Chapter 20: Tea Set on Tatami

"Please, sit Mitsue-kun. I'll get some tea."

A colourful assortment of flowers lined the walls. No furniture...

The strong scent of flowers and herbs hung in the air.

The tatami mats were well-worn. I could feel the fraying

between my fingers. The old man returned with two mugs.

"So how can I help you Mitsue-kun?" He asked.

"Can you tell me a little more about Ishikawa-san?"

"Hina is a very troubled girl. Her father being American,

and her mother being Japanese, her life has been difficult.

Her mother left when she was young, leaving her with her

father. She spent most of her life in the United States."

"But, why was she here? "

The old man smiled. "This is her mother's home town."
