She was now forced to take it easy. But how could she? That day and her injury were reminders of her failures and short comings.

The only thing that could keep her serene at the moment was the scenery of the snow, fluttering down gently from the mid January winter skies. Her body wrapped warmly as her right knee was wrapped securely around a brace. A small smile crawled on her face as she watched her youngest sister, Kameko Koume, playing in the snow. She watched over her little sister today as she was sitting on a bench to rest her knee on it, her crutches on the side as she kept her eyes on Kameko.

The five year old girl was just enjoying herself as she jumped into piles and hills of snow, laughing without a care in the world. It made Erika laugh lightly, she remembered when Kameko was so small, when she couldn't walk or talk. Telling her how she would love her and her other little sister Etsuko forevermore, and she meant it. Both of her sisters meant the world to her, if it weren't for them, she would endure a world of loneliness and isolation.

"Eri! Eri!", Erika heard her nickname being called, she turned to the blonde little girl wrapped around a white winter jacket and white winter pants, she was covered all over to make sure she was bundled and all warm.

"Hello Kameko", Erika smiled softly as she saw her youngest sister running to her, "What did you bring your big sister?", she asked curiously as she noticed something in the four year olds hand.

A bright smile adorned the little girls face, "It's a heart made of snow!", Kameko answered her as she showed the heart of snow that she created with her tiny little gloved hands.

The snow heart was crooked, it didn't even look so much like a heart. But Erika appreciated it so much that her little sister was trying her best to make her feel better and happier, especially when she saw how much her loss and injured knee had impacted her negatively. She had seen her sister sad before, but never as much as this before.

A genuine smile with tears welling up in Erika's eyes graced her features. "Eri? Are you okay?", Kameko looked at her older sister in concern as she tilted her head.

Erika bent her body down slightly so she could balance herself, her hands gently and easily lifting her body up and embracing the little girl into a tight warm embrace. Kameko was initially confused, but she didn't really fight. She just hugged her sister back. Sure she was a sassy child but she cared about her sisters more.

"Thank you Kameko. I don't know what I would do without you and Etsuko. I love the both of you, I hope you know that"

Kameko laughed lightly as her cheerful smile never left her face. "Of course I know, so does Etsuko. And we do too. Your knee will get better". She was so cheerful, so sweet, despite her sassy exterior, the little girl had a heart full of kindness, just like her older sisters.

Erika pulled herself away and lifted Kameko off her body. "No go, go and play in the snow but not for too long. I don't want you to get sick".

The energetic four year old nodded her head in response, "Okay, just a little bit longer", and with that, she ran into the snowy playground, entering her winter wonderland to play in the snow, to craft little masterpieces of snow angels and art or to let her imagination rule the playground she had to herself.

Back at home, Erika and Kameko had just arrived and they were patiently for the other to return. Etsuko Kameko. She was the younger sister of Erika Koume, the second daughter of Yasuo Uyeno and Mayu Fujisaki before her passing, leaving Kameko as the youngest as the daughter of their father and stepmother, Misato Kuno.

They were currently residing with their adoptive mother, Rina Shiroko, who took them three months after Yasuo and Misato's passing. Rina not only watched Erika's potential talent in volleyball, but also finding out she and her sisters had no joke to go too, Rina despite bearing a tough exterior, couldn't leave the girls on their own. They needed a home and she gave it to them and they couldn't be more grateful, even if she was busy a lot of the times, since she left to coach her students for an important game she would always make sure her adoptive daughters were okay and tell them how much they meant to her.

Erika was sitting on the couch as she rested her right foot on a pillow as her knee, swollen from the injury two weeks ago, was resting soundly. The pain was bad when Erika had to walk but she would find a way to manage it, she had a very high level of tolerance to pain. She and Kameko were currently watching one of the semi classic Barbie movies, Princess Charm School.

Hearing the door click open, Erika turned her head curiously and saw her younger sister, Etsuko walk through the door. Her clothing covered in the powdery snow that she was too busy trying to shake off while she was also occupied in taking off her winter boots.

"Hey, welcome back. Did you have fun?", Erika asked her little sister Etsuko as she walked through the door as Kameko kept her eyes glued to the screen of the movie.

Etsuko was a year younger than Erika, the two had very strong resemblance such as their blonde hair and facial structure. But Etsuko's hair was slightly shorter than Erika's, Erika bared brown eyes while Etsuko had green eyes and slightly paler skin compared to her sister.

"Yeah, Kimiko and I were playing in the snow all day long. Then we watched Harry Potter and had hot chocolate together", Etsuko answered with a small smile as she sat down next to her sisters. Her hand gently ruffled Kameko's blonde hair similar to her own.

"Hey", Kameko laughed as she shook her head away from Etsuko's, making the younger girl chuckle softly.

"You guys are watching Princess Charm School?", the second sister asked as she turned her head to the screen, seeing the colorful animation come to life on the big screen in front of her.

"It's Erika's favorite one, so we decided to watch it", Kameko explained, she wasn't half wrong. It was one of Erika's favorite Barbie films, but her personal favorite movie was Princess Diaries, the first movie. However, she was happy to watch this movie with Kameko.

"Okay, hope you guys don't mind that I join in", Etsuko laid on the opposite of Kameko, while both older sisters were between the youngest, allowing both of their bodies to stretch out comfortably. Things had been tough for Erika, even after loss and her knee injury, but now she had her sisters and her adoptive mother with her. She knew she would be able to get through this.
