- JULY 15th -

LILLIAN was woken up by her mother and brother shouting 'happy birthday' to her. As much as she wasn't really a morning person, she still couldn't help the small smile etching on her face. She rubbed her tired eyes as she groaned playfully, "Couldn't you guys have waited 'till I was already up?" She covered her face once her brother ripped opened her curtains.

"Where's the fun in that?" Nathan teased as their mother sat on the edge of the bed with a cupcake on a plate in her hands.

"Happy 17th birthday, my little blossoming flower." Leila cooed as Lillian took the cupcake happily whilst her mother patted her head.

"Thanks, guys." She smiled at her mother and brother before blowing out the single lit candle.

"Here, Peter got you this." Nathan said with a slight shrug. "He had to go take care of some stuff." He said as Lillian took a quick bite of her cupcake before setting it aside on her nightstand. She grabbed the small wrapped box from her brother, hesitantly opening it. "I told him to invite Spider-Man over, but he thought it was a stupid idea." He rolled his eyes.

Lillian and Leila shared a knowingly look whilst Leila shook her head at her son's comment. Lillian chuckled softly before continuing unwrapping the small box as she let out a small gasp. "He didn't." She whispered as slight tears brimmed her eyes whilst pulling out a gold Tangled sun inspired necklace out.

"I don't get it? It's just a sun?" Nathan asked which earned him a small smack on his shoulder from his mother.

"It's from her favorite Disney movie." Leila shushed him as she watched her daughter quickly put the necklace on herself.

...

LATER on that day after Lillian spent some time with her family and after being dressed, Peter called her to meet her on the roof top.

"You summoned me?" Lillian asked whilst slightly doing a curtsy toward Peter.

He shook his head whilst laughing softly at her antics. "Yeah, I sort of have surprise for you."

Lillian shook her head, "Oh no, Peter. That's sweet of you, but the necklace was enough. You don't have to." She insisted.

"But I want to," He smiled softly at her as he wrapped an arm around her waist securely, "besides, I have a feeling you're gonna love this one." He said with a sly smirk etching on his face as Lillian noticed his web shooters on his wrists.

She shook her head rapidly, "Nope. No, Peter." She chuckled nervously.

"Lills, how many times do I have to tell you that I got you?" He asked rhetorically. "I would never drop you, okay?" He said softly.

"Okay, okay. But just know that if you drop me, you're dead." She reminded.

Peter nodded with a cheeky smile, "Noted." He said as Lillian wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck before Peter swung off to wherever he was heading to.

Once they safely landed at the surprise destination, Peter unwrapped his arm from Lillian. "Lills? You can let go now... you're safe." He chuckled lightly at the state she was in.

She peeked out of one eye to see that Peter was telling the truth before fully opening both of her eyes, "Right... Yeah." She jumped off of Peter before slightly brushing herself off. "I knew that." She scoffed lightly whilst looking around in confusion. "Where exactly are we?"

Peter scratched the back of his neck, "We're at-"

"Well, if it isn't the birthday girl!" Lillian turned around to see Tony Stark.

"H-Hi..." She said in shock even though she already met him, she was still star-stuck.

"Hey, Mr. Stark." Peter gave him a tight lipped smile. "is the uh, is it ready?" He asked nervously.

"Is what ready?" Tony asked, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "I'm messing with you, kid." He laughed, "You should've seen the look on your face. Follow me." He walked over to a closed door as they both followed suit.

"Peter what's going on?" Lillian whispered as she slightly nudged him.

"At this point, I'm not sure." Peter shrugged as Tony turned around to face them.

"Alright, birthday girl. Peter here, won't shut up about you and how smart you are so he highly insisted that I should 'hire' you as an actual intern... or whatever." Tony shrugged as he opened the door as it revealed an office for Lillian. "You'll be Peter's 'intern' of course, since you actually keep him grounded and refrain him from doing anything... spontaneous?" He teased.

"I-I don't know what to say..." She said in awe whilst shaking her head. "Oh my god, uh thank you." She smiled nervously at Tony before looking at Peter in shock. "Wait, someone pinch me."

"Why?" Peter asked.

"Cause I might be dreaming." She mumbled as she looked around for any hidden cameras.

"You're not dreaming, kid. This is all very real." He smiled softly at her. "Welcome to the family."

- AUGUST 10th -

PETER smiled down at the somewhat decent birthday cake his aunt had made, "Thanks May." He said as he was engulfed in a tight hug.

"You're getting so big." She said softly as she slightly teared up.

"May..." He tried to breathe out, "May, I sort of... can't breathe... at the moment." He said quietly.

"I'm sorry." She cooed as she let go of the hug only to squeeze her nephew's cheeks. "I just can't believe you're 17 already."

Peter rolled his eyes playfully as he shook his head, "You say this every year."

"And I'll continue saying it every year." She laughed softly as there was a light knock on the door, "You mind getting that while I clean up?" She asked as Peter nodded whilst getting the door.

"Happy birthday!" Lillian cheered whilst throwing her arms around Peter which caused him to stumble back slightly but wrapped his arms around her regardlessly. "Hey, May." She smiled.

"Hey, Lilly." May called out with a smile before continuing with her cleaning whilst Peter closed the door after Lillian walked in.

"What d'ya got there?" He asked, pointing at the gift bag in Lillian's hand.

"Oh, this?" Lillian lifted the bag up slightly with a sly smile before shrugging, "Oh, nothing special. It's just a simple gift bag that holds a birthday gift for a special someone." She smiled teasingly.

"Lills, you didn't have to give me a gift." He shook his head with a soft smile, "You just being in my life is a gift already." He said softly as May cooed at them in the background.

"No, don't do that. Don't say those cheesy stuff that you know is going to make me give in so easily." Lillian wagged her finger at him. "Shut your precious face up and just open your present." She chuckled lightly whilst handing him the gift bag.

"Fine." He smiled at her as he took the bag from her. He pulled out the red and blue sheets of paper from the white gift bag as he then pulled out a Yashica Electro 35 camera. "No way!" He smiled widely as he looked up at Lillian who was already smiling back at him.

"You were always talking about getting this camera last summer, so..." Lillian shrugged sheepishly.

Peter placed the bag and camera down on the coffee table near them before engulfing Lillian in a warm embrace, "It's perfect, thank you." He said quietly with a small smile still written on his face. He slightly pulled away from her with knitted eyebrows, "That must've costed you a fortune, Lills."

Lillian shook her head, "Not really. I sorta had help from my mom and May." She smiled softly.

"It was no big deal." May chimed in.

Peter laughed softly, "Thank you, again." He said whilst hugging Lillian once more. "And thank you, May." He sighed contently as he smiled at his whole world that both stood in front of him, his aunt, May, and his girlfriend, Lillian.
