━ chap 9. moonlight dancing !

"And you need a piano for that?" Ladybug questioned a bit confused as she span around to face him now, and was also very interested to see where this was going, not knowing that this thing with him would end up in tears eventually.

Cat Noir sat down on the long chair in front of the piano, preparing himself to show the girl he adored the very song he poured his whole heart, and soul into, "A gift." He whispered loud enough for her ears to hear, as he gazed at her with such a soft, tender look that it took her breath away, "For you, m'lady."

He tucked the chair in more so he could sit up straight to look charming for her, and turned his head away from her in awe gaze back to the piano. He lifted his claws up to press against the keys, and began to play the tune he worked so hard on for her.

"Can't believe the world that
you've reveled to me."

Ladybug slowly got up from her spot on the edge of the stage, as she held up one hand against her heavily beating heart for him, and walked up to the side of the piano, to watch him play. Behind Cat Noir the red curtains were pulled back, to reveal a magical night sky filled with paper clouds, moons and stars all hanging in the air from the ceiling.

"For the first time, I feel truly free. It's all thanks to you."

She gazed up at the enchanting creation he himself made for this, now in complete amazement seeing what was being presented. She met his tender gaze with one of her own, and smiled softly as she gripped the edge of the piano.

"I feel the same. You pushed me through the doubt, the pain. And as our paths collide again, I know what to do."

His gloved fingers stopped playing the piano after hearing her words, as she now had turned her back on him to gaze out at the theater's inside, and was stuck in her deep thoughts about everything, including her feelings.

A sudden shuffling noise followed by a creak in one of the decorations up in the air was heard through her ears, making her quickly turn around to see what had happened, and furrowed her brows when she didn't see him on the piano anymore.

"Take my hand!"

Her (E/C) masked eyes flickered from the empty seat of the piano, and up towards Cat Noir perched on a paper moon hanging off the ceiling. He held ono the string connecting it, as his other was outstretched for her to grab, a bright, and welcoming grin covering his lips.

"As we stand."

Ladybug bit down on her bottom lip to try and suppress her giant smile, bangs covering her forehead now, as she slowly reached her hand up to take his warm one. His hand curled around hers tightly, and gently pulled her towards him, as he bent down to her height.

"Let's face the world."

He helped her up gently onto the bottom of the crescent shaped moon, still staring down at her softly as their hands didn't let go from in the middle, and was raised up towards the roof by the object they were perched on.

"There is nothing that can defeat us."

The duo made it outside into Paris night time city light, the Eiffel tower beaming with bright yellow lights that seemed to eliminate everything around. They were standing on a roof ledge, hands still intertwined as one in between them, as they both outstretched their other one.

"Day and night."

Cat Noir turned his head back to the girl of his dreams, and swiftly stepped back a bit with her hand in his, as he tugged her along with him.

He gently pulled her in close by the hand, their faces inches apart, and wore matching smiles as he teasingly rubs his slightly masked nose into hers, making the girl giggle softly that warmed his heart.

"You and I, let's show the world."

He went to lean back where the end of the roof was, as she frantically shakes her head seeing him doing this, and panics when she planted her suited feet more into the solid ground.

The male just smiled reassuring at her, and gave her hand a squeeze that let her relax momentarily feeling his comfort, and didn't protest as he pulled her over the edge with him. He fell first down through the air, both their hands now holding each others, as their hair blew in the gentle breeze of the night.

"That nothing will come between us."

His baton expanded towards the ground to catch their fall together, as he was perched on the end of it and held her in his arm bridal style, until he swinged her up into the air now also. She gracefully flew through the air, aiming her yo-yo at a roof, and swings around it briefly.

"Thanks to you, I've become confident
to know I am free."

Ladybug landed on another roof that had a brick wall in between the parts, which brought back memories of them to before. When she spotted Cat Noir leaping towards where she was, she quickly hid behind the wall away from him, quietly laughing seeing him looking for her.

"When I feel overrun. It's no
longer all on me."

His back was turned to her which gave her the chance to jump out of her hiding place, and went up to tap his shoulder, but quickly went behind him as he turned around feeling the touch from her.

"Hearts and minds."

She placed both hands on his shoulders now to play with him, as he moved his head back around to catch her gaze, grinning like a dork at the banter. She ran a finger under his chin teasingly as he did spot her, making him slightly purr and her to giggle while swinging away from him.

"Now combined."

The yo-yo brought her towards another roof once again as it zipped back into itself when she landed, and she heard Cat Noir landing behind the other side of a bricked wall again. She span herself towards the wall to land her back against it, knowing who was on the other side.

"I am stronger when you're by my side."

A soft husked chuckle left his mouth hoping he had caught her now, as he pushed himself up on the side of the brick wall to catch her, but instead was met with her falling off the side of the building, smirking smugly at his confused face.

She made herself swing to underneath the bridge of the road with her yo-yo, and came in contact with him now also down underneath it. She still held onto the yo-yo's string with one hand, while the other was hanging by her side watching him softly.

"I can share all my cares. You've laid
bare my deepest flaws."

He snuck his arm around her waist to gently pull her onto his baton in between the bridge, and grabbed her hand to bring her chest closer to his. She pressed her free hand against his shoulder a little, stifling a snicker as she nudged him a bit into the water.

"You caught me unaware."

They were now both on some chimneys inside the town of Paris of some buildings, as he jumped to the next one when she appeared behind him, and that kept going until they landed on the roof where no more chimneys were together.

"Now my fate is tied with yours."

He outstretched both clawed hands for her to take when they landed on solid ground, causing her to take them with a sweet smile thrown at him, and he swung her up onto the side of another bricked building.

"Hearts and minds now combined."

They both ran up the side of the buildings quickly to try and beat the other one, as he was running on all fours like an actual cat, and leapt up into the air when they arrived up top. He grabbed onto her arms tightly, and swinged her up first up into the air.

"I am stronger, so stay by my side!"

Cat Noir was floating in the air momentarily till he felt Ladybug's familiar yo-yo wrap around his waist, and tugged him up to where she was. Her weapon let go of his figure, as she twirled herself in the air, and opened her hand out for his baton to now pull her up this time.

The sliver stick did expand into her hand as she grabbed onto it, and she was swiftly tugged up to him up in the air, as he caught onto her hand to swing her around briefly. Their fingers go to slide through each others in between them, as they descend in a circle towards some clouds under the moonlight of Paris.

Once they landed on the fluffy clouds below them, Cat Noir dipped Ladybug's body a little bit, as he had one hand rested near her lower back, and the other was still tightly intertwined with hers, not letting go anytime soon.

"You save the world every day with your mask," He softly began to confess in a adoration filled tone, gazing at her like she was his entire world and more, "but the girl behind it saved my heart."

Her (E/C) masked eyes go wide hearing his sudden words, feeling her heart flutter with butterflies as she skin squirms under his sudden intense look on her, and parted her mouth to gasp quietly.

His arm slides up to her higher back more, and grips her hand even tighter so her hand was fully covered by his as he slowly brought her up, his eyes never leaving hers for a second.

"What is this feeling now?"

Cat noir out span her body so their hands were still together, and that their arms outstretched away from each others, and he then pulled Ladybug back into his chest with another spin movement.

"I cannot fall for him."

Under the Paris' moonlight these two conflicted, but yet in love souls were dancing like their was no tomorrow for them. Her back made its way against his chest through the waltz, as he held the front of her hands in his palm, and she gazed up at his tilted head with a gentle smile, all while he matched her stare fondly.

He raised their left hands intertwined now up above their heads, as he twirled her back around to face him, and slipped his hand down to her waist slowly. He then dipped her down again, her hand grabbing onto his forearm to stable herself, and gave him a shy look seeing how he was staring at her as her stomach flipped.

Cat Noir's entire face softened gazing at her face under the moonlight, as he never thought she looked so beautiful beaming underneath it. His lips were lifted up into an loving smile, and his eyes held an loving glint in them.

"His eyes move me somehow."

Sending Ladybug a charming smirk now seeing her reaction to his expressions, he brought her back up from the dip, and now began to waltz some more across the clouds. One of her hands was resting behind his shoulder, as the other was being held up by his in the air, and his other hand was rested gently behind her back also.

"I shouldn't start something . . . But yet I know he feels it too."

They span around in slow circles with each other in a passionate dance, their eyes never leaving each others as they were their only focus right now. His hand squeezed hers to signal he was enjoying this, and gently tugged her a bit forward so their chests just rested against one another now, causing her breath to hitch.

"I know that look dancing
between those eyes."

Everything seemed to fall into slow motion for the hero duo now finally realising their true feelings, as Ladybug gazed up at him doe eyed through her eyelashes, and it caused Cat Noir to exhale shakily seeing the look, face showing pure affection for her.

"It is the same one I've tried to disguise."

Her heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing in the space between them as they came to a stop of their dancing. She could feel his breath, a gentle caress against her lips, as her own pulse raced in response. The intensity of his gaze was like a gravitational force, drawing her in with an irresistible pull as their eyes locked.

Time to seemed to stretch, the world around them fading into insignificance as their focus stayed on each other. The moonlight seemed to shine brighter down on their intertwined figures now, and their shadows were being reflected into the clouds below them.

She slid her hand down to rest gently against his heavily beating heart, lips parting slightly more as if inviting him to bridge the gap between them. He mirrored her movement, his own breath hitching in anticipation, as he swallowed the lump in his throat.

The distance that remained felt both tantalising and agonizing, a reminder of the unspoken emotions that surged between them. They could almost taste the sweetness of the forbidden, the intensity of their connection coursing through their veins like a fair waiting to ignite.

Every fiber of their beings longed to close that last fraction of distance, to surrender to the intensity of their desires. Yet, the unspoken partnership tension that held them captive, a fragile balance that they feared might shatter if they dared to cross that final threshold.

Cat Noir's fingers twitched when his hands slide down to grasp her waist gentle, a visible display of the restraint he struggled to maintain, as his tail goes to curl around one of her legs. Ladybug's own hands trembled, fingers digging into the material of his suit, as if reaching out to grasp something just beyond her reach.

Inch by agonizing inch their faces drew closer together, as his nose gently grazed against hers in between them. His dilated eyes flitted from her lips to her eyes and back again, a silent plea for permission that she seemed to grant with the faintest nod, and shoulder squeeze.

Time, suspended for so long, rushed back in a torrent as their lips finally brushed together. It was a feather-light touch, a mere whisper of a kiss, but it held within it the promise of something more.

The tension that had gripped them began to unravel, replaced by a different kind of intensity, a consuming passion that welled up from the depths of their souls. Their lips met again in the middle, this time with a hunger that bordered on desperation, a deep-seated need to bridge the gap that had held them captive for so long.

Both of their eyes go fluttering shut tight finally feeling their lips against each others, as both their insides tingle with an overwhelming warmth. He sighed softly into her mouth, lips moving in gentle sync with her as he gripped her waist tighter, and pulled her closer into his chest.

Her hand slipped up to the back of his neck grip that loosely, and kept him in place to kiss him just a firm back as he was. Her fingers found their place just below his hair now, and slightly felt the fluffy strains of hair in between her suited fingers, as their lips continued to move against each others.

However even with the happy moment finally arriving for both parties, a flash of Adrien's smiling face appeared in Ladybug's vision and it made her quickly pull herself out of the kiss, shuddering and breathing heavily.

Cat Noir had to rapidly blink to knock himself out of the love sick state he was in, and felt his heart crack into pieces realising she didn't want him like that, by the conflicted frown covering her features, as his hold on her body dropped.

She looked up at him through her eyelashes, and tried to calm her breathing down from the intense kiss as he was also, by the way his chest moved up and down faster.

She bit down on her wobbly bottom lip spotting his teary eyes now, and felt her heart ache in guilty. It wasn't like she didn't want him, or love him like that... it was just there was Adrien in her picture, and better, safer this way for them.

"I'm sorry, my heart is already somebody else's we can't see this through."

They were slowly placed back down onto a roof top from up in the clouds, as they disappeared when the duo landed against the solid ground. Ladybug's hand slipped from inside Cat Noir's agonisingly slow, and she walked a bit away from him towards the ledge of the roof.

He watched her figure with a painful, and hurt expression over his face, as his ears on top of his head were folded down to show his mood more. He loved this girl more then anything, and that was including (Y/N). He didn't care how selfish that sounded, but he wanted, no needed to have them both in his life no matter the consequences.

"Wait, don't go. Just give it time to grow. We could be great, I know. I'm falling for you."

Cat Noir had grabbed a hold of Ladybug's wrist in his hand gently, as his eyes pleaded, no begged her to stay in his silent way of communication. Her face scrunched up painfully seeing his expression, and sniffled slightly to control her emotions.

"I'm sorry, Kitty." Her voice was a croak of a whisper, (E/C) eyes beginning to shimmer over with waterworks, as she pulled her wrist back, "This can't work out between us." She gave one last look of longing at his defeated figure, before leaping off the roof to disappear into the night.

Now rushing away from one of the males she longs to have, a few frustrated and exhausted tears slip out of her eyes, that run down her masked face and land onto the roof she was running across to her home.

Ladybug didn't mean to hurt Cat Noir like that, nor did she ever want to do so because she knew her true feelings, and understood her heart was big enough to love both him and Adrien. It's just.. her self doubt and the responsibility of saving Paris got in the way of those things.

Groaning internally to herself at the situation she was in, she rapidly wiped her tears away and came to a skidding stop across the roof she was about to jump off, "Oh, god!" She whispered yelled to herself, and tugged at her messy locks of hair with wide eyes thinking about what happened before, "Did I seriously just kiss Cat Noir, my superhero partner?!"

Her lips and body were still tingling from his warm touch, and it was driving her insane just feeling it. She ran a tired hand down her forehead, and sighed sadly to herself as she picked up her running back home again, finding no use in mopping around about something that's already been done.

......

Another bright and early day of school was beginning as students fill the hallways, and the outside stairs with laugher, talks, voices and whatever they were currently doing with their lifes.

(Y/N) was inside those hallways after her sister and friends finally persuaded her to give the gift to Adrien, as she was leaning on a corner wall to look at the people passing by.

"Tikki, I-" She took a deep breath to calm her overwhelming thoughts, as the Kwami was right next to her in the air, "I know I like them both, but I also know I have a better chance with Adrien."

"Just follow your heart." Tikki gently reassured the girl with a hug to the cheek, her smaller hands pressed against her owners face to provide comfort in anyway she could right now.

The (H/C) haired girl raised a finger up to hug Tikki back for a second, and let her go as the creature flew back out beside her, "You're right. My heart..." She trailed off in thought, and spotted Adrien coming out of the library, making her eyes go wide in panic, "That's him!"

"Go for it!" Tikki got behind her best friends back to give her a shove towards the incoming male, as she yelped loudly not expecting that and stumbled to a stop in front of him.

She shot back up straight once she was on her two feet again, and kept the gift behind her back as her (E/C) eyes locked onto him, "Hey, Adrien!" She greets with a nervous smile, and tried not to stutter seeing his handsome face.

His once depressed expression was slightly brightened up at her arrival, as he took out his earphones to hear what she had to say, "Hey, (Y/N)." His tone was a defeated one, as he looked away from the earplugs.

This worried her a bit hearing the pain in his voice, and wondered if things back at home were getting worse for him, or unless... something else happened to him—

Shaking away those thoughts, she gripped the gift in her hands more, "I've been thinking about the ball, and I thought maybe you'd like to..." She pulls out his present from behind her hesitantly, and smiled at him sweetly, "go with me?"

His green eyes go wide at her serious question as he didn't expect that at all, and his face softened on her figure until he sighed sadly while glancing away from her briefly, "Sorry, (Y/N)-" He finally made eye contact with her confused doe eyes, and it made his already aching heart clench, "but I... can't."

He took a few steps forward to leave a small gab between them, and brushed his fingers against her fingers wistfully, "You're perfect in every way.." He praised in a gentle whisper before stepping back with a conflicted frown, "but I just can't, not right now. I'm sorry..."

Her once happy expression dropped into a one of dread as his shoulder brushed past hers when he walked away, and her wide eyed gaze followed his sadden figure through the hallways. Guess she really didn't have a chance with him, and now Adrien rejecting her showed that. But yet, she didn't blame him for doing so.

"I tried to warn you." A familiar snobby voice of Chloe was heard from behind her, as the blonde haired girl came out from resting against the locker wall towards her, "Fairy tales don't come true." She placed a hand against her chest, and had a smug look over her makeup face, "There is someone else he's interested in, and she's right in front of you."

(Y/N) flinched back away from the bully as the school bell rings around the hallways, and her eyes start to become glossy now, hating how this was effecting her a lot especially the blonde haired girls words. She couldn't compete with her, Chloe was so much more beautiful then her, and had everything she didn't. She wouldn't be shocked if Adrien did pick Chloe over her, and wouldn't blame him once again.

"Stop getting in our way." Chloe seethes out a warning, giving the other girl a disgusted eyeing look over (Y/N) before Chloe flicked her hair over her shoulder, and marched off towards somewhere else.

The (H/C) haired girl's shoulders slump in defeat, not knowing how Cat Noir felt when she rejected his feelings for her as Ladybug. She bit down on her trembling bottom lip, and lifted up the gift she worked so hard on with Marinette for Adrien, as a few lose tears drip down onto her cheeks.

She rubs her thumb over his name tag she wrote with her pen, and sniffled quietly to herself as Tikki peeks out of her coat to give her a sad, and worried look. (Y/N) gave one last look over at the present that could of brought them together, and let it fall out of her hand into the trash bin.

ah yes angst is here guys which sucksss and yess i knoww the kiss scene wasn't really detailed which i did on purpose cause that isn't the 'main' kiss between them sooo don't be mad guys cause i do normally write my kiss scenes veryyy detailed 👹
