Day One: Getting Lost Somewhere

Started the 30 Day OTP Writing Challenge since writers block suckss

I recommend it because why not?

Now, this doesn't mean updates everyday (although I'll try my best to post as frequently as possible) because my head is blocked lately but I will base every chapter on the respective topic.

"Look, Raven, I'm the son of Batman. I know where a stupid park is."

"Then why are you going off into the woods, smart one?"

Damian looked at her then the road, trying to swerve off the trail into the woods but failing miserably. He groaned and hit his head against the steering wheel in frustration. What made Raven believe a fifteen year old was actually capable of driving, she was unsure of. But, clearly, his claim was proven wrong.

"Care to admit something now?" Raven smirked at the possibility of the most arrogant, irritating, and prideful boy she'd ever met actually admitting he was wrong.

"We're lost." He mumbled.

"And who's fault is that?"

"Yours for letting a fifteen year old boy drive."

"Yes, ex--" She glared at her boyfriend, who wore a smug grin on his face, "You.."

"Yes, me?"

"Are the worst person on Earth." She pouted, crossing her arms to intensify her glare on him.

Damian kissed his pouty girlfriend to release her tension on him. He pulled away smiling, content when Raven kissed him back, "There's no signal here. No GPS. I have no idea where we are. And so, we're lost. And it's to blame on me, Damian Wayne, the son of Batman and heir to the demon, because I don't take directions." He rolled his eyes and smiled, "That what you wanted to hear? Because me admitting it doesn't get us at that park."

"Why don't you shut up for once?"

"Never gonna happen and you know that." He then sighed, "I have no idea where we are, Rave. I ruined our date, I'm sorry." He had that genuine, subtle face of sorrow that was a rare on him. The fifteen year old wore all his guilt on his face. Not to force Raven to feel bad for him and forgive him. Not to guilt trip her. Not even to show her how upset he was. It was something that only happened when he was authentically unhappy, in fear of disappointing one of the few people he actually cared about.

Raven was part of the handful who could recognize the facial expression. She cared about his happiness and didn't want to see him unlike his usual egotistic self. Most people hated him for that aspect of his personality but Raven, as it's been established, wasn't like most people. She loved him, every facet of him, though she wasn't sure if it was time to tell him so.

"Damian, look at me." She was sure to use a gentle voice towards him.

He turned to her, glassy eyed, "I'm sorry, Rae. I know we haven't been out on a date properly in a while and I totally ruined it."

"Damian. We're superheroes, there is never going to be anything 'normal' about us and that includes dates. Why don't we just set up here?"

"You're not upset?"

"You should know by know that those things don't shake me." She smiled and hugged him.

"God, Rae, I love you so much." He mumbled, burying his face into her neck and inhaling her scent as he wished the embrace could last forever.

"I love you too." She whispered back.

And at that moment, that very moment, neither of them had felt lost or out of place.

In fact, they felt they were exactly where they belonged.
