"SO I GET MY LICENSE NEXT WEEK, and my mom is going to give me her Sentra. I'm thinking about putting a blue racing stripe down the middle, hood to tail."
Hawk was holding Lexi's hand while walking to the dojo, Miguel, being the third wheel.
Nothing new.
"Subtle, I like it." The trio walked around the corner to see multiple new students at the dojo.
"Looks like we got some new students." Hawk patted Miguel's chest then grabbed Lexi's waist closer to him.
"Fresh fish."
"It's the champs."
Hawk took this as an opportunity to mess with the new recruits.
"Watch this."
Lexi wanted to say something to stop her boyfriend, but she was too late since Hawk was already walking away.
Miguel and Lexi shared a glance before walking after Hawk.
"Hey, mouth-breathers, move it."
The two teens immediately got out of the way and opened the door for Hawk.
"Sorry about that. I'll get the door."
"So you guys wanna be Cobra Kais, huh?" Hawk threw a fake punch and the two boys who flinched away so fast.
"You got a long road ahead of you guys." Hawk and Miguel started to walk in the entrance of the dojo, Lexi being the last one to go in.
Before she could enter, a voice interrupted her.
"Wow, you are even prettier up close," one of the new recruits said. Lexi's eyes widened as she was scared for the boy. Lexi wasn't scared of him, more of what he has to go through with Hawk now that he said that.
Hawk darted out the door, hearing what the boy said, and gave him an ice-cold stare. Lexi felt her waist being grabbed aggressively, but not too aggressive by her boyfriend.
"You better watch your back now." Hawk gave the boy one last glare until walking into the dojo.
"Eli," Lexi said to Hawk in a scolding tone.
Hawk gave her a small look of sorrow before looking around the dojo.
"Woah, what happened in here?"
"Looks like Sensei threw a party."
"Must have been pretty sick if fire was involved." Hawk and Miguel looked around the dojo again while stepping on shards of glass.
Chatter overtook the dojo again until a loud voice caught the attention of the teenagers.
"Quiet!"
All eyes were immediately on Johnny. "The dojo is closed for new students today."
"We just wanted to sign up after we saw the tournament," Chris said, being bold talking back to Johnny.
"Do I need to say it again? Get out."
The new recruits walked out the door and when they were gone, Johnny yelled at his current students.
"Everyone fall in!" They started to scatter around, getting in their rows.
"Must've been a rager, Sensei."
"Yeah, were you celebrating all weekend?"
Johnny stared at Miguel and Hawk, a straight look on his face. "Celebrating what? My students are a bunch of pussies."
Hawk and Miguel's smile fell when Johnny said that. They gave each other weird looks before turning back to Johnny when he started to talk again. Lexi was also wondering why Johnny was in a pissy mood.
"Diaz, Hawk, upfront."
"Hawk."
"Did you attack your opponent when his back was turned?"
Lexi stood next to Johnny and turned to look at him, knowing what he was about to do.
"Yes, sensei!"
"Diaz. Did you purposely attack your opponent's injury?"
"Yes, sensei!"
Johnny circled the boys and stood in front of the two.
"You think that makes you badass?"
Miguel and Hawk looked at each other, then back at Lexi wondering why Johnny was acting like this.
"What's the matter, too tough a question? Don't look at Lexi, look at me!" Johnny was yelling now and it was obvious he was pissed.
Lexi's phone started to ring and she didn't recognize the number, so she declined the call and put her phone back in her pocket.
After several seconds, the phone started to ring again with the same number.
Hawk looked at Lexi, wondering who would be calling her this much.
She decided to finally answer it, just in case, it was important.
"Johnny, I'm going to go answer this." Johnny nodded his head and Lexi went out the door for some privacy. She pressed the green button and held her phone to her ear.
"Hello?"
"Well, how nice it is to hear your voice again darling."
Lexi had chills all over her body, recognizing the voice immediately.
"A-Austin." Lexi could barely say his name. This was the moment she dreaded for a very long time.
"Haven't heard from you in a long time, beautiful. I missed you."
Lexi's breath started to become shaky. She was going to have another panic attack. Flashbacks of the abuse she had to go through when they were dating flooded her mind.
"Don't call me that. I am not your girlfriend anymore."
Austin laughed evilly on the other line. "Baby, you're still my girlfriend and you always will be no matter what."
"You know what this is bullshit, I'm hanging up-"
"Oh, honey, I wouldn't do that if I were you." That caught Lexi's attention and refrained her from hanging up the phone.
"Alright, what do you want Austin?"
"Now that's my baby girl."
Lexi cringed at her old nickname from him, chills all around her body.
" I want you to meet me at the park near the spot you are at right now in two days at 6 pm."
Lexi scanned her surroundings, scared Austin was near her.
"Okay, what else?"
"Oh, don't have any ideas of telling your funky-looking boy toy or else."
Lexi was not stupid to let anyone else get involved. She knew how Austin acted and she wouldn't dare to put anyone else in danger.
"Okay, okay, fine. Meet you there in two days."
Austin hung up the phone, leaving a frightened Lexi outside the doors of Cobra Kai.
She was so into her thoughts, Lexi didn't even hear Johnny walk outside.
When Johnny put a hand on her shoulder, Lexi jumped, frightened thinking it was Austin.
Johnny looked at her with a concerned look curious as to why Lexi was jumpy.
"Woah there kiddo, it's just me."
"Oh, h-h-hey Johnny, w-why are you out here? Shouldn't you be watching your students?"
"Yeah, I'm punishing them for the tournament, but I came out here because you were talking on the phone for a long time. Just wanted to make sure you were okay."
Lexi smiled at how much Johnny cared for her.
"Yeah, I'm okay don't worry about m-me." Lexi still had a shaky breath which gave her away to Johnny that something was definitely not right.
Johnny gave her a look, not convinced at what she said. "Lexi, who were you on the phone with?"
Lexi bit her lip nervously not wanting to say who she was on the phone with.
"It was nobody. Just a telemarketer," Lexi lied.
"Bullshit, tell me who you were really on the phone with."
Wow, Like father like son, Johnny and Robby really wouldn't budge when it came to lying.
"It was a childhood friend. He wanted to catch up, so I'm meeting him for coffee in two days," Lexi partially lied.
"Mmmm, how would Hawk think about this "friend"? Lexi was oblivious to it, but it was obvious to Johnny that Hawk would go on a jealous rampage.
"Who said I was going to tell him? Johnny, you can NOT tell him, please I'm literally begging you." Johnny stared at her for a while until he nodded.
"Thanks, Johnny, I really owe you one." Lexi gave him a hug and he hugged back pretty much immediately.
"Come on, let's go back inside." Lexi nodded with a smile on her face, letting Johnny know she was okay.
But little did Lexi's friends know, she wasn't okay.
And the day she will visit Austin, will certainly be a day to remember.
For everyone.
