it was 20:00 and the party had just started, a fair few guests were already in the busy nightclub but chloe was still waiting on loads more. she barely had to wait a minute to see the girl she had been waiting to see walk through the door. both girls squeal at the sight of one another, running for a tight hug, their brunette and blonde hair contrasted across each others backs perfectly. "happy birthday my love!" the blonde in the black mini dress shouts.

"thank you bri!" the brunette in the white satin dress shouts back laughing. when you looked at them, they just went together so well and chloe had always admired sabrina for making that possible.

"hey cora!" sabrina smiles, leaning round chloe to give the girl a hug. the two were also good friends which is why chloe was left confused seeing how tense there embrace had been. the three girls quickly broke into a conversation of there own as more and more guests flooded in.

during a random conversation with her girls, chloe felt someone grab her neck lightly from behind. although it was gentle, meaning whoever it was had no intentions of hurting her, she was still in shock, spinning around to see lando stood there already laughing. she lightly slapped his arm and he immediately pointed at someone, chloe looked up to see where the finger had been pointed and at the end of the line she saw george and alex stood together, laughing at landos fail. "they told me to."

"it's okay, i don't care," the girl laughed it off before hugging the curly haired boy, "glad you could make it."

"yeah i would be too if i was you." he replied smirking, "busy schedule."

"the doors there, leave." chloe replied sassily, pointing at the door over his shoulder. he rolled his eyes at her before walking off, probably going to find the other two guys he was friends with.

that's how the rest of the hour went, inviting people in, having a laugh and a nice catch up, then that being the last time you see them that night.

she looks down, mainly to check the time, her phone read 23:41. "babe, he's not coming." cora told the girl, her voice soft, she knew this was hurting her friend but they couldn't do anything about it now.

"yeah, i know." she decided to come to terms at the idea her own boyfriend letting her down on her birthday, "i guess i just had a small bit of hope left." her boyfriend that had promised to always be there, always love her and always protect her, she had every right to believe he might come. yet here she was sitting down at a bar in a random nightclub in london with only her one friend in sight that she recognised.

"can we go toilets please? i'm desperate for a piss." cora asked, bouncing a little as she spoke. a small laugh fell from chloe's lips, she had always known cora to act like a child but it always managed to make her smile.

whilst waiting in the bathrooms, she unlocked her phone and opened instagram. the biggest regret of the night. her heart shattered seeing the post at the top of her feed. regardless, she opened the comments, kindly leaving one of her own.

behind her the stalls door flys open, cora makes jazz hands at her best friend through the mirror in front of her, a smile immediately makes its way onto chloe's face. just the soft laughter falling from her friends lips, calmed the nerves she felt. "wanna get hammered?" chloe asks, randomly as cora let's the sink water rinse her skin.

her best friend raises an eyebrow in suspicion, "you don't like getting overly drunk on your birthdays though? unless somethings wrong."

"nothings wrong." chloe replied, "just think we might as well spice things up."

although cora recognised her friends strange behaviour, she agreed nonetheless, passing the odd tension off as the stress of chloe's new album release. the girls took hold of one another's hands, walking out the bathroom together and within an instance the music became more than just an echoed boom. they made there way straight over to the bar, wasting no time at all, "can we get two tequilas please?" chloe asked the bartender politely, though her friends head snapped towards, mouthing the words how drunk are you aiming to get but the brunette just shrugged it off.

the two girls sat down together right at the bar, ready to order another round whenever. chloe took the drinks off the man, handing one over to cora who thanked them both.

as the rounds kept coming both girls became less aware of there surroundings, and more focused on how quickly they could get their drink down them, despite the burn at the back of their throats. although cora joined in with chloe, she took things slower, that being said she still a few drinks beside her that hadn't been touched, she did intend to finish them though. cora had also ordered them food, helping to soak the liquid up so they didn't get to drink but instead this time it was chloe who hadn't touched it.

"let me have your drinks," chloe shouted over the music, her words slurred. her hands reached over grabbing one before cora stopped her getting another.

"no, absolutely not," she tells chloe, her response is just to pout her lips at her, "your smashed, you hate being drunk so just stop."

"why are you being so boring?"

cora rolled her eyes, "i'd rather you call me boring when you're drunk, then say you hate me when you're hungover." her friends lip slightly turned up at how well she knew her.

chloe let out a small laugh before turning round to the bartender, her words came out in a mumble but the man does it for his job so understanding her was easy, "another round please."

"no cancel that, we're going," cora stands up, staggering slightly but holding onto her friend, who stayed sat, for balance. "come on, let's go find someone."

she helped chloe up, they both wandered into the crowd, or it would probably be more referred to as stumbling. the taller of the two friends, cora, was looking all over for someone they recognised, she couldn't see anyone though. that was before chloe stopped in her tracks, the panic settling over her as she felt a hand sliding across her waist in attempt to stop her and that they did, cora spun around at the sudden halt of her best friend, ready to deck someone at any second.

"fucking hell, me and george have been looking everywhere for you two." the thai man sighed, dropping his hand off of her waist.

she looked down to where his hand previously was, secretly wishing that he hadn't let go. she cursed her thoughts, remember her boyfriend was at home, hopefully. "can you hold her until we find george please, i can barely stand myself yet alone hold her up too."

"oh um," he stuttered, thinking about her boyfriend, he also felt rude saying no but when he saw chloe almost fall out of her friends grasp, "okay yeah, right is this okay?"

chloe nodded, feeling his arm lightly go round her torso, as she put her arm carelessly across his waist, leaning her head onto the top half of his arm, before scolding his tenseness, "alex, calm down, i don't bite."

"although i can hardly understand your gibberish," he teased before he went a little more serious, "you have a boyfriend and i don't think he'd be too pleased right now."

"it's fine, if i go home tonight i'll just see him fucking another girl, on our bed," she says, no emotion behind her words, almost as if it's nothing new, she's used to it, "at least your doing a good deed, so don't worry."

cora's eyes burn through the girls skin, registering the new information, she knew chloe had always joked about it but she always promised he'd never actually cheat, but this time felt completely different. it didn't feel like a joke.

alex, on the other hand looked down at the brunette beside him, feeling sorry that the girl felt like that's something she has to accept to be in the relationship she's in. he felt himself become slightly more protective of the girl beside him, now looking around more then he was before, in search for george.

it wasn't long before they finally saw eachother again, george pushing his way through the mass of dancing bodies in the way. he rolled his eyes seeing his sister holding onto alex.

he pulls a face before putting his fingers up and making quotation marks, mocking what she had said earlier on, "i won't drink too much, i want this to be a night to remember, number one rule 'don't get drunk'", he puts the quotation marks down and now just carry's in his rant, "i mean is she being for real? i haven't seen her this drunk in a good couple years, what a dumbass."

his best friend and her best friend both stood waiting for him to finish and when he finally did, chloe was the first to talk, "take me home." she paused, even though the four of them had already started leaving, "your home, george, not mine."

so that's what the four of them did, alex already having planned to stay there after and chloe being inseparable from cora meant, they'd all be there.

this wasn't the first time though, so the sleeping plan was arranged, alex in a spare room, george on the sofa and chloe sharing the master bed with cora. not that this made any sense but it's how it went.
