"Officer Cho, Chief, is calling for you. He mentioned it's urgent and wants to speak with you right away," an officer informed Officer Cho, who was engrossed in reviewing a file on her computer. She tore her gaze away from the screen to acknowledge the message with a nod.

Quickly closing the file, Officer Cho rose from her desk, her curiosity piqued as she made her way towards the chief's office.

With each step, she couldn't help but wonder what could be so pressing that the chief needed to speak with her immediately.

"Chief Kim," Officer Cho greeted as she entered the office, bowing respectfully.

"You requested to speak with me urgently." She inquired, her voice tinged with curiosity and a touch of concern. The chief glanced up from his desk, his expression grave.

"Please, take a seat," he instructed, gesturing towards the chair opposite his desk. Officer Cho nodded in acknowledgment and complied, settling into the chair as she awaited the chief's words.

"You may go now; please close the door behind you," Chief Kim instructed the person who had entered the office with Officer Cho. With a click, the door closed, enveloping the room in a hushed stillness.

"Ahem!" Chief Kim cleared his throat, shattering the silence. Leaning forward, his eyes locked on Officer Cho, he began to speak.

"I've called you in today because we've received some troubling information," the chief began, his voice steady and serious.

Officer Cho raised her eyebrows slightly, a flicker of concern crossing her features. Leaning in closer, she awaited the chief's words with anticipation.

"Before we delve into the matter at hand, I realised I forgot to inquire about how you've been, Taeyang," the chief said, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips.

"Chief Officer Kim Seokjin, could you please inform me of the matter?" Officer Cho asked, her voice tinged with a hint of annoyance. The chief's smile faded as he regarded her, his expression turning serious.

"If you insist," he responded, his tone mirroring her annoyance.

"The case we have in Busan is sending shivers down our spines," Chief Seokjin began, his tone grave. Taeyang's expression shifted when she heard the mention of Busan.

"It entails a series of mysterious disappearances involving young and middle-aged women over the past year," he continued, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on his words. As Seokjin spoke about the case, thoughts began to swirl in Taeyang's mind.

"The Busan crime branch has been exerting tireless efforts to crack the case, but unfortunately, they haven't made much headway," Chief Seokjin continued, his tone reflecting the gravity of the situation. "Consequently, they've reached out to us for assistance."

Seokjin turned his gaze towards Taeyang. "Therefore, we've decided to deploy two of our officers to aid in the investigation," he declared, his voice infused with confidence.

"I have proposed that Jeon Jungkook be one of the officers," Seokjin continued, maintaining his unwavering gaze on Taeyang. "Despite being a junior and lacking extensive experience, his exceptional skills and unwavering dedication have proven to be invaluable in previous cases."

Seokjin paused briefly before continuing, "Moreover, Jungkook hails from Busan himself. His familiarity with the local area could offer a significant advantage in navigating the intricacies of the investigation." He emphasised the potential advantages of selecting Jungkook for the task at hand.

"What do you mean he's from Busan too?" Taeyang raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by the revelation.

"Well," Seokjin chuckled drily, meeting Taeyang's gaze. "Taeyang, I understand this may be challenging for you," he sighed before continuing. "However, please try to grasp the gravity of the situation. This case is exceedingly complex."

Seokjin's tone softened as he continued, "I have full confidence in your abilities to crack this case, and I believe you can also mentor Jungkook effectively, given your shared hometown."

"Coming from the same locality doesn't mean that I can go and deal with this case." Taeyang's tone was dim as she crossed her arms.

"Seokjin, you know how much I have gone through in hell staying in Busan. Even though it's my hometown, I have no one to rely on there. It's not fair to expect me to take on such a challenging case and be responsible for Jungkook's learning as well." Seokjin sighed, understanding Taeyang's frustration.

He had witnessed firsthand the struggles she had faced in Busan, and he knew how difficult it had been for her to get herself there. But he also knew that she was an incredibly talented cop, with a sharp mind and a determination that knew no bounds.

"But this is about innocent girls," Seokjin insisted, only to be interrupted by Taeyang.

"I understand that, but I was once a victim too, Seokjin," Taeyang's voice trembled with pain and anger. "The life I had there wasn't peaceful like that of the other girls. I witnessed and endured things that no one should ever have to go through," she recounted, her voice quivering with raw emotion.

Seokjin could see the weight of her past bearing down on Taeyang's shoulders, causing her to carry a burden that few could comprehend. Despite the pain etched on her face, Seokjin knew that Taeyang's past had shaped her into the resilient and determined cop she had become. It was this unique perspective that made her an invaluable asset to their team, as she was able to empathise with the victims in ways that others couldn't.

Seokjin sighed wearily, closing his eyes briefly before reopening them. "Alright then, the decision rests with you," he said, offering Taeyang a reassuring smile as he leaned back in his chair.

"Officer Yang, please summon Jeon to my office," Seokjin called out to his assistant, Yang, who promptly approached to receive the instruction. With a respectful bow, Yang exited the cabin to carry out the task.

After a few seconds, Seokjin and Taeyang heard the hoarse but soft voice of a jeon entering the cabin. He bowed respectfully to Taeyang, his senior, and then turned his gaze to Seokjin. "Chief, you wanted to see me?" Jeon asked, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and concern. Seokjin motioned for Jeon to take a seat and nodded. "Indeed, Jeon. I wanted to discuss an important matter with you," Seokjin replied, his tone serious yet reassuring.

"I think you know the murders that are going on in Busan," Seokjin began, his voice lowering slightly. Jeon gave a nod of understanding, his eyes narrowing in concentration. "Yes, Chief. The recent string of murders has been causing quite a stir in the city," Jeon replied, his voice tinged with determination. Seokjin leaned forward, his gaze intense. "The Busan crime branch has requested that we assist in the investigation," Seokjin stated, his words carrying a weight of responsibility. Jeon's eyebrows furrowed as he processed the information, realising the gravity of the situation. "So we wanted to send you to lead the team, Jeon Jungkook," Seokjin continued, his tone filled with confidence.

Jungkook's eyes widen as he absorbs the unexpected news. Shifted his gaze to Taeyang, who is sitting beside him, whose expression is calm and composed. He looked at his chief. "But Jin Hyu—I mean, Mr.Seokjin, I'm just a junior on the team." Jungkook stammered, his voice betraying a mix of excitement and nervousness. Seokjin smiled reassuringly at Jungkook, understanding his concerns. "I know you're new to this, but I believe in your abilities. This is a chance for you to prove yourself and grow as an investigator," he said, offering encouragement.

"You have dealt with many cases before, and I have seen your dedication and quick thinking in action. Trust yourself, Jungkook." Seokjin spoke, his voice filled with confidence. "What about Officer Taeyang? Is she going to be working with us on this case?" Jungkook asked, hoping for some familiar support. Seokjin's gaze shifted to Taeyang as he considered Jungkook's question. "I'm not taking this," Taeyang said, her voice firm and unwavering.

"Taeyang, take your own time to make your decision. Even in the last minutes, we will support you." Seokjin reassured Taeyang, his tone filled with understanding. "You don't have to wait for my decision to proceed with the case," Taeyang replied, her eyes meeting Seokjin. "But I've already made up my mind. I won't be taking this case." Seokjin nodded, his expression showing disappointment but also respect for Taeyang's decision.

"I understand," he said softly. "But still, I hope you will reconsider." Seokjin's words hung in the air as Taeyang contemplated his decision. The weight of the case and the potential consequences weighed heavily on her mind. "Jungkook and Taeyang meet me after work at the usual spot," Seokjin suggested, his voice filled with a mix of concern and determination. Taeyang nodded, silently acknowledging the request.

"Seonbae (a common way of referring to seniors in Korean): You really do not want to handle this with a case," Jungkook asked, his eyebrows furrowing with worry. She turned back to Jungkook, her eyes filled with uncertainty, making Jungkook halt in his tracks. Her gaze softened when she saw the young man's concern. "I understand, Jungkook, but I can't help with this; there are many experts, and also Seokjin himself is the best cop in the Seoul crime branch. But still, he wants me to go on this case." She added it with a sigh.

"Going back to Busan is really a worst-case scenario for me," she continued, her voice tinged with disappointment. "I left that city behind for a reason, and now I don't want to face it again. I think you already know the reason. Seokjin has already told you, hasn't he?" Jungkook nodded sympathetically, understanding the weight of her words. He knew that returning to Busan would not only bring back painful memories for her but also put her in a vulnerable position.

"Let's go now,he said, wanting to meet us." Taeyang said changing the topic Jungkook glanced at Taeyang; he couldn't help but form a small smile on his lips. "Alright," he replied, grateful for the distraction.

Seoul, the busiest city in South Korea, is known for its vibrant nightlife, bustling streets, and modern skyscrapers. It is a city that never sleeps, offering a plethora of entertainment options for both locals and tourists alike. But like every coin has two faces, even this city also has the darkest side, which is not shown to the world. Behind the glitz and glamour, Seoul has to deal with crimes and social issues that are often hidden from the public eye. From petty theft to organised crime, the city's law enforcement agencies work tirelessly to maintain order and ensure the safety of its residents.

"Such a busy city," Jungkook said as he looked out at the bustling streets filled with people going about their daily lives. "It's so exhausting, like every day. A new day, a new case for the police to solve," added Jungkook, sighing. "But we won't rest until we make Seoul a safer place for everyone. Right?" he said, shifting his gaze at his senior. "It won't happen," Taeyang said, making Jungkook frown. "Oh, noona, don't be so pessimistic," Jungkook pleaded.

"It's a fact, Jungkook. This is real, not reel life," Taeyang replied, her voice filled with resignation. "This world is filled with insecurity and darkness. No matter how hard we try, there will always be new dangers and crimes to face. But that doesn't mean we should give up. It's our job to protect our loved ones." Taeyang said it in a clam tone. Jungkook kept staring at her in awe, realising the weight of her words. He knew that Taeyang's experience and journey had shaped her perspective.

"What's with that look on your face?" Taeyang asked, her eyebrows furrowing in curiosity. "Have my words struck a chord with you?" Taeyang asked with a small chuckle. Jungkook shook his head, a faint smile forming on his lips. "I just got reminded of why I admire you so much," he said. "Your determination and strength inspire me to never give up, no matter how tough things may get."

His words made her heart swell with pride. She had always hoped that her journey would have a positive impact on others, and hearing Jungkook express his admiration validated her efforts. It was moments like these that reminded her of the importance of sharing her story and using her experiences to inspire and uplift others.

"Noona, do you remember the first meeting?" Jungkook asked, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. They both burst into laughter, reminiscing about the time when he was just a young intern and she had taken him under her wing by the order of Seokjin, guiding him on how to solve case studies.

She nodded her head, remembering their first meeting. "Yeah, you are just an intern, but you have a lot of potential. Seokjin called me and introduced you as his young cousin who needed guidance in the field." Jungkook chuckled as she said this, recalling how nervous he had been during their initial encounter. "At first, I thought you would be rude and arrogant as you are the cousin of the team leader, but you proved me wrong. You were genuinely interested in learning and improving, and I saw your dedication from day one. Even when Seokjin became chief, it didn't affect your willingness to put in the effort. Your work ethic is truly admirable, and it's clear that you have a genuine passion for this field. I have no doubt that with continued guidance and experience, you will go even further."

Her words made him feel a sense of validation and pride in his accomplishments. "And also, you have become my brother from another mother," she added with a smile. Jungkook was surprised to hear those words from Taeyang. She is a really calm and quiet person who shows less emotion, or we might say she acts cold, so her comment caught him off guard. However, he couldn't help but feel touched by her sentiment and grateful for the strong bond they had formed.

But he wanted to tease her a little, so he replied, "Noona, you are not drunk, are you?" he said playfully, raising an eyebrow. "Brat," she retorted, playfully rolling her eyes. "I may not show it often, but I mean every word. We're family now, whether you like it or not," she said playfully, yet from the bottom of her heart.

"Then, as a sister, you still have to teach him and assist him, Taeyang." They both turned back to see who it was. "Seokjin," "Jin Hyung," Taeyang, and Jungkook exclaimed simultaneously, surprised to see their friend standing there. Seokjin smiled warmly at them, knowing that their bond would only grow stronger with his presence.

"You are eavesdropping on our conversation, aren't you?" Taeyang was accused playfully, raising an eyebrow. Seokjin chuckled and shrugged. "Nah, just happened to overhear a bit," Seokjin replied nonchalantly. "Let's go grab some food and catch up. It's been too long since we've all hung out together." The group nodded in agreement, excited to spend some quality time together. They walked off, their laughter filling the air as they headed towards their favourite restaurant.

"What do you want to eat?" Taeyang asked, glancing at the menu displayed outside the restaurant. Seokjin pondered for a moment before suggesting, "Something spicy like Korean barbecue or hot pot. I've been craving some bold flavours lately." The rest of the group nodded in agreement, their mouths watering at the thought of indulging in a spicy feast. They eagerly entered the restaurant, ready to satisfy their appetites and enjoy each other's company.

The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, filled with the aroma of exotic spices and the chatter of excited diners. The walls were adorned with colourful artwork and traditional Korean decor, adding to the immersive dining experience. The sound of sizzling meats and bubbling hot pots filled the air, creating an anticipation that only heightened their cravings. As they settled into their seats, the group couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the culinary adventure that awaited them.

"Here is your order. Enjoy your meal," the friendly server said with a warm smile, placing steaming plates of bulgogi and kimchi in front of each diner. The tantalising smell wafted through the air, instantly making their mouths water. They eagerly picked up their chopsticks, ready to indulge in the flavours and textures of Korean cuisine.

"Um~~" Seokjin mumbled in unison. Jungkook gave a chuckle as he watched Seokjin's eyes widen in delight. The first bite of bulgogi exploded with a perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, causing both of them to exchange satisfied glances.

"YAh! Taeyang, why do you always keep that tired expression on your face?" Seokjin asked, and his voice was as loud as his drunken laughter. "You are drunk; it's not my face that's tired; it's just my natural resting expression," Taeyang replied with a hint of annoyance. Seokjin continued to laugh, oblivious to Taeyang's response, as he reached for another piece of bulgogi.

"Disrespectful brat," Seokjin muttered under his breath, causing Taeyang to roll her eyes. Despite the annoyance, Taeyang knew that Seokjin's drunken antics were harmless, and she decided to let them slide. She focused on enjoying her meal, hoping that Seokjin would soon sober up and that the night would continue without any further interruptions.

"At least have a smile on your face, Taeyang," Seokjin remarked sarcastically, gesturing towards his own wide grin. Taeyang couldn't help but chuckle at his attempt to lighten the mood, realising that maybe Seokjin's drunken antics weren't as bothersome as she initially thought.

"Such a goofball," Taeyang replied, shaking her head in amusement. She couldn't help but feel a sense of affection for Seokjin, despite his drunken behaviour. Maybe he was just trying to make the night more entertaining for everyone, even if it came across as a bit obnoxious at times. As long as he didn't cross any boundaries, she could overlook his antics and continue to enjoy the evening.

"Yah! How dare you call me your chief as a goofball? Seokjin retorted playfully, with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Despite his protest, it was clear that he too found amusement in their light-hearted banter. It was moments like these that reminded her why she cherished their friendship so much.

"Aish! Stop it, Seokjin!" she exclaimed, feigning annoyance but unable to hide the smile that tugged at her lips. Deep down, she knew that their playful exchanges were what made their bond so special and enduring.

"But taeyang-ah, you know I can't resist teasing you," Seokjin replied, his laughter filling the air. "It's just too much fun seeing your reactions," he added. Taeyang rolled her eyes dramatically, pretending to be exasperated by Seokjin's constant teasing. "Well, you better prepare yourself for the payback that's coming your way," she warned, teasingly tilting her head.

"Look at you now, all smiling and happy faces." Seokjin chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Jin Hyung, it's enough. You had drunk enough," Jungkook said with a playful smirk. Seokjin waved off Jungkook's concern, taking another sip from his glass. "Oh, don't worry about me, Maknae. I can handle my liquor," he replied confidently. Taeyang chimed in, teasingly adding, "Besides, it's always entertaining to see what trouble Seokjin gets into when he's had a few too many."

Seokjin laughed, his cheeks slightly flushed from the alcohol. "Well, you guys know I always bring the fun," he said, raising his glass in a toast. The group laughed and clinked their glasses together, enjoying the lively atmosphere of the night. "But Taeyang-ah, you are really the strongest person that I have ever met," Seokjin continued. "Not physically, but emotionally and mentally. I've seen you go through so much, and yet you always manage to stay positive and keep pushing forward." Taeyang smiled gratefully, touched by Seokjin's words. "But this is lacking," he said, his smile fading slightly. "That smile you are having now is not the same as the one I used to see. There's a hint of sadness behind it." Seokjin's expression softened as he reached out and placed a comforting hand on Taeyang's shoulder.

"I know you've been through a lot, and it's okay to not always be okay," he said gently. "Remember, strength also comes from allowing yourself to feel and heal," he said, taking another sip of soju. "I'm here for you, and I'll always be here to support you," he added. "I'm here for you as a big brother and friend," he said, giving Taeyang a reassuring smile. "It's enough, Hyung. You had drunk so much," Jungkook said, taking away the soju bottle from Seokjin's hands.

"YAh! You don't need to worry about me, Jungkook," Seokjin protested, trying to grab the bottle back. "I just want to be there for Taeyang and make sure she knows she's not alone." "But, big brother, you can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself first," Taeyang replied, taking the bottle from Seokjin's hold and setting it aside.

"Taeyang, you have to catch that bastard. You are the only one who's capable of catching him; why don't you understand that?" Seokjin said. His voice trembled with frustration as he pleaded with Taeyang. "If you can't overcome your past, you will always be haunted by it. You deserve to live a life free from the chains of your past, but you need to let go of your fears and trust yourself to move forward," Seokjin said, trying to encourage Taeyang.

Taeyang sighed, her gaze fixed on the floor as she absorbed Seokjin's words. Even though he is drunk, she can see the sincerity in his eyes. She knew deep down that Seokjin was right; she needed to find the strength within herself to face her past, but she didn't know how. "I think we have to leave; it's getting dark already," Taeyang finally said, her voice cold yet calm as she tried to mask her inner turmoil. "Yes, it's getting dark. We have to leave before it gets too late," Jungkook said as he could see the unease in Taeyang's eyes.

"Waiter, can we get the bill, please?" Jungkook called out, trying to distract Taeyang from her thoughts. "And could you bring us some water too? We need to sober up before we go," Seokjin added, his words slurring slightly as he struggled to maintain his composure. The waiter nodded and quickly brought over the bill and two glasses of water. Taeyang's eyes wandered around the dimly lit restaurant, her mind still preoccupied with Seokjin's words.

"Let's go," Jin slurred as he stood up unsteadily from his chair. Taeyang followed suit, her thoughts still lingering as she reluctantly pushed herself away from the table. "Jin Hyung, be careful," Jungkook said, running to Jin's side to offer support. Jin waved him off with a drunken laugh, but Taeyang couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as they stumbled towards the exit.

"My little brat and my little cute sister are always worrying about me," Jin mumbled, his words slurred. Taeyang let out a chuckle as she watched Jin and Jungkook stumble towards the exit. "You are troubling us, Seokjin," Taeyang said playfully, trying to mask her concern as she too gave him a playful shove towards the door. "Just make sure you don't fall on your face outside," she added, hoping her lighthearted comment would remind Jin to be cautious.

"I won't let anything happen to my handsome face," Jin replied with a drunken grin, his confidence momentarily overpowering his intoxication. "Besides, I have my trusty bodyguards right here," he added, gesturing towards Jungkook and Taeyang, who both rolled their eyes but couldn't help but smile at Jin's antics.

"Such a charmer," Jungkook said, playfully nudging Jin's arm. Jin chuckled and leaned into the nudge, his drunkenness making him more receptive to their camaraderie. "Well, someone has to keep you all entertained," he quipped, his words slurring slightly as he stumbled forward, supported by his friends.

"Here we are; we have reached your home," Taeyang announced, guiding Jin towards the front door. Jin fumbled with his keys, struggling to unlock the door as his laughter echoed through the quiet street. "Ugh! I can't believe I'm this drunk," Jin groaned, finally managing to unlock the door and stumble inside with the help of his friends. "Thanks for getting me home, guys." Finally, with a triumphant click, the door swung open, revealing a cosy sanctuary awaiting their arrival. The warm glow of the living room lights and the familiar scent of Jin's favourite candle greeted them, instantly easing their fatigue.

"I will be leaving then," Taeyang said, breaking the comfortable silence. Jin looked up, surprised. "Wait, you're leaving already?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. Taeyang nodded. "You stay with him and make sure he gets settled in," Taeyang said to Jungkook, gesturing towards the drunken Seokjin slumped on the couch. Jungkook nodded in understanding. "Don't worry, I'll take care of him. Please take care and call me when you reach home, noona," he assured Taeyang. With a final pat on Jungkook's shoulder, Taeyang bid them farewell and left the room, leaving Jungkook with Seokjin.

Her mind is filled with Seokjin's words. He might be chief, but he has taken care of her like a brother would. He's the only one who truly understands her. Thinking about Jin, some flashes of past memories came rushing back to Taeyang.

Past flashes:

The rain is pouring down as a girl in her school uniform runs across the street, not for shelter but to save her life. Tears are streaming down her face, which are mixed with raindrops. She stumbles and falls, but she stands up and keeps running, her heart pounding in her chest. The sound of sirens filled the air, adding to her sense of urgency.

Her legs gave up, making her collapse onto the wet pavement. Gasping for breath, she desperately tried to push herself up, but her body refused to cooperate. Panic consumed her as she realised she couldn't escape. "Taeyang?" She heard a sweet yet concerned voice, which is familiar to her. She turned her head to see Seokjin, her senior, standing a few feet away with worry etched across his face. Relief washed over her as she realised she wasn't alone in this dangerous situation.

"Seo-Seokjin oppa," her voice trembled as she called out to him, tears streaming down her face. He can clearly see the fear and desperation in her eyes. Without hesitation, Seokjin rushed towards her, his protective instincts kicking in. "Don't worry, I'm here," he reassured her, gently reaching out to hold her trembling hand, which she pulled away in shock.

Seokjin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, wondering why she had reacted that way. He has been observing her for the past month and has noticed that she has been acting strangely and avoiding physical contact. He remembered her flinching when someone accidentally brushed against her in a crowded room.

"Taeyang-ah, why are you acting up like this?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. "You always say that I'm your favourite senior and your big brother, right? I'm just worried about you. Is there something going on that you want to talk about?" Seokjin's voice softened as he reached out to gently touch her arm, hoping to offer some comfort and reassurance.

This time too, Taeyang pulled away her hand, her eyes filled with fear. "Please, don't touch me," she whispered, her voice trembling. Seokjin's eyes instantly widened in surprise, and tears started to well up in Seokjin's eyes. They both might not have brother-and-sister relations in blood, but their bond was just as strong.

Even though Seokjin was transferred to Busan, she was the first to speak with his senior, who was so friendly and affectionate after Jimin and Taehyung, which was another story, and that connection had only grown stronger over time.

It broke his heart to see his sister in distress, especially when she specifically asked him not to touch her. Though he didn't give up trying to comfort her, he respected her boundaries and found other ways to show his support. "Let's go. You're drowning in this rain," he said, offering her his umbrella. Taeyang hesitated for a moment but eventually accepted it, grateful for her senior's understanding and care. As they walked together, the silence between them felt heavy, but it was a comforting kind of silence. They didn't need words to understand each other; their bond spoke volumes.

"Sorry, Oppa," she said softly, breaking the silence. "I didn't mean to pull away like that," she added, feeling a mix of guilt and relief as she finally voiced her apology. "It's okay," he replied gently, giving her a reassuring smile. "I understand that you needed some space. Just remember, I'm always here for you, no matter what." His words filled her with a sense of warmth and reassurance, reminding her that their friendship was strong enough to withstand any challenges they faced together.

"Seokjin, I don't want to stay here," Taeyang said, her voice trembling with a hint of desperation. "I need to leave this place and start fresh somewhere else." Seokjin looked at her with concern, realising the depth of her unhappiness.

He processed her words for a moment, understanding the weight of her decision."I understand, Taeyang," he replied gently. "But where will you be? You can't be alone," Seokjin said, concern etched across his face. "I don't know Seokjin; I don't want to stay here; this place is like hell, and the people around me are just toxic. I need to get away from all of this," Taeyang said, her eyes tearing up from crying.

Seokjin's heart sank as he saw the pain in Taeyang's eyes. He wanted to hold her and assure her that no one could harm her and that she was safe with him, which he couldn't do because of Taeyang. He doesn't know what made her like that. "Do you want to study in Seoul?" Seokjin asked, thinking at least a change of place could bring her back to her usual self. Taeyang was about to nod but stopped when she realised she had to convince her uncle to let her go. She knew it wouldn't be easy.

"Don't worry, I will convince your uncle to let you go." Seokjin reassured her, determination shining in his eyes. He understood the gravity of the situation and was willing to do whatever it took to make her dreams come true.

That's where it started. The journey to make her dreams a reality began. She changed her goal of becoming a painter to becoming a cop. After Jin's graduation, they both started working tirelessly to gather all the necessary information and resources for her to pursue a career in law enforcement. Together, they attended seminars, connected with professionals in the field, and even enrolled in self-defense classes to ensure she was fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

She became cold and determined, pushing herself to the limit both physically and mentally. Jin witnessed her transformation and admired her unwavering dedication. He knew that her journey to becoming a cop was not an easy one, but he believed in her strength and resilience.

After Seokjin became one of the chiefs of the Seoul crime branch, Taeyang became the second-in-command of the team and continued to excel in her role as a police officer. Her expertise and experience made her a valuable asset to the team, and she earned the respect of her colleagues. Taeyang's dedication and leadership skills were evident in every case they worked on together, solidifying her reputation as a trusted and capable law enforcement professional.

Taeyang sighed as memories of the past flashed through her mind. She had come a long way from her humble beginnings as a rookie officer, and the weight of her responsibilities sometimes felt overwhelming. If Seokjin was there to support her in getting to Seoul by convincing her uncle, she would have stayed in Busan, where she feels like hell. She just felt happy that Seokjin was with her throughout her journey as her big brother. Despite the challenges she faced, Taeyang knew that having Seokjin by her side made all the difference in the world.

She opened the door of her apartment and stepped inside, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. The familiar sight of her cosy living space brought a comforting sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of her demanding job. She kicked off her shoes and settled onto the couch. She let out a deep sigh. "You are so strong, Taeyang." "Not physically, but emotionally and mentally. I've seen you go through so much, and yet you always manage to stay positive and keep pushing forward." "Taeyang, you have to catch that bastard. You are the only one who's capable of catching him; why don't you understand that?" "If you can't overcome your past, you will always be haunted by it. You deserve to live a life free from the chains of your past, but you need to let go of your fears and trust yourself to move forward." Those words from Seokjin kept echoing in her mind. She knew that he was right, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and fear.

"Will I be able to be strong enough to overcome my past? Am I really that strong?" These questions lingered in her thoughts, causing her to doubt her own strength and resilience. She knew that she had to confront her past, but that thought is making her more about remembering them.

Memories of her past that she needed to confront were traumatic events from her childhood or teenage years. She had repressed the memories for years, but now they were resurfacing, haunting her dreams and causing anxiety attacks. The thought of reliving the pain and facing the truth terrified her, yet she knew that only by confronting her past could she truly heal and move forward with her life.

Tears started to flow from her eyes silently in the darkness as she sat alone in her room. The weight of her emotions became unbearable, and she realised that she couldn't continue avoiding her past any longer. Every night, it became a habit for her to push away the memories, but they always found a way to seep into her subconscious. It was as if her mind was begging for closure, urging her to finally confront the demons that had been haunting her for so long.

She curled into a small ball on the couch and allowed herself to fully embrace the pain and vulnerability that had been suppressed during the day. As tears continued to stream down her face, she slowly began feeling her lids grow heavier, making her fall into a deep, dreamless sleep. In her slumber, she hoped to find solace and perhaps even gain the strength to face her past head-on when she woke up.
