You sat at a table in the library, a book about the seven wonders laid out in front of you, and a pile of every other book you could find on the subject sat next to you.

'Why have I never been able to learn more about Hanako?' You wondered. 'What type of friend am I that I've only tried once?'

You flipped through the book and stopped when you reached the chapter labeled: Hanako-Kun, only to let out of huff of annoyance when you realized that this, like the other books, only talked about his rumor and mentioned nothing about his past. An idea suddenly came to you, and you quickly turned to look at the clock, which now read three fifty-eight. That meant only two minutes until the four o'clock library opened.

'Should I try there again, though?'

After your previous experience, you were hesitant to go back there again, but you soon decided that it was better than continuing to search through these books. You stood up, heading to the place where you had previously found the entrance, only to turn the corner and bump into something hard.
"Ow," you muttered, stumbling a bit but managing to keep yourself from falling. "Sorry about that."

"Watch where you're going," said a familiar voice, and you looked up to see Mr. Tsuchigomori standing there, his arms crossed and an annoyed frown on his face.
"Oh, it's you," he said once he recognized you, and you opened your mouth to say something, but suddenly a butterfly flew past you and landed on the same book as before.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I was on my way to visit the four o'clock library," you answered. "I wanted to learn more about Hanako, but the books that the school had didn't have a lot of information so I was going to try to look through his book in the four o'clock library." Mr. Tsuchigomori stared at you for a moment. The expression on his face was one of interest, almost like he was studying you, and you'd be lying if you said it didn't make you a bit uncomfortable.

"No," he said after a moment, and you stared at him in confusion.
"What?"
"You can't read his book. It's red. And you know what happened last time you read a red book."

As soon as he finished, the butterfly that had landed on the book flew away, and you were sure that meant you weren't going to be able to enter the library.

"Then can you tell me about him?" You asked just as he was about to walk away. He stopped, his back now facing you.
"What makes you think I know anything?" He asked.
"Well, I don't know," you said. "It just seemed like you two knew each other. Hanako and I are friends, but I don't know anything about him and I would like to change that," you explained.

Mr. Tsuchigomori stood there for a moment, and you held your breath, hoping that he was at least considering it.
"Fine." You looked up at him in surprise to see the teacher motioning for you to follow him as he led you out of the library.

"So, what do you want to know?" He asked as the two of you walked down the hall.
"I don't know," you shrugged. "Maybe...something about him when he was alive...or maybe how he died..." A sudden idea came to mind. "He mentioned something about his old assistant a while ago, but he seemed kinda sad when he did. Did something happen between them?"
"Kind of," Mr. Tsuchigomori said, leading you into his classroom and sitting down at his desk, beginning to grade some papers. You sat down on one of the desks in the room as he spoke.

"Her name was Yashiro Nene. She graduated about nine or ten ago. Hanako was very fond of her. If I remember correctly, around the time it was time for her to graduate, she promised she would come back and visit him, but she never did, and now Hanako thinks she forgot about him, and from what I've seen, he seems to be scared that you'll leave him like he thinks she did."

"Oh..." You lowered your head as you took in all of this information.

The two of you sat in silence for a moment before Mr. Tsuchigomori spoke up.

"Hey..." He hesitated. "Remember when you asked me about changing your future?" You nodded.
"Well, it's not impossible to do it, but I've only seen it happen once." You visibly perked up at his words, silently urging him to continue.

"Yugi Amane, but you know him as Hanako," he began. "When he was alive, I was his homeroom teacher. It was the day when humanity went to the moon for the first time. Back then, it was just a dream. No one ever thought it would come true, but it did. This meant that nothing could be seen as impossible. Your dream could manifest no matter what it was. We could become anything we wanted to be, and we could go anywhere we wanted to go. While society was filled with hope after this, Yugi Amane, a kid who was always fascinated by the moon, told me he never wanted to go anywhere. As his homeroom teacher, I was worried about how his life would play out... At least I pretended to be. I read the record of his future sometime before that, and it said he would become a science teacher even though he never voiced a desire. His love of the stars developed, and he'd eventually come to teach at this school. We would've been coworkers." Mr. Tsuchigomori covered his face sadly. "It wasn't his time...He wasn't supposed to die like that." He sighed. "But yeah, Yugi Amane was the only person I've known to have changed their future. I wish I had a more uplifting explanation, but the truth is he said he didn't want to do more with his life, so he cut it short. He said he didn't want to leave, and he's still here as the leader of the seventh wonders." Mr. Tsuchigomori looked up at you. "So did that satisfy your curiosity?"

You nodded.

"I...I have to go talk to-"

"Were you guys talking about Amane?"

You and Mr. Tsuchigomori both turned to see Tsukasa standing in the doorway. Mr. Tsuchigomori narrowed his eyes.

"What do you want?" He slowly rose from his chair, his entire body tense as if he was waiting for the other apparition to make a move.
"Nothing from you, spider legs," Tsukasa spat before turning to smirk at you.
"I've come for her." You took out your staff and got into a fighting stance.
"Well, you're about to leave empty ha-" Two larger hands came out from under Mr. Tsuchigomori's jacket and moved to push you behind him. You gave him a confused look, and he glanced back at you, giving you a stern look that clearly said, stay put.
"That's not happening," he said calmly, as he turned back to stare at Tsukasa.
"I wasn't asking." Tsukasa laughed as he disappeared, his laugh echoing throughout the whole room.

"Over here." A voice suddenly came from behind you, and with lightning-quick reflexes, Mr. Tsuchigomori grabbed your arm, pushing you away before throwing a punch, but not hitting anything.

"Made ya look!" Cold arms wrapping around your waist made you gasp, and Mr. Tsuchigomori whirled around, preparing to throw another punch only to stop when he saw Tsukasa holding you close, so close that if he were to try to attack Tsukasa, there was a chance he might hit you too.

"Gotcha," Tsukasa whispered in your ear as he pressed his index and middle finger on your forehead. A wave of drowsiness hit you and you felt yourself falling back into Tsukasa's arms. You tried to fight back, but you felt yourself slowly losing consciousness. You heard Mr. Tsuchigomori and Tsukasa talking, but their voices soon faded into nothing as you passed out.

"Let her go," Mr. Tsuchigomori growled as he watched you fall asleep. Tsukasa picked you up bridal style and gave his signature smile.

"You know, you're terrible at hiding how much you care for her," he said. "Maybe you pity her because you already know what's going to happen to her, and I'm sure you've read who'll be the one to do it." Mr. Tsuchigomori lowered his head at his words and Tsukasa smiled.
"Ohh, You feel guilty because you know there's nothing you can do to stop it." Tsukasa chuckled darkly, knowing he got under the male's skin. "I'll return her eventually, but there are a few things I need to tell her first."
Mr. Tsuchigomori reached out to grab you, but Tsukasa moved back before he could.
"Bye-bye!" He said as black smoke began to surround the two of you, and when it cleared, you both were gone.
