New Jersey Needs

I came up with this idea in class and I love it. Jeremy and Micheal are in college or something

~Micheal's P.O.V~

The sky is darkening above my head, causing orange flames to creep behind buildings before fading into the dark. I teeter along the empty sidewalk. The roads are surpassingly empty for half eight at night. Not a single car or bike passes me as I make my way to my boyfriends apartment.

Lights begin to shut off behind windows. Stores are closed or closing. The streetlamps are dim. But at the end of the street, a literal beacon of light.
The painted sign reads New Jersey Needs.

The building is tall, like all the surrounding buildings but the store itself only takes up about a third of the height. The store is located at the corner of a T-junction, the door at the very corner, the two doors coming together in a point. Windows stretch from the doors all the way to the end of the store. And with the lights at full blast, it beckons me closer.

As I get closer, the chipped red paint and shiny tiled floor greets me. I pull open the door, and a small gold bell rings above me.

A head peeks up over the short aisles.
"Hey Micheal!"

"Hey Chrissy" I swagger over to the counter to my friend.

New Jersey Needs is like a mini grocery store. It has the essentials: milk, newspapers, cereal, condoms, whatever. It's been open forever, and could defiantly use another paint job. Every summer, Christine takes it upon herself to give the whole exterior a new lick of paint.
Christine doesn't own the store, but she's been working here forever. The owner is her uncle or something, and she's allowed keep the place looking sheik. Shes been my friend since high school, and I love her to bits. Also she sometimes gives me discounts which is cool.

"You heere to see Jeremy?" She asks, propping her elbows on the counter.

I lean against it with a shrug.
"Can a guy not just give his best friend a visit?"

Christine raises an eyebrow with a grin.
"Oh ya. That's toooootallly why you're here"

Something behind me catches her eye, causing her to straighten up. She slaps my arm and points outside the door. I turn around to see a delivery boy. He has blonde hair with a red streak, matching with his red uniform.
He's holding a large pizza box and his phone. He looks around widely, clearing hopelessly lost.

"We got a newbie, huh?" I smile.

Christine giggles, waving her hand over her head to beckon the boy in. He hesitates, before entering the store.

"Sorry. I'm just looking to deliver this pizza and it says to deliver it to this address.." he says, confused.

Chrissy nods.
"That'd be Jeremy. You're new?"

He looks taken aback.
"How did you know?"

"Jeremy lives above the store. He gets his food delivered down here so he doesn't have to collect it. He orders from the same place nearly every night. We know all the employees"
Christine offers her hand with a large smile.
"Welcome to the family......Rich!" She reads off his name tag.

Rich smiles, taking her hand and shaking it.

"I'm Micheal" I say.

"So I'll be seeing a lot of you guys?" Rich says.

"Yup. Tooonneess. Well, more me then Micheal. Cause ya know I work here and Micheals usually spends his time upstairs with his boyfriend"

Though I've been dating Jeremy for a while now, I still get nervous whenever we're public. Homophobes are like a cancer. You never know when they'll pop up. All the other delivery people are cool with it, but this new guy, who knows.

Rich defiantly notices my not too subtle fear, and quickly reassures me.
"Oh don't think I'm homophobic! I only have this job because my own boyfriend hooked me up"

Christine nearly claps her hands with glee.
"Which ones your boyfriend"

"Jake" rich says sheepishly, his face turning pink.

"Rich and Jake are the new OTP. Micheal ans Jeremy don't stand a chance" Christine teases.

"Speaking of Jeremy, I should probably bring this pizza up to him before he has a fit" I take the large box from Rich's hands, exchanging nods.

Chrissy yells a goodbye as I rejoin the chill night air. Yup. My boyfriend lives over New Jersey Needs. I walk along the side of the store, stopping outside a red door that blends in with the store front.
I click the buzzer next to the scrawled writing of Heere.

"Who is it?" A voice buzzed at me through the box.

"Jeremy Heere prepare to be queer" I remark, smirking.

The door buzzes, signifying that it's unlocked. I push my way in, taking the staircase in the right. There are two apartments above the store. One is my boyfriends, and the other belongs to this kid Evan who I see every now and again. im up the first flight of stairs, greeted with a door with the number 2.

Ha. Player 2.

I don't bother knock on the door. I just barge my way into the apartment and kick the door closed behind me. His apartment it small, with only room for a living room, one bedroom, a bathroom and a tiny kitchen. But its perfect. It's Jeremy's home. And therefor, it is my home.
"OOOH JEREMYY!" I call.

Jeremy appears from the living room, his face lighting up. He's sporting a purple t-shirt that reads, What'd I Miss? It's too big on him, making him go small and adorable.
"Oh baby you have no idea how much I wanted to see you!"

Color creeps into my cheeks. I smirk as Jeremy makes his way towards me. His eyes sparkle, before he grabs the pizza box out of my hands.

"I love you so much" he coos to the cardboard box, making fake smooching noises as he leaves me to go to the kitchen.

I roll my eyes, totally neglected. I follow Jeremy into the cupboard sized kitchen, leaning against the doorless door frame.

"Hi. I'm Micheal. Your boyfriend. Show me love and affection" I say, as Jeremy grabs two glasses and a bottle of coke.

He laughs, shaking his head. He places the glasses on the counter, before turning to me and giving me a very quick peck.
"Hey Micha" he says gently.

"Hey Jer" I smile, kissing him again.

My hands find his hips, but he pushes me off.
"Nope. Pizza first"

I groan loudly as he takes the food to the living room.
"But jeremyyyyy~" I flop down on the couch, taking up all the space. "I want a kisssssss. I came alllll this wayyyyy"

"Cry me a River" he plopped himself down on top of my legs, causing me to yelp and move out of the way.

I lay my back against the couch with my feet on the coffee table. Jeremy snuggles up under my arm, crossing his feet on top of mine. The pizza box spread across both of our laps, sending waves of pepperoni goodness into our nostrils.
My boyfriend grabs the remote, and opens Netflix on the large TV.

"Riverdale finale" he breaths, eyes full of wonder.

I groan. "Duudeeee Riverdale suuuucks"

He elbows me playfully in the ribs.
"Jughead Jones is my soulmate and no one can change my mind"

I pretend to be hurt.
"But.....I thought.....I was your soulmate"

He pulls a face at me, before rolling his eyes.
"Regardless, we're watching the finale"
He clicks on the title card, and the episode loads up.

"Jeremy" I whisper in his ear.

"Hmmm?"

"I love you"

"I know"

"You're supposed to say it back"

"It back"

"ALRIGHT YOU LITTLE SHIT!"
I jump on top of him, making him squeal. I pin the boy down on the couch, my hands either side of his face. Our noses nearly touching as I look deep in his eyes.
Our intense staring is only broken by Jeremy's giggle. And holy fuck does he have the cutest giggle in the world.

I smile, before leaning down and kissing him sweetly. Jeremy's hands find the back of my neck, trying to pull me closer and deepen the kiss, but i pull away with a shit eating grin.

"We don't want to miss the Riverdale finale!" I say, sitting back up to my original position.

Jeremy whines, slowly getting up and snuggling back into my arm.
"You're a fucking tease Micheal"

I grab a slice of pizza and take a big bite.
"Karmas a bitch"
