chapter thirty one

fantastic four

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  ย  JORDANNA JONES WAS an enigma. At least that's what Klaus said about her anyway. He always found it hard to understand her; but yet, on the other hand, it was as though he was the person who understood her the most in the world.

Aside from Caroline, of course, ( she'd throw a fit if she wasn't at least mentioned once ).

ย  ย  ย  She comforted him through his dark times, she was there for him after the situation with his father. But, she never let him comfort her. She cried in the depths of the darkness, letting it consume her alone.

ย  ย  ย  He didn't fail to notice how the day after her mother's death anniversary she acted as if everything was right with the world. As if the hole in her heart from another year of her mother's absence didn't hurt her.

She merely plastered a large smile on her glossy lips as she laughed when Kol muttered profanities under his breath, shooting the occasional glare or large, fake smile at his brothers; which mirrored Jordanna's very own strained smile.

ย  ย  ย  Her eyes flitted around the room mischievously, an amused glint danced in her eyes as she looked between Klaus, Elijah, Kol and Finn. The youngest and the eldest Mikaelson brothers sat still, wrists still bound in the 'Magical Handcuffs', idly watching as compelled servants, dressed in suits, placed platters of food down in-front of the five.

ย  ย  ย  A waiter placed down a martini in-front of the vampire, earning looks from those around her while she merely winked at the server, lifting her glass to her lips she muttered a small, "Thanks, sweetheart."

ย  ย  ย  Kol snorted in amusement whilst Elijah sighed, rubbing a hand across his forehead. Finn grumbled under his breath, Klaus however, pursed his lips with an eyeroll. "Bit early, isn't it?" He asked.

ย  ย  ย ย  She shrugged lightly, plucking the cocktail stick that two olives sat on, "It's 5 O'clock somewhere," she told him, her lip tugged upwards before she ate the olives.

ย  ย  ย  "Right. Of course," he muttered with a sigh, patting her thigh with his hand before he turned to the two estranged brothers, plastering a large, cunning smile on his lips. Though unlike the rest of the people sat at the table, his smile wasn't forced. "Today, a new future awaits. Forget your animosity toward Elijah and myself. Instead, join us against she who truly deserves your ire; our mother."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna rose her brows as she placed her glass of martini down onto the table, her attention turned to the two brothers who sat opposite her, unamused looks on their faces.

ย  ย  ย  At the lack of a response, Klaus momentarily rolled his eyes, shooting Jordanna a deadpanned look before he turned back to his brothers, large smile finding its way back onto his face, "Do this, and we will welcome you with open arms."

ย  ย  ย  "Well-" Kol started as he reached out for a beignet, hands still cuffed together, only for Elijah to pull the plate out of his reach. Kol rolled his eyes at the pettiness, releasing an annoyed sigh as he caught Jordanna's eye, the vampire grabbed a beignet and teasingly waved it around before she bit into it.

ย  ย  ย  "But, if you continue to oppose us, a denial of pastries will be the least of your concerns," Klaus spoke, narrowing his eyes at both brothers.

ย  ย  ย  Kol sighed, slumping back in his chair whilst Finn said nothing, like he had the entirety of the morning they had spent sat down. The youngest Mikaelson brother narrowed his eyes down at Jordanna's left hand, her pointer finger trailed off to the left in a discreet movement; not even a second later a beignet landed on his plate.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus sighed in annoyance and shot her a look as Kol took the pastry in his hand before one of his brothers could take it away. "What?" Jordanna shrugged, brining her glass back up to her lips. "My finger slipped," she told him, muttering against the rim.

ย  ย ย  Kol sent a wink in her direction eliciting in an eyeroll from Klaus. "If all you wanted was my allegiance against mother dearest, you should have said so! Save me a night shackled to the wall," Kol retorted sarcastically.

ย  ย  ย  Elijah leant forward against the table, from his place beside Jordanna, a false smile pulled at his lips as his eyes flickered between his two brothers whom sat opposite him, "Yes, this was Niklaus. My recommendation was to remove your limbs, one by one, until you comply. Jordanna suggested that we throw a bucket of water on you and see if you melt . . . of course, she said if that wasn't to work we could always gouge out your eyeballs and send them to mother to hang on her Christmas tree."

ย  ย  ย  Kol gasped, feigning offence as he held a shackled hand up to his heart, "You would do that to me, Anna? And you call yourself my best friend."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna snorted. "Don't worry, Kol, I told them they weren't allowed to touch you. Only that they could shave your hair off and make your mother a hat," she smirked, pushing away her empty martini glass before pulling a champagne flute to her.

ย  ย ย  "You wouldn't," Kol narrowed his eyes.

ย  ย  ย  She shook her head, filling the glass up. "Oh, but I would. Always wondered what you'd look like bald," she told him with a playful grin.

ย  ย  ย  "Evil," he mouthed over to her.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus let out a chuckle as he moved to stand to his feet, finding his place behind his brothers, "We've . . . we've no desire to torture you," he said, bringing the topic at hand back up as he squeezed their shoulders. "Provided you vow to stand beside us!"

ย  ย  ย  Finn shrugged out of Klaus' grip, a scowl sitting on his face. "Brothers . . . does that word even apply to us? After all these centuries of betrayal?" His eyes found Klaus' as he glanced backwards to take a look at him. "And, has loyalty to you ever rewarded? If so, tell me, Niklaus, where is our sister, Rebekah?"

ย  ย  ย  Elijah sent a glare to the eldest brother as Klaus turned away, Jordanna's eyes on his back. She turned her head, finding Kol with narrowed, curious eyes on her at the change in her posture at the mere mention of his sister.

ย  ย  ย  "She was blindly loyal to you for a thousand years, and now? Nowhere to be found," a smirk pulled at Finn's lips as he attempted to provoke his younger brother, "Where did our sister go? And, how did she escape your vile machinations?"

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna shifted in her seat, moving one leg over the other as she brought the, now full, champagne glass to her lips. Taking a sip her face remained nonchalant. After all, she was one helluva' actress. Klaus, however, wasn't as convincing as he turned back to face the table, a laugh escaped his lips.

ย  ย  ย  He huffed. "You think me vile? What, then, do you make of the one who cursed us?"

ย  ย  ย  Finn gritted his teeth in frustration as he opened his mouth to speak just as Kol's foot nudged Jordanna's, the Jones narrowed her eyes at him as he rose a brow.

ย  ย  ย  "She was trying to make you mortal again!" Finn rose his voice, causing Elijah to grab a knife from the table, clearly as suspicious and annoyed by Finn's words as Jordanna was as he noticed the low hanging chandelier that hung over Finn's head swung ever so slightly.

ย  ย ย  "And all of you refused her," Finn continued, shooting them all looks, including Jordanna. "It only proves how far you've fallen. But, I expect Rebekah will have a different response to her proposal. See, unlike the two of you, she always did cling to her humanity."

ย  ย  ย ย  Jordanna mindlessly swirled the champagne glass as she listened to Finn's words. She knew what he was talking about; how Rebekah had always wanted a child. And her mother could now give her that.

ย  ย  ย  "Do not let him goad you, Elijah. Neither he, nor Esther, will find Rebekah unless she wants to be found," Klaus told his brother reassuringly before his gaze drifted to Finn. "And she does not," he confirmed tightly.

ย  ย ย  "Esther is quite determined," Finn remarked with a shrug. "She's been searching for Rebekah since the day she returned. I imagine it's only a matter of time."

ย  ย  ย  Klaus' skin paled slightly as Jordanna tipped her head back, letting the bitter drink slide down her throat before she looked back over, meeting Kol's eyes once again as he narrowed them down at her. She merely looked away, watching as Elijah finally lost his temper and grabbed Finn by the collar, he slammed his head down onto the table before he fed on him.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  ย  It was a little while later and Jordanna had dragged Kol to a spare room in the Compound whilst Klaus spoke to Finn and Elijah went off to do God-knows what.

ย  ย ย  So Jordanna took it upon herself to drag the youngest Mikaelson brother to a room, throw him down onto an armchair and pull up a spare chair in front of him โ€” having a 'catch up'.

ย  ย  ย  Though it was only her and Kol, she still kept the shackles onโ€”1. Klaus would go ballistic if she removed them, and 2. Kol would abracadabra his ass outta' there the second she took them off, and that'd be rude seeing as she only wanted a fucking catch up.

ย  ย  ย  So, the shackles stayed on.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna put a cigarette between her lips as she watched Kol down the bottle of water she had gotten him from the fridge, he threw it aside carelessly with a grin once done, eliciting in an annoyed glare from the Jones.

ย  ย  ย  Her hand shot out, lifting the bottle from the floor and disregarding it on the sideโ€”letting it sit atop a table. "Give 'us one here," Kol called out, accent stronger in his new body, his finger thrusted out, gesturing to the packet of cigarettes by her side.

ย  ย  ย  "Why?" She rose a suspicious brow. If he threw them away or broke them she'd go mental . . .

ย  ย  ย ย  "Just give 'us one here, Anna," he rolled his eyes, the vampire hesitantly threw the packet over with sceptical eyes, the witch caught it in his grasp, easily. He pulled one out and placed it between his lips.

ย  ย  ย ย  "You don't smoke," Jordanna stated with furrowed brows as she took a drag of her own.

ย  ย  ย ย  "Anymore," he corrected. "I 'aven't had one of these since the seventeen hundreds," he told her with a small grin.

ย  ย  ย  "O-kay then," she muttered in surprise before a sly smile pulled at her lips. "So, how's you and Davina? I hope you haven't broken the pure heart that belongs to that sweet girl, Kol."

ย  ย  ย  Kol tutted, looking away, "Nothing's going on between me and Davina for her to be heart broken."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna nodded, unconvinced. "Yeah, okay. I believe you." He met her eyes, his own narrowed, she scoffed. "I lied, I don't believe you. You better not be fucking around with her Kol."

ย  ย  ย  "I'm not," he sighed, looking away once again, much to Jordanna's dismay.

ย  ย  ย  "Don't be an annoying little ass, look at me when I'm talking to you," she shot her leg out, gently kicking him in the shin.

ย  ย  ย  "I can't look at you darling, I'll get lost in your eyes," he quipped, a grin on his pearly whites.

"So damn annoying," she muttered a with an eye roll as she flicked the end of her cigarette in the ashtray. Jordanna stared at him for a moment, her eyes narrowed in thought before she spoke up with a smug smile, "Well fuck-me-sideways, and call me Elena Gilbert. Kol Mikaelson actually likes someone," her smile grew teasing, "Awe, you have a crush on Davina."

Kol scoffed, looking away once again, "Don't say it like that, you make me seem like a mindless human."

ย  ย ย  "Technically," she drawled. "You are human. You're not in your vamp body anymore, you're just pure flesh and bone now."

ย  ย ย  "Yay me," Kol grinned sarcastically, twisting his wrists around in his shackles.

ย ย  "Don't pout, Kol," Jordanna teased. "It makes you look like a dog."

ย  ย  "Ouch," Kol deadpanned, narrowing his eyes down on the vampire as she pulled out her phone from her jacket pocket as it buzzed.

WOLF-GIRL
help me, asap.
i'm freaking out.

ย ย  Jordanna's brows crinkled lightly in confusion before she shoved her phone back in her pocket and rose from her seat. Kol looked up at her with narrowed eyes as he felt her hand drop down onto his head.

ย  ย  "Duty calls," Jordanna said, patting his head before she sent him a grin and made her way out of the room, bumping into Klaus and Marcel, who seemed to be making their way into the room.

ย  ย  The two stopped in place upon her presence and paused, the Jones slowed her steps before finally stopping, looking the pair in the eye, she looked back at Kol who was seated in the room and back to Klaus and Marcel, "Hurt him and I hurt you."

ย  ย  The two men shared a look before a wide grin pulled at Jordanna's lips, she reached up, placing a brisk kiss on Klaus' cheek before she made her way out of the Compound.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย ย  After meeting with Hayley the two made their way up to Cami's apartment, with already being invited in Jordanna barged into the small space of the flat and grinned widely at the sight of a frustrated Naomi and a shocked Camiโ€”in the latter's bed.

ย  ย  "Good, you're up," Jordanna's toothy smile caused Naomi to narrow her eyes. The raven-haired vampire bent down and picked up a discarded top from the floor ( she recognised to be Naomi's ) and threw it to the Tate vampire. "Get dressed lovebirds, Hayley needs a favour."

ย  ย  The, seemingly, shocked blonde's wide eyes travelled from a joyous Jordanna to an awkward Hayley, who sent the pair a coy smile and waved in greeting.

ย  ย  As Jordanna dragged Hayley away into the kitchen, leaving Cami and Naomi to change in private her mind drifted. She wasn't one to scream and jump up and down in happiness when she watched a relationship brew ( no, that was Caroline ), but she couldn't help but feelย  . . . something toward Naomi and Cami's relationship.

ย  ย  She guessed she thought it was cute. Whatever. But it reminded her of her time back in Mystic Falls. The time before Klaus arrived. Cami and Naomi simply reminded her of herself and Rose.

ย  ย  Yup, Jordanna and Rose. Dead Rose. The Rose who helped hide Katherine from Klaus back in the 1400's before she offed herself and became the illusive Katherine Pierce. That Rose. She and Jordanna had a thing, before she died. The last kiss Jordanna had shared with a woman was Rose, the last anything Jordanna had shared with a woman was Rose. It merely hurt her to think of . . . because she truly did care for her, a lot.

ย  ย  And it hurt her when she had to drive that stake in her heart. And after she died? That's when Jordanna took her little break from Mystic Fallsโ€”leaving to head for Chicago, where she visited Gloria.

ย  ย  Thoughts of Rose consumed her as she, Hayley, Naomi and Cami made their way to Kieran's secret apartment, where they began searching through Kieran's files.

ย  ย  A groan rippled through Cami's throat, pulling Jordanna from her thoughts. The Jones pushed herself up from the wall, narrowing her eyes at Cami as the blonde shifted uncomfortably in place.

ย  ย  "You sure you're okay?" Hayley voiced, frowning in concern.

ย  ย  Cami let out a sigh, "Yeah, I must be coming down with something."

ย  ย  She's not the only one who went downโ€”stop.

ย  ย  "I'm sorry to drag you out of bed for this," Hayley grimaced in apology, gnawing on her lip anxiously.

ย  ย  Cami smiled lightly, "Please. You just discovered an ancient marriage ritual with pretty drastic supernatural and personal implications. The least I can do is get out of bed. So, this is everything I found in my uncle's files about Werewolf ceremonies and rituals. Mostly, it sounds like old folklore and fables."

ย  ย  Hayley nodded with a small sigh, Cami glanced over at her in sympathy as Jordanna made her way over to Naomi, the latter's eyes on Cami.

ย  ย  "What's wrong with Ms. Vanilla?" Jordanna whispered over to her as Hayley and Cami continued to search through boxes.

ย  ย  Naomi shot her a look.

ย  ย  "Sorryโ€”joke, calm down," Jordanna defended, holding her hands up in surrender. "Seriously though, what's up with her? She looks like she's ready to drop 6ft under right this second."

ย  ย  "I don't know," Naomi mumbled in answer, "She was fine this morning, and last night for that matter."

ย  ย  Jordanna sent her a suggestive glance, "Oh yeah? I bet she was."

ย  ย  "Shut up," Naomi scoffed, nudging the younger vampire with an eyeroll.

ย  ย  Jordanna sent her an exuberant wink before her eyes followed Cami's movements as the blonde began putting the files away, the raven-haired woman tilted her head as she took a small step toward the O'Connell.

ย  ย  "Uhโ€”Blondie?" Jordanna awkwardly tapped Cami on the shoulder, grimacing as she did. "The fuck is on your back?"

ย  ย  Cami looked at her in confusion before she moved toward to a nearby mirror, that hung on the wall, she turned so she could see for herself.

ย  ย  A vertical line of, what one could only assume was, small pin-pricks ran down the length of her spine, visible through the small slit in the back of her shirt.

ย ย  Jordanna internally shuddered at the sight of the small holes. Small holes, small circlesโ€”anything of the type freaked her the fuck out. It ran a chill through her body.

ย  ย  Gross.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Jordanna, followed by Cami, made her way into the Compound when Davina's voice echoed across the Courtyard. "Klaus is the problem!" She expressed angrily, "I don't give a damn what happens to Esther."

ย  ย  "Yeah, well, I sure do," Cami stated as she and Jordanna walked over to join the three. Jordanna halted in her steps upon seeing Klaus laying still on the floor of the Compound.

ย  ย  The raven-haired vampire sucked on her teeth and her eyes directly went to Kol, "What did you do, asshole?"

ย  ย  Kol raised his hands in surrender. "Not me. I wouldn't," he said when she gave him a look that told him she didn't believe a word that left his mouth. "I'm in no mood for you to throw me across a room, so why would I?"

ย  ย  Jordanna jutted her lip out, she inhaled deeply before her eyes fell onto Marcel, the Gerard only held his hands up in defence, leaving Davina to shuffle awkwardly on her feet.

ย  ย  "Cami, you should go. It's not safe," Davina spoke up, looking away from Jordanna's hard stare.

ย  ย  Cami scoffed sarcastically, "No kidding! I woke up with puncture wounds all up and down my spine and no idea how they got there. According to Jordanna, they're part of this ancient spell, and I don't know about you guys, but when I see ancient and spell in the same sentence, I think Esther."

ย ย  Davina and Marcel looked over at the blonde in concern, while Jordanna and Kol merely looked bored. "Sit," Jordanna demanded, pushing down on Cami's shoulder forcefully causing the O'Connell to stumble on her feet as her ass met the couch.

ย  ย  "Thanks," the blonde muttered, rubbing at her neck awkwardly.

ย ย  "That's mum's work, alright. She must've wiped your memory," Kol stated as he and Davina looked over at the puncture wounds on her back.

ย ย  "Not the first time that's been done by a member of this family," Cami scoffed lightly, shooting a glare at Klaus', very unconscious, body. "What does it mean?"

ย  ย  "It's a by-product of a . . . preparation spell," Kol replied, slightly hesitant.

ย ย  "Preparation for what?" Davina inquired.

ย ย  "To make her a vessel," Kol confirmed, causing Davina and Marcel to share the same look of horror as Cami's eyes flickered between them in confusion.

ย  ย  Jordanna poked her cheek with her tongue at the bewildered expression on the blonde's face, "Body jumping, Blondie, that's what he means."

ย  ย  "Likely herself," Kol added. "I mean, knowing mother."

ย  ย  Marcel shot the Mikaelson a glance of suspicion as Cami leant forward, resting her elbows on her knees as she thought about what she'd just been told. "Where's Vincent?"

ย ย  Jordanna silently nodded her head in the direction of the ballroom, watching as the blonde nodded back in gratitude and shot up from her seat, stalking that way.

ย  ย  As Cami made her way over to Vincent, or wellโ€”Finn, Jordanna sauntered into the hallway, standing by Klaus' still body. The vampire huffed, letting out a breath of air as she crouched down and placed her fingers on his temple.

ย  ย  She muttered a few chants under her breath before stopping, she looked up at Davina with narrowed eyes, "Why isn't it working?"

ย  ย  "Because I'm the only one who can wake him up," Davina told her simply.

ย  ย  Jordanna released a bigger sigh. Don't rip her tongue out and shove it down Kol's throat. Don't rip her tongue out and shove it down Kol's throat. Don't rip her tongue out and shove it down Kol's throat. "When will he wake up?" She questioned, looking Davina in the eye.

ย  ย  The Claire girl merely shrugged with a smug smile on her lips as she watched the tip of Jordanna's heel nudge Klaus' side.

ย  ย  "Stop smiling kid, it's not that funny," Jordanna told her, nearing her with that same smug smile. "Like it wouldn't be funny if I did the same to Kol or Marcel."

ย  ย  "C'mon now, J!-"

ย  ย  "You wouldn't hurt me, you love me too bloody much-"

ย  ย  "Yeah, but . . . you like them, Jords," Davina defended. "I don't like him. Like, at all."

ย  ย  "That is so not the point-"

ย  ย  "How long do I have?" Cami asked hurriedly as she rushed back into the Courtyard.

ย  ย  Kol's eyes flitted from Jordanna to Cami. "Well, now that Esther knows where Rebekah is hiding . . . not very long. The only way to stop it is to stop her," Kol told her, earning a deep shaky breath to slip from Cami before she nodded her head.

ย  ย  Jordanna anxiously tapped her fingers along her thighs, the words Kol had spoken put her on edge. If Esther knew where Rebekah was that meant she wasn't soon off from finding about the little secret Rebekah had kept by her side for the past few months.

ย  ย  "Then let's do this. Marcel's a vampire, you both are powerful witches, Jordanna'sโ€”" Cami stammered along her words, what the hell was a witch and a vampire? "Jordanna's something!"

ย  ย  Marcel rubbed his jaw, pacing as he spoke. "Esther's stronger than anything I've ever seen. We go up against herย  . . . " he met Davina's eye. "We're going to need Klaus."

ย  ย  "No. No," Davina shook her head, coming to an abrupt stand. "We can do this without him!"

ย  ย  "We can't, D, and I know that, really, really hurts you to hear," Jordanna started, tone sarcastic, "But we need him. I need him."

ย  ย  "Uh," Kol let out a dramatic breath. "I'm never gonna' say this again but they're both right. We do need the bastardโ€”ow!"

ย  ย  Kol sent a glare in Jordanna's direction as a searing hot pain flashed through his head, the vampire merely shrugged. "Don't call him that, asshole," she murmured before turning back to Davina.

ย  ย  "Think of Cami," Jordanna told her, grimacing at what she had come to. Begging, gross. "Cami needs him." That was something she never wanted to say again, "We can't defeat Esther on our own, we're not the freakin' Fantastic Four."

ย  ย  With a sigh Davina slowly walked over to Klaus' body, kneeling down beside his head she hesitated. "Chop chop," Jordanna clicked her fingers when she noticed the reluctance Davina held.

ย  ย  The Claire witch sighed and placed her fingers on his temple, muttering a spell under her breath when suddenly Klaus shot up with a gasp, rolling onto his side.

ย  ย  "What did she do to me?" Klaus asked angrily as he pulled himself up to his feet, eyes finding Jordanna's who sent him a wiggle of her fingers in greeting.

ย  ย  Davina's lips upturned into a smirk, "All you need to know is that I beat you. Again."

ย  ย  Klaus' lips pulled up in amusement, a slight chuckle left his mouth. "And yet, you relented. You need me don't you?" A sigh and eyeroll from Davina told him all he needed to know, his smirk only grew larger, "Did I really lose?"

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย ย  Jordanna groggily dragged her body around the hallway of the Courtyard, a bowl of cereal in hand as she lifted the spoon to her lips when she noticed Klaus hurriedly making his way toward her.

ย  ย  "Oh, hey-" her words were cut short as the Mikaelson grabbed her wrist in one hand, the other swiftly reached out and grabbed the bowl, disregarding it on a passing cabinet as he continued to drag her toward the exit of the Compound. "Uhโ€”Hello? I was eating that-"

ย  ย  "You can eat on the way," Klaus responded simply.

ย  ย  Jordanna frowned and pulled her wrist free from his grip earning an agitated sigh to leave the Mikaelson's lips as he turned to face herโ€”the Jones stood still, staring at him in confusion.

ย  ย  "What, why? Where are we going?" She asked in confusion.

ย  ย  "To see our son."
