๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ suitcase out of the airport as just like on any other holiday she has come home with a shit ton more than she left with.
Don't get her wrong she thought it was cute that she had a bunch of different mementos from the trip but where exactly was she going to put them in her already small dorm? She didn't know either.
And don't even get her started on how irritating she found the airport, like she wanted nothing more than to go back to her dorm and crash to let herself catch up on the much needed sleep that she definitely missed whilst she was in New Jersey. So she was going to have to flag down a taxi and honestly pray that they weren't someone who had the intentions of killing their rider tonight.
So as she made her way to the taxi area she heard a laugh that caused her to stop right where she stood, and like any normal person she turned around and began looking for where it came from. Just before she began to think that she was crazy she found the source of said laugh.
"What are you doing here?" Lillian asked as she cocked her head,
"Did you really think that I was going to let you come home alone?" Mark spoke in a duh tone as he pulled her into a hug noting how much he had missed her physical presence.
"Thanks for coming," the blonde was quick to smile at him as she readjusted the cap on her head,
"I also wanted to see you before the boys got to you," the brunette confessed as he felt his cheeks turn a soft shade of pink,
"I've missed my boys," the soccer player loved her time away but she knew wanted to spend as much time with the boys as she could now that she was back.
"And we've missed you," the hockey player laughed as the girl scrunched up her nose after he had tapped it,
"You hungry?" He added as he looked at his phone to see that it was getting late,
He knew that the girl probably hadn't eaten on the plane either as she was never a big name of plane food.
"Yeah I could do with something to eat," Lillian nodded as she began to crave some greasy form of comfort food.
And what was how they found themselves in the car park of McDonald's as they let the country playlist that Mark had made be background noise as they caught up.
"You ready to see him?" Mark asked as he cocked his head,
Lillian didn't even have to think about it before the phrase "yeah," practically fell out of her mouth,
"I actually really want to see him," she added as she no longer felt a sense of embarrassment announcing that.
She loved him and was willing to work through any issues for them to remain together,
"So you're forgetting what he did?" The brunette let out a scoff as he grew irritated,
To him Lillian deserved better.
"I'm going to give him a chance to talk and like explain himself," the blonde explained as she fiddled with her ring that sat on her finger,
It was a gold ring that Luke had given to her for her twentieth birthday.
"It's the least I can do," she mumbled as she pulled her leg to her chest,
"You know you're too good for him sometimes," the hockey player sighed as he mimicked the girls action,
"I'm letting him talk, I'm not bringing him back to my room." As much as the soccer player wanted to just run into his arms she was still deep down inside stubborn.
"Besides he has to be the one to talk first," she added as she pulled a fry out of her box before she ate it,
"And if he doesn't?" Mark asked as he cocked his head,
"Then the rest of sports media is gonna be fucking awkward." Lillian shook her head as she suddenly came to the realisation of that possibility,
Not only were the couple partners in the class for a current project but they also sat next to each other.
"Well if he doesn't I can tell you that he is a fucking idiot," the brunette ran his fingers through his hair as he watched the girl smile,
"I think you're meant to say that as my friend," the blonde held back a laugh as she sipped her drink,
"I'm saying it as someone who likes you," the hockey player blurted out causing the girl to choke on her sprite.
"You like me?" The soccer player coughed as she cleared her chest,
"I don't want to hear that your sor-" Mark began as his eyes went wide realising what he had said,
"Why didn't you tell me!" Lillian cut him off as she slapped his arm,
"Because I was Ethan's roommate," the brunette spoke in a duh tone,
"I was single for like nine months you know?" The blonde pointed out as she shook her head,
"Yeah but bro code is a thing," the hockey player shot back as he was surprised that the conversation was going the way that it was,
He was also realising that the real thing that held him back when it came to thinking about his feelings for the girl was the fact that one of his best friends and teammate went between the title of ex and boyfriend.
"Oh my god!" The soccer player let out a laugh as she threw her head back,
"What?" Mark furrowed his eyebrows as he watched her laugh,
Lillian was finally able to get her words out of her mouth as she slowly stopped laughing, "I wanted to ask you out but it felt rude doing that to Ethan!"
"Wow," the brunette sat there feeling like a ton of bricks just hit him,
"I guess here's to Ethan being a cockblock then," he added as he held his drink up for the girl to hit,
"Cheers," the blonde smiled as she tapped her cup with his leaving the duo to think about what had just happened.

The duo walked back to the girls dorm as they were careful not to be too loud as they went passed the RA's room.
Mark was honestly feeling better now that he had told the girl how he felt and it was a small bonus to him that there was a time that she felt the same way.
"Thanks for picking me up," Lillian stopped in front of her door as she turned to the boy,
"Don't mention it," Mark shook his head as he shoved his hands into his pockets,
"But don't tell the boys I did or else I might get in trouble," he added as he smiled,
"Why?" The blonde cocked her head as she tapped her fingers on the madly of her suitcase,
"I told them I wanted to go for a drive," the brunette explained as he wanted to talk to the girl alone,
Beyond their time at the diner they really never did spend time alone.
"For three hours?" The soccer player laughed as she placed her hand on her mouth to muffle the noise,
"They aren't going to notice a thing," the hockey player pointed out,
"They're all playing Mario kart right now." He added as he pulled out his phone to show her Dylan's Snapchat story.
"Maybe it's for the best that we aren't there then," Lillian smiled as they were the best players in Mario Kart out of the whole group,
"Give them some time for the extra training," she added as the boys were going to need short of a miracle (and all the blues shells in the world) to not have Mark or Lillian come in first,
"They're gonna need us to go on a lot more late night food runs then," Mark watched as the girls eyes lit up,
"And you make that sound like a bad thing," the blonde teased as her tongue stuck out of the side of her mouth.
"I should probably get in there," she added as she heard Indigo complain about her mother on the phone,
"Night Lilly," Mark gave her a wave before she hugged him,
"Goodnight Mark," Lillian felt a grin form on her face,
"Word of advice though," she added as she placed her hands on his shoulders,
"Yeah?" The brunette cocked his head as he looked at her,
"Next time you like a girl that's single, fuck the bro code." The blonde spoke in a duh tone as she let out a soft giggle,
"I'll remember that." The hockey player laughed as he nodded watching in awe as the girl walked into her dorm leaving him alone in the hallway with his thoughts.

AN: I rewrote this chapter so many times and I think I finally got to a point that I am happy with it and I hope that the people who liked the Mark and Lillian storyline are content with the way I've tied it up for them (they will remain friends but everything will be platonic from here)
