NICOLE'S HOME
january 5, 2024
beverly hills, ca 5:15pm
monday

the night of the golden globes. both frightened and excited, nicole examined herself in the mirror. her heavenly themed white givenchy dress by alexander mcqueen suited her perfectly with its feathered angel wings and a corseted bodice.

"this is..." she paused. "wow." she finished off as she turned to her stylists. the two men clapped their hands, they were her hair, makeup, and fashion stylists who always helped nicole during every event.

"you look so stunning!" anthony, her hair and makeup stylist giggled.

todd nodded, "i couldn't agree more. and don't you worry the afterparty dress will just have you dead." he replied jokingly as he escorted her to the door.

"do i get a hint?" she asked the man.

"even better. it's a custom prada, dark chocolate evening gown silk dress that will compliment you in the best way possible." he explained giddily.

"consider me intrigued." she said with a wink before noticing an empty driveway. "where's wesley? i thought i had my assistant ask him to take me to the globes." she told the two.

they shrugged, "i heard that he's meeting you there." todd recalled.

"why won't you just talk to him yourself?" anthony inquired.

"because we got in a bad argument on new years and it's bad enough that i have to drag him along to this after it..." she complained.

"new years day was forever ago." anthony said dramatically.

"i actually haven't talked to him since." she admitted causing both of the men to yell her name in a scolding manner. "i know, i know. but i asked my assistant to get him there and she said he'd handle it, but guess what? no wesley!" she exclaimed.

"i'm right here." said a voice.

nicole spun around, her brown eyes widening as she saw wesley in a fitted black tux. he was just a naturally handsome man. but tonight, in his tux, he was just down right breathtaking.

she inhaled sharply, gathering her thoughts. "wesley," she greeted, her voice barely a whisper.

he offered a nod, his expression impassive. "nicky," he acknowledged.

"i think your prince charming is here." todd whispered to the girl before the two stylists went on their merry way.

nicole watched as the men left the house, leaving her in an uncomfortable silence with wesley. she could feel the tension in the air, it was thick, heavy, almost unbearable. but, she knew she wouldn't crack first. she crossed her arms over her chest, "you look nice." she muttered, before gesturing to the driveway. "ready?" she asked, her tone formal.

"ready." he responded, his voice void of enthusiasm.

the drive was silent, aside from the sound of the radio in his driver's escalade. the two stole glances at each other, but never exchanged words. the silence was more than deafening - it was deafeningly deafening.

"so, um, nominated for director?" wesley finally broke the silence. he spoke with no inflection, he only wanted to end the silence.

nicole peered up, she looked surprised and slightly confused, she thought that he wouldn't be interested enough to bring anything like this up in any conversation. "um... yeah. i got a nomination," she confirmed.

"so why am i here tonight?" he questioned. "we haven't talked in days, you're probably still pissed at me..." he listed off.

she shifted in her seat, her annoyance with him growing by the second. "i was pissed at you. now, i'm just irritated." she corrected, she was too good to get pissed at him again. "and i need to maintain my image," she replied, her voice curt. "my management wants it to look as though i'm set to be in a relationship. they think it'd be embarrassing for me to show up alone." she said truthfully.

"embarrassing?" he repeated, his voice harsh. if there was one thing wesley rocco hated, it was being used. he shook his head, "so how long are we going to keep up with this stupid game?"

"just until the end of the night. you don't even have to go to an afterparty, and honestly if i don't win i doubt i'll go to an afterparty." she admitted.

he paused, his eyes meeting hers in the silence. "fine, till the end of the night." he nodded. his tone was stern, unyielding, but at least he agreed.

she nodded, and the silence fell back upon them like a heavy cloak. it wasn't hard to tell that the two had a deep and complicated history, one that was laden with pain and heartbreak. but this evening, they were bound together by a shared need to maintain a professional facade.

BEVERLY HILTON
beverly hills, ca 6:30pm

the car pulled to a stop outside the entrance and in an instant the paparazzi ambushed the vehicle, taking photos and yelling questions at the two. it was chaotic, as always. but now, with wesley, it felt even more unbearable.

he offered her his hand, and though she hesitated, nicole accepted it, allowing him to guide her out. their fingers lingered together for a moment longer than necessary, just enough for the paparazzi to capture the moment.

with wesley by her side, nicole put on a smile and walked the red carpet. they paused for photographers, posed for countless photos, and smiled for the world. but underneath the bright lights and flashing cameras, the tension between them was palpable.

the event coordinator ushered her towards a live interviewer, and she braced herself for the barrage of questions.

"hello!" exclaimed the interviewer, "and folks, here we have filmmaker nicole bleu and her plus one, model wesley rocco."

nicole offered a polite smile and wave, while wesley simply offered a nod. "you look absolutely stunning." nicole complimented the interviewer.

"why thank you, as do you. you look like a vision." the woman replied. "would you mind walking us through both of your outfits? a little ootd."

"i'm wearing a custom prada gown featuring a gold chain as the straps. i opted for this look to evoke a sense of elegance and femininity." nicole shared.

wesley cleared his throat, "my outfit is an armani black tux. i chose it because it's a timeless and versatile look that can be dressed up or down accordingly."

the interviewer nodded, "and wesley doesn't your date look just beautiful tonight?"

wesley glanced at nicole, his expression unreadable. "she always does," he said simply.

nicole fought against her instinct to roll her eyes. the tension between them was still apparent, despite their attempts to mask it.

the interviewer smiled, oblivious to the strain. "awe, so sweet! and you, miss bleu are being nominated as best motion picture director for your movie 'undressed.'" she stated. "how does this nomination feel? and i'd love to know about your process when it came to making the movie."

"this nomination is truly an honor," nicole replied gratefully, her voice steady. "directing 'undressed' was a true passion project for me. i worked closely with every cast and crew member to ensure that each shot was executed perfectly." she explained, her eyes glimmering with determination. "the entire process involved months of sleepless nights, late-night editing sessions, and constant rewrites. but it was so worth it to see the finished product on the big screen." she concluded with a proud smile.

"now it's come to our attention that most of your movies have a similar main protagonist, a woman who's lost in this world. whether it's a shopping addiction, a sleeping addiction, a need to be perfect in a sport, being confused as an artist, and lastly being confused because of a man. they're all confused." the interviewer pointed out.

nicole's eyes flickered with a mix of surprise and comprehension as she listened to the woman's observation. "you're right," nicole acknowledged, "each of my characters has grappled with their own form of confusion. what you see as confusion, i see as vulnerability, and strength." she continued, her tone steady and firm. "through my movies, i explore the journeys of women, each in their own way, discovering themselves within adversity. they're not merely 'confused,' they're exploring their own identities, seeking growth and self-acceptance." nicole explained, her expression reflective. "it's about understanding that being 'confused' is part of being human, of being a woman. my movies reflect that journey, the exploration of oneself in a world that often tries to define us, to put us in boxes. i want to depict the realness, the rawness of this struggle. it's not just about what you see on screen, but about the experiences and emotions that drive these characters."  nicole concluded sincerely.

"said beautifully. now, when looking at the award nominee 'undressed' it follows a woman in hollywood who isn't being taken seriously because the world only views her for her appearances. the main character is played by your older sister, did you to find it hard to work together?" the interviewer followed up, a small smile on her lips.

"of course olive's my sister and we goof around all of the time, but she has a three year old daughter which allows her to be perfected when it comes to knowing when play time is up." nicole said.

"wow, and she's getting nominated tonight too." the interview said.

nicole nodded, "that's right. for best performance in a drama film. i couldn't be prouder of her."

"and to think she's only ever modeled and delivered so well as an actress." the interviewer said. "well anyway, to conclude, i'd love to hear who your both excited to see tonight."

"wes, you first, i have to think." nicole informed the man.

"probably glenn powell." he said confidently. "we go way back."

nicole nodded, "well, there's a lot of exciting talent here tonight, but i'm actually most excited to see angelina jolie. i've always admired her work, and this year she's nominated in two categories." she shared.

"well thank you, the both of you, for your time. and i'm sure that i'm speaking for everyone when i say, we're excited to see who's winning what. happy globes day!" the interviewer finished as nicole and wesley were ushered away.

as the two walked towards the inside of the venue, nicole started to thank him for being cordial. "thank-"

"your sister was in your movie? she's not even recognized as an actress, she's seen as a model! but when i asked to be in your movie it's an entire meltdown with you because i'm a model not an actor." he pressed in a hushed tone.

"don't you dare bring that up here!" nicole hissed, her eyes narrow. "not now, not here!" she warned, glancing around at the other attendees. she didn't need to deal this drama.

"what? why not? i'm just stating that you gave your sister a chance you never gave me!" he pushed, his voice harsh.

"oh, please, don't you dare try and make yourself look like the victim! i never gave you a chance because you have no idea what it takes to be a good actor! you think that because you have the perfect hair, the perfect jawline and the perfect body that everyone else should just bow down to you!" nicole snapped, her frustration boiling over. "i grew up with my sister, i know her strengths and weaknesses." she explained as wes pulled out nicky's chair for her at their designated table.

she gracefully sank into it, her eyes still locked onto his. their conversation was far from over, but for now nicole needed a moment to recover. she took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before continuing.

"you act as though you are entitled to every opportunity that comes your way." she said, her tone measured. "and you don't understand that being an actor requires more than just physical appearance. it takes talent, dedication and a genuine passion for the craft. i didn't and i won't give you a chance because i don't believe that you had those qualities." she told him as he took his seat.

wesley stared at her, his gaze unyielding and challenging. he didn't back down, instead rising to meet her challenge.

"you're right, i am entitled." he replied, his tone defiant. "i am one of the most sought after models in the industry and that didn't just happen by chance. i worked my ass of to get to where i am." he declared, his jaw tight. "but instead of judging my talent based on my appearances, you should give me a chance." he pressed.

she rubbed his arm as a camera came nearby. "you're just not the right fit," she said calmly and with a smile to look decent for the camera.

"don't smile at me," he muttered, his eyes narrowing at her touch. "you're not taking me seriously because i'm a model. if i wasn't so good looking, you'd at least consider my talent."

"i'm not smiling at you. it's for the sake of the camera that's being shoved in your face." she replied, keeping the small smile on her face.

he shook his head, his frustration evident. he couldn't help but feel that nicky was being stubborn and unfair, and it only deepened his determination to prove himself to her. "you're being ridiculous," he mumbled, his gaze turning away from her.

nicole looked over as their table got full. seated at the round table now sat her sister olivia bleu, actress taylor russell, director luca guadagnino, actor jacob elordi as well as the director, sofia coppola.

nicole smiled recognizing every face. "what a stacked table!" she exclaimed with a small chuckle.

wesley simply leaned back in his seat, his gaze still icy. his frustration was palpable. he didn't share nicole's excitement at the star-filled table. instead, he remained silent, nursing his drink.

olivia, the older of the two sisters, smiled warmly. she leaned in, hugging nicole in greeting. "you look radiant tonight, sister." olive complimented.

"so do you. how's sloane?" nicole asked referring to olivia's three year old daughter.

"she's fantastic! she's watching the movie mulan tonight. she loves it so much! i don't think she's ever going to stop watching it. i've had to buy it in different languages so that she can learn a little bit of each. she's already learning french. i'm so proud of her." olivia shared.

"that's incredible," nicole said sincerely before taking note of the faces at the table. she'd directed the movies that both taylor and olivia starred in and she worked alongside sofia coppola for their movie, though she hadn't met nor worked with jacob or luca.

luca grinned at nicole. he was a prominent italian director who had a passion for storytelling. he had worked on many successful films and was known for his unique artistic vision.
"nicole, it's fantastic to have you at this table. how's your year been?" luca asked nicole with a slight hint of an italian accent.

she gave him a grateful smile, appreciating his welcoming nature. "it's been quite the roller coaster, luca." she replied, reflecting on her hectic filming schedule. "my last film was a thrill to be apart of. and congratulations on queer, i hear that it did wonders in theatre!"

"merci, i couldn't have done it without my extraordinary cast and crew." luca replied, his expression grateful. "i must say, your movie had a strong message and the audience had no choice but to feel every bit of it. you truly are a trailblazer, nicole." he said with a smile.

"oh stop it!" she said as she waved him off jokingly.

sofia then spoke to the brunette next to her in a hushed tone before speaking up, "nicole, you haven't met jacob yet now have you?"

nicole turned to jacob, her smile still in place. "it's a pleasure to meet you, jacob," she greeted, extending her hand out for a handshake. "i must say, your performance in the movie saltburn was outstanding. i was on the edge of my seat the entire time." she praised.

jacob was visibly taken aback by nicole's compliment, his cheeks flushing slightly under her praise. he reached out and shook her hand, his grip firm but gentle. "thank you, nicole. that means a lot coming from you. i'm a big fan of your films myself." he replied, his australian accent adding charm to his words.

"are you now?" she asked the man.

he nodded, his expression earnest. "i admire your storytelling and the way you handle complex topics. you have a unique way of bringing out emotions in your audience." he explained, his tone filled with respect.

nicole was touched by his words, especially coming from someone as talented as jacob. "i'm always striving to provoke thought and emotion through my art," she replied thoughtfully. "it's comforting to know that my work resonates with you, jacob."

"now jacob, i worked with nicole on our movie 'touch.'" sofia explained.

"that's right. the one about the strained marriage, right?" he asked.

"that's right," nicole affirmed. "we poured our hearts into that project, and we're both incredibly proud of the outcome."

"as you should be," jacob responded, his tone genuine. "i remember when i watched the movie, i was moved by the way you explored the intricacies of a damaged relationship." he said, his eyes reflecting a mix of admiration and intrigue.

wesley who was previously only sulking in his seat suddenly got interested. he cleared his throat and stuck his hand out to jacob. "wesley rocco." he said smoothly.

jacob turned to wesley, his expression polite but reserved. "pleasure to meet you," he offered, grasping the other man's hand for a handshake.

"likewise," wesley said with a charming smile. he kept his tone cordial but couldn't help but feel a pang of competitiveness.

"still modeling?" olivia asked wesley.

wesley flashed olivia a dashing smile. he took great pride in his modeling career, and it was clear that he enjoyed flaunting his success. "indeed i am, olivia," he replied, his tone oozing with confidence. "and business is booming." he proclaimed, as he leaned into nicole.

nicole leaned away from wesley's closeness, feeling slightly uncomfortable with his self-assured attitude. she had always valued humility, and it seemed that he had a bit of an overinflated ego.

"that's wonderful to hear," olivia replied, her tone polite but aloof. she couldn't help but roll her eyes internally at wesley's boastfulness. nicole and olivia exchanged a quick glance, silently acknowledging wesley's narcissistic mannerisms.

as they'd been paying close attention the award show, harrison ford finally announced the next category, "best motion picture director." nicole perked up in her seat, her heart rate slightly picking up. this was the category that she was nominated for.

the camera was close on her to make sure they got her reaction to either an intense loss or an intense win.

she sat with bated breath as she waited for her name to be called, her hands clasped together tightly. each passing second was agony. the anticipation of victory or defeat hung in the air. the camera was trained on her. the audience was silent.

the presenter opened the envelope.

"and the globe goes to....nicole bleu for her movie, 'undressed'!" the presenter exclaimed. the room erupted in applause.

nicole's heart nearly leaped out of her chest. her eyes widened in shock and disbelief. had she heard correctly? her mind couldn't fully grasp the reality of the moment.

her entire table stood up as they clapped for her, she hesitantly stood up before being pulled into a brief kiss by wesley.

"congratulations," he murmured, his lips close to her ear. his tone held a hint of possessiveness, as if he were showcasing for everyone that he was associated with the winner.

the spotlight was on her. she felt a mixture of shock and gratitude as she made her way to the stage. her legs trembled slightly as she approached the presenter. harrison happily handed her her award before backing up, allowing her to speak into the mic.

nicole gracefully took hold of the golden globe statue, her hands trembling slightly with gratitude. she moved closer to the microphone, her voice filled with humble gratitude as she began to speak. "thank you so much to the academy for gifting me with this heavy award, and i'm so humbled to even be in a room filled with such talented people. thank you so much to my cast and crew for their hard and incredible effort. it wouldn't have been possible without you all."

her eyes glanced over to her sister, who was smiling back at her in happiness. though she noticed wesley who had his arms crossed with a blank look on his face as he eyed jacob.

"i can hear my parent's words in my head. to keep going, to never give up, and to keep pushing for what i want. and tonight, i'm proud to say that i did just that," nicole confessed. "thank you all. and thank you for loving my art."

the applause thundered through the room as the camera panned over to wesley who was now smiling, his demeanor completely changed from before.

as the applause simmered down, nicole stepped down, and back to the table, where she felt the weight of the award in her hands. she let out a deep breath, still trying to process the magnitude of what she'd just achieved. wesley took hold of her free hand, though she was quick to pull away.

"you don't have to cling to me," she whispered, a hint of frustration in her tone. she wanted to bask in the moment, to relish her hard-earned victory. wesley's possessive behavior was becoming increasingly irritating.

he frowned, clearly not enjoying being called out on his actions. he leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper, "i'm simply showing the world that i'm with the award winner. relax."

user1 such a deserved win, love her film style.

user3 are her and @wes dating now???

as the brunette walked alongside wesley in hopes of going to the afterparty, an interviewer quickly stopped them. "nicole! congratulations on your big win, how do you feel?" he asked, shoving the microphone in her face as the camera was directly on her.

she had her trophy clutched in her hands and she smiled warmly at the interviewer, adjusting to the bright lights and the microphone in her face. "thank you so much! i feel incredible," she replied, her voice filled with genuine delight. "i'm just honored to have won amongst such a talented pool of nominees.'

the interviewer then turned to wesley, his eyes on him. "and wesley, how are you feeling after she won?" he asked curiously, the microphone now in front of his mouth.

wesley flashed the interviewer a cocky smile, clearly enjoying the attention. "oh, i'm thrilled. i always knew she was destined for greatness. it's an honor to be associated with a woman of her talent."

"and nicole, if i may, what's next for you?" the interviewer asked.

nicole smiled, enjoying the conversation. "i've actually been contemplating a new film, and it's been at the forefront of my thoughts. i'm aiming for it to be a departure from some of the darker and more dramatic roles i've played in the past. i'm really hoping to delve into a lighter, more cheerful story this time around."

"oh, really?" the interviewer inquired, clearly intrigued. "that sounds like a refreshing change. can you share any details about the project?"

she shook her head, unwilling to give away too much information just yet. "i am still figuring out the details so i don't have much else to share." she explained.

wesley, who had been silently listening, leaned in, placing a hand on her lower back. he chimed in with a hint of pride, "but i can assure you, whatever she does will be nothing short of spectacular. she's an incredible talent."

she shot him a look that was both grateful and subtle warning. she appreciated his support, but she didn't need him to speak for her. she was capable of handling the interview herself. the interviewer, seemingly picking up on the subtle exchange, quickly moved on to another question. "are you two headed to the afterparty?" he asked.

"yes." wesley answered quickly as nicole answered with a "no" at the same time.

she cleared her throat, "we were. but now i'm feeling just a bit overwhelmed with everything." she explained, though she was discreetly explaining it to wesley.

wesley looked at her incredulously, clearly not enjoying her decision to forgo the afterparty. he leaned back against the wall, arms still crossed, his disappointment evident. "you're kidding, right?" he muttered under his breath.

the interviewer seemed unaware of the tension between them and continued to smile, wrapping up the conversation. "well, congratulations again on your win. and hopefully we'll all get to see more of your work soon!"

"thank you, goodnight!" she said before walking away, wesley following suit. "seriously? you almost ruined the interview."

"oh, please," wesley rolled his eyes, "i only added to it. and what was that about not going to the afterparty? i thought you said you were going." he prodded, frustration tinting his tone.

"i don't want to anymore. especially with you." she shot back as they stepped into the backseat of his driver's escalade.

he closed the door with more force than necessary, "you've just won a golden globe, and you're not going to the afterparty?" he questioned, his tone laced with irritation.

she exhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a moment before responding, "i feel overwhelmed. i want to just go home."

he huffed, crossing his arms like a petulant child. "how can you feel overwhelmed? you just won a major award. this is your moment!"

her annoyance began to surface as his refusal to understand her perspective frustrated her. "just because it's my moment doesn't mean i'm not allowed to feel overwhelmed."

"it would've been great publicity." he muttered.

"i'm sorry, is this my moment or yours?" she snapped.

he looked at her in disbelief, clearly not expecting her to clap back. "you don't have to get an attitude with me." he said.

"don't dictate my feelings and my moments then i won't." she retorted, her eyes locking with his in a silent challenge.

he shook his head, his jaw clenched. "whatever. if you don't want to go out, then we won't." he stated through gritted teeth, knowing it was pointless to try and persuade her further.

"i'd like to just be dropped off at home." she instructed.

"your wish is my command." he said in a sarcastic and low tone before speaking to the driver.
