~ Name ~

Blackfish, a name in which describes the predominant colouring of his pelt, but, is also a referral to the Native American name for Killer whales.

~ Breed ~

His dam was a sable thoroughbred who shared his unique markings, however, his sire is undetermined as he is the product of an accidental, arguably forced breeding that leads him to be labelled as an American Warmblood.

~ Gender ~

Blackfish was gelded in attempts to dampen his untimely temperament.

~ Age ~

He has only just come into maturity at two years; his youth partially being a reason for his unruliness and general disregard for his superiors, be it human or beast.

~ Appearance ~

Short-backed with sloping shoulders and robust, well-built quarters, Blackfish is wondrously built and is the ideal specimen to be entered into and excel in competitive sporting events, if it was not for his disputable attitude and later described stiff-neckedness. His coat, for the most part, is sleek and dark; gleaming gorgeously in and usually warm to the touch because of the sun's golden rays, in which it naturally absorbs. He is toned where he needs to be, his mane and tail dappled with streaks of almost skunk-like white, to which also affects his lower legs, where he obtains four even white socks and hooves that are often scuffed, as it is a habit of his to paw at the ground when irritated or merely bored, in order to either give a warning to whoever is bothering him, or, make a demand with an accompanying whinny.

~ Personality ~

A wild, engrossed spirit, Blackfish is overly proud and has the potential to develop into aggression if cornered, or if in the presence of an unknown, fellow equine. He is known to be temperamental and difficult, having an undeniable sense of stubbornness engrained into him, to which, when combined with his innate intelligence and patience when it comes to getting his own way, has gained him the reputation and nickname of 'the Devil's horse'. He's easily irritated and spooked, lacking true loyalty or faithfulness to anyone other than himself and his own desires, leading him to often be described as an iron-willed and especially unyielding creature of habit. He will not, or at least has not as of yet, been pressured into something he does not deem worthy of him, or, that he merely does not want to do; the threat of and even the striking of a whip to his quarters seemingly only being effective to further rile him up. Overall, he's a young, rather inexperienced beauty with an undecided, due to his behaviour issues, future before him.

~ Height ~

Blackfish is not the tallest in his breed's category, however, maintains a respectable stature of 15.8 hands, or, in other words, around a hundred and sixty centimetres.

~ Weight ~

He's healthy at a mass of just over a thousand pounds; evenly distributed across his body as muscle and, where it needs to be, fat.

~ Likes ~

Blackfish, although he is rarely treated nor rewarded due to his misbehaviour, genuinely enjoys being turned out into a paddock to run and frolic freely. He is a natural jumper like his mother before him and has an inbred passion for it, along with, upon being observed, the talent for it that would put Grand Prix champions to shame. He is boastful and prideful, adoring to show off the skill that he has without a rider to any passerby, by bounding over the courses within his paddock and even, occasionally, when he is feeling particularly rebellious, the paddock fence itself.

~ Dislikes ~

As already mentioned and described, Blackfish despises not being in control or not getting his own way in matters ranging from the feed he is given to the rider attempting to mount him. He is adamant on being 'untameable' and 'wild'; a frightening beast kicking at his stable door and throwing his head at the youth on their way past him to their plucky ponies. He would hate to be seen as delicate and would either prefer to be seen as a challenge, so he may strike down those desiring to dominate him, or, simply, a daunting, wild animal to stay far away from.
