A knock sounded through the large room, and Esme tore her glassy eyes from the window.
"Yes?" She spoke softly, watching as the knob turned and a tall man walked in bearing a kind smile.
Esme couldn't help but shoot up, her legs moved faster than her mind and suddenly she had wrapped her arms around Caspers neck.
Her brother stumbled slightly but instantly returned to gesture. Pulling away his placed his hands against her face and rage filled his eyes. Esmerelda's eyes were sunken and lined with a hollow blue.
Β Β Β She looked exhausted. Bruises linedΒ her jaw delicately from where the curseΒ rebounded against her chest and smallΒ cuts lined her chapped lips.
Β Β "Essie.." Casper trialed off, his fingers brushing against the injury's solemnly.
Β "I'm fine, Cas'. Swear it" Esmerelda nodded reassuringly. She although, was not convincing.
Β Β Casper shook his head,Β Β "I swear, I'd kill him if I had the chance."
Β Β Casper, although a proud member of the sacred 28 was soft. He hated the values it held and hated the people on it. Esme and Marjorie were his biggest weaknesses, ones that would get him killed when the time came.
Her brother sighed. He felt the guilt β "I've missed you" he whispered, his eyes raking her solemn face.
"I missed you much more."
Casper Nott shook his head, "you should come visit me more often" he mumbled with a small smile gracing his features. "Then the predicament of missing each other would be solved."
Esme chuckled, "you know what fathers like, cas'."
Casper not sighed, "yes I do, but you see my dear sisterβ we are blood and he cannot prohibit us from talking once the child is born"
Esmeralda smiled. Her brother truly was a soul that no one deserved.

Three days. Three days Esmeralda has not left her room and has merely survived on water and healing potions. Her mother had draped the ball gown against her large wardrobe in the early hours of the morning with a potion for the young girls energy levels for the notorious Christmas ball that would take place soon that day. Natalia had muttered something about having their house elf, rogo help her into the right dress.
Esme had to admit the gown was gorgeous, its stark green colours matched her house and it was not at all as modest as the clothes her mother and father usually forced her to wear.
She slipped on the dress with ease, before it was snugg but now there was slight room for adjustment at her stomach and back. Days of torture and lack of food causing the girl to drop at least four pounds.
She called for rogo to adjust rhe clothes, and the house elf did with pride. Esme was loved by every elf they had, before her father killed them of banished them.
The girl sat at her dresser and brushed out the curls rogo had placed in her hair with the help of magic and then she went on to apply makeup to cover bruises and enhance her beauty.
She heard the chime from the bell at the edge of her door. They were connected all throughout the manor for when guests arrived and the Nott's did not want to bellow through the house for their children.
Esme slipped on the laced heels as she left her room and descended the stairs. At the end, there stood her group of friends. All stood with looks of awe on their face as Evan held out his arm for Esme who graciously grasped. The boy leant in, "you look ravishing, my dear Esme." He spoke with a soft smirk as his eyes trailed her.
"Thank you, dear. You look well, yourself" she replied before looking towards Regulus, Barry, Pandora, and the twins. "How did I get so lucky to have such devilishly beautiful friends?" She asked with a smile, her eyes trailing her companions with such glee that no one would suspect the horror filled days she had experienced in Nott manor.
"As if you'd ever be friends with someone who wasn't up to your standards" Barty laughed, his body coming to connect with Esme's as his lips brushed her cheek.
"Don't make me sound shallow" she warned feigning a glare before turning to Evan. "Dance with me?"
The boy nodded, "of course, love."

The night was going smoothly, and after many glasses of champagne Esme collected her friends and dragged them to the drawing on the furthest side of the mansion. She laughed as she swayed on the ladder against the large book shelf. Looking for the large bottle of fire whiskey she had stashed last summer.
"Salazar, you're going to fall" Pandora giggled as the effect of alcohol he'd taken over.
"Oh hush panda, I know it's here somewhere" she mumbled, pulling hooks down she knocked against the wood before hearing the hollow spot.
"Here it is!" She yelled, pushing the wood to its side she pulled the bottle from a hollow whole nested behind books. Swiftly turning, her foot slipped from the ladder and Evan jumped to catch the girl. Whilst Evan, worried sick she had hurt herself despite his ability to catch her β esme laughed loudly kicking her legs as she help the bottle in her hand.
"I'm bloody amazing, you lot better love me for the rest of your days"
"Oh love, you know we will" Donavon laughed kissing the girls neck as she collapsed on his lap.
