The air in the train car felt suffocating. They had no concept of time but it felt like they spent weeks in there, preparing to attack.
After discussing, they had come to the conclusion that they were outnumbered, weakened, and surrounded in the enemy's territory and that the odds weren't exactly on their side. But they had one thing. The element of surprise.
Garrett and his group had no idea what they were capable of or how strong they were together. They had no idea what they were up against.
Not giving Garett her knife had shown to be a smart move as it helped create weapons out of the things that they could find in the train car. They cut off bits of wood, sharpening it and turning it into a useful weapon. They used the things that they could find on themselves like shoelaces to make weapons.
They were now prepared, standing by the door clutching onto their weapons. Stella tightened her grip around her knife and casted a worried look over at Levi. He was still hurt from the arrow that had hit him, a few nights before. He said that he was okay but Stella was suspecting that it was slowly getting infected and she didn't even want to imagine what would happen if they didn't patch him up properly soon.
Levi looked up at her, sending her a reassuring nod. The girl forced a smile before returning her attention to their current situation. The men on the outside ordered them to stand against the walls but they remained in their positions, waiting for the door to slide open.
Several moments passed without anything happening. Then suddenly the sound of metal against metal echoed through the train car as a door opened. But it wasn't the one in front of them. Instead, sunlight poured in from above them. Stella's eyes flickered up, trying to adjust to the brightness but before she managed to see what was happening she heard a clanking sound by her feet. A loud explosion rang in her ears and she tried to cover her head with her arms. Levi didn't waste a second before he spun both him and Stella away from whatever had caused the explosion, pressing the girl against the wall.
Stella opened her eyes to see smoke, filling the train car. She heard coughing around her and tried to hold her breath. Levi pressed his sleeve against her mouth stopping her from breathing in whatever was filling their surroundings. Stella mimicked his actions, pressing her sleeve against his mouth as well. She stared at him with wide eyes as panic pulsed through her. Carl. Her dad.
She couldn't see or hear them through the smoke. She heard the screeching noise of the metal doors sliding open and suddenly, nothing was blocking the smoke from filling her lungs. She screamed at the lack of Levi's body pressed against her. She reached out for him but he had disappeared into the cloud of smoke.
She hurried forward and managed to get a glimpse of a man throwing Levi outside. She saw the exit and didn't hesitate before racing to it but her body was shoved backward as the man who had forced Levi outside pushed her back into the train car, her head hitting the floor.
The smoke that had filled her lungs took immediate effect as her vision blurred and a sudden exhaustion overcame her. She tried to scream but her body was on its way out of consciousness making her head fall back and her eyelids slowly swept over her sight leaving her in darkness.
They had just found each other. Her promised he wouldn't leave her ever again. But she was stuck in there and he was outside, forced away to his possible death.
Levi's head collided with the hard ground outside the train car. His vision blurred from whatever smoke he had inhaled earlier and his head throbbed from the fall.
He shuffled backwards, heading for the now closed train car hoping to get back to Dtella but a man stepped before him blocking his path. He mumbled something inaudible before the back of his shoe met Levi's face forcing him out of consciousness.
When he woke up he felt himself getting dragged over the floor. He heard drills and disturbing gushing sounds but he couldn't tell what it was as his vision still was groggy.
He made a hopeless attempt to flee but his body was weakened and held by two string hands. His own wrists were strained behind his back and a cloth muffled his wincing.
Suddenly he was brought to a halt in front of something shiny. He could see his own reflection in the metal object. The side of his face was bruised and blood stained the skin under his nose.
His vision had cleared and he could finally tell where he was. He sat hunched over a silver container along with a line of other men. Glenn, Daryl, Rick, and Bob kneeled next to him on his right and Triatan and two other men sat to his left.
Once they all sat lined up two men walked over to the blonde man at the far end of the line. Levi's eyes widened with horror as one of them rammed his metal bat into the back of his head causing him to fall unconscious over the container. The second man lifted his head up by the hair, slicing his throat open allowing his blood to gush out, pooling the bottom of the container.
Completely unbothered, the two men moved on the the next man. Doing the same cruel thing to him before standing behind Tristan who cried out in desperation. Levi struggled against the ropes behind his back as they prepared to take a swing at the young boy. Levi's screams were muffled by the cloth in his mouth.
Just as the man was about to bring his bat to the back of Tristan's head, Garett walked inside with a notebook in his hands. Barely looking at the cruel scene he simply asked. "Hey guys what were your shot counts?"
"38." One of them answered. Garett gave the two men ordered but Levi wasn't listening. He put his full focus into stealthily using the wooden piece that he had cut out from the train car earlier to cut the ropes off. He heard Bob plead something to Garett who completely ignored him before turning to Rick asking about a lack of weapons.
Levi's ropes were almost off when he froze at the sound of two gunshots outside. Garett stood up straight, looking around the room concerned. For a moment everything was silent.
Until a loud explosion rattled the building from outside.
