Worry waved over me as I sat on the plastic chair outside of Maria's room, the smell of hospital filled my nostrils. My worries grew by the second, the door opened and I bolted up, only to see the nurse leaving her room. I sat back down and tears began to fall down my face, I was so worried with what was going on. I hope Maria is okay as well as the baby. My anxiety was worse, my whole body felt like jelly and I was going to pass out any minute.

Awhile more passed, my mother was sat beside me and was reading her book to take her mind off of the worrying, the door opened once more and out came Nicolas, standing there.

"Are you okay? Is everything okay?" I stood up and faced him as I asked, he brought me close for a hug and I hugged him back as the tears evaporated from my eyes.

"Yeah, looks like we don't have one child." Nicolas looks at me with a smile.

"What?" I ask and raise my brow, a chuckle leaves his mouth.

"We've got twins, but they're very premature..." He looks to the floor and worry hits me again, not only are we worrying about one baby... But two!

"I hope you've got another name planned." I say and giggle, my mother talks to Nicolas as I sit back down in the chair.

Twins? This is so great!

I've never pictured my brother having a child, let alone two children! My veins fill with excitement, one of them are definitely going to be called Dante. They've been stuck on that name for ages.

Awhile passed and my mother and I drove back home, we made ourselves comfy on the sofa as we waited on more news about Nicolas and Maria, their babies were born premature, meaning they probably won't be home for awhile. Which is sad as I want my auntie hugs.

I decided to leave the sofa and walk to the garden, the garden was still neat and tidy, I sat on the wooden bench and decided to call Diego to tell him the news, I try once but he doesn't pick up, I sigh as I feel a sudden liquid drop on my head, I look up and feel the drizzle of rain falling from the sky.

The rain drop evaporates and leaves my skin feeling fresh and cool, the wind begins to pick up and the rain falls harder. I pick myself up and walk under the conservatory. I try call again and this time it goes through.

"Diego?" I question and all I hear is his rough voice.

"Serena?" He questions me back and I feel puzzled.

"Um, Nicolas has had his child, well children." I said and waited for Diego's response.

"That's great! How come they're having twins now?" Diego questions and then flashbacks come to be as I heard Nicolas speak to my mother about what happened.

"Well, one of the babies were hiding behind the other." I say and smile at the thought of being an auntie of two, I've always wanted to be an auntie but I never thought I would be.

"Oh, hiding? You can't be doing that in the mafia." He chuckles and then the thought hits me, those babies are going to be a part of the mafia.

"Well...They might not want to be in the mafia." I say softly waiting for his response and opinion on all of this.

"Yeah well, they might." He states and I roll my eyes. I sigh and wait for our silence to break, in which it doesn't and I decide to break it.

"How is it going?" I ask and he sighs, I can hear the frustration coming through his voice.

"Well, we found their old hide out spot and some... Pictures." The silence between some and pictures tells me that he isn't happy with saying 'pictures'.

"What pictures?" I question slowly but he sighs deeply.

"Just some pictures with my mother being hurt." I gasp at his frustration in his voice... His mother was hurt by people...

"By who?" I question angrily.

"The Black Eagles." He states with aggression. Silence overcomes our conversation again.

"I'm sorry Diego." I try and show the reassurance in my voice but no one will feel great after finding pictures of their mother being hurt by other people.

The conversation doesn't go on for long, Diego was saying he has other work to do, which I doubt he has...He's just avoiding me.

I walk away from the garden and notice my exhausted mother on the sofa, sound asleep with her head resting on the pillow, I gather a blanket and put it over her. As soon as I leave her a knock appears at the door, I walk over slowly and quietly and then open it.

"Hey Alice." I say and mesmerise her looks. Her brown hair is slicked into a bun and her brown eyes look at mine with confusion to why I haven't let her in yet.

"Sorry." I apologise and make room for Alice to come in, she follows me to my room where she gently places herself on my bed and sighs.

"Everything okay?" I ask and raise my brow, she nods and stares at me.

"We haven't seen each other in a while, I thought it would be nice to see you again, but I'm assuming this is a bad time? The house is empty and your mum is asleep on the sofa." She smiles at me and I shake my head, of course this isn't a bad time, why would she think that?

"No." I say and get a knock on my bedroom door, my mind travels to Lia, who I completely forget is still in our house.

I run to the door and open it wide, guilt hits me as I see her, her smile reassures me but doesn't make me feel any better, her hair is curled and her eye lids have some eyeshadow placed on them perfectly, bringing out her brown eyes, her eyes remind me of Diego. His eyes are so brown and sparkly, I notice that Lia's eyes are more of a chocolate colour than Diego's.

"Hey Lia, are you okay?" I ask her and give her a smile, where she smiles back and nods her head.

"Have you heard from Diego today?" She asks and I nod, answering her question shortly but then answering with a larger reply.

"Yeah, he's doing well." I answer and her smile grows.

"That's great! I heard your brother this morning, is everything okay?" She asks and I take a deep breath.

"Yes, Nicolas and his partner have had their babies!" I say and she smiles more, I hear Alice gasp behind me when I mention that she's already had her babies.

"Oh poor thing, I hope those babies will do well." She says, I agree with her as she heads back to the guest bedroom, I close the door and watch as Alice's facial expression changes to pure delight.

"So, babies huh?" She wiggles her eyebrows and smiles, I laugh and nod.

"Nicolas dealing with two children...I never thought he'd have one." She chuckles and I laugh, I couldn't agree more with her, my brother is growing up with his girlfriend who has given birth to their two beautiful boys, who I haven't seen just yet, but when they're big enough they're getting so many hugs.

"You'll be a great auntie!" Alice claps her hands and the thought makes me chuckle, those children could always run to me when they've had enough of their father and they need someone to complain to.

The day flys by and Alice decides to stay for the night, where she lays on the floor.

"How you feeling Serena?" I hear Alice's voice drown out the silence.

"Yeah I'm okay." I say and sigh, I look up to the ceiling... Am I really okay? I've just found out information about Diego's mum and my brother has had his babies at the wrong time who could then become really ill.

Worry engulfs me of the thought that the babies might not even make it, I'm hoping that everything will be okay and they won't catch any flu or anything similar, but if they're anything like their mother or father, they'll be strong and they'll get through this.

Midnight hits and I'm still unable to sleep, I look around the room and it's full of darkness, I listen out and hear Alice's light snores coming from the floor, I sigh in defeat of exhaustion.

I face the wall and tears begin to fall down to my nose and hit my mattress leaving a small patch of wetness and discolouration. I couldn't stop picturing Maria crying with her babies. Unfortunately I have anxiety, I know... A big strong old mafia girl who has anxiety. But whenever something bad happens I always worry about the worst outcome, I always believe that the worst will always happen. It's not healthy and I know that, but I guess it's who I am and I need to embrace that.

I toss and I turn, I glance at the clock and notice the numbers changing, two o'clock in the morning... Brilliant.
I force my eyes shut and fall to sleep. But I can't help but worry about Maria and her babies, will Maria be okay?

Morning arrived and I was not ready to get out of bed, I threw the duvet over my head and buried myself away.

"Serena?" I hear Alice's voice question to if I was awake or not, and rudely I ignored her. I shouldn't have but I'm tired and I'm upset.

I hear the door shut but a few moments later re-open, the smell of flowers arrived in my room, my duvet is shaken away from my head and I open my eyes and notice Diego's mum looking at me.

"Come on sweetheart, I've made you breakfast." She tried to cheer me up, but to show my respect I get out of bed and follow her to the dining room, where my mother and Alice are also sitting with their scrambled egg on toast, with their waters sitting there still next to their plates.

I take a seat opposite my mother and next to Alice, she smiles at me as I smile back.

"How did you sleep?" My mother asks me as she begins to fill her fork.

"Bad." I shortly said and began to stuff my mouth with egg.

"So, how's Nicolas and Maria doing?" Lia stares at my mother and questions.

My mother finishes off her mouthful and smiles at Lia.
"Yes, they're really good, luckily both of the babies are really healthy!" My mums voice turns to excitement, I'm glad that the babies are okay and that they're healthy.

"How's Maria really mum?" I raise a brow and my mother takes a deep breath.

"She's okay honey, obviously she's going to be worried if her babies were born premature, especially when she was only expecting one baby." She continues eating and all I do is nod my head.

We finish breakfast and the conversation also finishes. I sigh and decide to message Diego. But there was no reply.
