In his eyes, she still shone like a star even though the sky was too dark that it almost swallowed her.

Not only the darkness of the sky.

The darkness of her social anxiety. Of her past.

But she still shone. Because she had hope. Her newfound hope was Taehyung who she liked and adored and felt safe around even though it was a short period since she knew him.

She still shone because she had happiness. Her circle of good friends were the happiness she worshipped, because, without them, she wouldn't be able to live.

After their dinner date, the two started walking outside in the park opposite the restaurant.

"Are you sure you aren't cold? I wish I didn't leave my suit jacket in the car, so you could wear it now." Taehyung wordily said as he looked at her bare arms.

"Taehyung... I am fine, how many times do I have to tell you?"

The two continued walking until they found some seats and sat down. Side by side, and their arms touched each other. Taehyung immediately cursed Jimin for forcing him to wear a suit, which means wearing a long sleeve shirt. Only if he had worn a T-shirt, now he would be able to feel her skin grazing his own.

Stupid ass! What are you thinking about?!

He cleared his throat and decided to break the silence and distract himself from her warmth which he felt.

And there was something else in his mind that he wanted to say as well, but didn't know how to.

Okay, it's not that difficult.

"Y/N, A likes B, B likes C, C likes D, E likes F and F likes I. But I don't like F, you wanna know why? Because I like U."

She blinked her eyes twice before getting what his purpose was. She looked at him for a while before he looked away with an awkward chuckle. Guess she didn't get what I said, but she already knows that I like her! I should ask her what I want.

"Sorry about that."

"Ah no, it's okay."

"Y/N. Will you be my girlfriend?"

The boy was internally shocked that he right away blurted out those words. But was proud anyway, he finally is going to be her boyfriend.

Y/N's boyfriend. Y/N's lover. Y/N's protector.

She knew he'd ask her that. Since he said go out with me, she knew what he wanted. It was the same thing she wanted as well.

A relationship with Taehyung.

"How many times have I crossed your mind?"

"Once." He answered. Not hesitating. Not regretting what he said. Making the girl join her eyebrows together, tilting her head as she looked at him.

I have crossed his mind once? She sadly thought. Then why was he asking her out if she had crossed his mind once? How did he even like her?

He smiled at her confused face and could sense the sadness that crossed her eyes. "You have crossed my mind once because you never really left it after that."

Her heart skipped a beat at his words. He will be the cause of my death. Not to mention his glowing face under the moonlight.

"Then, yes. I will be your girlfriend." She answered, a hue of pink dusting her cheeks as she shyly looked down at her thigh.

What happened the next minute was what she could call heaven.

He grabbed the back of her head and leaned her closer to himself, just to plant his lips on her rosy ones and kiss her with affection.

When he pulled away, a playful smile was on his lips as he looked at her.

"Congratulations on being the girlfriend of the one and only handsome Kim Taehyung." He dusted off the imaginary dust on his shoulders and stood up.

"As if you are handsome." She played along.

With an offended expression, he turned around. "Am I not? Then why did you agree on being my girlfriend?"

"Because I felt pity for you, you know you're single and all so..." She smirked.

The two fell into a pit of laughter then started walking to where Taehyung's car was.

Her thoughts went back to when she and Taehyung went to the grocery store back in their vacation. And how she told him that "Trusting you is my decision... Proving me right is your choice.".

He did prove her right, for real.

He proved that she can trust him. That she can depend on him. That she can be with him. He proved that he'll always be there for her. Anytime, anywhere.

She smiled at the thought of him. At the thought of them.

Seconds, minutes, hours, and days had passed and it became a month since Y/N and Taehyung were dating.

The group of friends were more than happy when they found out the two were in a relationship. Y/N was dating a boy. And the boy was Taehyung.

That was a dream come true for them.

The two had a few up and down in the first month of their relationship, but that was normal. Not only for them, for every couple.

They would fight, but it was okay. Because at the end of the day, they could not close their eyes to sleep knowing that they are not on good terms.

They would always fix the problem.

Haru being the dramatic little girl she is, refused the idea of bee with her father. Thinking that her father would keep her bee for himself.

But after hearing Taehyung saying that they -one day- will force Y/N to move in with them, the girl almost screamed out loud in happiness and excitement.

And that happened the first day of the second month of their relationship.

Haru would not stop jumping up and down seeing Y/N entering her house with Taehyung holding her bags behind her.

The little girl didn't know why she always was so happy whenever she was around Y/N. She always felt this kind of imaginary rope that tied her with the older female.

Whenever she looked at Y/N, all she could imagine was a strong and beautiful Queen on her throne.

Y/N was Haru's idol.

And what Taehyung could do was only watching them from afar, silently and secretly wipe tears of pity for them.

Life can be so unfair sometimes.
