"This plan is ridiculous," I scoff at Fury.

Natasha sighs, "Oh, will you just say yes? He won't let me do this without you."

I cross my arms. Fury hiring pirates to hijack a Shield ship so Natasha can "save the Shield operatives" but in reality she'll be downloading Project Insight's algorithm. And I have to be on the ship and get "held hostage". Sounds like a great plan! I should jump right on it.

"Your husband will be leading STRIKE if that brings you any comfort," Nat smiles sarcastically.

I roll my eyes, "He just got that promotion, thank you very much."

"Ladies, can we get back to it?" Fury interjects as soon as we begin our stare off.

"Give us a second, I'm winning," I smirk.

"You always blink at a minute forty-five," The corners of Nat's lips curl up.

After a little longer I cave. "Damn it!"

"You made it to a minute forty-seven this time," Nat congratulates.

"You can continue now Uncle Nick," I turn back to find an annoyed expression on his face and his arms are crossed.

He sighs. "You need to be on the boat so that you can stall it, giving Agent Romanoff enough time to complete her mission."

I huff, "Why me?"

"You're the only one I trust on that damn boat," He answers, "Besides you're the best engineer we got. Our best engineer should be on a launch ship wouldn't you think?"

"He's right," Natasha adds.

I nod for him to continue, liking the praise. "One of the pirates will make you change the course of the ship. Do what you need to do until you're "rescued". Understood, Agent Fox?"

"Yes," I sigh, mixed with a groan. "I understand."

"So you're in?" Nat smirks.

"I'm in," I roll my eyes as she struts out of the room. I better get a bonus for this. And vacation time.
