Weddings Beyond Boundaries

Finally, the day had arrived-the wedding day both couples had eagerly awaited. Y/N and Saanvi were being pampered and prepared by their makeup artists, each transforming into a vision of bridal elegance. The two brides had decided to wear identical wedding lehengas, complemented by matching makeup and jewellery, creating a striking harmony.

Meanwhile, Taehyung and Jungkook were also donning identical sherwanis, perfectly coordinated with their brides' outfits. The excitement and anticipation in the air were palpable as the two couples prepared to embark on their new journeys together.

Both girls looked absolutely stunning. Their bridal lehengas were masterpieces, adorned with intricate thread and stone work. The exquisite patterns of peacocks, brides, and floral motifs created a visual feast. Their jewellery was a perfect blend of tradition and elegance, with sparkling earrings, ornate necklaces, and delicate bangles. Their nude bridal makeup highlighted their natural beauty, adding a touch of ethereal glow to their faces. Their hair was tied into elegant buns, decorated with fresh flowers that matched the hues of their lehengas. Today, they looked nothing less than regal queens, ready to rule their special day.

Meanwhile, Taehyung and Jungkook were a sight to behold. Their sherwanis were not just outfits but works of art, meticulously crafted with intricate thread and stone decorations. The patterns on their attire mirrored those on their brides' lehengas, creating a harmonious blend of elegance and tradition. Their faces were accentuated with light makeup, enhancing their handsome features. Their heads were adorned with traditional seharas, and a striking red tilak graced their foreheads, symbolizing their readiness for the sacred rituals. They looked like princes straight out of a fairy tale, poised to embark on a journey with their princesses.

All the family members and relatives had gathered in the wedding hall, which was nothing short of a dream. The hall was beautifully decorated with blue, pink, and white flowers, whose sweet fragrance filled the air, creating a surreal and enchanting atmosphere. Fairy lights twinkled like stars, casting a soft glow, while oil lamps added a traditional and warm touch.

At the front was the stage, where two royal couches were set, ready to seat the couples. The stage itself was a work of art adorned with an array of flowers, colourful balloons, and framed pictures of the brides and grooms, capturing their happiest moments. A grand arch of flowers and lights framed the stage, making it look like a scene from a fairy tale.

Beautiful wedding songs played softly in the background, their melodies weaving through the air and adding to the exquisite ambience. The hall buzzed with joyful chatter as guests admired the stunning decorations and eagerly discussed the upcoming ceremony. Children ran around in excitement, their laughter blending with the soft music.

Guests were dressed in their finest attire, adding to the vibrant and festive atmosphere. Women in colourful saris and men in elegant suits moved gracefully, their jewellery sparkling under the fairy lights. The mood was festive and joyous, with everyone smiling and exchanging warm greetings.

Everyone was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the brides and grooms. The excitement was palpable, with eyes frequently turning towards the entrance, hoping to catch the first glimpse of the couples. The anticipation grew with each passing moment, making the celebration even more memorable.

Finally, the grooms made their grand entrance into the hall. On either side of them, women holding oil lamps danced gracefully, welcoming them with traditional elegance. Flowers were showered over the grooms, creating a magical path for them. At the entrance, their mothers-in-law performed a tilak ceremony and waved aarti trays to bless them. Everyone's jaws dropped at the sight of the groom, who looked so surreal and handsome that it was beyond anyone's imagination.

Seeing this, Y/N's mother quickly dabbed some kohl behind both grooms' ears and said, "Everyone's staring at my boys so intensely. I hope no one casts an evil eye on them." This comment made everyone burst into laughter.

The grooms then proceeded to the stage and took their seats, looking like the princes they were. Now, all eyes were on the entrance, eagerly waiting for the brides to make their appearance.

Meanwhile, in their room, the brides were making their final checks in the mirror. They adjusted their jewellery, smoothed their lehengas, and ensured every detail was perfect. Saanvi gave a thumbs up to her sister sitting nearby, signalling that they were ready to make their grand entrance.

A little while later, the brides' brothers and cousins arrived, holding a canopy of flowers delicately adorned with jasmine and roses. Each took a corner, lifting it high to create a beautiful, fragrant arch. The brides stood in the middle, looking ethereal beneath the floral canopy. On either side of the brides, girls held decorated plates-one with the jai mala (ceremonial garland), intricately designed with fresh flowers and another with a beautifully adorned aarti thali.

The brides began their slow, steady walk forward, entering the hall with grace and poise. Beside them, a line of women holding oil lamps performed a traditional dance, their movements synchronized and elegant. The soft glow of the lamps illuminated the path, casting a magical light. Beautiful wedding songs filled the air, their melodious tunes adding to the enchanting atmosphere.

Both brides felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, aware of all eyes on them. Their hearts raced as they moved through the hall, the anticipation building with each step. The hall, now filled with whispers of admiration, seemed to hold its breath.

As they reached the centre of the hall and lifted their eyes to the stage, Y/N's steps faltered. She stood frozen, her gaze fixed on Taehyung. Saanvi, on the other hand, was so overjoyed upon seeing Jungkook that she quickened her pace, her smile widening with each step.

Saanvi's eyes sparkled as she reached the stage, her gaze locked with Jungkook's. His face lit up with a smile that mirrored hers. The connection between them was evident, their love radiating through their expressions. When Saanvi arrived at the steps of the stage, Jungkook extended his hand, his eyes never leaving hers. Saanvi took his hand, feeling a wave of warmth and reassurance as he helped her up onto the stage. They stood together, their hands still clasped, unable to look away from each other.

Meanwhile, Y/N was still standing in the middle of the hall, her eyes locked with Taehyung's. The nervousness that had gripped her moments before vanished completely.

They were completely lost in each other. Everything around them felt surreal, like a scene from a dream. The hall, with its beautiful decorations and glowing lights, faded into the background as their emotions took centre stage. Their eyes glistened with tears, overwhelmed by the significance of the moment. Y/N took a deep breath, her heart steadying as she felt the strength of Taehyung's gaze.

Slowly, she made her way towards the stage, never breaking eye contact with him. Each step felt like a step closer to their shared future, filled with love and promise. The guests watched in silent anticipation, sensing the depth of the moment.

Just as Y/N was about to reach the stage, Taehyung stepped down, his eyes never leaving hers. Without hesitation, he gently lifted her in a bridal style, their closeness radiating warmth. The room seemed to disappear entirely, and they were completely lost in each other. The soft glow of the fairy lights and the sweet fragrance of the flowers around them enhanced the magical feel of the moment.

Taehyung gently connected his forehead to Y/N's, and tears streamed down both their cheeks, mingling with their smiles. The world around them ceased to exist as they shared this intimate connection. Their hearts beat in sync, filled with unspoken words and profound emotions.

With Y/N in his arms, Taehyung carefully climbed the stage, his steps sure and steady. He set her down gently, as if she were the most precious thing in the world, and then pulled her into a tight embrace. The warmth of his arms enveloped her, providing comfort and reassurance. He whispered in her ear, "You are looking so beautiful. Even this wedding feels completely royal, and you are my royal princess."

Y/N smiled through her tears, feeling the depth of Taehyung's love and admiration. Her heart swelled with happiness, and the nervousness she felt earlier melted away. Their embrace spoke volumes, capturing the essence of their bond and the magic of the moment.

The guests, now standing in silent admiration, felt the deep connection between Taehyung and Y/N. The air was thick with emotion, and many found themselves tearing up, moved by the powerful display of love. The moment was not just about the union of two people, but about the beginning of a new journey filled with hope, dreams, and endless love.

At that moment, Y/N's cousin stepped forward with a box of tissues and gently dabbed at Y/N's and Taehyung's tears. She said with a light-hearted smile, "You both will ruin your makeup if you keep crying like this. Just be happy that you're going to share your future together."

The room filled with soft, comforting laughter at her comment, momentarily lifting the emotional intensity of the scene. The light-hearted intervention reminded everyone of the joy and celebration of the day.

Now, it was time for the Jaimala exchange. Both couples prepared to exchange their garlands, signifying their union. Jungkook and Saanvi happily exchanged their jaimala. Taehyung, in a gesture of deep respect and love, kneeled as Y/N approached him with the jaimala. This sweet, heartfelt gesture drew an audible gasp from the audience, who were moved by the display of devotion.

As Y/N placed the jaimala around Taehyung's neck, he gently took her hand and, with a tender smile, placed a kiss on her forehead. The moment was filled with profound emotion, and the hall erupted in loud applause. Confetti cannons burst, showering the room with colourful sparkles and adding to the festive atmosphere. The sound of cheers and the sight of confetti made the hall echo with joyous celebration.

Following this, the guests gradually made their way to the stage, one by one. Each person offered their blessings to the couples, their warm wishes and kind words adding to the love and happiness of the day. Many took the opportunity to capture the moment with photographs, the stage becoming a backdrop for cherished memories.

After the Jaimala exchange, everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal at the party, savouring the delicious food and sharing in the celebration. The guests then made their way to the mandap, where the remaining wedding rituals would take place.

In the mandap, both couples sat on either side, their faces glowing with happiness. The sacred fire in the hawan kund crackled gently, its flames dancing and casting a warm glow over the proceedings. The pandit chanted mantras, his voice resonating with the spiritual significance of the moment.

After a short while, the pandit presented a chunni to the grooms. Each groom took the chunni and used it to tie the end of their bride's dupatta, symbolizing the bond they were about to form. This ritual was a deeply meaningful gesture, signifying the union of their lives.

With the chunni securely in place, it was time for the saat phere, the seven vows. The couples stood together and began to circle the sacred fire, taking seven steps around it. Each step represented a vow they made to each other, affirming their commitment and love.

After completing the saat phere, both couples returned to their seats, their faces still aglow from the sacred ritual. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the final rites of the wedding were about to begin. The pandit began to recite mantras, his voice resonating with the ancient hymns that marked the conclusion of the ceremony.

He presented each groom with a mangalsutra, a beautiful and intricate necklace adorned with gold and black beads. The mangalsutra, a symbol of marital commitment, was a vital part of the wedding ritual. With deep respect and emotion, the grooms carefully placed the mangalsutras around their brides' necks. The act was performed with grace and reverence, and the room was filled with a sense of solemnity and joy.

Following this, the pandit brought out elegantly decorated boxes containing sindoor (vermilion). The sindoor is a traditional symbol of marriage, and its application marked a significant moment in the bride's transition to her new role. To maintain the privacy and sanctity of this ritual, the women in the gathering quickly arranged a curtain of cloth around the couples, creating a sacred, intimate space.

Inside this makeshift enclosure, each groom took a small amount of sindoor and carefully applied it to his bride's forehead, completing the ritual with a steady hand and a loving gaze. The act of applying sindolr was done with great care, symbolizing the bride's new status and the groom's lifelong commitment. The moment was deeply personal and moving, with the groom's touch being both tender and meaningful.

As the sindoor was applied, the atmosphere within the curtain was filled with a profound sense of completion and peace. The ritual was performed with reverence, reflecting the deep bond and mutual respect between the couple.

With the final ritual complete, the pandit turned to the couples and offered his blessings, wishing them a life filled with love, happiness, and prosperity. His words were heartfelt, adding to the emotional weight of the moment.

He then instructed the couples to approach their elders to seek their blessings. The couples, now officially married, moved towards their family members with a sense of gratitude and humility. They bowed deeply and touched the feet of their elders, receiving their warm blessings and well-wishes. The elders offered their heartfelt congratulations, their faces beaming with pride and joy.

With the blessings of their families and the final rituals completed, the wedding ceremony came to a beautiful end. The couples now united in marriage, were ready to embark on their journey together, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends. The day was a perfect blend of tradition, emotion, and celebration, marking the start of a new chapter in their lives.

The grooms and their families were Korean and unfamiliar with Indian wedding rituals. To help them adapt and understand the customs, Y/N and Saanvi had thoughtfully provided them with videos showcasing Indian weddings and cultural practices ahead of time. This preparation allowed the Korean guests to familiarize themselves with the traditions and engage more meaningfully in the ceremony.

With the Indian wedding completed, it was time for everyone to head to Korea, where both couples had their Korean wedding ceremonies just two days later. Preparations for the Korean weddings still needed to be finalized, including shopping for clothes and making small arrangements.

After the festivities in India, everyone quickly focused on packing for the next leg of their journey. Though the Korean families had come to India well-prepared, there were still some final touches needed for the upcoming ceremonies in Korea.

Once everything was packed and ready, the group set off towards the airport, ready for their journey to Korea. The transition from one wedding to the next was a testament to the seamless blend of cultures and traditions, highlighting the global nature of their celebrations.

"In every wedding, two worlds come together, creating a new story written in the language of love."

*********************************

Uff...so I try to show some major rituals of Indian weddings. Though there are a lot of small rituals too but I don't know too well about them. Also, I hope I didn't mistake writing all these rituals.

Tell me about your opinion on it.
