Alaskas feet hit the hospital floors fast, so fast she forgot how to breath. She ran into multiple people in the process, shoving past them and yelling an apology over her shoulder. Her hair flew behind her as she sprinted, adrenaline pumping through her veins. A smile was across her face, eyes watery as she pushed her hand on a empty gurney that was in the middle of the hall, flipping over it as nurses began to yell at her.
Alaska hurried around the hospital door, pausing as her face lit up.
Miguel was awake.
"A-" he attempted to say, stopping himself as his eyes shut slightly. He had a brace around his whole body still, looking just as weak as he did when he was in his coma. But he was awake, he was alive, that's all she cared about.
"Hey, superstar." she teased, whipping her face, "I'm only crying because i'm upset you're awake, I was planning on taking your place in the family."
Carmen and Yaya smiled as they held each other. Miguel cracked a grin as Alaska sat next to him, his hand barely moving but enough for her to grab it, "Alaska."
"You look horribly, by the way." Alaska spoke softly with a grin before a single tear left her eye, "I love you so much."
"I love you too." Miguel said back, a pained moan leaving his lips as his hand tightened around her hand, "You can-"
Alaska looked to Carmen who nodded her head, "You can get up there with him, just be easy."
Alaska nodded, slowly standing up and sitting on the bed. Miguel had enough room next to him for her to lay next to him, a gently grin on her lips as she held his hand, "Does it hurt?"
"Only a little." he told her, eyes shutting, "Your ring."
Alaska frowned her eyebrows as she felt the cold hit her hand, he passed her badger ring back into her hand. Alaska put it back in his palm, "You keep it for now."
Miguel cracked a grin as his eyes fluttered open a moment before closing again, "Remember when you threw it at me?"
"On your first day, I remember." Alaska said with a laugh, "Worst day of my life."
"Mine too." Miguel joked back with a grin, "I'm glad you're here."
"I wouldn't leave you here alone, hospitals are haunted." she said back with a knowing look, "How do I know you're not some old man who died from cancer haunting my friends body? You could be a complete pedophile and just trying to convince me you're Miguel."
"Would a random old pedophile know that you only like your wings if they're dipped in guac?" Miguel asked, a soft smile on his lips as he listened to Alaska's laugh, "Thats what I thought."
Alaska wrapped her arm around him and shut her eyes, realizing right now would be the first time in weeks she'd be able to sleep without nightmares or worry that Miguel wasn't going to make it.
Alaska held her phone in her hand as she walked out of the hospital, walking into the parking garage. Her eyes found the familiar car, the LaRusso license plate catching her eye. Johnny and Daniel were arguing as they leaned on the hood, bickering back and forth. They hadn't even seen Alaska sprinting their way.
"Oh!" Johnny hollered out as he felt two arms wrap around his middle forcefully, "What is this?"
"That's a teenage girl who missed you, a lunatic." Daniel answered with a nod. Johnny rubbed Alaska's back with a faint grin.
"Hey Antarctica." he grinned before she pulled back and smacking him across the face, "Ow! What's your problem?"
"You're my problem! Where did you go? I called you so many times! I thought you were buried alive somewhere or being eating by sharks." Alaska scolded him with a huff, her arms crossing as she stared up at the blonde man, "You deserve more then that slap."
"I second that." Daniel agreed with a nod.
"I threw my phone in the ocean." he said to her with a crazy look, "And your mom wouldn't let me in the house."
"God, she's so mad at me." Alaska huffed with a faint sigh, "Like, barely speaking to me mad. I don't care though, i'm mad at her too."
"We know, she's on her way here." Daniel said as Alaska looked at him in disbelief, "Shes gonna help us go find Robby."
"Robby?" Alaska asked quickly with a wide eyed expression, "Do you know where he is?"
"We have a lead." Daniel answered her as Alaska sighed in relief.
"I'm coming with you." Alaska confirmed.
"No, you are not." Johnny said with a stern expression, "Bringing the enemy will only make him run."
"The enemy? What are you on?" Alaska asked in disbelief as he opened his mouth before she cut in again, "Don't answer that, I don't want to know. Robby and I aren't enemies anymore, we're friends. He'll listen to me more then he will either of you fools, let me come."
"Absolutely not, I can not handle driving with you again." Daniel shook his head as Alaska gave him a look of disbelief, "Shouldn't you be in school?"
"Hawks getting all my work for me, i'm a fast learner." she confirmed as she watched Johnny look away at the sound of his name, "Did you see the dojo?"
"Are you.." he trailed off.
"Hell to the f-ing no." Alaska spoke with a look of disbelief, "I threw my gi at Kreese and told him to go to hell. I kept my black belt though, just incase I need to tie someone up."
"Why would you ever need to tie anyone up?" Daniel asked her in disbelief.
"You never know. Don't hate the player, hate the game." she confirmed with a snap of her fingers his way. Gina pulled up in her car, turning it off and exiting the drivers seat, "How do the three of you know each other exactly?"
"High school friends." Johnny nodded his head.
"More like high school enemies, I hated you." Gina confirmed as she walked toward the three, her expensive heels hitting the ground and echoing off the walls, "I kicked your ass too."
"Yeah, right." Johnny spoke in disbelief.
"No, she did." Daniel said as Alaska snorted.
"Alaska, go back inside, we'll call you if we find anything." Gina spoke quickly, opening the car door before realizing Alaska wasn't moving, "Did you hear me wrong?"
"I want to come." Alaska said with a huff, "Robby's my friend and I'm worried about him, no matter how angry I am."
"He didn't do it on purpose, I believe that." Daniel tried to reason as Alaska shrugged her shoulders his way.
"Maybe not, no one actually knows aside from him. Either way, I care about him and the three of you are the last people he's going to talk to. We have a connection!" Alaska said with a cross of her arms and a huff toward the trio.
"A connection? What connection?" Johnny questioned her.
"He listens to me, we even each other out, okay? A connection! I don't know!" Alaska shouted at him before groaning, "You have to at least let me try."
"I'll make a deal with you." Gina spoke as she stared at her daughter, "I'll call you as soon as we find him, you have to trust us on this one. The police are looking for him, it's risky for me to even be near the police."
"Because of dad?" Alaska asked as Gina gave a nod, "Just tell Robby.... tell him i'm sorry."
Gina hugged Alaska suddenly, taking her off guard, "I never meant to lie to you."
"Then why did you, mom?" Alaska asked her in disbelief, the most they've talked about on the topic, "I wouldn't have cared if you were talking to him, I just wished you'd told me and dad."
"It's complicated, can I explain when I get back?" Gina asked as Alaska sighed but nodded her head, "I love you, Alaska."
"I love you too." she said back, watching as her mom got into the back of Daniels car. Alaska looked to the LaRusso man, "Sam... is she-"
"She's okay, shaken up, but okay." He confirmed as Alaska felt guilt jump through her veins, "She could probably use someone like you right now."
"We don't mix well together." Alaska confirmed in a gentle voice, her words echoing in the garage.
Daniel glanced at Johnny in the car with a knowing look, "Neither do we."
Zane had gotten back early then intended. His fist was bloody from the punch he'd had to throw at a money less druggie. As he cleaned it in the bathroom, he heard faint sobs from down the hall. As they heard again, he turned the fossett off and headed down the hallway. The sobs where coming from within Alaska's room, his good hand opening the door slowly, "Darling?"
Alaska looked at her father quickly as she rubbed her face, "Why are you back already?"
"What happened? Was it Miguel?" Zane asked worried as he walked into the room and took a seat next to her on the completely wrecked bed. With Eli stayed each night with her, neither of them bothered to make the bed in the mornings.
"No, Miguel is okay." Alaska said as she whipped her face as her lip quivered, "They found Robby, mom just called."
"Is he okay?" Zane asked quickly as Alaska sniffled and looked down as more salty tears hit her legs.
"He's going to jail." Alaska said as her knees came to her chest, "I'm so worried about him, dad. I know he didn't mean to."
Zane grabbed Alaska's hand, "I know."
"I'm so mad at him for being so careless, but I know Robby, he wouldn't have done it on purpose." Alaska said as a sob left her lips, "I'm mad but I still care, he's still my friend and now he's going to jail! I don't want anything bad to happen to him there!"
Zane pulled Alaska into a hug as she sobbed, "I'll make some calls, i'll see what I can do."
"I just want him to be okay." Alaska cried as she wrapped her arms around her dad, "I'm so worried about him."
"Shh, it's going to be okay. Why don't you go visit him? He could use it right now." Zane said as he pulled back to wipe Alaska's tears, "Don't you want to see him?"
"I don't know." Alaska said honestly, "I do but I don't."
"I know the feeling." Zane nodded knowingly, "Its up to you, but I know I would want to see you if I was him."
