this character is set in an alternate universe where soulmates are a thing. everybody meets their soulmates before the age of 18, and the feeling when the two first meet could be a mix of a heart flutter, a stomach twist, or something else.

it is required that your character is my character's soulmate (obviously), around his age, and human.

he has synesthesia, which allows him to hear colors. he associates different people's voices to colors, and even different sounds to colors. he can do this with every sound besides his own voice. his favorite color is red, and any sound that has a hint of red to it is a pleasant sound to him.

you were riding the subway train back from hanging out with your friends, and you were minding your own business. you currently had earbuds/headphones on and you were humming to your favorite song without much thought.
you jumped slightly when you felt a soft tap on your shoulder, and you glanced to your side and and gave whoever it was your attention. it appeared to be a very awkward looking boy, around your age, whom you've never seen before.
"um.. i don't mean to be rude or anything, but do you mind.. humming more quietly? it's not that your voice is bad, but-" he cut himself off and stared at you for a good long moment.
your heart suddenly fluttered and your stomach did flips (metaphorically, of course), something that's never happened to you. you'd recalled the times in school when you were told about soulmates, and what it felt like to meet them. and you were sure this boy was your soulmate.
