Whispers flew across Chi-Sun's head as little shots of fire as she hurried after Azraels long strides through the white clouds once they had entered the gateway to heaven. Knowing very well that all the other angels were whispering about her made her look over her shoulder several times, but what it also did to her was make her more confident.
Let them talk.
"So. . . Me and my bros are basically the ones that rules the show, you know the other arch angels. People do as we tell them to do, but it's basic rules so there's no problems whatsoever. This right here is the main-hall, where all important meetings, statements, challenges and such take place. Whatever you do, don't mess with one of us archangels, cause that ain't pretty. And trust me, I'm the nice one of us." Azrael talks fast as he moves through the huge area, Chi-Sun's shorter legs trying to keep up with his pace. And the sudden wings now planted onto her back isn't making it any easier.
"Azrael— wait up!" She tries to call him, but he continues talking and gushing over his own voice, while Chi-Sun lets out a sigh and plops down on the staircase in the hall. Slumping her shoulders she looks down at herself, watching her white gown flow beautifully down her body, the special LCS engraved into the white fabric with golden thread at the bottom of the dress.
Putting her head in her hands she swallows harshly and close her eyes for a second to breathe out.
"Are you okay?"
Chi-Sun lift her head slowly at the feminine voice talking, her eyes setting on a tall girl with black, wavy hair falling to her collarbones, freckles spread across her cheeks and a pair of warm, chocolate brown eyes. Her dark brows are furrowed slightly and a concerned look is painted on her pretty features.
"Your wings are slumping alongside with you. That's never a good sign. . ." She giggles and sit down next to her, gently brushing the smooth feathers on her back.
The corners of Chi-Sun's mouth lifts slowly, the feeling of genuine concern warming her heart at this moment.
"Thank you — I'm Chi-Sun. But you can call me Chi."
"Chi-Sun? Oh, so you're the newbie? Then I totally understand why you're slumping like that. First day in heaven is hell, funny enough." She says, bumping her shoulder against Chi's before reaching her hand out to her, "I'm Yung Darcie."
Chi grabs her hand and bow to her, gratefulness dancing in her honey eyes.
"A pleasure to meet you."
"You too. So. . . First things first: How did you end here? How did you die?" Darcie asks casually, tilting her head to the side curiously as she watches the blood from Chi's face disappear at the sudden question.
"Uhm— I. . . I don't know actually."
"What? How can't you know? Everyone knows how they—"
"Chi-Chi! There you are!" Azrael's loud voice booms through the crowded room, making everyone turn their gazes to the two angels sitting on the staircase, the sudden silence making Chi's cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
"Azrael, how about you keep track on the new angels and not lose them halfway through the tour?" Darcie cheekily asks before sending a wink to the archangel, making him roll his eyes playfully at her.
"You know I'm the best tour-guide, right?" Azrael smirks as he stands in front of us, his arms crossed over his bulky chest.
Darcie raise her eyebrows and shrug. "Right, if you say so. Why don't I take it from here? You need to wash your hair it looks like it's a little. . . greasy."
Azrael widens his eyes in horror at the comment and takes ahold of his bottom lip, before nodding fast at Darcies request. "Excellent idea. See you later, Chi-Chi, okay?"
Darcie then giggles and stands up, hooking her arm under Chi's, as they move their way down the staircase once again, turning down one of the many hall-ways that leads further into heaven.
"Okay, so heaven has the archangels that I'm sure Azrael told you about, since it evolves around himself — after them, the other angels slowly comes in line. The eldest are the ones everyone looks up to since they've helped and saved the most humans in their time as an angel. Us young angels often attend classes with the elder ones, to learn what it takes to get such huge wings like them. That's the thing," Darcie greets politely to a passing male, "the bigger the wings you have, the more power you have here. You saw Azraels wings, right?"
Chi nods and continues to listen intensely.
"The archangels' wings are the biggest in heaven. Us normal angels won't ever have wings that size, but our wings slowly grows as we learn day by day and help the humans on earth. Slowly we gain powers as time passes and as we pass the missions we're given."
Chi lifts her brows in surprise. "Do you have powers?"
Darcie smirks at her newfound friend and cocks and eyebrow up daringly as she stares ahead in the hallway, her gaze falling upon a painting of a flock of pigeons.
She makes a sharp tilt to the left with her head and before Chi gets what's going on, pigeons are flying through the small hallway, their eager wings flying towards the light leading outside, out in the open. Darcie smiles wide as she watches Chi's astonishment — not noticing how a male figure is about to turn around the corner, ready to snap his finger as he sees what's going on.
"Using your powers out of worktime again, Darcie?"
The pigeon that was just about to sit on Chi's arm suddenly vanishes into the thin air, making her turn around in surprise at the deep voice speaking to Darcie all of a sudden.
Without thinking about it, she lets out a gasp as she sees the dark male move his way around the corner, his smooth strides almost intimidating. His slender, slim body is neatly built, dressed in all black from head to toe.
His hair is a striking, deep coral-blue color, the luscious locks falling into his eyes softly. His dark eyes are pierced to Darcie, while he swipes his tongue across his plump, pink lips.
But the most surprising feature about him is the pair of raven-black wings on his back, draping down all the way to the ground. He's captivating somehow, the pure contrast to all the white angels moving around the hallways. He's. . . different.
"Learned from the best himself, Jimin. I'm just showing a new angel around. This is Chi. Chi, this is Jimin." Darcie speaks calmly, pointing from one to the other.
Chi lifts her gaze and meets Jimin's for the first time, his stare slightly menacing to her. He then breaks out into a small smile, but not too much — it's clear that he's apprehensive towards her.
That's until he leans closer to her, moving towards the side of her face, his strong cologne filling up her nostrils, almost making her dizzy. He then speaks close to her ear, his voice almost just a rasp.
"Welcome Chi. Good luck up here."
Retrieving himself he blinks at the two girls before smoothly moving past them, leaving Chi in some kind of trance, while Darcie just frowns and shakes her head at him.
"Don't mind him. That's just Jimin." She giggles lowly.
"He was something else. . . He had black—"
"Black wings? Yeah. . . He's not the only one you'll see. There are six other black angels here. They usually stay together, but Jimin is different. He can be around other people by himself, but he's still quite reserved. I've spent a lot of time with him actually, he's a good guy when you get to know him."
Chi shakes her head to get rid of the image inside of her head of Jimin leaning close to her ear.
"But why are they black? It doesn't make any sense?"
The two girls move out of the hallways and into a big dining hall, where circled tables are splayed around in the grand room, golden ceiling filled with painting done by hand, white drapes falling from the sides of the room.
8 big chandeliers is illuminating the white room even more, making the room have a golden glow to it.
Moving past angels on their way, Darcie continues to elaborate.
"You're right. It doesn't make sense. At least it shouldn't. But the 7 black angels all used to be normal angels, just like you and me. That's until each of them fell from heaven one day, locked out of here for no reason at all. The weird thing is. . . an angel doesn't just fall from heaven. It's almost impossible. Unless you do it on purpose. Or. . . if you're pushed out of heaven. Rumor has it that the archangels pushed out the 7 angels to see if they could use them as their black angels. The black angels has the most relentless missions out of all angels."
Chi glances around the dining hall, her eyes falling on every single angle in the room. "What kind of missions?"
"They choose who lives and who dies. They choose how people's lives end. Their human-soul was basically taken from them when they returned as black angels."
Biting down on her bottom lip, Chi swallows harshly at the information about the 7 black angels.
"Look for yourself, Chi. There they are. . ." Darcie elbows Chi in the side and points her head to the right.
Turning her head in the given direction, Chi heaves in a breath as her eyes lands on a round table occupied by 7 deadly gorgeous, raven-black angels.
