"UGH, I HATE WHEN YOU do all this for jax," tiana groans at the sight of clementine walking into the living room. she wears a black dress and black heels, tiana glancing over her from where she sits on the recliner with a box of goldfish in her hand.

"shut up, tiana." clementine rolls her eyes, shoving her phone into the small bag she's bringing with her.

"no," tiana huffs, giving her a judgmental look that clementine doesn't even bother with giving her attention to. "you're dressed up like some girl you would've made fun of a year ago."

clementine takes in a deep breath. the sound of knocking on the front door takes both of the sisters attention and clementine glances over at tiana. "bye, brat."

tiana narrows her eyes at her as she walks over to the door. "whatever, biatch."

clementine rolls her eyes at the fact that she's too young to even use correct swear words. she runs her hands over her dress to straighten a few wrinkles on it and then reaches for the door knob.

jax is revealed on the other side, dressed up in a fancy button up with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. ah, the flower apology.

she forces a smile at the sight. "hi, baby," he's quick to greet her once he notices her, stepping forward to kiss her cheek as she hides the way she practically shrivels up with disgust from the pet name. he hands the bouquet to her while he's close to her and she smiles at him, graciously taking them from his hand. "i'm sorry," he tells her once he's stepped back to his original place.

"it's okay," she responds, shooting him a grin before stepping inside to put the flowers away. she walks over to tiana and tiana groans at the sight. "put these in-"

"water?" tiana cuts her off as she aggressively snatches them from her hands, sick of this continuing routine they've got going on. "yeah, i know."

clementine rolls her eyes for the hundredth time tonight and makes her way back to her boyfriend.

"I JUST DON'T GET IT!" chris sighs loudly as he walks into the living room, lazily plopping down on the couch as nick and matt share a look.

"here we go," matt mumbles under his breath, sinking further into the couch cushion behind him.

"he literally made her leave the auditorium to cry and then she goes on a date with him?" chris questions, throwing his arms out dramatically. "if i pulled some shit like that when we were together, she would've rightfully told me off."

"guess you ruined her expectations in men," nick shrugs, not really caring. chris instantly looks over to him in offense. "what?" he exclaims from the look on his face. "if you never broke up with her, she wouldn't be settling for shitty guys."

chris groans, rubbing his hands over his face and sinking further into the couch. matt sighs. "i just don't know what to do!" he tells them, stress radiating off of his voice. "like i'm trying so hard. i don't know how to show her how much i actually regret it."

"i don't know," nick sighs. "shading her and her boyfriend on instagram yesterday probably wasn't the way to do it."

chris huffs. "it's not like she was gonna see it anyways."

matt glances between the two and speaks up, "i thought it was funny," he shares his opinion.

"thank you." chris smiles. the smile doesn't last long though, because he suddenly sits up and turns fully to where they sit across from his place on the couch. "but also, what the fuck?" he starts, making their eyebrows furrow. "why are you guys so weird when clem's around? you're like.. supposed to be helping me out!"

nick just stares blankly at him and matt takes in a breath, giving him a look. "chris..." he trails off for a moment. "we haven't spoken to the girl in months. i don't really know what you expect."

"yeah," nick pipes in to voice his agreement with matt. he crosses his arms over his chest. "you're acting like everything can go back to how it was before with a snap of your fingers and it just can't. like when you broke up with her, she basically broke up with us too," he tells him, continuing on once he gives him a weird look. "friendship wise," he clarifies.

chris goes silent for a bit before speaking again, now slightly quieter. "so what?" he questions. "you don't miss her at all?"

nick rolls his eyes. that's the dumbest question he's ever heard. in what world would he ever not miss his old best friend? "of course, chris," he tells him, voice trailing off.

matt looks to nick, sharing the same understanding they have about each others feelings on clementine. matt then looks to chris, growing hesitant. "but..." he finishes nicks thought. "she's different now."

"yeah, and it's my fault," chris shrugs, having come to terms with it by now. "don't blame her for it."

"chris," matt sighs.

"stop with the sighing!" chris suddenly exclaims, making their eyes widen for a moment before he calms back down. "i just..." he trails off, rubbing at the temples of his forehead. "i need to figure out how to show her i'm sorry."

nick and matt fall silent for a moment before nick speaks up, deciding to state the obvious. "well, tell her."

chris turns his head to glance at him. "tell her what?"

nick gives him a blank look. "that you're sorry?" he answers questionably since it should be any logical persons first thought. "duh."

"oh." chris blinks in surprise. he's a little slow though, so he opens his mouth again. "for what?"

matt and nick share a concerned look. how fucking dumb is he? "FOR DUMPING HER ON CHRISTMAS???" nick yells, raising his voice because he's honestly sick of chris' stupidity right now.

"OH." chris' own eyes widen and he suddenly slaps his hand over his mouth. after a couple second, he brings it down and speaks. "oh my god," he groans. "i never apologized."

"what?" matt sits up, giving him a surprised look. "you've been trying to get her back when you haven't even apologized for breaking up with her yet?"

chris holds his face in his hands, grumbling through his fingers, "i'm a fucking idiot."

"this is so embarrassing to watch," nick sighs, shaking his head to himself.

chris suddenly snaps his head up and looks to matt, matt just furrowing his eyebrows at him from the way he turned so quick. "matt," chris breathes. "i need you to grab your keys."

"what..."

"i have to tell her i'm sorry!" he exclaims, his voice almost a little pleading. nick's eyebrows raise and matt just let's out a breath.

"chris, it's 10am on a saturday," matt states.

"matt, i have to."

matt sighs deeply.
