010. Destruction Of Paris. . .

FRANCE, PARIS 2023.
chap 10. destruction of paris !

Inside their now shared bedroom (Y/N) and her sister Marinette, find solace amidst Paris' nocturnal beauty. Through the glass window, the distant hum of night time traffic mingles with their soft talking, creating a symphony of urban life.

The room is bathed in a soft radiance of a table lamp, casting warm shadows on the walls adorned with sketches, and artwork from the younger twin sister. The two of them sat cuddled up together on the double bed inside, as Marinette had her sister laying against her chest, and her arms tiggly around her in comfort.

(Y/N)'s heartache lingers as she recounts the rejection from Adrien, and how she also rejected Cat Noir's feelings for her, even if she kissed him back. Her gaze drifts over Marinette's shoulder to the moonlit cityscape, wondering if the city's magic could somehow mend her wounded feelings.

Marinette, a pillar of support leant the side of her head against her sisters, and squeezed the top of (Y/N)'s hand placed on her lap, "Don't let this get to you." Her voice was soft, and sympathetic, "I know for a fact Adrien adores you so much, and there has to be a logical reason why he did this to you."

Her (E/C) watery eyes flickered back to the other girls blue ones, and scrunched her nose up through a sniffle as she leant up out of their embrace to sit on the edge of the blue bed, shoed feet just touching the wooden floor.

"I don't know anymore Mari...." She trailed off in a croak, and glanced down at her lucky bracelet around her wrist, more tears blurring her vision that caused her to blink rapidly, "I thought that as well, but maybe Chloe's right... I'm nothing compared to everyone else. Even in Adrien's eyes.."

Marinette's face hardened up hearing her twin talking bad about herself, and shot up quickly to sit up beside her, as she grabbed the side of (Y/N)'s face with her hands turning her head around.

"Listen here (N/N), and make sure you listen well." She began to talk in a firm way, and squished her sisters cheeks together to make her look like a fish, "You're not like everybody else, and that's a good thing! You're amazing, and perfect in your own way."

Her mouth twitches up into a warm smile, and motioned with her head to the picture on the wall of (Y/N), and Adrien together, in the center of everything hanged up on the wall, including family and friend photos.

It had him staring at her with such a tender look instead of the camera, and her smiling brightly at the camera unaware of him giving her that look in the moment.

"I know damn well that Adrien Agreste sees that as well," Marinette turned (Y/N)'s head to the photo on the wall, and let her hands drop once her sisters eyes went wide seeing it up on there for real this time, "even if he did kinda reject you right now, that doesn't mean you should give up on what you two have."

(Y/N) nibbled on her bottom lip with a conflicted expression, and fiddled with her lucky bracelet to control her overflowing thoughts, that were very well making her overthink about everything in her life right now.

She knew Marinette approved of Adrien, and agreed he really did love her, because normally Marinette would be on a rampage if someone had broke her heart like that, and especially made her shed tears over a guy.

"I mean you could be right, Mari-" She admitted in a whispering tone, and sighed exhausted as she uncrossed her legs to stand up, and walked over to her bedside table while her sister watched her worriedly.

She stared down at the newspaper article of Ladybug and Cat Noir titled 'our heroes!!', and reached down to gentle pick it up, as she traced over the title frowning softly, "I just don't think I'll ever let myself think that..."

Marinette's shoulders slumped hearing her younger sister still hesitated, and lifted herself up to walk up behind her, as the two of them now stood in front of the room's dresser mirror placed in the a corner for designing.

"Don't trap yourself in your mind, and thoughts (Y/N)." The blue haired girl gently spoke to the younger one, and slipped her arms around her waist briefly to gaze into the mirror at their reflection, chin resting on (Y/N)'s shoulder, "I'll be downstairs of you need me."

Marinette gave one last squeeze to her sisters body against hers, as she left a reassuring kiss on the side of her head, an eventually moved out from behind her to walk out of the bedroom, closing the door shut gently behind her.

Once the older teen was gone out of the room officially, (Y/N) let a few more tired tears escape her eyes gazing at her reflection in the mirror, and turned away from it not liking what was looking back at her. She placed the newspaper back down on the table, and grabbed her coat instead off of it.

She wiped away her tears under her eyelashes quickly hating how much crying she's done, and placed the coat over her shoulders, knowing in one of the pockets carried the Miraculous earrings.

Brushing over the coat now being worn over her body, she rolled her shoulders back with a deep sigh, and pushed back some of her (H/C) locks behind her ears, to reveal more of her face and ears, as her bangs still laied on her forehead.

With one more longing glance between the photo with Adrien on her wall, and the one with Cat Noir in the newspaper, she made her way up to the small roof of her family's house, and was met with the comforting night time environment.

The city's daytime chaos had given way to a tranquil stillness, allowing the night time breeze to weave its way through the narrow streets and cobblestones alleys. The Eiffel Tower stood tall in the distance, its iron lattice illuminated by a soft, golden glow.

As the night breeze gently tousled her hair around, (Y/N) closed her eyes briefly, absorbing the soothing symphony of distant laugher, and the occasional car passing by. The air was infused with the subtle aroma of freshly baked baguettes, and delicate notes of blooming flowers from hidden gardens.

She crossed her arms over the railing around the rooftop to make herself comfortable, and gripped the materials of her coat in between her fingers, exhaling slowly to calm her racing heartbeat, and thoughts.

However (Y/N)'s attention was brought back up when a sudden loud, and purple struck of lighting appeared in her line of sight, followed by cries of help. She gasped in terror at the sight in front that was happening down below, and up in the skies.

The skies were now even more cloudy full of darkness, as they had a purple and evil aura surrounding them, and another eerier struck of lightning appeared again. She looked down below to see people screaming, and fleeing out of their cars down the streets away from the cause of the sudden chaos.

She knew what she had to feeling the earrings pulse inside her pocket, as a small glow illuminating from the pocket, and slipped her hand in it to grab them in her palm once found.

(Y/N) held up the now glowing jewels to her eyes, just as a determined expression takes over her features, and scrunches her palm up tightly, knowing she was needed as Ladybug now more then ever.

.....

Now as the Paris hero Ladybug she swung herself to the center of the mess being made by what she knew, was the villain Hawkmoth. She landed against the cement below with a thump, hearing even more screams of panic as she slowly raised from her kneeling position, and choked a gasp seeing what Paris had now become.

Amidst the darkness that had engulfed Paris, the city once adorned with beauty now stood in complete ruins. Fires raged uncontrollably, casting an eerie glow across the devastated landscape. The once bustling streets were now littered with debris, and broken remnants of buildings that had once held the stories of generations.

Smoke billowed into the sky, obscuring the stars and casting an ominous shroud over the city of lights. Ladybug began to wander through the destruction, her steps cautious, and heart heavy with disbelief, as the flames crackle from the burning rumble.

The air was acrid with the scent of burning wood, and metal, a stark reminder of the catastrophe that had befallen this once lively city. As Ladybug surveyed the scene, a low rumble reverberated through the ground that was followed by a little girl screaming, sending tremors that jolted her senses.

She quickly span around to located the source of the noise from behind, and didn't see anything but fires and the destruction of the fallen city. That was until a woman with her child were running from out of the shadows, and quite fast as well from something behind them, which caused her masked eyes to narrow down.

The massive flock of violet infected akuma were following behind the pair, as a ball of purple power landed behind them also, and created a explosion that made even more of a mess.

"Take shelter!" Ladybug exclaimed panicked now spotting the source of their running, and went to sprint on towards them knowing they would need saving from the butterflies chasing them.

The little girl ended up tripping over mid run with a whimper, and shouted as she tumbled to the broken ground. She cried out to her mother, who gasped seeing her daughter fallen, and rushed back to grab her, just as the screeching of voices from the butterflies swell right right near them.

Before they prepared to get hit with the many akuma's heading for them, Ladybug swinged in to save the day as she tackled them out of the way off towards the side in her arms safely.

She used her body to shied them from the passing flock, and slowly stood up to watch the screeching creatures pass, until a car slammed near them causing them all to shout in shock, and protect their heads.

Ladybug raised her arms down from her face once the coast was clear, blinking rapidly with a parted mouth and started to feel a bad feeling in her stomach, wondering where her other half was right now, "Where you are, kitty?"

.....

Unbeknown to her Cat Noir aka Adrien was laying on his bed moping around, and listening to 'careless whisper' through his earphones, completely not aware of the current sisutition happening.

A few sighs and whimpers leave his mouth, as his Miraculous was trilling neon green on his finger, and had a defeated look over his face scrolling through photos of (Y/N), and Ladybug on his phone that were majority of his camera roll.

His fingers zoom in on a photo of him, and (Y/N) together in the same on that was in he room, as his lips twitch upwards affectionately seeing her awkward grinning face, and brought her screen face closer to his real one.

"I love her so much that it drive me insane," He groans to himself through another whimper, and flickered his eyes from his phone to his ring glowing on his fingers, chuckling bitterly, "The less interested you are, the more they run after you."

......

Ladybug was helping the civilians flee away from the chaotic area, as she directed them towards where the fires hadn't hit yet, and picked up a child to place him down with his parents waiting for him, who thanked the hero frantically.

People were still screaming in fear at what was happening, and not that anyone blamed them because she was just as terrified, but couldn't
afford to let it effect her right now, as Paris needed saving.

Once there was no more civilians near the entrance of the area she was in, Ladybug pushed through the rushing crowd around her, and paused her movements once she spotted something incoming in the corner of her masked eyes.

A gasp of fear left her parted lips seeing a massive pulsing forcefield of purple, akumatised butterflies coming down to where everyone still was, and heard the ominous rumbling of the incoming creation.

Not even taking a second to think about it, she took off in a sprint to right underneath it, swiftly pulling off her yo-yo from around her waist and brough it up in front of her, praying she could do something to stop it from harming anyone else.

She swinged her yo-yo in a fast circle in front of her with one hand, and yelled out when she felt the force of the creation slamming into it. A strained grunt left her mouth as she tried to keep the butterflies back, just as the brick under her suited foot broke because of the amount of force being pushed back onto her.

Her masked eyes squinted from the blinding light right in her eyeline, as a pained shout escaped her struggling to keep ahold on the power trying to break out of her yo-yo's swining. Her arm were now shaking, which made her quickly push up her other one to use it to keep her yo-yo circling around.

Ladybug's suited feet were slowly slipping back with each hit from the butterflies, as it was now creating a dust explosion of purple that had many akuma's flying out from the dust to around her figure towards the civilians.

A male was running past the hero trying to stop the madness, and he stopped in his tracks thinking this would be a good time for a photo. He pulled out his phone to turn it around, seeing how Ladybug was almost falling over from stopping the forcefield, and broke into a pose for the camera instead of his scared one.

Just as the shatter snapped the photo, Ladybug just heard the noise over everything that was happening right now, and gritted her teeth while yelling out loudly to the male, as she just turned her head to him, "Run!"

He didn't think twice being told that from her as he flees down the subway stairs from the chaos above, and she watched him rush away through many grunts of exhaustion, feeling better now that hopefully all the innocent civilians were gone to safety.

However, her masked eyes went wide in fear when the force of the power got stronger against her yo-yo, and tried to hold it up with all her strength while spinning her weapon even more, but it wasn't enough all alone.

She cried out when she was sent back by the exploding force of the butterflies, and skidded across the ground in a heap until she landed against her side, barely conscious anymore from all the hits received from the harsh cement.

A pained whimper left her lips at the sudden heavy feeling of exhausting over her body, as she carefully flips herself onto her back, breathing becoming laboured now. She needed her hero other half, but yet where was he in Paris', her time of need? Nowhere to be found, and it left a sinking hole in her heart.

Ladybug wheezed some breathes out of her mouth, her masked gaze droopy as her yo-yo trills from beside her urgently, and it made her hand weakly reach out for it, whimpering in fear.

Another explosion that sent the cement breaking a few meters away from her, made the girl give up on grabbing her yo-yo, and snapped her head up to see a tall human figure that was made up of dark butterflies, and screeched loudly at her on the floor wounded.

It went to spiral down to her in a quick pace that even she wasn't prepared for, and it made her raise one of her arms up to protect herself, eyes closing to get ready for the brutal hit that may surely end everything there.

However, even with the explosion landed on where she was, and creating a massive puff of purple and dark mist, a figure came speedily skidding out from it with Ladybug in their arms in a secure hold.

The smokey fog slowly disappeared to reveal who was holding her in their arms, as Ladybug's head was resting on Cat Noir's chest with her eyes scrunched closed. One of his arms was just around her shoulders, while the other was under her he back of her knees, to hold her bridal style like the first time they met each other.

"Look's like you do need me after all." His smooth voice sounded just by her ears, which made the girl's (E/C) eyes to flutter open with a groan, and saw his softly smiling face just inches from hers, "Hey, princess."

Her face slowly brighted up hearing, feeling and seeing her partner now with her, as a small relived sob escaped her. She threw her arms around his neck tightly feeling a sense of déjà vu, digging her face into the side of his neck, as she gripped his suit to ignore the pain she felt on her body, "I-I thought you weren't gonna-"

He cooed a soft hush against her ear at her trembling words, placing his hand touching her shoulders to behind the back of her head to keep her in place, and squeezed her into his chest, "I'll always be here to save you, no matter how far away I am."

She sniffled into the crook of his neck with a shudder feeling his warm lips touching her forehead, and breathed his scent in deeply to calm herself down, as his clawed hands rubs her back up and down.

Though now remembering what happened between them before, she pulled herself back from his hold quite quickly. She faced away from his as she held onto the side of her injured arm, and spoke in a bitter tone, "Nice of you to finally show up."

He flinched back at her sudden change of attitude, mouth parting in shock as he scrunches his knuckles up and growls a bit through his mocking words, "Your boyfriend too busy to lend a hand?"

"I don't have a-!" She went to exclaim back to him annoyed, but breathed a deep inhale to steady herself, and felt her eye twitch in exhaustion, as she gripped her arm a bit more loosely, "We're not doing this now, kitty."

Up above them in the skies of a darkened Paris another lighting struck hits, which the famous Effiel Tower now had a massive, and layered dark cloud forming around above it, which had purple flashes inside it from time to time.

"We don't have what it takes, Cat Noir." Ladybug whispered in defeat to him, the duo now standing beside each other to glare up at the scene, as she swallowed the guilty lump in her throat, "It's too strong."

He does hear her words but doesn't pay mind to them as he pulled out his black baton, clicking the button to making it power-up, and it expanded in between his hands, "I'll take it from here." He grunted out to her, before leaping off the ground from his baton pushing him up to the tower.

"No! Cat Noir, it's-" She went to yell out in protest to him, and took a step forward for her to only yelp in pain from her twisted ankle, and looked up at his figure getting future away from her, "stronger together..."

He was running up the tower's metal like a cat on all fours, swiftly avoiding the blasts that Hawkmoth was sending down from up top, and used his baton to fling himself up higher towards the top.

Using his baton not to contuing pulling himself up to metal, he pushed the back behind in his belt, and began to sprint up it again like normal now, just as more yellow and purple explosions went off behind him.

"The kitten is in the lion's mouth." Hawkmoth's voice was echoing, and much deeper from being akumatised by his own akuma's. He had a four winged purple hologram behind his back like a butterfly, followed by actual dark ones flying over his head to make him more scarier, along with the distorted skies.

Cat Noir lands up on the lower platform from the top of the tower, a determined expression over his face as he held his baton in one hand, glaring hatefully up at the villain of everyone's problems.

Putting back his weapon on his belt again, he scrunched his ring hand up as a neon green spark appears over his hand, "Cataclysm!" He called his power, before bending his knees and took a massive leap up into the air towards Hawkmoth.

His clawed hand that held his power was raised out while the other was brought back, and one of his legs was bent while the other was straight, as he grunts to reach where the bad guy was.

Once he reached Hawkmoth in the air he was stopped by an invisible force that got him caught, making Cat Noir switch the power to his other hand as it created another spark. He tried to swing that at Hawkmoth who easily dodged the hits, and slammed Cat Noir back down onto the metal platform when he had an opening.

Cat Noir landed against the metal with a thump, as his power sparks on the tower which indeed did end up cataclyisng it. He sucks in a breath of air, and gasped realising what he did spotting how the metal was melting into a dark colour. It soon spread all over the Eiffel Tower, all the way down the metal as the bolts now snap undone to keep it together.

From down below still on the ground Ladybug saw the entire thing, and stumbled back in her spot with strangled noises leaving her lips seeing what was happening, "Cat Noir!" She whimpers out with wide, scared eyes for his safety, not knowing what to do.

"Now let's see if cats always land on their feet." Hawkmoth declared sinisterly as he brought his hands down by his sides, which made another big explosion of purple and grey dust appear at the bottom of the tower.

This sent the tower slanting over suddenly with Cat Noir tripping back to grip onto the railing of it, just as Ladybug brought down her arms covering her face to see the damage, wishing that she was up there and not the person she cared most about.

The tower was creaking in a slanted direction, and not even a second later the tower snapped in half with many more purple strikes of lighting up in the gloomy skies, as the iconic landmark comes crashing down along with Paris' hero Cat Noir.

Ladybug felt her heart drop to her stomach in horror watching as her other half slipped off the metal, and was now falling down towards the water. Her mouth opens up in a silent screaming cry of his name, hopelessly unable to do anything witnessing him descending towards the lake, as sobs now leave her lips.

When his body slammed into the water, and disappeared underneath the surface most likely knocked out, she didn't waste a second as she began to stumble into a sprint towards where he was, "Cat Noir!" She cried out through heavy breathing.

Once she arrived at the edge of the lake she ignored the pain in her body still, and quickly divide into the cold water, which instantly washed away some of the dirt over her suit, but didn't stop the bleeding on some injuries.

She began to move her arms, pushing against the water, kicking her suited feet as she was desperate to save her partner. She searched frantically under the dark, misty take, until her masked eyes stop at the sight of a familiar blonde haired masked hero.

Ignoring the need for air now, Ladybug pushed herself through the water to where Cat Noir was peacefully floating in the depths. His eyes were closed shut which signaled he was knocked out, and his body was floating freely.

Once in arms reach for her, she grabbed his body and pulled him into her arms tightly. Her hand that wasn't gripping his waist went to gently caress his cold cheek, more tears appearing in her eyes that stung under the water seeing how ruffed up he looked.

Ladybug kicked her legs as fast as she could with his weight on her, and broke the surface with a heavy breath of air. His wet head was limply resting on her shoulder, and her free arm was around his waist to keep them both afloat, as her drenched bangs lay flat against her forehead now.

In the distance a few meters away from them in the air Hawkmoth appeared to hover about the water, using his glowing butterflies wings to help him to do so, as they seethe seeing the heroes.

She made a panicked noise seeing him now there, as she blows her bangs out of her forehead to see, and desperately began to swim back using one arm, with Cat Noir in her other towards a piece of metal in the water.

When Hawkmoth just touched the water's surface a scorch of his power appeared from out underneath, that made lava suddenly take over the water the two heroes were still swimming in, and it was getting closer to them as it bubbles hotly.

Ladybug released terrified whimpers seeing it getting closer to them, and holds his body closer to her side as she wasn't going to let him go even if it slowed her swimming down. She slides up Cat Noir's body onto the metal first with a great struggle, and pulls herself up on it next to grab under his shoulders to tug him the rest of the way with a heave just as the lava reached them.

She gently cradled his upper half against her side, as she had one arm underneath his shoulders, and the other was brushing back his wet locks, "Cat Noir, wake up!" She pleaded through a cry, not getting anything back but laboured breathing, and it made her sob out, "Cat Noir, please, answer me!"

Her hand moved from his wet hair to the side of his face, as she cupped his cheek and rubbed her thumb over his masked face, watching as he subconsciously leant into her touch a little bit.

"Don't leave me," She whispered in horrible voice crack, and moved her face down closer to his so their noses just touched, a few of her tears hitting his skin, "please, I can't do this without you-"

The butterflies screeching got closer to them now which had her head snapping up away from him, and felt her stomach churn in fear seeing Hawkmoth now hovering in front of them, smirking wickedly.
