Footprints in Sand

The next morning, everyone woke up to the soft light of dawn streaming through the windows. After freshening up, they gathered in the lobby for breakfast. Everyone had arrived, except for Jungkook and Saanvi, who were nowhere to be seen.

"Where are Kook and Saanvi?" RM asked, his eyes scanning the lobby with concern.

"Are they still sleeping?" Jimin chimed in, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"You guys go ahead and order the food. I'll go check on them," y/n said, standing up and making her way towards their room. The hallway was quiet, and she could hear the muffled sounds of laughter and conversation from the breakfast area behind her. As she approached their door, she wondered what might be keeping them.

Jungkook and Saanvi were peacefully asleep in each other's embrace as if the world outside didn't exist for them. The soft morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm, golden hue across the room. Saanvi was snuggled into Jungkook's chest, her head resting just below his chin.

The room was filled with quiet serenity, the only sounds being their steady breaths and the distant chirping of birds outside. Saanvi's fingers lightly clutched Jungkook's shirt, while his arm draped protectively around her.

Their serene moment was suddenly interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. The peaceful tranquillity shattered, and they both stirred, blinking against the intrusion of the outside world.

Saanvi's eyes flew wide open when she saw the time on the clock. Panic surged through her as she realized how late they were. Jungkook was still half asleep, his head buried in the pillow.

"Kook, get up and open the door," Saanvi said, nudging him with more urgency.

"Huu...oohh... okay..." Jungkook mumbled, yawning, but then promptly fell back asleep, his arm flopping back down onto the bed.

The doorbell rang again, more insistent this time. "Oh, God, Kook... wake up, we're late," Saanvi said, exasperation clear in her voice. She got out of bed, her feet hitting the cool floor as she hurried to the door.

As soon as she opened it, y/n's concerned face greeted her. "You two are still sleeping?" y/n exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief.

Saanvi, still disoriented, quickly tried to smooth her hair. "S-Sorry, we overslept. We'll be ready in 15 minutes. You guys go ahead and order breakfast," she said apologetically, glancing back at the mess of sheets and the still-snoozing Jungkook.

"Yeah, come fast," Y/n replied, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. She turned and headed back to the lobby, leaving Saanvi to scramble back inside.

Saanvi rushed to Jungkook, shaking him more vigorously this time. "Kook, seriously, get up! We're late!"

Jungkook finally opened his eyes fully, blinking at her in confusion. "What? Late for what?"

"For breakfast! Everyone's waiting," Saanvi said, already heading to the bathroom to freshen up. "We have to be downstairs in 15 minutes!"

Jungkook groaned but got up, stretching as he dragged himself out of bed. The urgency in Saanvi's voice finally kicked him into action.

After 25 minutes of rushing around, stumbling, and hurriedly getting ready, Jungkook and Saanvi finally made it to the lobby for breakfast. They arrived slightly out of breath, but relieved to see their friends waiting for them.

"Sorry for the delay!" Saanvi said, smiling apologetically.

"Finally! Now we can eat," Jimin teased.

The group ordered breakfast, and as they waited for their food, they settled into comfortable chairs and started chatting.

Conversations buzzed around the table as everyone shared their thoughts and excitement about exploring the local market. Each person had their own opinions and suggestions, debating the best stalls to visit and what local delicacies they shouldn't miss.

"We should definitely check out the seafood stalls," RM suggested.

"And I heard there's a place that sells amazing handmade crafts," added J-Hope.

Just then, Jimin noticed Saanvi and teased, "Oh my god, Saanvi, you got bitten by a giant mosquito too, just like y/n. A few days ago, y/n also got bitten by a giant mosquito." He chuckled, causing everyone to look at Saanvi's neck and see Jungkook's handiwork.

Sitting across from Saanvi, y/n caught her eye and tried to suppress her laughter, pressing her lips together and winking. Saanvi was shocked and embarrassed, realizing she had forgotten to hide the hickey marks in her rush.

She quickly tried to cover them with her hair, struggling to find words as her mind went blank. The others chuckled.

"It's okay, Saanvi. These mosquito bites happen when you're in a relationship," Jin said, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

"Yeah, yeah, that's enough. We're all adults here, so we understand. No more teasing," Jungkook interjected, trying to save Saanvi from further embarrassment.

"Yeah, that's enough," Suga added, still laughing.

At that moment, the breakfast arrived, and everyone's attention shifted to the food. The table filled with the delicious aroma of their meal, and the group eagerly dug in, the earlier teasing fading away as they enjoyed their breakfast.

After breakfast filled with laughter and teasing, they eagerly set out to explore Jeju's local market. The sun was shining brightly overhead, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets as they made their way through the lively marketplace.

Stalls adorned with colourful textiles, handmade crafts, and fresh produce greeted them at every turn. The air was alive with the aromas of sizzling street food and the sounds of vendors calling out their offerings in animated voices. Saanvi and Jungkook walked hand in hand, taking in the sights and sounds with wide-eyed wonder, while RM and Jin debated over which seafood stall had the freshest catch.

J-Hope, Suga and Jimin couldn't resist stopping at a stall showcasing traditional Korean ceramics, their eyes lighting up at the intricate designs on display. Meanwhile, y/n and Taehyung wandered off to explore a corner dedicated to local artwork, engrossed in discussions with the artists about their creative processes.

They indulged in various street foods, each stall offering a tempting array of local delicacies. Jimin, in particular, had his heart set on trying fresh seafood. His eyes lit up as they approached a stall displaying an assortment of grilled fish, scallops, and squid skewers.

"I've been craving fresh seafood since we got here," Jimin exclaimed, eagerly placing his order. The vendor expertly grilled the seafood over an open flame, infusing the air with a mouthwatering aroma of smoky flavours. Saanvi and Jungkook joined him, curious to taste the island's renowned seafood delicacies.

As they savoured each bite, the freshness and savoury richness of the seafood delighted their taste buds. Saanvi couldn't help but smile as she watched Jimin's enthusiastic reaction to every dish they sampled, while Jungkook nodded in approval, clearly enjoying the experience as well.

As the sun began its descent towards the horizon, they decided to head to the beach, which was conveniently close to their resort. They arrived to find a serene stretch of coastline, the waves gently lapping against the shore under the softening hues of the evening sky.

They wasted no time in soaking up the beach experience. Some of them playfully built sandcastles, while others simply sat back on the warm sand, enjoying the breathtaking view of the ocean. Saanvi and Jungkook found a cosy spot, sipping on refreshing coconut water as they chatted and watched the sun dip lower over the horizon.

Time seemed to slow down as they relaxed, the sound of the waves providing a soothing soundtrack to their conversations and laughter. It was a peaceful moment, a perfect culmination of their time in Jeju, filled with shared experiences and cherished memories.

As the clock neared 8 PM, reminding them of their flight back to Korea, they reluctantly gathered their belongings and bid farewell to the beach. The sky was painted in shades of orange and pink, a fitting farewell from the island they had grown to love over their short stay.

Absolutely, Jeju Island indeed became a beautiful memory for them because they experienced it together, surrounded by loved ones, sharing moments of love, laughter, and playful antics. Any place can indeed transform into a beautiful experience when we are with the people we care about, enjoying each other's company and creating lasting memories.

In the end, it's not just the stunning landscapes or exciting activities that make a place memorable-it's the connections we forge and the moments we share with those who matter most to us. Jeju Island will forever hold a special place in their hearts, not just for its beauty, but for the unforgettable experiences they created together as a group.

As they settled into their seats on the flight, everyone relaxed, feeling the weariness of the day's activities. All they wanted now was to return home and rest peacefully.

Y/n sat next to Taehyung, leaning her head on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his presence. Taehyung played a song on his phone and shared the earphones, placing one bud in her ear and the other in his own. He tilted his head slightly towards hers as they both listened to the soothing melody. Their hands found each other, fingers intertwining naturally as the song 'Travel with Me' played softly. It was an unrealised song by Taehyung. This song has a huge impact on y/n. She had always imagined travelling with him whenever she listened to it.

On the other side, Jungkook and Saanvi were seated close to each other, almost in a gentle embrace. They had removed the armrest between them, allowing for a closer connection. With eyes closed, they leaned towards each other, basking in the warmth and comfort of their embrace. The hum of the airplane and the soft background noise seemed to fade away as they savoured the peaceful moment together.

Saanvi whispered softly to Jungkook, "This all feels like a dream, a beautiful dream."

"It is real, and you are the best thing that has ever happened to me," Jungkook replied, tightening his embrace around her.

"I sometimes fear that this might just be a beautiful dream, and I'll wake up and it will all be over. I never want to lose you, Kook," Saanvi confessed, nestling closer into his embrace.

"This is reality, Saanvi, and it is beautiful. I promise to always stay by your side," Jungkook reassured her, his voice filled with sincerity and love.

Finally, after a smooth flight, they landed at Seoul's bustling airport. The group gathered their belongings and stepped outside into the cool evening air, relieved to be back in familiar surroundings.

Saanvi, y/n, and Taehyung decided to share a car ride together, catching up on their way home. Meanwhile, RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, and Suga bid farewell, each heading off in different directions towards their homes in Seoul.

Before parting, Jungkook made his way to Saanvi, a gentle smile on his face. He pulled her into a warm hug, whispering, "See you tomorrow evening."

"Yeah, and make sure to get some rest," Saanvi replied softly, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort in his embrace.

The group exchanged heartfelt goodbyes, sharing promises to meet up again soon. As they dispersed, the echoes of laughter and shared moments from their trip to Jeju lingered in their minds, each one carrying with them the cherished memories of their time together.

The next morning, everyone woke up and began their day according to their schedules. For everyone, it was a cheerful "good morning," but for Saanvi, it quickly turned into a bleak morning.

Y/N and Saanvi were still in bed, exhausted from yesterday's events. Since it was her day off, Saanvi had no urgent tasks to attend to. Just then, Saanvi's phone rang-it was her mother calling from home.

Excitedly, Saanvi picked up, eager to share details about her trip to Jeju. However, as soon as she heard her mother's voice, her excitement turned to dread, and tears welled up in her eyes, betraying the disappointment and hurt she felt.

Saanvi tried desperately to explain and plead with her mother, "Mom, please listen to me."

But her mother cut her off, her tone firm and final, "No, Saanvi, this is decided and final. Your father and I have decided this is what's best. Come home now; it's a holiday anyway. We'll discuss the rest when you're here."

Unable to hold back her anguish, Saanvi's words came out in sobs, "You never understand me! You never let me live my own life!"

With a heart heavy with frustration and sorrow, Saanvi ended the call abruptly, her room now filled with the weight of unspoken words and shattered expectations. She lay there, tears streaming down her cheeks, grappling with the harsh reality that once again, her dreams and choices were overshadowed by others' decisions.

As y/n woke up a little later and entered Saanvi's room to check if she was up, she was shocked to see Saanvi in such a state.

Hurrying over, y/n hugged Saanvi tightly, gently rubbing her back as she asked softly, "What happened, berry? Why are you crying early in the morning? Did you have a bad dream?"

Upon hearing y/n's comforting words, Saanvi burst into tears uncontrollably, her emotions overwhelming her. Her body shook with sobs as she struggled to speak, feeling a mix of sadness, frustration, and hurt from the conversation with her mother.

"Love is not about how much you say 'I love you', but how much you can prove that it's true."
