■Kuguri's POV■

I put on my shoes and wait in the doorway. I look back and sees at the other end of the hallways Y/N is walking my way.

Y/N: I'm sorry... found my phone on the kitchen counter...

Kuguri: it's okay... you're ready?

Y/N nods her head right after putting in her shoes. I open the door and let her walk out first, then I lock it and we walk to my car.

Another month has passed, Y/N and I have been married for 2 months by now. It's Saturday evening and we decided to eat at Yamato san's restaurant.

Yamato san told Y/N to not come to work every weekend and spend time with me at home, but today we decided to come as a customer, that way Yamato san won't nag at us.

I park the car not far from the store and we walk on foot for two minutes. I open the door and let Y/N in before following suit.

Uno: Welco- oh my? Y/N chan, Nao chan...

Yamato: huh? Why are you here? It's weekend

Yamato san glares at Y/N and I.

Y/N: I uh... we want to eat here Uncle...

Kuguri: yes, we found out that we run out of ingredients this afternoon... so we thought it's nice to come as a customer...

Yamato san calmed down and walk back to the counter.

Yamato: well, what would you like?

Y/N and I look at each other and laughs seeing how funny her uncle is before ordering.

We sit on the stools at the counter, Y/N watches as her uncle and cousin move. For Y/N her uncle, cousins, and grandfather are her family.

Yamato: here, dig up~

Y/N: thank you uncle

Kuguri: thank you Yamato san...

Y/N and I eat our noodles and after that just like what Yamato san guess as we talked, Y/N brings the dirty bowls on her own and helps out in the kitchen.

Yamato: that girl.... she needs to enjoy her time too rather than stick in here...

I watch as Y/N and Uno nee are in the kitchen, Kento right next to them.

Kuguri: but I think, she enjoys it the more when she's here... she can meet with her family and all...

Yamato: what are you talking about?

I look at Yamato san who stares at me.

Yamato: you are her family too, you're her husband...

Dub Dub

Husband... family... but this marriage...

Yamato san sighs and I look at him. He takes off his apron and walks out of the counter. He stands next to me and wraps an arm on my shoulder.

Yamato: Y/N, let me borrow him to accompany buy a cigarette...

Huh?

Kento: what? You used to tell me to go, dad..

Y/N comes from the kitchen and she stares at me, I just nod at her to let her know that I'm fine with going with Yamato san. Somehow I feel that he wants to say something to me.

■3rd Person POV■

Kuguri and Yamato walk to a park not far from the restaurant. Yamato sits on the bench and lights up a cigar that he has inside his pocket.

Kuguri watches as Yamato offers him and shook his head no because he doesn't smoke.

Yamato: you... I actually want to ask you this from months ago, but couldn't find the right time...

Yamato blows on the smoke and looks at Kuguri, making the younger man nervous.

Yamato: you two never actually tell us about why you broke up and... why did you suddenly propose... did you guys keep in touch? But, I can't get rid of the thought that you two just met again after a long time that day...

Kuguri's heart is beating faster, a bead of sweat rolls down his temple and he clenches his hands. How they broke up, and how he just decided to propose to her, they're actually something that Kuguri wants to keep from Y/N's family. But, something in him tells him to let Yamato knows.

Kuguri: I... we broke up... because I was being immature and... I hurt her...

Yamato's eyes widened when he hears Kuguri talk. Kuguri speaks, eyes on the ground, scenes from those hurtful days come to his mind.

Kuguri: I, didn't trust her and... breaking up with her...

Kuguri tells Yamato about what happen back in Nohebi. About how Y/N cries because of him up till when he finally learned the truth and regret what he did.

Yamato: So you didn't break up because I took her in and made her move to another school?

Kuguri shook his head no.

Yamato: then... that day, it's really was the day you met her again after years of parting?

Kuguri: yes...

Yamato puts his cigar in the bin and stands up. He walks closer to Kuguri and now the two are face to face.

Yamato: then... why did you ended up proposing to a girl who you've hurt and never talk to?

Kuguri flinches when he hears this and looks up into Yamato's eyes that stare at him. The answer to that was about the deal but he's afraid to tell Yamato.

Yamato: tell me... though I'm only her uncle... I... I'm her father at heart...

Kuguri sees the gentleness in Yamato's eyes when he thinks about Y/N. Kuguri stands straight and decided to tell Yamato.

Kuguri: it was all started with a deal...

Kuguri tells Yamato about the deal, about how he wanted to help Y/N because she looks troubled by Yamato telling her to get married.

Yamato: so... it was all for that... you guys-

Kuguri: but that's not all.... I... was pissed when you asked her to marry one of your customers...

Yamato's eyes widened. Kuguri looks at the ring on his finger. The silver band Y/N and he exchanged at their wedding.

Kuguri: I... after we broke up, I couldn't find someone to replace her... I can't forget Y/N... that's why that day... I decided to do this...

Yamato listens to Kuguri, the younger man talk while staring at his finger with tender eyes.

Kuguri: though on our deal I stated that we can divorce if Y/N wanted to... I... I don't want that to happen... I want us to stick together... this time... forever...

Kuguri looks at Yamato in the eyes.

Kuguri: I... love Y/N, sir... I really do... if she doesn't feel the same... I will try to make her fall in love with me...

There's a brief silence after Kuguri says that. Yamato puts his hands inside his pocket and walks past Kuguri.

Yamato: well that's... not something you should say to me...

Kuguri was surprised when he hears this, he looks back to see Yamato has walked away.

Yamato: but boy, I'm sure about one thing...

Yamato stops and looks up at the sky. The face Y/N made earlier when she eats next to Kuguri, and how she would steal a glance at her husband with flushed cheeks, Yamato knows exactly how her niece's feeling.

Yamato: you don't need to try hard about making her love you...

Yamato starts walking again, leaving Kuguri who's still stunned.

Yamato: oi hurry up, or the kids will think that I'm tryna kill you and bury your body somewhere far...

Kuguri: ah... yes sir...

Kuguri walks fast, keeping up with Yamato, and now walks next to him.

Yamato: it's uncle to you... you're Y/N's husband after all...

Kuguri was startled but he hums a yes, feeling warm inside. The two arrive at the restaurant and Y/N approaches Kuguri right away.

Y/N: Naoyasu san... where were you? Uncle?

Kuguri sees the woman in front of him, the woman he loves. He shook his head no.

Kuguri: a nearby convenience store... then he smoked...

Kuguri remembers what Yamato says and he wants to do something.

■Y/N's POV■

Naoyasu san and I are now walking to his car. We helped uncle and the other to close the store before deciding to go home.

We get inside and Naoyasu san starts the engine.

Where did Naoyasu san and Uncle go to earlier?

I was wondering in my thought that I don't realize that I haven't fastened my seat belt until.

Click!

I was snapped of my mind and sees Naoyasu san's face so close to mine.

Y/N: N-Naoyasu san?

Naoyasu san sits back on his seat and puts on the seat belt.

Kuguri: you were zoning out...

He helped me put on my seat belt. His face is so close, though we have been sleeping in the same room for a month, seeing him so close is still not easy for me.

Naoyasu san drives us back and though we are not talking, I feel comfortable when I'm around him.

Will this last?

Just then.

Kuguri: Y/N...

Y/N: yes?

I look at Naoyasu san who's focused on the road.

Naoyasu: tomorrow, let's go out... let's go on a date...

Date?

My face grew warm and I'm sure I'm rivaling a tomato by now. My heart was racing too.

Y/N: d-date?

Kuguri: yes... a date between husband and wife is normal to do...

But... we are... married because of the deal...

Y/N: w-why do you want to go Naoyasu san?

Kuguri: nothing... I just follow my heart and wants to spend the weekend with you, outside of the apartment area.

These two months being with him, I can't help but see how kind he is. I too, want to spend more time with him, because, we could be apart anytime.

Y/N: I... want to...

I really do...

Naoyasu san looks at me and smiles.

Naoyasu: alright... thank you...

Why would you thank me?

We arrived at home and then clean ourselves before going to our bedroom. Naoyasu san lays on his side and I'm on mine.

Been a month since we sleep in the same room. I'm growing attached to him already. Seeing his face before I sleep, and looking at them as the sunshine.

Kuguri: good night Y/N... Sweet dream...

Y/N: yes... you too..

When the time comes...

I don't think I'm gonna be ready...

To part with him...
