๐€๐…๐“๐„๐‘ ๐€ ๐‘๐Ž๐”๐†๐‡ night trying to fall asleep Lillian was woken up by a knock at the door,

"Hey Lilly," Mark smiled as he was met with the tired girl,

"Are we meant to go to the diner today?" Lillian asked as her eyes went wide,

"I'm so sorry I lost track of-" she added as she began rambling on,

"Don't worry about it," the brunette was quick to cut her off as he shook his head,

"Just get dressed and then we can go," he added as he noticed that she was wearing nothing more than an oversized T-shirt.

"Could we maybe take a rain check?" The blonde begged as she wanted to sit in bed and feel sorry for herself,

"You look like you could do with breakfast right now," the hockey player shook his head as he could see that her cheeks were still stained from her tears,

"Mark," the soccer player sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair,

"I'm not leaving until I get yes as an answer," Mark smiled as he motioned to the girl to go and get ready,

They were going for breakfast.

Mark sat across from the girl as he felt bad,

"How are you feeling after yesterday?" Mark asked as he cocked his head,

"Is it wrong for me to say that I already miss him?" Lillian sipped her water as she leaned back in her booth,

"Nah bro," the brunette shook his head as he sighed tapping his fingers on the table in front of him,

"You've seen him everyday since you came back from winter break,"

"Did you just call me bro?" The blonde asked as she furrowed her eyebrows still caught up on that.

"Would you rather have me call you bitch?" The hockey player shot back as he watched the girls eyes go wide,

"There's that smile!" He added as he watched the girl let out a snort,

"That's a name reserved for the bedroom," the soccer player teased as she watched the boy turn a shade of pink,

"Thanks for taking me out today," she added as she smiled squeezing his hand in the process,

"I really needed this," the girl didn't want to admit it but she probably would have been crying under her comfort blanket right now if she wasn't out.

"I've got to step up to the plate now that Luke is gone," Mark explained as he sent the girl a grin as he heard her phone vibrate,

"That's him isn't it?" He added as he watched the blonde quick read the notification,

"Good morning Lilly! I'm heading to practice but will call when I get back. With a heart." Lillian read out as she held back a laugh at the timing of the message,

"And here you were thinking that you were gonna get a break from him," the brunette teased

"It was nice dreaming whilst I could," the blonde dramatically sighed as she placed her hand on her chest causing the duo to break out into a laugh.

Ethan was in the middle of the work he was doing for one of his classes as he saw the Instagram notification pop onto his phone.

Ethan didn't need a genius to notice that Lillian was with Mark in what he could only assume was one of their usual diner meetings.

It just sucked for the Canadian as he wanted to be the one to give Lillian the clearly much needed pick me up that she was going to need on her first day without her best friend at University with her.

But apparently there were other boys who seemed to care about her more than her own boyfriend did,

Or at least they were quicker in showing it.

Lillian ended up finding herself in the freshman's room a she caught up with one of the boys.

"Remind me why you are here?" Luca asked as he couldn't help but let out a laugh at the way she was just throwing and catching a little tennis ball that she had found when she entered his room,

"Because I am bored." Lillian explained as she lay back on his bed realising that it was much more comfortable than his roommates,

"And you literally let me in," she added as she didn't know why the boy was complaining,

"Hey Lillian," Rutger smiled as he walked back into his room,

"Hi Rut!" The blonde sat up as she sent him a wave,

"What are you doing here?" The brunette asked as he sat on his bed,

"I came to talk to Luca," the soccer player explained as she motioned to the younger Fantilli brother who was currently sat on his couch,

"And am I chopped liver all of a sudden?" The hockey player placed his hand on his chest as he let out a gasp,

"You had class," Lillian playfully rolled her eyes as she smiled,

"Have you memorised his schedule?" Luca asked as he raised his eyebrows,

"No," the blonde was quick to shake her head,

"I saw his location on Snapchat," she added in a duh tone,

"I'm more than just a pretty face," the girl began as she stuck her tongue out at him,

"I can use my brain sometimes," she explained as she tucked her hair behind her ear,

"You've got a pretty face?" Luca let out a surprise and sarcastic gasp causing the sophomore to send him a glare.

"Luca I will actually come over there and hurt you," Lillian warned as she crossed her arms,

"Love you too Lillian," the brunette blew her an air kiss as he got up and grabbed his bag,

"Where are you going?" Rutger cocked his head,

"I have a class in ten minutes," Luca explained as he ruffled his hand in the girls hair,

"Bye Luca," the blonde rolled her eyes as she ran her fingers through her hair having to fix it.

"See you later bro," Rutger sent him a wave as the boy left the room,

"And then there were two," he added turning his attention to the girl,

"It's nice seeing your room in the daylight," Lillian confessed as she looked around the room to see the posters that the boys had in there,

"Have you not been in here?" The brunette raised his eyebrows as he swore that she had been in their room at least one during the day,

"The last time I was in here was a little preoccupied," the blonde pointed out hinting to the evening they spent together,

"A little?" The hockey player teased,

"You spent so much of that night learning about what-" he added as he smirked when the girl turned a shade of pink as she let out a gasp,

"Rutger don't you finish that sentence," the soccer player threw a pillow at him,

"Why not?" Rutger asked as he cocked his head,

He liked that they were able to talk comfortably even though they had slept together,

"I will make sure that you don't have children," Lillian warned as she couldn't help but let out a soft laugh,

"You've always had such a way with words," the brunette shook his head as he smiled,

They were definitely better off as friends.
