A Misty Being

A/n: Let's spice it up while a bit of angst :3.

Also, just as Bermuda said in the Kenopsia Chapter, the time flow is vastly different. The time flow may vary, it may be faster in the future and slower in the past and vice versa.

And for the sake of my SANITY, the flow will get better soon.

3rd Point of View

The journey to the town was peaceful and pleasant, the two women have come to know that Asari is a good storyteller, telling tidbits about his vigilant group.

Tsuna mostly listens while Takemi, who's very interested, sometimes intervenes, telling her own tales, as Decima clearly sees that the two are becoming close.

Too close for her liking.

Looking outside the window, Tsuna mentally notes to talk to Takemi later.

As her friend, Tsuna's duty is to protect her friends from any kind of harm, be it emotionally and physically. Remembering their position now, Tsuna came to realize that she shouldn't have let the first generation too close to her and consequently Takemi.

She shouldn't let herself grow attach to Giotto.

Because she knows that one day they will have to say goodbye, whether they like it or not.

The town was as vibrant as the last time Tsuna has seen it, but this time, there were barely any people around, making it look like it's a ghost town.

Takemi blinks, looking around along with Tsuna, hands crossed over her chest while clutching her cape, "It's unnaturally deserted. I thought this is a lively place." she comments, remembering Tsuna's stories.

Asari hums, agreeing, his sharp eyes analyzing everything, he took note of the close windows and open yet empty shops, the daily mercato is deprived of fresh vegetables and fruits- it's like everyone is hiding.

But from what?

"Umm, Asari-san?" at the mention of his name, Asari looks to the side, to Takemi who's tugging on his big sleeves.

"Yes Takemi?" Takemi didn't look at him, instead she's staring at a direction to which he also stared, eyes widening.

"Isn't that...uh... A...Alaude?" Takemi feigned ignorance, seeing as she never met the platinum blonde man before, it would've been suspicious if she recognizes him instantly.

"Ah, you're right." Asari waves at the man who's jumping from rooftop to rooftop, silent as a mouse but a gaze dangerous as a carnivore. "Alaude." Asari nodded at the man who returned the motion, his ice blue eyes slid to the brunette who's frowning.

"What are you doing here." the man demanded, Asari continued smiling, "They wanted to go to town so I tag along, what is going on here, Alaude?" the Japanese man motioned to the empty town.

Alaude looks back at him, "Lately there has been unexplained deaths around the town. Bodies were found dead during the night, I had one of my subordinates to perform autopsy but the bodies were too cold it caused their hands to get frostbite." he explains, by now, all three were listening to him.

"Many witnesses say they can't explain what they saw, they're too traumatized. No reasonable explanation has been devised and I prefer to take this alone before it gets too serious so no words to Giotto until then." he finished that with a glare, Asari responded with a sigh. As the two conversed, Tsuna initiated one with Takemi.

"Do you see them as well?" she whispers, eyes fleeting to the corners where suspicious shadows are moving. Takemi's body stiffens, grimacing at the numb pain on her arms, she nods discreetly, "The movements are too erratic."

True to her word, the shadows in the darkest parts of the town are moving too erratically for their liking as if they're alive.

Ever since they arrived in the town, Takemi has been feeling as if she's being stared at, no malice whatsoever. Whatever it was, Takemi, with her hitman sense, deemed it very dangerous.

She grabs Tsuna by the hand and pulls her near them, at the moment they are in the middle of the Piazza, the large spacious area is deprived of what makes it lively, making it look eerie and desolated. The two women sits on the chairs of the café nearby while the men converse on another table.

"This doesn't sit well in my stomach." Takemi whispers, Tsuna rubbed her temple, as a migraine is coming. On the corner of her eyes, Tsuna sees Asari walking to them with Alaude waiting from afar.

Asari smiles apologetically, "I'm sorry ladies but seems like we have to go back, it's not safe at the moment." Tsuna and Takemi nod in understanding and they stand up, Tsuna helping Takemi in the process.

"Alaude-san will come with us?" Tsuna asks Asari silently as they leave the Piazza, Asari shakes his head, "He said he wants to investigate mor-"

"HIDE!" a high pitch yell cuts through the silence and suddenly Tsuna and Alaude were tackled in two separate alleys. Asari reacted faster and hooks an arm around Takemi's waist and pulls her to a (thankfully opened) door, shutting the door closed with his back, while spooking the owner of the house.

"Signor Ugetsu!" the man shouts in relief and a bit of fear. Asari pressed a finger to his lips and motioned for him to stay quiet.

Takemi thrashed in his hold, "Tsuna-!" Asari tightened his pseudo-hug on the ravenette. "Stay silent."

With Alaude.

Alaude is livid.

Today is not his day, with unexplainable deaths happening right under his nose, failed investigations and useless autopsy, now this?

All he wants to do now is to bash this person who dares to tackle him, pinning him like an herbivore. Reaching for his pockets, he pulls out his handcuffs, but the tight alley makes it harder for him to do so. And then, the person pinning him against the wall (uncomfortably so because now his knees are bent) moved, they pressed their knee on his forearm, stopping his movement, his other hand is grabbed and pinned by the side of his head.

And now he's caged.

And frankly saying, he doesn't like it when he's caged.

He turns his head, to snarl at the person, maybe even cussed, but the person saw it coming and covered his mouth, avoiding his nose so he could breathe.

Alaude thrashed, but the perpetrator pressed their body against his to stop him.

He fucking stopped, body tensed as his mind is slowly clearing. He started analyzing the person.

The difference between their body is obvious, he could easily tower the person but the latter possesses crazy body strength that he can barely  move. There's also the difference between their skin, the hand that is pinning his wrist is slender and soft.

And there's the chest pressed against his.

Holy shit, he's being pinned by a woman.

Just then, the sun shifted, the sun is setting, illuminating the dark alley with its natural light, the ray of the sun hits the person and Alaude's eyes widened unconsciously.

Because there, semi-straddling him is the fiercest woman with the most intimidating gray eyes he has ever seen, glaring at him.

"Don't move." she hissed.

With Tsuna.

Tsuna couldn't believe her luck.

Or bad luck.

She doesn't know whether to cry or to be angry with the person who's currently pinning her against the wall. Who dares impersonate-

Her lips wobbled.

"...Hayano?"

Said woman looks back with a soft look, her delicate face has a small plaster on her jaw, her lips were pale pink and eyes a bit tired, "I'm sorry that I'm late, Decima." she whispers. Tsuna whimpers and her posture slacked. "You dummy, don't you apologize." she whines, a sleeve pressing over her eyes.

Hayano chuckled and pulls her boss to a sitting position, motioning for her to stay silent, she peeks her head out of the alley.

Tsuna sits back, letting Hayano do whatever she needs to do, waiting in suspense.

"Hayano, what is going on? Do you know anything?" she asks in a low voice.

Hayano pulls her head back, pressing her back firmly against the wall, just in time for a figure to pass by. Tsuna eyes widened as she sees the figure clearly.

Its appearance shakes her core.

A humanoid apparition, translucent and misty.

"Oh my gods..."
