Unlike Black Star, Azure is a lot calmer and quiet than him. She doesn't go around boasting about how amazing she is, she will simply show them and actually succeed in doing so. She is nice towards people, she will remain that way until you do something that gives her a chance to be mean. She used to be very uptight but has learned from Black Star & Soul to be a bit more laid back about things. She has a brilliant mind which is how she became the top three of the academy with Maka & Ox. She is always up for a fight no matter what and is capable of adapting to her environment. She does not hesitate to get over her fears, knowing that all they will do is hold her back.

◦ BACKGROUND ◦
The Hoshino (星野) family is a special family with some relation the Star Clan and the Hoshi family. Members of this family also serve Death Weapon Meister Academy. They also have the glare trait that appear like stars and remain on their eyes permanently. Additionally, Hoshino members that serve in Death Weapon Meister Academy have a special insignia that is similar to the academy's skull mask logo but with a star on the right eye instead of a circle. Because of the distant relation to the Hisho family, it has allowed her to train with them and learn the art of assassination. Much like others, she tends the academy without a weapon, she had one prior but things didn't end well between the two. The two had a falling out and ended up with her weapon hurting her. She doesn't talk about the incident. She's managed to become one of the top students within the academy and is currently dating Soul.

Lord Death has a habit of taking Azure from classes and sending her off to do things for him, sometimes along side Kid, Patty & Liz. Other times on her own, which is why she isn't always at the academy like the others.

- Soul Menace (魂威, Kon'i; "Soul Force"): An advanced technique of wavelength control that allows them to attack with their own soul wavelength towards an opponent.

- Art of Assassination (暗殺術, Ansatsu Jutsu): Azure is skilled in the usage of assassination techniques.

- Old Ways (古武術, Ko Bujutsu; FUNimation "Ancient martial arts"): Azure is knowledgeable in the ancient teaching of martial arts meant for killing their opponents. Despite this, it also has non-lethal applications.

Abilities when partnered with Soul "Eater" Evans.

- Black Blood (黒血, Kokketsu): While in resonance to Soul, Azure has access to black blood with Soul Eater. Under its influence, she has greater strength that makes her capable of tossing Crona into an arch structure, destroying it in the process. She also managed to manhandle Crona, whose strength due to Ragnarok once overpowered herself. Azure was also able to take fatal attacks from the Black Sword transformation with only minor wounds as well as being resistant to stabbing related attacks. This can also increase her healing ability.

- Black Blood's Madness (黒血の発狂, Kurodji no Hakkyō): In this state, the Black Blood's Madness gives her a wavelength similar to Crona. With this Madness, the Little Ogre stated that it doesn't let Azure feel fear at all. With this Madness, her fighting style becomes more erratic.

- Black Blood Armor (黒血の鎧, Kurodji no yoroi): This ability is one of Azure's major advantages with the Black Blood and Soul Resonance. Formerly, this dress was prematurely created during her fight against Arachne, giving her a boost in defense enough to withstand Arachne's powerful web attacks as well as enable her to easily utilize the Demon-Hunt technique in addition and allowed her to kill Arachne. After Soul pulled the Black Blood in full blast, this created a new and more formidable dress armor, allowing her flight even.
