Jay guided the boy down the street, the flickering streetlights casting long shadows across the pavement. The child, whose name Jay learned was Liam, was still trembling, but he managed to walk with Jay's support. They headed towards the nearby clinic, which was known for being open late and was the closest place where they could get immediate help.

As they approached the clinic, Jay could see the lights shining through the windows. Relief washed over him, knowing that Liam would soon receive the care he needed. The boy's grip on Jay's arm was weak but persistent, a silent plea for safety and comfort.

Jay pushed open the door and led Liam inside. The waiting area was empty, save for a nurse behind the reception desk. She looked up with surprise as they entered.

"Help!" Jay called out, trying to keep his voice steady despite the urgency. "This boy needs medical attention. He's hurt."

The nurse quickly assessed the situation, her professional demeanor taking over. "Bring him over here," she said, motioning to an examination room. "I'll get Dr. Lee."

Jay helped Liam to the examination room, where the nurse began to clean and assess the boy's injuries. The child's arm was indeed injured, and there were bruises and cuts on his arms and legs. Jay stood to the side, watching as the nurse worked efficiently to stabilize Liam.

Dr. Lee, a kind-faced woman in her late forties, arrived shortly. She took over from the nurse, examining Liam with a practiced eye. Jay could see the concern in her face as she assessed the extent of the boy's injuries.

"His arm might be fractured," Dr. Lee said after a thorough examination. "We'll need to get some X-rays to confirm. I'm going to need to clean and bandage his cuts as well."

Jay nodded, relieved that Liam was in capable hands. The boy, now slightly calmer, looked up at Jay with a mix of gratitude and fear. Jay gave him a reassuring smile, trying to offer comfort.

"You're going to be okay, Liam," Jay said softly. "They're going to take good care of you."

The nurse nodded in agreement and began preparing Liam for the X-rays, while Dr. Lee continued to work on his injuries. Jay watched from the doorway, his thoughts racing. The events of the night had left him shaken, and he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the situation than met the eye.

Once Liam was settled and the initial treatment was underway, Dr. Lee approached Jay.

"Thank you for bringing him in," she said. "We'll need to keep him here for a while to make sure there are no complications. Do you know how this happened?"

Jay shook his head. "I don't know much. I found him in an alley, and he was clearly scared and hurt. There was someone else there, but they disappeared before I could get a good look."

Dr. Lee frowned. "That's concerning. It sounds like it could be a case of abuse or something more sinister. I'll make sure to report this to the authorities."

Jay nodded, feeling a knot of worry tighten in his chest. He glanced back at Liam, who was now being wheeled away for the X-rays, his small face pale and tired. Jay felt a surge of protective instinct, knowing that he wanted to ensure Liam's safety and well-being.

"Can I stay here until he's done?" Jay asked.

Dr. Park gave him a nod. "Of course. It's good for him to have someone familiar with him."

As Jay settled into a chair in the waiting area, he couldn't shake the feeling that his night was far from over. The strange events and the ominous presence he had sensed earlier still lingered in his mind. He had hoped to escape his loneliness and find some solace, but now he was tangled in something far bigger and more unsettling.

He glanced at the clock on the wall, feeling the weight of the night pressing down on him. He knew that whatever had happened tonight, it was just the beginning. And as he sat there, waiting and watching over Liam, he couldn't help but wonder what else the night might hold.

Jay remained in the waiting area, his thoughts still racing as he tried to process the chaotic events of the night. The clinic was eerily quiet, broken only by the distant murmur of medical staff and the occasional shuffle of footsteps.

The door to the clinic burst open once more, and the group of people in black suits entered with a commanding presence. The leader of the group, the tall man with the stern demeanor, led the way. His face was set in a hard line, and he exuded an air of authority that made everyone in the room pause.

Jay watched as the tall man, accompanied by the trembling old man, approached the reception desk. The old man's fear was palpable, his frail hands clutching the arm of the tall man as if it were his only lifeline.

The tall man's voice was sharp and demanding. "Where is my son? We were informed that he was brought here."

The nurse, visibly startled, gestured towards the examination room. "He's in there with Dr. Park. She's attending to his injuries."

Without acknowledging the nurse further, the tall man strode purposefully toward the examination room, the old man following close behind. Jay, driven by a mix of curiosity and concern, trailed them at a distance.

As they reached the examination room, the door swung open, and Jay glimpsed the tall man stepping inside. The room was silent for a moment, and then Jay heard Liam's distressed cries. The tall man's voice cut through the air, firm and uncompromising.

"Liam!" the tall man called out as he rushed to the boy, his expression shifting from tense to intense relief. He scooped Liam up in his arms, holding him tightly as the child sobbed into his shoulder. The tall man's grip was possessive, almost desperate.

Jay could see the stark contrast between the tall man's fierce demeanor and the old man's anxious expression. As Liam continued to cry, the tall man stood up, still holding the boy close. He turned to the old man, his face darkening with anger.

"You!" the tall man's voice thundered, causing the old man to flinch. "You're fired. Get out of my sight!"

The old man's face turned ashen, and he took a shaky step back, clearly terrified. "Please, I-I'm sorry. I was just trying to—"

"I don't want to hear your excuses!" the tall man interrupted, his voice brooking no argument. "You failed to protect him. Leave, now."

The old man looked devastated, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and resignation. Without another word, he turned and fled the clinic, his footsteps echoing in the hallway as he disappeared into the night.

Jay watched the scene unfold, his heart aching for the old man and the helplessness he felt. The tall man, now fully focused on Liam, seemed to have only one concern—his son's well-being. Yet his actions had left a trail of anguish and fear.

As the tall man comforted Liam, the boy's sobs began to quiet, though his eyes remained red and swollen. The tall man's expression softened slightly as he held his son close, but the harshness in his voice earlier had left a heavy atmosphere hanging over the room.

Dr. Lee, who had been observing from the doorway, stepped forward with a look of concern. "I understand that you're upset, but we need to ensure that Liam receives the proper care and support."

The tall man's gaze flicked to Dr. Lee, his expression still stern but slightly more composed. "I appreciate your help. I just want my son to be safe."

Jay, still standing in the doorway, felt a wave of conflicting emotions. He had seen the old man's fear, and now he was witnessing the intense concern of a father. It was clear that Liam was caught in a complex web of emotions and relationships.

But the doctor was the bold one "Uhhh...also sir..."

"If I pay you more than needed will you shut your mouth about all this?" Answered the man as he was already aware what was the doctor going to bring up.

"But..the kid he is"

"I asked you a question" The man's voice raised and the poor girl did not know what to say. She had no chance left but to agree with the man. The man sighed, took out five million dollars ( at which Jay and the girl widener their eyes widely in shock ) and threw down, grabbed his son and slowly started to walk away.

As he held the child, Liam looked at Jay over the man's shoulder and waved him goodbye. Jay could not resist not to wave him back with a little nervous smile. He did not what was the man afraid of but he hadn't to care. He saved the child and that was all needed. No need for the more drama, Jay already has a lot.
