To an adventure, part 2.
A/n: I found out that I write better when I read fanfics.
3rd Point of View
It's weird.
That's what Tsuna thought upon opening her eyes, the dull colored ceiling greeted her, not like the usual pristine light color.
The night passed without mishaps, the two men did a good job surveying the house, Tsuna barely moved from her spot on the bed, normally even the slightest sound wakes her up.
She never slept so soundly before.
Maybe because her right-hand woman is beside her.
Speaking of the woman, Tsuna spots the woman beside the window, opened so she assumed those phantoms are gone by now. Hayano looks out the glass, a cancer stick between her dexterous fingers. One of the windows is opened, letting the nose-stinging smell out of the room.
Tsuna shuffled to a sitting position, a hand though her long tresses, combing away some knots that magically appeared. Blurry eyes trained on Hayano who looks back with a small smile, her shoulders shifted and there's barely a grimace on her face when they moved.
Seems like Hayano's shoulders are almost healed. She must've healed it as soon as she woke up.
"Good morning." Tsuna laid back down and stretched, a whimper escaping her closed mouth when all her limps are stretched. Hayano jabbed the cigarette out of the window and threw it away. She walks to Tsuna's side and sits by her.
"Good morning, Decima." Hayano greets back. Tsuna shifts to her and smiled, "Your shoulder is healed." she comments. Hayano smiles a bit, nodding. "It wasn't damaged that badly. I just fell off a little cliff."
"J-just-" Tsuna choked a yelp. "Of course, you would consider falling of a cliff is a minimum incident."
Hayano tilts her head, genuine confusion in her jade eyes, "It's not?"
Tsuna only smiled, gazing at her with a fond look, finding her ,sometimes infuriating, obliviousness endearing. Just as she opens her mouth, shouting from the living room attracted her attention.
Hayano appeared to be nonchalant, the shouting must have been going for a while if she's not affected by it anymore.
"What happened?" Tsuna frowns in concern, pushing herself back to a sitting position.
Hayano sighs, a comical suffering look on her face, "It's Kyomi."
Living Room.
Asari and Alaude stands awkwardly in the sidelines while Takemi and Kyomi exchanges vicious glares, Takemi is sitting, upright and proper while Kyomi is itching towards the door.
"Hibari Kyomi, take one more step and I will force myself to stop you." Takemi's usual soft voice is stern and a bit frightening, she's pissed, at the least the men know this.
Kyomi remained defiant on her spot, hands twitched while crossing her arms below her chest, "If we don't discover about them now, there will be disaster, Yamamoto Takemi. Let me go-"
"What do you think Tsuna will react about this? You know her. If she ever hears-"
"Hear what?" said woman appears by the door, Hayano behind her, looking at them.
Kyomi and Takemi both looks at her before avoiding her eyes, Kyomi looking to the side while Takemi looks down at her lap, at her tightly clenched fists.
The atmosphere is silent and thick, Asari sweats while Alaude admits to himself that the room, at the moment, is stifling. But the men remained on their spots.
Tsuna looks at Takemi then at Kyomi. Trying to decipher what is happening.
"Hayano told me that you've been like these for half an hour now, what do you think you're doing? You're bothering the owner of this house." indeed, just as they pass the kitchen, Tsuna sees the man, on the stove, looking at the small moka pot with uneasiness.
Tsuna pleads for the kind man to go upstairs, stating that she'll deal with this herself.
Her voice was soft, reprimanding but she's not angry, she's just exasperated.
"The least we could do is inconvenience him but we failed. So tell me." she completely steps into the living room, letting out a small amount of her authoritative aura. "I will count to three and if you don't tell me by then, you know what will happen."
Takemi grimaced as a bad memory (in an embarrassing kind of bad) resurfaced, she palmed her face and avoided the girl's gazes. Being a victim of Tsuna's punishment, she knows how intense they were.
Baby Shark on loop for 10 hours...ugh, what a nightmare.
Kyomi is still defiant. "You cannot do your punishment here, Tsunahime." she reminds. Tsuna remained unperturbed and shoots Kyomi a close-eyed smile, "What made you think my punishment only involved those things? I have many ways to punish you." she laughs.
A shiver runs down all their spine (yes even Asari and Alaude), while she laughs, Hayano eyes her boss with slight uneasiness before looking at Kyomi, "Tell her before you regret it. It's better than facing her penalization." she hissed.
"Tell her yourself." Kyomi hissed back. Before Hayano could retaliate, because as if she's going to lose, Tsuna smoothly intervened, crossing her arms over her chest and jutting her hips to the side, looking at Kyomi with a raised eyebrow. "I want to hear it from you, only, Kyomi."
Kyomi clicks her tongue and sighs, brushing her bangs roughly.
Her silvery eyes connected with Tsuna's stern honey colored ones and looks away again, lips pursed but posture defeated.
"I want to follow those phantoms."
The answer is pretty immediate.
"Okay."
And Takemi wasted no time, adding her comment. "See!? I told you Tsuna won't- wait WHAT!?" Tsuna ignored Takemi's yell and looks at Kyomi's who's also lightly befuddled by her consent. She sighs and looks outside the opened door.
"These phantoms have been killing too many people and we can't let them do that anymore. The more we discovered about these beings, the sooner we can find a way to stop them. Kyomi do you have any intel?"
Kyomi shakes away the initial shock and nods, "Early today, around 2 a.m they retreated to the same direction as last time. I asked the man-" Kyomi looks at Alaude who instantly got the memo.
"Matteo." he supplies the name of the man who owns the house.
Kyomi nods in thanks.
"Matteo, where that direction is headed and he said about a nearby town called Grimaldi, a few miles away from here. Lately, people from that town doesn't come here anymore-"
"And coincidently, my men stopped responding to my letters. Something has happened there." Alaude's intervention gained him a scathing glare from the woman that interested him.
Because no one interrupts Hibari Kyomi.
"You-"
"Then it's decided, Kyomi and I will go investigate, the rest will return to the mansion, if it's okay to Asari-san and Signor Alaude."
Asari nodded at her reassuringly while Takemi is vehemently against it, so is Kyomi and Hayano.
"Decima, you have to be kidding me- you can't-"
"Tsuna! Don't exempt me from this, I'm going with-"
"Tsunahime, I'm going al-"
"We can't lose you, Decima! Reborn and the others-"
"This is why I didn't want to tell you-"
"Tsuna, let me come. I can't let you go alon-"
"Stop."
Asari resisted a yelp, resulting into a choke. One word and the pandemonium diminished.
'Are all mafia bosses like this?' Asari couldn't help but be morbidly fascinated by how much control one person could have. Alaude, without a doubt, also felt that minute surge of power from the petite brunette, which is very impressive since it's Alaude.
"Takemi, you won't be coming with us, you're still injured. You too, Hayano. Your shoulder may be functioning well, but I don't want it to act up again. It's better for you to go with Takemi." Tsuna says, much to their dismay. Hayano, not giving up, steps forward with a determined frown.
"Decima, please let me come with you. I promise you, my shoulder isn't acting up anymore, it's pretty much healed. Please, let me come with you." ah, here we have a rare footage of a Hayano pleading. Such rarity, only to be seen once in a blue moon, or every few months.
"Me too, Hayano, come here and heal me-"
"Fuck no."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'NO'!?"
"Takemi, calm down." Asari intervenes and puts a hand on her shoulder when Takemi is about to stand up. Hayano raised an eyebrow at the hand before giving Takemi the same look that Kyomi gave her last night.
The Rain guardian of the Decima huffs.
"Healing you is useless if you die in the end, it's better if you return to the mansion. Kyomi is not injured, so she has a higher possibility of surviving, Hayano, you know why-"
"As your right-hand woman, it is my duty to stay by your side to secure your safety Decima, please don't leave me behind."
"Hayano-"
"Please!" Hayano pleads, if she was 10 years younger, she wouldn't have asked for her boss' permission, doing what she deems is right, but as the years passed, the more she witnessed, the more she became wary of everything. And just as her Decima gets stronger and stronger after every session with Reborn, she slowly realized that maybe there are times when her boss doesn't need her help at all.
But this being...
It has such an eerie aura that Hayano couldn't help but shiver every time she thinks about it-them.
She can't lose her now.
Not on her watch.
Tsuna, on the other hand, sighs inaudibly and looks as helpless as a Mafia Donna could be. Takemi sees her hesitation, maybe she's still keen on rejecting Hayano.
In the end, Hayano ended up going with them, alongside Alaude who, non-verbally, decided to follow them too.
Some of the braver town people came out, a bit relieved upon seeing one of the vigilantes who worked to protect them. Alaude took the task to talk to them, convincing them to give them horses so that the investigation would take less. They all readily agreed.
Kyomi has a grimace on her face, apparently she doesn't like horses, much less ride them but she doesn't have a choice.
"Kyomi, stop frowning." Tsuna didn't even have to turn around to see Kyomi's expression, she just knows that the woman is frowning. "I know you don't like horse but bear with it please."
She hears a soft huff and nothing happened throughout the journey to Grimaldi.
A/n: The lack of humor appales me but this is a sewious situation so~ Maybe the next chapters will be lighthearted, who knows.
