10| I DON'T THINK YOU'RE A PROSTITUTE

Rafes head was swarming with what Aria said. She clearly had to be attracted to him if she completely suggested they have sex. I mean, he'd never had sex with someone he didn't think was attractive. But maybe she'd been different, maybe that's not how it worked for her. Rafe didn't even know if Aria had done it before, he assumed she probably had, it's not like she'd want to if it was her first time. But he didn't know that either, he didn't know anything.

Aside from the fact that it's all that was in his head now and he suddenly felt like he was fifteen again and obsessed with the idea of having sex.

And whatever, sure, he'd gotten over that stupid school boy crush he had on her back in high school. He didn't even know if it was actually a crush or if he was just protective over her back then. Either way, that was long gone now. But just one sentence made him question everything. I mean, Aria drove him insane and annoyed the hell out of him, but she also understood and he liked to be around her.

Not to mention she was hot, really hot.

"I don't see shit!" Rafe announced as he looked down at the hole Renfield had been digging at alongside the excavator. Aria leaned against the Range Rover, watching them while Limbrey kept her distance but stood close by, "You sure this is the right spot?"

"Keep at it, Bob The Builder." Aria called his way, "Find me that gold."

"You wanna pitch in a little?" Rafe suggested her way, squinting from the sun, "Or you just wanna continuing to lean against my car and jack your jaw?"

God, but her voice was so sexy to listen to.

"Probably the second option, yeah." Aria gave a nod after a second of dramatic thinking.

"It's there. The garment will be in the cross, and the cross will be at the foot of the tree." Limbrey smiled as she watched the boys a moment longer. Aria was ready to blow her own head off if she had to listen to any more talk about a so called magical scarf.

"Well, whatever we find, we get our cut." Rafe spoke for him and Aria, holding the shovel in his hand.

"You can keep that scarf though." Aria hummed her way, pulling the jacket off her shoulders and throwing it into the car, "Unless Dumbledore and Harry Potter fight you for it first."

"The actual garment. You understand the significance." Limbrey ignored Aria and continued off with a smile of hope.

"I do, Carla. Completely." Renfield nodded as he shut the truck again.

"God, are these people not driving you crazy?" Aria asked as she walked over toward Rafe. She lost her jacket, and her arms were bare now. It was just her arms, just her freaking arms but it was driving him crazy, "You think it would be cruel if I took her crutches away and watched her fall over?"

Rafe gave a snort as she came up by his side, "Save that for after we get our stuff."

"Probably smart, yeah." Aria nodded her head. A crunch went under the excavator when it dug down.

"Hey, wait!" Carla called with a wave of her hand, "Stop! Stop! Please stop. Did you hear it?"

Arias hand wrapped around Rafes arm as they looked down into the dug hole.

"Hey. Get in there, boys. Do it by hand." Carla said quickly, standing up from her chair with the help of her crutches.

"Yeah, Rafe. Get in there." Aria let his arm go and patted his back, "Do it by hand."

Rafe gave her a look of announce, grabbing her hand to wrap around his arm again.

"It's smaller then I thought." Carla spoke as she looked down, the construction workers digging it up, "It looks like a-"

"Casket." Rafe cut her off, whipping the side of his mouth in annoyance.

"Are you kidding me?" Aria asked in disbelief as she stared at the casket, "No gold, just a dead person. Lovely, that's exactly what I was looking for."

"He put it in a casket." Carla smiled,
"Denmark put it in a casket. Get it up."

Aria backed up as the old casket was lifted from the hole, held up as far as possible. She let Rafe go as he helped get it up onto the ground.

"Be carful." Limbrey spoke as they dropped it down, grabbing hold of the digging supplies to pop the old lid. Aria leaned over, watching it get pulled open as her eyes set down on nothing but a few bones.

"Some cross." she commented, rolling her eyes and standing up straight again.

"Just a corpse." Renfield huffed, whipping a bead of sweat off his head, "Sorry, Carla."

Rafe huffed in disbelief, whipping as his face as his finger dipped into his mouth in the slightest. Aria rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms.

"We must have missed something." the blonde woman spoke as she got to her feet again, grabbing her crutches with a pant.

"Of course. Of course, yeah. Of course it's just a dead body. Jesus!" Rafe spoke in annoyance as he rose to his feet, a hand going through his hair.

"We just got the wrong place. We'll go back to the island room." Carla nodded, trying to stay positive for her sake.

"Or this is all some stupid lie you've put together to make us look like a bunch of idiots." Aria spoke, staring over at the woman with a daring look in her eye, "Is that what this is, ma'am? You think i'm an idiot?"

"Aria, chill out." Rafe spoke in annoyance.

"I want my gold." Aria glared, walking closer to her, "You're gonna find it for me, or things will not end the way you are wanting them to."

"It's somewhere, close." Limbrey nodded her head with wide eyes, "I'm so sure of it. We're going back. It's not over."

Aria pulled a intimidating grin, nudging the bottom of Limbreys chin, "You better hope so."

"Cmon, get in." Rafe spoke, opening the door.

"We're just gonna leave this dead person?" Aria looked toward the corpse, "Just chilling in the middle of the woods?"

"We don't have time." Rafe spoke, holding the door open as she jumped in. Rafe got in after her, starting the car up and looking her way, "You need to be straight with me."

"About what?" she asked, glancing over. Rafe shook his head, jaw tightening slightly. It kinda freaked her out, because in a way it looked like he was about to yell at her, "What? What did I do?"

"Are you gonna take off?" his words came out snappy, looking at the road as his hands tightened around the wheel, "You're gonna get your cut, and leave us all here fucked?"

Aria had zero clue where that was coming from, looking over at him, "Why would you ask me that?"

"I just- I feel-" one of his hands came off the wheel and pointed at his head with squinted eyes, "I feel like you're getting in real close right now and I can't figure out if you're trying to mess something up or what."

Aria didn't take offense to his words, he's been paranoid by her and she kinda understood that. But, yeah, she wished he had more faith in her.

"I just need you to be straight with me and really tell me. Because if you're just here for the money, that's fine, but you don't have to keep on doing this.." he waved his hand after the word this and shook his head, "You don't have to pretend to be this person if you're just doing it to make sure you get your cut out of it."

Aria had to smile, because she was right before. She did have a affect on Rafe, and it hadn't been what she thought. Her flirting scared him and he was confused. It gave Aria a form of power, and she really liked that.

"You're so cute." Aria pushed the sunglasses into her face and reached over to pat his upper thigh, "So cute, Rafe Cameron, so cute."

"What the hell does that mean? Are you mocking me?" he gave her a tone of anger of annoyance, driving behind the car infront of them.

"Yes but not in the way you think." Aria gave a giggle, pulling her hand back but keeping her head turned his way, "I know i'll get my cut, I'm not worried about that. Considering I would absolutely murder those two old bats and chop your fingers off if you tried to screw me out of this, you can imagine i'm not really worried."

Rafe tried to calculate her words in his head, but she was speaking fast. Was it a threat? Was she telling him not to worry? It all was hitting him and he wasn't use to it. Rafe was always the one to say things like this, but she'd been just as bad with her mind games.

"You don't have anything to worry about is what i'm trying to say." Aria hummed a second later, fixing the air vent to blow on her better. When she did, her locks flew back in the slightest, "I'm not all over you just for money like a prostitute."

Rafe cleared his throat to avoid a grin on his face, "I don't think you're a prostitute."

"Good." Aria tilted her head back against the leather seats.
