steal off of her family's boat.

"Just pogue buisness, promise not to tell your dad or anyone in your family. —I promise I will bring this gear back in one piece!" He had those same puppy eyes he had the last time he saw her.

"Fine but on one condition." She had a grin on her face as John B sighed, "—really?" She nodded her head. " alright fine, go put a swimsuit on."

She laughed as she turned around walking over to the other side of the boat.

"You coming with?" His eyebrows raised, "where?" He questioned as he placed the scuba gear down in the boat. "Just come." He didn't question anymore as he just followed the shorter blonde towards the deck.

Hopping off the boat as he turned around reaching his hand out for her hand, helping her off of the boat carefully. Letting go as he waited for her to walk ahead of him.

Walking ahead as she could feel eyes on her and John B, "John B, what a surprise!" Ward had gotten up as he reached his hand out. John B taking it before shaking it firmly.

"Ward." John B nodded, he looked rather nervous as he made eye contact with Rafe. "What are you doing here?" His voice raspy as John B tried to think of a reason. "He's here to see if there was any work today?" Moon blurted out.

"No not today son." Ward smiled as he shook his head, "that's okay Ward!" John B quickly turned as he followed Moon towards the back doors of the house.

"Are you sure I'm aloud inside?" He stood staring at her as she stood inside the house, "yes you are." Moon laughed watching as the boy shyly took a big step into the house, looking up and around as he did so.

She smiled watching as he did so, turning her figure as she made her way up the stairs. John B quickly followed behind like a duckling.

Moon was rummaging through her top drawer for a swimsuit, "your room is really nice." John B complimented as he paced around the room. She smiled before turning her head over, "what kind of swimsuit?"

Whipping his head around he quickly walked over, "the brown one, I think it looks good with your eyes." He had a slight grin on his face, "well aren't you charming." Moon grabbed the brown bikini top and bottoms to go with it.

She walked over to the bathroom before closing the door behind her, stripping her clothes off as she began bringing her swimsuit bottoms over her legs. Before putting her arms up as she slid the top on, after she then slipped her dress back on before opening the door.

She was startled when she saw John B was stranding directly outside the door staring at her, "holy smokes—you scared me!" She held her hand to her chest before he chuckled.

"Wasn't my intention too, are you sure you want to come with?" He stood there staring at her as she thought about it, "yes I do." Nodding her head as she opened her bedroom door.

John be sighed as he followed the girl.

He reached his hand out for her as she took her hand in his, pulling her gently into the boat. She sat down with her legs cross crossed as he started up the boat.

"Hold on, Princess." He had a cheesy grin plastered on his face, "I'm not your Princess." Moon rolled her eyes before feeling the cool breeze against her face. It was a nice feeling after being out in the sun all day.

She had her eyes closed for a majority of the ride until she felt the boat coming to a stop, "what the hell is she doing here?" she opened her eyes to see Kiara staring at her and over at John B.

JJ and Pope were boat standing next to each other, "hi Moon." JJ smiled before his smile faded away when Kiara gave him a dirty look. "She caught me stealing off the boat, so she wanted to come with or she'd tell her dad." John B had his hands up in the air.

"Whatever let's just get this over with." Kiara stepped into the boat placing the bag she had down on the floor, JJ jumped in sitting down in the spot right next to Moon.

Pope gave a little wave receiving one back from her as he sat down by John B. "Alright let's get this show on the road!" John B yelled excitedly, "did you even bring a swimsuit?" Kiara tilted her head admiringly the girls expression on her face.

"Well duh, who goes on a boat without a swimsuit? —and besides John B told me to put one on so I did." Moon was starting to get tired of the attitude that Kiara was giving her, just because her and Sarah are enemies doesn't mean her and Moon have to be either.

During all the arguing Moon hadn't even realized that they made it to their destination in the marsh, "alright, alright quick cat fighting!" John B stood up as he began stripping his shirt off pulling it over his head before dropping it onto the floor.

JJ had thrown the anchor down to keep the boat from floating away, "—this is empty, you took empty tanks?" Kiara looked at the tanks as he began to open his mouth, "—I..." before closing it pushing his hair back in defeat.

"I guess we didn't fill up the tanks in a while, since we didn't need to use them anytime soon." Moon looked at the time left on one of them, "—well this one's not entirely empty, it's a quarter full." She smiled instantly.

"which is enough for one of us." Kiara reached her hand out as Moon handed her the tank, looking up and around at everyone. Moon licked her bottom lip trying to think of an idea.

"Love it when a plan comes together." Pope sat his arms crossed over his chest as he didn't look pleased, "does anybody know how to dive?!" Kiara raised her voice.

"Anybody!" Kiara yelled a little louder, "—it's kind of a kook sport." JJ spoke turning his gaze directly to Moon. She gulped as Pope had a long sigh, "—I...read about it." Kiara looked so done with everyone at this point.

"Great! Pope read about it, so someone's gonna die." She clapped her hands, Moon couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Something funny?"

Moon knew how to dive, her father taught her whenever they were boating together. "I—I know how to dive, my dad taught me." She offered, John B looked at her with disagreement on his face.

"Perfect we have our volunteer, thank you Moon!" She had a big smile on her face as she rubbed her forehead, Moon began to stand up as JJ got impatient, " woah woah woah, look, y-you put the thing in your mouth and breathe. How hard could it be?"

"Well if you come up too fast, nitrogen gets into your blood, and you get the bends." Pope stared directly up at him, Moon looked down at her feet trying to think. She couldn't believe how smart Pope was especially for someone that only ever read about diving.

"—bends like, bend over and..." JJ began bending himself over, "the bends kill you." Moon said at the same time as Pope, "I say we sacrifice Cameron. She seems to know what she's doing." JJ mouthed the words sorry, to Moon as she glared at him.

"No, I can—I can dive." John B jumped up on his feet quick, "it's really not a problem John B I can dive—" before she could finish her sentence John B shushed her, "we can't have you drowning over something we're trying to do." He looked at the others as they all shake their heads in agreement.

"I take back what I said Moon, we are not sacrificing you. But we can sacrifice your boyfriend if all else fails." He winked, the blonde shook her head as she completely forgot about Topper.

She was gonna be in so much shit when she gets home, not only was she with John B but she was with all the pogues together.

𝐈'𝐌 𝐒𝐎 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐘 for how long it took for me to get this chapter out for you guys. I was just so stressed with school and then with Christmas and every thing.

𝐈 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐆𝐔𝐘𝐒 enjoyed this chapter and I'm sorry it's a bit short but I'll try and write a longer chapter for the next chapter!!
