But the day that her mother's disgraced ex-husband Jackson Kenner, along with his last two loyal wolves and an oportunist teenage witch, committed the ultimate act of treason against the city of New Orleans by capturing and intending to sacrifice Hope and her younger brother Archer as supposed repayment for the sins of the Mikaelson family, was the day that the entire supernatural world changed forever.

The moment the tribrid was born was when the last glimmer of the sweet innocent girl she once had been was forever lost to the darkness.

THREE YEARS LATER, two after Archer Mikaelson had also turned, her parents had reached the boiling point of their suspicion with the Salvatore Boarding School For the Young & Gifted - which had always had a long-standing rivalry with the Mikaelson Academy For the Superior - and the pair decided to employ their children undercover in order to discover the dark secrets lurking behind the school's pristine gates.

Leaving their gang, the Moonlight Hounds, in the charge of their youngest uncle Henrik Mikaelson, the pair of young tribrids take on the false identities of Hope and Archer Deveraux, claiming to be the twin children of the deceased French Quarter witch Sophie Deveraux and an unknown human, and embark on a journey to Mystic Falls, where they come face to face with the Saltzman twins, who are less than thrilled about the suspicous arrival of the two mysterious strangers. Or at least at first.
